When I worked for the road dept in '78, we were cleaning a catch basin and found a class ring from twenty years ago. Just a wonderful feel good video. I am glad I stumbled across your channel. To see this ladies shock and joys of tears made this video all that more special. I myself became emotional for her. I actually have a fond story to share about my Mom and a metal detector from when I was a kid. My Mom had always wanted a metal detector and found one at a antiques barn near Lake Shawnee in Topeka Kansas. She bought it for $50. This was the summer of 1986. I was 16 years old at the time. In the following days, or a few weeks later, just her and I made our way from Topeka Kansas to White Cloud Kansas, a very old town that was mostly vacant and is still mostly vacant today in 2022. We pulled into town, drove around, parked and started to dig around some of the empty lots. In a very short period of time along an old tree line right next to the downtown area, or I should say main street, she started to dig up several gold coins. I remember her suddenly screaming so loud that it startled me badly. She then started to cough so violently that I became very worried for her. She caught her breath, I gave her a hug and she continued to dig a small area of earth. The first coin she pulled up was a $5 gold coin. There were several $1 gold coins, $5 gold coins and a few $10 gold coins. In total she found 27 or 29 gold coins. I've re-told this story a few times and I've just always round the coins up to 30, but it was actually just under 30 coins. We left as soon as we found them due to the same car driving around the area watching us we think. She got scared, told me we are leaving and then hid the coins in her cigarette case, stuffed it in her bra and we left as quickly as we could before someone showed up to start asking questions. I think she was worried about the police showing up and her losing the coins. We never got to return there but I know the area and hopefully no one else went over that area with a metal detector. One of these days I will go back there. My Mom did not have a lot of money. She was a single parent of four kids and those coins helped to fed us kids over the next few years along we getting us new shoes and allowing us to eat out sometimes and go to a few movies together as a family. One movie we did go see because of that gold money was Stand By Me. She was a huge fan of Steven King and we all had a great time. She was very much a treasure hunter and would get all of the treasure magazines throughout the 80's monthly. She had stacks of them. My Mom often talked about that day and it would just magically come up in conversation over the years as I grew older and her health declined. My Mom was a gypsy and and in the last part of her life moved from Topeka Kansas to Canada and worked as a cook in a logging camp. She tried to get Canadian citizenship but was denied because of her poor health. She then made her way to Ketchikan Alaska where she lived until she died at the very young age of 54 which ironically is the same age that I am now. She deserved to have her moment in the sun and my Mom truly did find a treasure that only a few can dream of. For years she carried one of those $1 gold coins as a good luck charm. I think she sold the coin during one of her hard times when she was traveling. RIP Momma. Thanks for the video!

I know how much a piece of jewlery can mean to you. My mom gave me her class ring that she cherrished with all her heart. My mawmaw worked so hard growing up but money was tight. My mom at 26 worked extra hours and got my aunt her first pair of reeboks(back then in their school that was the style) just to see a smile on her face. Thats just how my momma is and always has been, my mawmaw was always so proud of her and worked double jobs and saved up to my mom the exact class ring she wanted. Sterling silver, with a diamond stone. She gave it to me when she pulled me out of school(it was a rough rough time for me) i got my ged and started working right away. Her and her ehusvand at the time werenseperating and he stole all our jewelry and my brothers guitar hero stuff. None of it was ever recovered and it still breaks my heart til this day.
I received my class ring in 1965. That summer I had a job hoeing lima beans for Libbies. I got in the house and realized I'd lost my ring. My mother was not happy. Later in my life I bought a cheap Bounty Hunter detector. Dad still lived in my childhood home so I asked if I could detect it. He said several people had already but go ahead. I started in between the garage and a newly placed sidewalk. Found a fork and then got a good signal by the new sidewalk. My class ring 34 years later looking brand new. Unfortunately mom was no longer with us. My best find for sure.

Good deal. I like to see positive stories like this. In an age and a platform filled with so much negativity, It's great to see there's still positivity out there, we just have to look for it, just like he did with the ring. We need an extension for a browser that works like a metal detector that makes it easier to find and appreciate it even more. Ty Sir.
