I know I was looking at the Simplex Ultra but a Legend came up (5months old) with headphones for £300 locally so I got it! Soooo, I’m now looking to learn the Legend! Great vid as always.
Thanks, Adam, for another informative video ;) Me detector was on 1.11 (out of the box) and had no issues, went to 1.15 and found the pinpointer behave not correct, of target and got to dig like you next to the hole (coil to the ground). Had to put it on M3 as you did, wet conditions. I was not happy with 1.15, so went to 1.13. Seems to be back as before on the 1.11, but still have to try it out, but too much rain here for the moment. I have not enough practice with the machine, so will stay on the 1.13 for a while and try the 1.15 later on. Keep the videos coming :)
Great video as usual Adam. With the iffy signals, I would always take the top off and have another listen. I would say dig every half decent signal regardless.
I've only been detecting since September last year with the legend. I tend to dig all signals unless it has an iron grunt, my thought process on it is the time I've spent swinging the detector over the item and deciding if I should dig it or not I could of dug it. I've had hammered coins that sound wispy and unstable on the vdi. And I've had a gold ring that atleast 5 other detectorist have walked over on club dig before I found it. Would rather dig it all and have a pocket full of trash knowing I've not left anything in the ground. Not all items are laying perfectly in the soil and give a perfect sounding signal.
plenty of targets onnan events ground but as you know its likely to be modern coinage or pull tabs and foil. Good to try the new settings out there though. the hook thing is like something that is used to hold a door open, maybe off a horse box or catering van or something 👍
Awesome video, I am finding it hit and miss tbh as behaviour was erratic one day to the next rolled back to 1.13 and back to being stable again. Seems others are having teething issues too, one plus was the beast mode and Dt uncovered targets I missed on my same permissions
Any update will take time to get used to. If one thing is changed on a machine it will have a knock on effect. You just need to be patient with any new update and readjust your settings slightly. The same way you would with a new machine.
@@DTEKTSUSSEX thanks for the reply, definitely will be trying it out again when this weather gets better here up north. Picked up a lot of patience learning the machine but the update was fine then went erratic on the same field, still love my Legend
good video i love the legend. still not convinced that the latest update is for me at this time ? 1.11 works ok for me good depth stable and good audio tones
Very helpful. Your patience in the face of repeated bottle caps is encouraging! A problem I often have with the Legend on plough soil is trying to reduce random signals from damp bunches of grass, or at the end of a sweep. I do ground balancing and frequency shift but sometimes it is still very noisy with lots of chatter and falsing. On this video, yours is very quiet. Do you have any thoughts about that perhaps?
Moisture is highly conductive so it will generally have an impact. Give M3 a try first as it's designed to cope with wet conditions better. Other than that, you could adjust the stability and sensitivity settings.
Try ground balance at 0 like others manufacturers recommends on their MF machines, much more stable and I see no drawbacks in depth and separation, I prefer to run GB 0 and sens at 27 rather than adjusting GB and having to use M3 with low sensitivity or high iron filter. Give it a go
Hi Adam hope to meet you one day at one of the Hayling Island clubs meets. Dumb question about the Legend program slots, ive heard there is 16 programs 4 for each mode, is this really the case or it just 4?
I also have the LG24. But maybe not as deep. And I'm still having trouble homing in on targets. I usually end up digging large holes chasing signals. In spite of doing the wiggly thing and the 90° check. Perhaps the LG30 will be more targeted.
The 24 will be more precise. It's hard to say what the trouble is without being there with you. Make sure the coil is 100% flat relative to the ground...if the angle is a bit off it can skew where you think the target is. Otherwise, try dropping a coin on the surface and practice pinpointing a target you can see.
Adam is it normal to find nothing on a beach? I spent two hours on St Annes beach today and got nothing, not even a coin. I was using the Legend in beach mode. I know it works because i tested it on a few coins and a gold ring.
Without knowing the beach in question it's difficult to say for sure but it is entirely possible to not find much or even anything. Make sure you're looking out for places targets are likely to collect or be dropped. Towel lines and areas in front of attractions/restaurants/ice cream vans are good. Also rock pools, sea defences etc. It's a very different style of detecting compared to land hunting. I'd say it's more challenging because the tides can move targets around a lot. Keep at it. Perhaps try a different area of the beach?
@@DTEKTSUSSEX It is just south of Blackpool. I tried the pier area and the part where people sit. Then i moved out to where the sea meets the sand. I found some black sand which i thought was a good sign but nothing.
I haven't used the AT Max but I understand it's a single frequency machine. Multi frequency machines like the Legend should penetrate the ground deeper in most conditions compared to single frequency ones 👍
The lack of utube support for go pro unless you have millions of viewers.. It's almost unwatchable.. Which is a shame.. Better off with a decent phone is more supported

26:30 is a door stay. It latches a door fully open. Used on boats and caravans. Good video Adam.
Thanks for continually putting out excellent vids helping Nokta users!

Treasure hunting is good exercise
Another great video Adam, thanks for sharing this buddy, best regards Kelvin 👍👏👏😃

These fields give me everything from Modern coins to silver pre-decimals. Lots of history here to be found still 😊👍

Why is the coil cable blue? Is it like a cover to protect the cable? Looks good!
Thanks! It's called a Snake Skinz cable protector. Mostly just looks good if I'm honest 😅

Thanks. I will.
Lower your recovery speed also. I have had good results going as low as one,1
🙏
I have found 2 KC3 50ps on the beach on the iow
Hi! Lovely channel. Future Legend owner here. Could you tell me where you got your cool cable cover? Cheers.
Hi!
The covers are SnakeSkinz and I got them from LPMETALDETECTING.COM 👍
Thanks for watching and happy hunting out there!
Hi Adam hope to meet you one day at one of the Hayling Island clubs meets. Dumb question about the Legend program slots, ive heard there is 16 programs 4 for each mode, is this really the case or it just 4?
Hi!
It's just 4 profiles in total 👍
@@DTEKTSUSSEX thanks so if i set a program in field it will be the same program in park, beach and gold?
You can save settings for each mode in one user profile. Then different settings for each mode in the second user profile and so on.
May I ask what coil you are using? Is that the new stock coil? My old detector came with a circular coil as stock but i find It quite heavy.
Hi,
Yes, it's the newer stock: LG30 😊👍
I'll give it a go.

That's the way the hobby goes sometimes. Even on land.
The positive is that you got out. If it's not there you won't find it.
Bring out a couple of test coins and objects. This would replicate anything you may find in the sand.
Is Legend deeper metal detector als Garrett At Max?

I’m surprised how deep items get so quickly.
What’s your real opinion on the new update on the legend 1.15.
All good so far! This is the only chance I've had to play with it so far.
Esse dt funciona pra você, menos pra mim. Minha terra é super vermelha, nada dessas configurações funciona pra mim.
Why Park instead of Field - if you're in a field
Good question! This is an events field so it's full of trash. Park is generally best for that.
Picture quality not that good apart from that good vid mate

I only film on a phone. I've never used a go-pro 👍
