I found 5 Rings, GOLD & Silver, lots of coins and so much fun I have to do it again. This is why i detect so much! I love metal detecting Huntington Beach, California.
Another great video, Jim. Love all of the targets you are hitting. I do think you are being a little tough on the hunters who are complaining about the number of hunters nowadays. I've been hunting the S. CA beaches since 1980 and at my beaches, which are north of you, there are definitely more hunters. Not a bad thing, the more the merrier. But some of these beaches are being over-hunted. We get 3 shifts: 6 PM to midnight, midnight to 5 or 6 and then the normal bunch (me included) between 5 & 6. The bummer is that there are seldom enough coins to keep you going, especially on weekends. No trash either. But a ton of open holes which is just terrible. Weekdays are better so my retired buddies generally have fun and some success during the week. But on a Sunday at say, Santa Monica or Venice, you will be lucky to dig 2 bucks in clad in 4 or 5 hours of swinging. I really think it's that the detectors are so good and so user friendly that you can just jump in and do well. As for me, I work a full time job and giving up half of my Sunday to drive to the beach and find nothing really isn't a whole lot of fun, despite the beautiful environment. So I am kind of bailing on weekends for now or hunting inland That's why I enjoy your videos so much. It reminds me of why I still to this day love the hobby as much as I did in 1972 when I bought my first detector with my mom. Keep the videos coming! Bill
I am not being tough on the hunters at all, I was only speaking about the negative statements of other RUclips Channels complaining about all the metal detectorists on the beach. This is a hobby they promote and then to poopoo on the detectorists that are enjoying themselves on the beach is shameful. We RUclipsrs are ambassadors to this hobby.
Summer time was the only time I enjoyed metal detecting with my dad. Shortly before the end of summer break, we would hunt the little stone beaches and playgrounds for coins, and I always got a bunch of it to spend on sweets. Digging in the german woods was less fun. Although we found roman gold coins and artifacts from the middle ages, we also found a lot of wwII B.'s and we always had to call the police so they could take care of them, before they explode in our faces. The most spooky incident was when we found an unmarked mass grave of skeletons.
Sounds to me like there is some people out there juust likes to complain. Since they werent out there with you they were home thinking of something else to complain about. Where did RESPECT stop showing up. You are older than some and been detecting probably much longer and know your stuff. Nice hunt. The wydi is a silver dime.
Awesome Hunting Tonight ,Jim. You're Right, We Are All About the Hunt. Haters Hit My Chan Complaining I Dig Dirt... 🤣🤣🤣 Yeah, I Dig Dirt for Gold & Silver. Keep Diggin' Jim! I Will... 👋😁 Love Your Beach Hunting! I'll Still Dig Ohio Dirt but Would Love a Beach Hunt! 👍
I would totally dig another quarter with you. I am with you on not bad mouthing the hobbies of other people, especially when they keep the beaches cleaner than they start out with. Love following your adventures. BTW, how old were you when you first started out with metal detecting?
I first detected with my father at 7 years old then on my own when I turned 13. I found enough good stuff with his detector that I could afford to buy my own at 14.
Excuse me Jim? You know it would be nice to pause with the camera a heart beat to focus on your finds. You keep covering the find with your hand or turning, moving and the camera doesn’t focus. Would have liked to see blue stoned ring a little more.
Hey Jim, where do you get your scooper from? I would like to buy one. I’ve gone through three that break within a few months. Can you direct me to a good one?
BE CAREFUL JIMMY! or that dude from East Coast (susan’s hubby) is gonna accuse you of seeding your scoop like he did Daniel LOL. ;) Great finds btw! Yer an official 33rd Degree Quarterist…. NOW YOU KNOW ALL THE SECRETS..
I could care less about the jealous jerks, I have been called bad names since I started my channel. Mike from NH is just a extremely jealous human, that is why he isn't well liked on RUclips. I have always told people to come and detect next to me or come hold my camera, I hunt for 5 to 6 hours usually and none of the jealous losers have taken me up on that offer and the two that have are friends and fans now. I love this hobby and I could care less about what anyone else thinks.
I do find 50 to 60 pieces of gold a year, I only produce a video a week. So I totally understand when people say I must be fake because I find gold in almost every video. However, I do only edit the gold found videos and have saved thousands of hours of non gold found clips.
@@funwithjim I LOVE watching you Jim. I have been detecting since 1976 when my dad bought a Radio Shack detector but I am no good at it LOL. I do have THE upmost respect for your mad skills. Truly though you’d be nothing without Haley ;). J/K but I do love that lil kermudgeon!