Awesome job man!! I know she was beside herself but it had to make your day also, love seeing humanity being kind to one another!! Stellar job my friend!
One of my front teeth had a loose crown on it. While talking with the neighbor, one day, it popped out and fell into the gravel. Everyone has stones in their front yard, here in Arizona. I hopped over to the prospecting store and rented a metal detector, and found the crown in 10 mins. The neighbor was impressed, since there was scrap rebar and lots of hot rocks under the landscape gravel. That tooth was replaced with an implant, soon after.

Posting highlights of each video and then posting the link to the video in the comment would probably direct a lot of traffic to your RUclips. Especially a story/video like this. People eat it up! Not only did I get a bucket full I picked one up in my tire to the side of the tread so it couldn't be patched. The worst day detecting beats the best day on the clock somewhere.
My son’s class ring flew off of his finger in a field while playing volleyball. He rented a metal detector and we searched for hours with no luck. I went back the next day on my lunch hour. The metal detector was due back that evening. The clouds got really scary and it was starting to thunder and lightning. It was just starting to rain and I was heading to my car and then I heard a loud BEEP! Found it!!!!
Could you imagine her mom lost her's in the same park you were in and that was the ring that you found two years ago. That would have been awesome. This was a great video awesome work. New subscriber here.
I love this stuff so much, I mean I have never done it properly but I used to go to the beach with my brother, one day when out fishing in a farmers field that had a river running through the middle my dad lost his wedding ring, and so we called my brother who bought his old metal detector, we found it right away near my dads old seat box. Anyway as they chatted I wondered off and had an amazing time using it in the field, I never found much but what I did find was very old 2 pence coins and even half penny ones, the 2ps were much larger than modern, I dont know how old but they were very old (not ancient treasure or nothing) but I always imagined some guy or people sat in the same areas, perhaps even fishing and it falling from their pocket, 50 or 80 years before and that was so cool. I can only imagine how awesome finding older stuff is and things like this helping people!

None of it was ever recovered and it still breaks my heart til this day.
great story, thanks for watching!
The pure joy and elation on her face!
My best find for sure.
thats an awesome story. I've still got my Bounty Hunter Quick Draw I used for 15 yrs. Good machine, just cant go too deep. Thanks for watching!
I like the joke you played on her as you reach out to her and said,
"It's only a pull tab" ~~~~
I did milk the drama a bit, thanks for watching.
Man ur doing a good work for strangers by finding not just metals but precious memories that comes along with them new sub here
Thanks and welcome
No idea how I stumbled onto this video, but it's great. Nice straight to the point the point, no time wasting building up to it. Thank you, you've got a new subscriber
thank you, I really appreciate the sub. I hope you enjoy my other videos.
What a story!
I had tears in my eyes when you found her ring. So happy for her.
And then to think you found a ring just like that, what a story.
I'm glad mom has hers & you get to keep the other ring!
God bless you! Thank you for sharing!
😊🩵💙💜😊
thank you so much for your kind words, it felt pretty good handing that ring to her. glad you enjoyed it.
Good deal. I like to see positive stories like this. In an age and a platform filled with so much negativity, It's great to see there's still positivity out there, we just have to look for it, just like he did with the ring. We need an extension for a browser that works like a metal detector that makes it easier to find and appreciate it even more. Ty Sir.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice to see honesty & love for other people...
thank, it felt good.
Awesome video. Love seeing people get things back that they thought was gone forever.👏👏👏😎
Thank you, it felt good to see her so happy.
God bless you sir. I bet you made her day. We need more kind people like you!
Thank you, it did feel good.
Awesome job man!! I know she was beside herself but it had to make your day also, love seeing humanity being kind to one another!! Stellar job my friend!
thank you, I really appreciate that. It did feel good, I have to say.
@@panthercityoutdoors rock on man
So cool that you found her's and amazing that you found one just like it nearby.
yeah, I found it in the park I met her and her husband at, crazy. thank you so much for watching and commenting.
This video was just recommended to me today. Such a beautiful moment. What a lovely video!
thanks, she was so happy, it almost made me cry. thank you for watching.
