    My daddy tweeted his metal detector to sound a different pitch with aluminum/poptabs, etc. He would hear the beep, find the treasure and we kids would cover up the holes. LOL. He was a real treasure finder. This was back in the 60’s/70’s.

    I lived in Fort Myers for 5 years and only went to the beach once for about 2 hours. I'm not a beach person. I'd rather walk the beach at night.
    I moved back to New England bc Florida just wasn't for me, but I'm very interested in metal detecting, always was. Maybe I'll take it up as a hobby in my retirement.

    My husband lost his diamond and gold ring on the beach one month into the marriage. I kind of feel sad thinking someone must have found and sold it already. We couldn't afford to get him another one because they are so expensive. It's been 7 years.

    The 10k ring, we know as a Trojan Ring. Very popular as signet rings in the 80's and 90's in the UK.

    Our condo complex on Ft. Myers Beach was destroyed in 2022 by Hurricane Ian. Since it still hasn't been rebuilt we rented a place for this winter. I was on the fence about whether to bring my metal detector with me this winter, thinking all i would find is trash left over from the storm. However after watching this I leaning towards bring it along. Thanks!

    I’m glad you said you didn’t really find nothing cause I tried metal detecting and found about 10 nails and it felt like I was doing something wrong so to hear you say you didn’t have anything, I’m not so discouraged, thank you for sharing I have learned a lot just watching these! I used to be the person who thought it looked funny, but now it’s me and it’s so fun, well when you find stuff haha the search continues!! 👍

    Hey, we love watching your hunts. I think the beautiful split diamond ring might have been a wedding band. When my friend’s husband passed away, she had his band cut and shaped just like the one you found.

    How do you keep everything from falling? I know I’m still new and I got to use my metal detector once but I couldn’t handle it holding everything at the same time. Is there a trick?

      My scoop handle floats, so I'm able to toss it in the water and not worry about losing it. That frees up a hand to hold anything else :)

    been raining here in california. got the V12 coil for my vanquish 340. and the rain cover. ,it was only $60 on craigslist. but real easy to use. found $.27 and a pair of shears ,the 2 hours i was at the beach. days ago. have a good day.

    The water sure is muddy down there compared to a little further north in the Sarasota/St. Pete/Clearwater area. Nice scores for both you guys. Nice to see people swimming again!

    That’s a cool older ring called an intaglio style, meaning carved in rather than cameo style which is raised.

    Ft. Myers Beach??? I graduated from Ft Myers High. It sure has hanged a bunch. Is that whats left of the old Ft Myers Pier??? That hurricane really did a lot of damage. The old open air restaurant /eating area that use to be at the base is probably completely gone completely. Do the plan to rebuild the pier???

      All of those restaurants are totally gone :( They're rebuilding the pier, but it probably won't happen until next year. It's gonna be a long time until that area feels normal again

    I was detecting in a rodeo arena at a fairground in a tiny town in Utah and found a lion pendant identical to yours, except mine was silver tone

    You should powder coat your scooper black so that jewelry, shiny things show up better.

      The only issue is that sand is sooooo abrasive. A company currently makes powder coated scoops, and the powder coat lasts about 2 hours

    When your going back and forth water to beach are you using the red plug ? Also are the bone conducting phones good ?

    I found out because your body is a huge percentage of water when you’re in it that’s why fingers etc shrinks and jewels fall off. Better to remove before going near water

      Thank you! That's always a concern. I need my machines to be running in tip top shape, so they get a good freshwater bath after every hunt

      The water was surprisingly warm! I think we finally got over the cold winter weather, and I won't have to wear a wetsuit again until next season :)

    Hey man do you have any tips on setting on the Deus2 in the Florida saltwater beach? I hunt lakes in Louisiana and feel I know my machine well. Just hoping for a few tip’s before I head over there.

      The sensitivity of the factory beach programs is way too high. I set it back to around 80, and change the ground balance to tracking. It will really help stabilize the machine in salt water

    Son why dont you make you a floating sifter ,not much to it ,a four foot piece of 1 and a half inch piece of pipe four 90 degree connectors, foam pipe insulation some wire ties a piece of mesh wire of your choosing and a para cord landyard to tie to your belt .it would save you lots of time and make checking your scoop much easier ,Love your videos ,been watching for a few weeks ,we have snow here .I have a sister and brother in law that in your area ,Always wanted to hunt beaches but wont leave home ,Im a rookie detector Im 73 and never got out of the yard to hunt,Dumber than a chicken.

      Out in the gulf, there's too much current. It could be potentially dangerous to have something tied to me like that. I also get hit by waves which would thrash the sifter around. A floating sifter is much better suited for lake/river hunting where its a lot calmer

      I've been detecting Sanibel for years and still haven't had a good day out there! People tell me that it's great to detect there, but I'm having a hard time believing them! lol

    I would think an area like ft meyers would have a bunch of hurricane debris and metals from getting washed around?

      There is SO much debris. They did a pretty good job getting it out of the dry sand, but couldn't do anything in the water. Me and a bunch of friends spent days and days clearing out debris and all kinds of hazards from the hurricane. The water north of the pier still isn't safe to walk around barefoot. There's just too much there
