When I was a college kid in New Haven, CT, I took the city bus out to the Long Island Sound on Saturday afternoon. Basically just sat on the beach, vibin' and reading. Got back to campus. realized I'd lost my keys! Went back out on Sunday morning, figured I'd just take a look. Ran into some guys detecting. They offered to help. I defined about where I thought I'd been sitting, we scanned around. 20 minutes, covered the area, didn't find anything. Was saying goodbye, his detector swung down near his boot, and triggered loud. He said "Oh, it does that on the metal eyelets, see ..." and moved his foot - which disturbed the sand and out popped my keys! I was a very happy young man.
Reuniting people with their lost items are some of my favourites videos. It’s not the money but the sentimental value that hits the most. I’ve lost count how many times you have now done this. Great video.
You've created a monster😂. Ever since I showed my wife your videos, all she wants to do is go searching. I do hope anything fancy, Garrett Ace 350, but we're heading to a beach today. Great job finding a lot of those owners!
I love how humble you are!! I’m so happy I found your page. You’re an incredible person🙌🏼🙌🏼 You give people hope when they have that sinking feeling. God bless you🙏🏼
God put on this earth to make people happy, and you are doing a fantastic job at it . You make miracles happen for others, that is very special. Thanks for these lost pieces videos I love seeing the reactions on their faces
Awesome videos and I also live in SW Florida. I was trying to go through your videos to see your equipment but must be missing it. My son loves going to Venice beach looking for shark teeth and figured why not add metal detecting to add to the treasure hunt. Thanks!
Thank you! I currently alternate between a Minelab Manticore and an XP Deus 2. If you want to get into it, reach out to my sponsor Digging It Detectors over in Cocoa. I was at my uncles house who I might add was in his 80’s he fought in WWII a was a true mountain man with no electricity or running water water in his home, he had a hand pump for after and a coal stove for heat. Well I asked if it was ok if I ran my metal detector around his house and he said you mean that thing will tell you if there is metal in the ground? I said it sure will uncle John he said I lost the tip off my bean sprayer at the barn will that thing find it? I said let’s go see! Lucky he had another tip which I used to see where it would range on my meter I made about 10 sweeps and found it, he was so excited about the whole ordeal he thought my machine made it pop out of the dirt lol. He would tell the story and say “when he ran that thing over the ground my bean sprayer tip jumped up out of the ground” it was one of my best finds to date.
Man that's got to be the most rewarding thing to be able to do for people. That guy looked ike he was going to cry when you handed him back his ring. I don't know how much you're making to do this butt, I can tell for you it's not just about the money. Really thank you for sharing this one.
@@DetectFlorida you're welcome. I spend time in Delray Beach a few times a year and I definitely want to get into detecting. Do you know of any groups or clubs over on that side of Florida? My name is Ronnie by the way
I've been fortunate enough to return 3 class rings found in parks, but one I couldn't, it was a sliver ladies from 1953 with no personal identifying markings 😢 I've been without a detector for many years now, but your channel has really reignited my fire, I've already check out Digging It and their prices are surprisingly good, plus your discount. I just have work a few hours overtime a day for about two weeks to get a Manticore and waterproof headphones. Thank you for reminding me of that feeling (my wife probably doesn't thank you, lol😂)
I really enjoy your channel. I’ve been medal detecting for years, but with very cheap equipment and it’s very old. I would like your advice on a good detector for water and sand. One that’s not real expensive. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and videos
Thank you! Currently, the Nokta Legend is the most budget-friendly detector on the market. Its multi-frequency, and performs well in the saltwater. Reach out to my friends at Digging It Detectors when you're ready, and they give all of my subscribers a discount
Oh if you ever find a class ring for Byron High 90 pink stone please let me know. My boyfriend at the time lost it off a chain back in the early 90s on FT Myers Beach!! I know very random but hey one never knows !! Love your channel!!
Loved this video.... you are a Nice Guy for helping them out! Quick Question: I recently bought 10 acres of OLD farm land in Michigan(once owned by Martin Van Buren/Prez) and surrounded by 200 year old Oak Trees with cleared rock piles along the Tree Lines. The field rocks were cleared by the farmers and piled in the Tree lines. I have found (not with a detector) a dozen old Horse Shoes and Types of Metals in the tree lines under the rocks. Are Old Farming Tree lines hot spots for Metal valuables from years gone by??? (thinking about buying a Metal Detector as a hobby 😃) Thanks
Thank you! Those are great places to search. Farmers would typically take breaks near the edges of the field. Try to find historic maps to see if there were any other dwellings on the property. Good luck!
Well this looks fun! I have a garret detector for dry stuff but I've always wanted to get in the water. What does a beginner saltwater detector run these days?
The cheapest machine that works pretty well would be the Nokta Legend. Diggingitdetectors.com offers a discount to my subscribers. Just use code: Florida when you check out, and they'll take some money off for ya!
Wanna meet up with my son(10) and I to teach us how to beach metal detect? We go home Saturday. I just bought a x-terra for us but no clue what I'm doing. Just found your videos, awesome job !! I'm enjoying them!

I love that you do that for people. Must feel really rewarding
Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't find a needle in a haystack because this channel is proof you can.
Yeah you can find a needle in a haystack...with the help of a metal detector 😂
That feeling of returning a treasured keepsake never gets old, does it? Good for you Shawn!
Its the best!
dude your videos always put me in a happy place
All I ever see you get is junk or coins
Well done, brother. I've found some rings and gotten them back to the people who lost them. It's a great feeling.

You've created a monster😂. Ever since I showed my wife your videos, all she wants to do is go searching. I do hope anything fancy, Garrett Ace 350, but we're heading to a beach today.

What she doesn’t know won’t hurt her ;)
You rock!
Talk about a happy Easter for that couple. Great find
Dope Vid. Great Recovery
Thanks
Thank you for giving a few tips as you detect. And for picking up trash. Very sad to see what Ian did to the pier, looks pretty ghostly.
It'll never feel the same there again. So sad! :(
This has to be one of the best hobbies a group of men can have.
Awesome recovery.
what a great feeling... to find that ring... made me tear up.. for no reason... lol... as soon as i saw it.
It happens to me sometimes too! A lot of these rings mean so much more to their owners than monetary value
Supper good job. This guy will never forget you😊
Thank you
I love doing that. Never been a ring. Most of the time it keys.
22:02 Suaron is looking at you right now...
Enjoyed!!

Nah. Its wayyyyyyyy more work than its worth
That must bring such joy to you! So cool... Keep Digging
Its the best feeling when I know that I'm about to turn their day around!

I just found your channel! Why is the water so cloudy? Is it dirty from the hurricane?
It changes with the tides. The water clarity here changes all the time. You never really know what it'll be like
I lost a silver ring on the beach in FL this year. I hope a detector can find and enjoy it
I know I’m not the only one who saw him get that perfect sand dollar and threw it back!
It was still alive :)
Love your videos and I definitely miss detecting beaches. What is the best metal detector for in and out of the water? I’m looking to upgrade
The XP Deus 2 is the most versatile. It does very well on land and sea