That tooth was replaced with an implant, soon after.
thats a great story, did finding it give you the detecting bug? lots of good detecting in Arizona. thanks for watching!
@@panthercityoutdoorsFor years I've toyed with the idea of prospecting as a retirement hobby, a hobby that could make $. Now that I live in AZ, nugget shooting seems to be the best method, given the general lack of water for panning. bwdik
@@kenjordan5750 there's a large swath of Arizona that has meteorites. Metal detector and walking stick with super magnets on the top to check rocks. look for a local detecting club to join, loads of info and experience there.
That was a cool find! When I was at a friend's house her sister had lost her boyfriend's class ring in their front yard. So while they were yacking I just walked around a bit and I found it! I seem to have a knack for finding stuff. I was in Jr high I think. I'm 72 and still make a find now and then.
Love it!!
Love the ring recovery! Great return. Great for the sport of MD'ing!
It was fate that we met. Thanks.
You are so sweet to help her out like that. God Bless You ;)
I try
Watching this again. Just love her reaction. Good job!
Thats a wonderful feeling.
I have a had few returns. One was a UVA class ring that had been lost 52 years. I didn't know it was there. It had the landowner's initials in it and when I handed it to him I thought he was going to pass out. He was 78 years old.
I wish I could bottle it! 🙂
❤ how amazing!!!!!!!!
Crazy how this one video blew up your channel! Keep up the good work!
Appreciate it!
Returning a lost ring and reuniting it with its rightful owner is an amazing feeling! Gave you a like and sub. 👍
It felt really good and kharma has been good to me since then. thank you for watching!
Never ever rely on the display numbers. I’ve been detecting for over 40 years and have found that a lot of things can determine the numbers displayed. Audio is the king.
I've also been detecting for almost 40 years as well. I use both the sound and the numbers. As i get older, I find it hard to discern different tones. Plus, while I trust my old Nox600, I usually dig it all. thanks for watching.
@@panthercityoutdoors digging it all is the way to go. In trashy areas though it’s very arduous. Good luck with your future digs man.
I dont know how I stumbled upon this video but you are awesome! Was nice to see how happy it made her you found the ring. Good job!
Thanks and welcome!
You took her breath away! Kudos!
Just now saw this video, you earned my sub! You are a rad fricken dude Panther, your parents raised one heck of a man!
I appreciate that and appreciate you watching too! Hope you like my other videos.
Crazy how deep it went in 10 months time.. She about made me shed a tear for her.
thanks, I did shed a tear, she was just so happy
I know! I was thinking wouldn't it be laying right on top of the lawn or just beneath a few blades of grass?
@@francesmcstay no because if you think, if its stepped on it will drive into the ground, walking over that area will vibrate the dirt and sink it lower and rain will sink it lower too.
Appreciate your honesty and kindest! It's pretty rare now!
I appreciate that, but like the Irish say, it's nice to be nice.
Thats awesome! Stories along with it like that makes it great. Thanks for sharing awesome job
Thanks for watching
Brilliant stuff...well done you!! And credit due for asking about the other ring, when you really didn't have to!
thank you for the kind words, it felt really good to see her face. 🙂
What a great recovery with a strange and crazy twist. Congrats PCO. I love recoveries. Happy Hunts. _/👍
Thanks! You too! It was strange for a fact.
New sub here, glad I found your channel! So awesome to be able to return items people thought they would never see again! I've had the pleasure of returning a few sentimental items as well. Great job, looking forward to more of your content. Jim and Mason, New Hampshire USA.
Awesome! Thank you! It feels good to see them so happy.
That was great my friend, you are a good person. thanks for sharing this video
I appreciate that, thank you for watching. 🙂
Good job bro. I've had several people come to me while I'm on the beach. Lost rings and keys. Found them everytime. I like that part of this hobby.
Great video. Great job.
If I were to say anything about this video. Your swing is to fast. To wide. I learned. Paint the ground. Swing left. Swing right. Step forward. Over lapping every sweep. My finds have gone up prob 40% cover all the ground your working. Again. Great job. You made her very very happy. P.S. PUT THE RING ON A CHAIN. it means way to much to lose again. Happy hunting bro 👍
Thanks for the tips. I posted a short recently where I found a ring on a chain, lol.
dude, much respect...can just imagine, how much joy , relief she felt when you handed that ring to her....😊😊😊
and me too when I found it. I knew that solid 10 was it.
