As a detectorist since the 1970's ...I fill those holes in the parks or parking areas. You are correct, I know nothing about beach hunting but I see you fill your holes many times. I also see mother nature fill some in for you. I can't see behind you so no one else can either! Keep up the great videos!
Back in the 70s we had respect for others. And weren’t so thin skinned. This kid will get it when a jogger grabs hold of him on the beach. See how sarcastic he is then. Sounds like a white wine drinker.
Enjoyed the hunt very much. Thank you for teaching us about the beach and how to read it. Thank you for teaching us all about beach/ metal detecting etiquette. WYDI- silver ring.
I love your videos. The idea that you get criticized on your own videos is just crazy! Some people were not taught manners. I watch your videos to learn not to hope you make a mistake so I can point it out! Keep up the good work.
One nice thing about detecting ocean beaches is that you can come back another day and the waves may have brought you new stuff besides what the people drop! For the wydi, I'm guessing silver ring.
Hey Jim. I was looking back on my old Facebook videos trying to find a page from you. I’m really curious, why do the California beach hunters seem to find so much gold and old coins all the time? I wonder if you have a theory? thanks so much for answering and thanks for putting out these great videos. I have to say I do miss the beautiful surfer images you used to put on your thumbnails.
Southern California beaches have high volume of people year round and the surf is very strong. As far as old coins, it is very rare to find silver coins unless a large swell created a nice exposed treasure patch aka collection area.
Where would I find a source for the Etiquette you speak of? I’ve only watched a few of your type videos and it has been mentioned that metal detectors fill holes. Now, I hear there are actually forms of etiquette that I should be aware of should I have an opportunity to get into your hobby/sport. Thank you.
etiquette is subjective but fill your holes unless the ocean is doing it for you, take everything you dig with you & dispose in trash cans not just dump back on the ground. If someone is gridding an area, give them the distance they need to continue to grid. That about sums it up, go have fun and enjoy the time on the beach.
Is that an X-Tera Pro? Have not had much time to learn mine I had a Garett AT Pro but the coil went bad. Any tips for the Minelab Machine? Great video as well I live in Michigan and just a few miles from lake Michigan and the beaches. Thanks` again for the video.
Is it legal to detect on the beach without permission? Also, does your detector have to be water proof to use in and near water? New subscriber! Can you do a video showing what equipment you should have with you? Please
Jim...you are a genuine gentleman. You fill your digs religiously You even care about the bees and sand crabs! You lead by example. BTW...I love your " gold dance"!! WYDI....Bobby pin?
Great video Jim ! And you are a def pro at this. These arm chair quarterbacks are the haters out there that are the ones that know nothing about beach detecting. I have never seen you leave an open hole anywhere. Keep swingin and keep up the great videos. We will cross paths sometime at the beach
Great Hunt, Jim. Gold ring happy dance in your vid was great!!! Congrats! Listen, Trolls always comment dumb stuff on my holes too--mulch even. Pay Them no mind. I Love watching you dig sand--i dig dirt & mud. I'm on Lake Erie (not tidal) which has constant waves however; legally, we can only dig beaches Oct.-May here Boo! I would love to dig a beach right now! Thanks for taking us along. It is Fun w/ Jim! thanks
Hi Jim, nice finds this week! You should rant more often if you're going to hit targets like that!!I think that this week's dig it is a stainless steel ring!
I hope you can become accustomed to negative comments and not feel ou have to react to them. And if you do feel you need to respond, I hope you can respond without getting angry. Because that is exactly what people who make nasty comments are seeking.
Nice to see Hailey helping you , dime or copper one cent would be normal guess but than we are dealing with Jim so I am going to say that 22-K bangle bracelet .
Being that I detect a lot of parks I would say that is a silver ring. As for the hole's thing, there will always be people that have something negative to say. I think common sense is lacking a bit in this day and age, there's a lot of factors that go into whether I fill my holes or not, some people will never understand. You can lead a horse to water but never make it drink. Keep up the good work and congrats on the finds!
Holes lol our beaches loose a couple hundred thousand tons of sand each day bad weather lol were we hunt for old stuff one needs a boat to get there lol
@@brettellis1837hey thanks. Im wondering specifically about the little ref plastic piece in the center of the coil. Keeps the coil ears from breaking too easily. Couldn't imagineit being more than 20$
@@lilboosta6171 me I got 3 I am in qld Australia 🇦🇺. Cost me 150.00 for 3 yep 3. But saves coil get both. Only got just for my 800 nox900 now have carbon fiber shaft bit cheaper.
I do get people that want to see what I just dug but I do not offer up showing anyone except friends what I have found. Never has anyone ever tried to claim something while on the beach.
What another great hunt..I’d be in heaven finding all those rings. Ok for this WYDI I’m going to guess silver ring. Oh Jim i was wondering what you were talking about when you said Layering?
Layering is when you find a treasure patch loaded with targets caused by current and swells creating collection area, You just keep digging, uncovering layers and layers of new targets.
You are one of the best with holes, especially extracting gold and silver from them. Nice video Jim.😊
Oh my goodness. That was so much fun to watch. I really like you calling out the numbers with the beeps.
Great job!

Just got my first detector from Amazon! Can’t wait to give it a go!
And there's another Happy Dance! LOL! Congrats man!
Always like to see ya Jim. The most respectful detectorist I know 🤗
I like hunting at the end of the day. You can see where beach goeers had their chairs and towels.
I love your videos. The idea that you get criticized on your own videos is just crazy! Some people were not taught manners. I watch your videos to learn not to hope you make a mistake so I can point it out! Keep up the good work.
I think the WYDI is a silver dime. The can opener is a "contactless key" so you can push buttons without touching. They became big during covid
Nice hunt my friend, I hunt daily here on the treasure coast and space coast, great video, Fireman Jim
One nice thing about detecting ocean beaches is that you can come back another day and the waves may have brought you new stuff besides what the people drop! For the wydi, I'm guessing silver ring.
Definitely I’d dig it..I’m gonna say it’s a quarter !!
I like finding gold too!

What’s going on Jim! New to the channel, love the videos! Where can I get a metal detector like yours ?
I got mine on Amazon, Minelab Equinox 900 is what I use but all the Equinox models are great on the beach.

I use the Nox 900, there are lot of tips but biggest is just getting use to the machine so I suggest running all metal mode.
IWD that dime, every time!
Hi Jim! Really enjoy your videos. Quick question: what's the best way to clean up those corroded/tarnished? Coins you found?
I tumble with stainless steel jewelry cleaning media and toilet bowl cleaner.
Good video Jim. Lots of cool "finds". Take Care.
A well deserved like
Some days it would be hard for me to leave the beach if i was finding lots of nickles. I think the wydi is a silver quarter.

Yes, legal in California. a good beach detector is important and most are water resistant.

Hey Jim nice hunt!
Quick question- what coil ear stiffener are you using? Ive heard to avoid the 3d printed ones but thats all i can seem to find
Carbon fiber kit from detect edd has the coil savers plus I use the ai from sting ray.😂.
Price was 219.00 here 4 weeks later 95.00 for same kitbag save on that.😂