Great finds Jim! I applaud your dedication and your love for your hobby. Your upbeat attitude is inspiring! Keep up the good work! WYDI- I’m guessing it’s a dime?
Nice finds! I wouldn’t worry too much about naysayers 😊do what makes ya happy. It’s not hurting anyone and you’re helping keep beaches safe and clean. 🥰for Hailey
Always look forward to your Thursday video's! You are going to have put out a few more bonus videos if you expect to get thru those other bags of finds! 🙂
Tons of targets, makes my knees hurt. I'm surprised you dont have an electronic gold tester. A MD club member has a nice one, around 400 bucks I think. I believe the GAW is a vape. Thanks!
Awesome hunt Jim love that gold ring and I’ll take some bling jewelry over trash any day😊, I’m with you the more the merrier hunting the beach, makes me slow down to make sure I don’t miss anything. WYD Jim is a sliver dime
What area are you searching in, I haven’t found that much here in southern California! I was president of a Southern California metal detecting group for 2 years, but I still didn’t find a lot! I found more on San Diego beaches with my old machine ( Garrett 350 without number read out) over different areas and beaches then at Santa Monica beach! I guess it depends on the day, the beach conditions and the population of the area!
Do you have a picture of it and can you describe it? I do not sell any of my gold or valuable items I find on the beach. My bag tag and place and safety deposit box for either return or my retirement. You can provide a close up and some detailed information and the year that you lost it. I can look through my archives because I have found thousands of gold wedding rings over the year.
Wow you're awesome! , but I lost it while surfing (came out of my leash pocket) in about 2000-01. It was a plain white gold mens wedding band. Probably kinda small for a man's band. I'm boney! 😂😂😂
Well another fine hunt. I have finally arrived here in your beautiful backyard. As soon as we can get situated I’m gonna hit the beach. Keep it up
Can't believe I won last week. This week my guess is a copper penny. Thanx jim
Congratulations!!!
@vickyowens4064 thank you !!

Great hunt! Thanks 4 cleaning up the trash on the beach! Do you find syringes? How do you handle the disposal? GL & HH
I try to put syringes in plastic water bottles, sometimes I have to bend the needle and stick a piece of seaweed on it to prevent it from sticking me.
I would dig that key
Was it just me, or did the little one look like they fell in the hole? I'm guessing WYDI is a bicentennial quarter this week
I would dig it coin dime
Hmm i think its a gold pendant
Excuse me Jim? You know it would be nice to pause with the camera a heart beat to focus on your finds. You keep covering the find with your hand or turning, moving and the camera doesn’t focus. Would have liked to see blue stoned ring a little more.
WYDI is a silver plated ring
It is fun finding gold !!
awesome, Thank you!
Hey Jim, where do you get your scooper from? I would like to buy one. I’ve gone through three that break within a few months. Can you direct me to a good one?
CKGscoops .com is where I got mine. If you use FWJ at check out they will give you 10% and free shipping.
He's probably the most accused because his skill set, and knowledge is so good that people just don't understand it!
I could care less about the jealous jerks, I have been called bad names since I started my channel. Mike from NH is just a extremely jealous human, that is why he isn't well liked on RUclips. I'm a Garrett user, they don't handle the salt conditions very well. Maybe the new Vortex model will gap the divide.
Jim, I would dig that toy car.
we love your content
and I love CKG, How is Dymtro doing? I have not heard from him in a long while...
Great finds today!!! Awesome quarter haul. Would you dig up a piece of foil.
Wish I knew of you 20 yrs ago. Lost my wedding ring right where you go.

I would dig it! It’s a bottle cap/top.😊
Yes I would dig it. A silver chain.
They outlawed detecting of parks and along the river in our town because some of the people would dig big holes and not refill them. WYDI---toy car
That is sad, I know Laguna Beach has mentioned it a few times but have not outlawed it yet.
I find it so funny that out of all the toys you could find, it’s always a car….? Why does the universe work that way?😊
Great hunt!!! Why aren't you using the Deus?
I would dig that silver plated ring
Nickle
Happy Thursday 💍👓🕶️💍
Jim I’m still struggling with that 900. I’m going with a pendant . Thanks.
👍👍👍😁
I would dig that memorial penny
Hi Jim, I think this weeks wydi is a toy car
Seeing other detectorists out there doesn’t bother me. There’s always plenty of treasure left to find. WYDI is a penny.