Well done man, it must be so rewarding for you to see the joy and happiness the young woman shows when you found her ring.
It does make me happy too.
Subscribed to your channel, and looking forward to more of your video's of that kind.
Wishing you happy hunting.
Great show.
wow, thank, that means a lot.
Just randomly found this channel. New subscriber and awesome ring recovery!
wow, thanks, hope you enjoy!
It sucks to know it was there this whole time. So glad they found it.
Now that I’m older and can’t move like I used to, I’ve been considering this as a hobby and you may have given me the push to actually try it. Good 👍 stuff. I’m subbed
You should! It definitely helped me after ankle surgery.
First time seeing this channel. Subscribed !
Great video man👍🏼 Gonna go binge watch all your videos now .🙂✌🏼
Awesome! Thank you!
You are a gentleman, Sir. Best wishes from Lancashire, England.
thanks for watching mate!
This is special, bro. This is far more rewarding than any monetary value you could get from your finds. 😊
Well, except maybe if you find that million dollar nugget 😆
Thanks, the kharma return has been good. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
Your a good man sir. Thank you for finding her ring. 👍👍
Thanks 👍
Absolutely fantastic video and most entertaining search and recovery! What are the odds of those two rings being so exact!? I was waiting to hear that the mother's ring was the one lost in the park! Still, the odds are nearly impossible! What a wonderful story and boy did you make her happy!
I really appreciate that, it felt good I have to say.
Can't wait for your channel to explode brotha! Especially with a story like this. Have you considered making a TikTok strictly for use as advertising for your RUclips? Posting highlights of each video and then posting the link to the video in the comment would probably direct a lot of traffic to your RUclips. Especially a story/video like this. People eat it up! It may take a little time editing bit it would totally be worth it.
Those are awful kind words. Honestly, the RUclips thing takes enough time, lol. It's starting to cut into personal time.😁 I do appreciate the suggestion though. Thanks for watching.
@@panthercityoutdoors Ahhh, I hear ya. I enjoy metal detecting in terms of watching others do it but not actually practicing the discipline myself. But I did notice how skilled you were compared to others.
- Wishing you the best on your channel though! Take care bro!
Amazing I bought a Garrett Ace 250 a few years back and a White's TRX pin pointer. Haven't found any major jewelry or treasure yet, but someday LOL
Just keep at it, you will. Try hunting the totlots, children playgrounds, and dont forget to use the pinpointer to search underneath the raised areas. Good luck and thanks for watching.
I love the fact you would have gave her the one you had if it was her moms that she lost that’s a true metal detector! That’s how I like to be when I metal detect
thanks, that means a lot.
Good for you , What a nice thing to do for someone - THUMBS UP & SUBSCRIBED !
Thanks for the sub!
I am happy you found her ring andcan keep yours!
me too, everybody won.
Wow! Awesome recovery and very interesting how You found an identical ring in the park where You met Her!
It was a crazy return for sure. thanks for watching.
Angels do exist sir and you are one. I had a ring I got from my Grandmother for confirmation and in High school lost after swim practice. About 17 years later a women that I was working with was wearing it and said she found it on vacation??? Wow I got it back after many many years. Amazing how that works. God Bless you sir.
It can really be a small world, I really appreciate yer kind word and for watching.

Thanks 👍
Great to see this video!! Way to go!
Glad you enjoyed it!
You are very honest and a good man. 😊
That's very kind of you, tanks!
My son lost his expensive ring in our front yard ... we could NOT find it. I bought the cheapest harbor freight metal detector and found that ring in 3 minutes. Detector paid for itself in one use.
It is a fun hobby, you really never know what you'll find. Appreciate you watching.
Great find. That had to feel good. My Father In Law asked me to clear nails around his house after a roof job at his house. Not only did I get a bucket full I picked one up in my tire to the side of the tread so it couldn't be patched. The worst day detecting beats the best day on the clock somewhere.
So true, thanks for watching!
