The cool thing about this guy, if you lost something recently, you can contact him, he will try his best to help! He’s a good human! Also, he doesn’t want any money! Again, he’s a good human!
Awesome rings, first hole! When that lady was standing beside you and you blurted out "beavertail" I thought oh oh I hope she knows metal detecting lingo! I got a great laugh this morning thank you.
Congrats on finding the ring and the pendant!! I get a strong sense of satisfaction just watching you sift the sand out of your scoop---glad when you find more than a 'freaking pull tab!' Good job!
My daddy tweeted his metal detector to sound a different pitch with aluminum/poptabs, etc. He would hear the beep, find the treasure and we kids would cover up the holes. LOL. He was a real treasure finder. This was back in the 60’s/70’s.
I often look in this area where people hang out... "hopefully losing stuff during the day" 😂 If I ever need a smile, your channel will bring it to me. I'm so glad I found you today and subscribed.
I lived in Fort Myers for 5 years and only went to the beach once for about 2 hours. I'm not a beach person. I'd rather walk the beach at night. I moved back to New England bc Florida just wasn't for me, but I'm very interested in metal detecting, always was. Maybe I'll take it up as a hobby in my retirement.
My husband lost his diamond and gold ring on the beach one month into the marriage. I kind of feel sad thinking someone must have found and sold it already. We couldn't afford to get him another one because they are so expensive. It's been 7 years.
Our condo complex on Ft. Myers Beach was destroyed in 2022 by Hurricane Ian. Since it still hasn't been rebuilt we rented a place for this winter. I was on the fence about whether to bring my metal detector with me this winter, thinking all i would find is trash left over from the storm. However after watching this I leaning towards bring it along. Thanks!
I’m glad you said you didn’t really find nothing cause I tried metal detecting and found about 10 nails and it felt like I was doing something wrong so to hear you say you didn’t have anything, I’m not so discouraged, thank you for sharing I have learned a lot just watching these! I used to be the person who thought it looked funny, but now it’s me and it’s so fun, well when you find stuff haha the search continues!! 👍
Hey, we love watching your hunts. I think the beautiful split diamond ring might have been a wedding band. When my friend’s husband passed away, she had his band cut and shaped just like the one you found.
How do you keep everything from falling? I know I’m still new and I got to use my metal detector once but I couldn’t handle it holding everything at the same time. Is there a trick?
been raining here in california. got the V12 coil for my vanquish 340. and the rain cover. ,it was only $60 on craigslist. but real easy to use. found $.27 and a pair of shears ,the 2 hours i was at the beach. days ago. have a good day.
Loved the vid....I'm looking at getting into metal detecting so I'm watching vids on you tube to get some info :) it's so exciting, wanted to do this for years 😊
The water sure is muddy down there compared to a little further north in the Sarasota/St. Pete/Clearwater area. Nice scores for both you guys. Nice to see people swimming again!
Ft. Myers Beach??? I graduated from Ft Myers High. It sure has hanged a bunch. Is that whats left of the old Ft Myers Pier??? That hurricane really did a lot of damage. The old open air restaurant /eating area that use to be at the base is probably completely gone completely. Do the plan to rebuild the pier???
All of those restaurants are totally gone :( They're rebuilding the pier, but it probably won't happen until next year. It's gonna be a long time until that area feels normal again
Like most of the videos. You are correct about competition. I am not going to do what you do. I like watching though. I have a fear of sharks and they probably know it.
What an AWESOME dig. From old man noises (which you were guilty of too 😂😂) to those gorgeous rings. You must be looking forward to summer getting closer. Ours has just finished here in 🇦🇺
You know what, respect for that opening line and recognizing sometimes you just don't find diddly. Too much clickbait out there and I appreciate you keeping it real.
Haha thank you!!! I don't want to waste anyone's time with a crappy video. I'd rather have no video than to make you guys watch me find nothing but trash lol
this is so fun!! could you share what kind of metal detector you're using? i'm guessing there is a wide range of options out there... thanks for sharing your fun days.
@@DetectFlorida thank you. i am really enjoying watching your videos...reminds me of home...but you are quite brave...i don't think i would ever go in that deep of water...
Great video! I always smile when i see a beach and your scoop in the thumbnail. It will be interesting to see your finds during/after college spring break season!😁 16:58
I found out because your body is a huge percentage of water when you’re in it that’s why fingers etc shrinks and jewels fall off. Better to remove before going near water
Hey thanks for the video’s. Really enjoyed watching. One question do you have to take any precautions or do you worry about the salt water effects on your equipment
Looks like the weather is really nice. Did anyone get too cold to stay in the water? I can’t even pass up a penny signal. Our beaches up north of Jacksonville are bare lately! Nice video either way great ring finds!
Hey man do you have any tips on setting on the Deus2 in the Florida saltwater beach? I hunt lakes in Louisiana and feel I know my machine well. Just hoping for a few tip’s before I head over there.
The sensitivity of the factory beach programs is way too high. I set it back to around 80, and change the ground balance to tracking. It will really help stabilize the machine in salt water
Son why dont you make you a floating sifter ,not much to it ,a four foot piece of 1 and a half inch piece of pipe four 90 degree connectors, foam pipe insulation some wire ties a piece of mesh wire of your choosing and a para cord landyard to tie to your belt .it would save you lots of time and make checking your scoop much easier ,Love your videos ,been watching for a few weeks ,we have snow here .I have a sister and brother in law that in your area ,Always wanted to hunt beaches but wont leave home ,Im a rookie detector Im 73 and never got out of the yard to hunt,Dumber than a chicken.
Out in the gulf, there's too much current. It could be potentially dangerous to have something tied to me like that. I also get hit by waves which would thrash the sifter around. A floating sifter is much better suited for lake/river hunting where its a lot calmer
I've been detecting Sanibel for years and still haven't had a good day out there! People tell me that it's great to detect there, but I'm having a hard time believing them! lol
There is SO much debris. They did a pretty good job getting it out of the dry sand, but couldn't do anything in the water. Me and a bunch of friends spent days and days clearing out debris and all kinds of hazards from the hurricane. The water north of the pier still isn't safe to walk around barefoot. There's just too much there
I'm so happy to see you collect the litter.thank you🧡⭐
the 10K ring looks like an intaglio ring. looks like a great day for all of you!

Looks like a pretty place to safari a detecting trip. Gold Baby!
fun way to clean up the beach

The 10k ring, we know as a Trojan Ring. Very popular as signet rings in the 80's and 90's in the UK.

How do you keep everything from falling? I know I’m still new and I got to use my metal detector once but I couldn’t handle it holding everything at the same time. Is there a trick?
My scoop handle floats, so I'm able to toss it in the water and not worry about losing it. That frees up a hand to hold anything else :)
No schools for alot of things,we figure it out when doing ,we teach our selfs the easy-to-use ways and balance.perfect practice makes perfect.😊

There's still so many hazards in the water. I wouldn't get in there without some kind of shoes on
That’s a cool older ring called an intaglio style, meaning carved in rather than cameo style which is raised.

You should powder coat your scooper black so that jewelry, shiny things show up better.
The only issue is that sand is sooooo abrasive. A company currently makes powder coated scoops, and the powder coat lasts about 2 hours

Hey thanks for the video’s. Really enjoyed watching. One question do you have to take any precautions or do you worry about the salt water effects on your equipment