You can see the emotions enter her body. Literally pulling from the aeither and absorbing them in. Pretty wild.
I really dont think she thought I could find it. thanks for watching.
You mean ether
that was so cool! my wife lost her diamond pendant years ago and we could never find it unfortunately.
If you know the general are you lost it, chances are good it's still there
That was so awesome. Thank you for doing that.
thank you, it felt good to see her so happy. Appreciate you watching!
Yeah, you found the ring! I watched from New York State.
Thanks!!
That's awesome, I've heard so many cool stories since posting this video. Thanks for watching.
Could you imagine her mom lost her's in the same park you were in and that was the ring that you found two years ago. That would have been awesome. This was a great video awesome work. New subscriber here.
thank you so much. I really couldn't belive it when she texted me a picture of the ring. I was sure it was a scam, lol.
Almost as good as finding the woman's ring, are the great stories people here have told me. I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. 🙂🙂
@@panthercityoutdoors Thanks for uploading, One thing that amazes me is how shallow things are as well, like the coins I found or even old musket bullets and bits at the beach etc, literally on the surface and yet have laid in the ground for so many years, I love your videos, they are so cool! Good luck to you and thanks for helping so many as well!
Brilliant mate, well done, enjoyed that.
Ta, it felt good, I have to say.
Funny watching these videos, makes me want to say, “just go back to the right” as you’re walking around. 😂 if that makes sense. Thanks for sharing.
So true! Thanks for watching!
I REMEMBER that ring! It was in every catalog back in the eighties.
yup, it was one that the local jewelry spots always had on sale. Very popular style. It's one of favorite gold rings that I've found I really appreciate you watching!
Nice to see the joy that you bring to others! Ill subscribe.
I appreciate that. It did feel pretty good for me too when I saw her so happy.
It always amazes me how these objects need to be dug out after not too long rather than just lying where they fell on the surface. The ground beneath our feet is constantly shifting and changing and we don’t notice.
worms they keep the earth right
Wow great video! You’re a good storyteller
Thank you so much!
not only was it a great recovery, it was also a great story, now you are bound to them, until the end of life^^ you will remember her (rebecca) and her mother and...her story forever^^
thanks, it felt good
Got a good true story on wedding ring! My wife lost her wedding ring and it was missing for about a week, looked EVERYWHERE! I was about to order a replacement and thought let’s wait a little longer. Then one night she cooked dinner and took a bite of rice , you guess it , the ring was in the rice she prepared 5 days earlier. ( she is Asian and LOVES RICE❤❤❤.she pulled the ring out of her mouth. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That is awesome! Life can really be funny, and truth is stranger than fiction. thanks for watching!
25 years ago or so, my mom "lost" her wedding ring in the grass and filed an insurance claim. The insurance company paid off, miraculously, my mom found the ring in the yard. 🙄
🤣🤣🤣 that's priceless
A friend of mine lost a pearl earing .Five years later she found it in the gravel on her driveway. Cars had been driving over it all that time and it looked fine !!
jewelry can be pretty durable sometimes. thanks for watching!
I thought big gold rings, ring up on the Equinox 800 at a 15-18?
and higher than that. the one I'm wearing/found was a 19 and class rings in the 20s. small/medium gold rings 5-12. thanks for watching!
Great video, thanks for making it.
What make and model metal detector are you using? please.
I was using my Minelab equinox 800 that day. the 600 will read he same numbers
@@panthercityoutdoors Thanks for the fast reply and letting me know. Want one for fun hobby but there are so many makes out there was not sure what would be good for fun.
I also use a Nokta Simplex, it's a great machine too and runs around $325
@@panthercityoutdoors Thanks for the extra info as the first one was way out of my price range. Thanks again.
I'm currently looking for my lost ring. You say look for a reading of '12' for gold ring. I'll try that. Crazy that a ring goes that deep in the ground. Is that just from stepping on it?
heavy rains can turn the ground into slush and heavy objects can sink. If its a big mans ring it could be 19-21 on the Nox. I found a nice mans ring on this beach video, if you'd like to see it. ruclips.net/video/ksHbQoUlcv4/видео.html
good job. here's a sub, like and comment for your work
