I watched a lady who searches for shells along beaches. Well she collects trash when she sees it. And tallys the weight up. Saves the info. End of 2024 she took up off beaches, 60 Pounds!! And so, you guys doing your part, it all is just wonderful. Can't imagine if no one took the time, what would the beaches would be like
Love your videos. Binged on your two and three year-old videos yesterday. Really fun to see a new one today. Beaches in Minnesota don’t produce much. I’m usually digging up tractor parts in the field. 😂
Hi Shawn! I received the Tshirt i bought! Love the watermelon color! I bought it big to wear as a night shirt or a beach cover up when its warm. Yay me!-LIzzie
Never a dull moment when you find a "buddy" puffer fish and a "grenade" shell casing! Thanks for sharing and Murphy's Law smacked your detecting pal with an expensive earing found one step out of his car! Have a Happy New Year and I'm looking forward to a wealth of cool "Detect Florida" videos!
Oh good, a nice warm Florida day for detecting. It’s snowing here in Kansas right now and I’m freezing even though it’s warm inside. Love it when you get the freakin pull tabs. This is my favorite thing to watch on these cold snowy days.😅
Since you are my fave detectorist, I wanted to share my first find: a crusty old penny. It was a 25. I’m searching along the Colorado River in SW AZ. The water is down a few feet due to agricultural watering. I’m hooked!
Hi Shawn, Happy New Year! I hope you have a wonderful year. I was really happy to see your video pop up, been missing you. If you are close to home, you are a brave man. Cold here in Temple Terrace. Love your channel, thanks for sharing. Take care, stay safe.
Today had to be the day I decide to play the Freakin' Pulltab drinking game using moscato instead of tea. You (rather helpfully) provided us with a running tally of the Freakin' Pulltabs that were found...but you also snuck in altogether far too many FP mentions for my sobriety. You usually mention them three or four times in a video and I usually toast them with a sip of tea. Today you have outdone yourself and I am left completely legless (due to the abovementioned moscato). Thank goodness I am safe at home and have nowhere to be, because I am truly unfit for human consumption. But before you start to feel sorry for me, take comfort in the knowledge that I find myself completely hilarious and am therefore kept well entertained.
A happy 2025 to you and yours, Shawn ! I believe that is a flare gun casing, but I am not an expert. You don't have to find gold for the videos to be very interesting ! I love the learning aspect of watching your videos, and your enthusiasm is infectious ! Right now it's -25 C outside ( -14F ), with a wind, so not much metal detecting going on here in Winnipeg, Canada !
That shell is a 40mm. The kind used on the grenade launcher mounted under an M-16, or an M-79 grenade launcher. Most likely used for a flare round. Makes a helluva flash at night when you fire it.
Hi....as a jeweler I can tell you that many companies set moisanite, cubic zirconia, white sapphire, white zircon and diamond in 14kt gold. Never assume it's diamond!😇❤️
Happy New Year Shawn! 13:19 This could be a shell from a grappling hook canon. This canon will be used to shoot a small rope from one vessel to another. On this small rope is attached a bigger one and they pull this over to the other vessel. Normally used by Navy´s supply vessels. 15:32 HOHOHO Shawn! This could be Amber and if it is, you just make a sensationally found. Quick check if it is Amber: hold a flame on it and if it smell like a tree- It´s Amber.
I really like the suspense in if it is a good find or not. Most shows just show the high value stuff and that's fun but seeing other scoops with beer tabs or foil creates a bigger payoff and is just way more real life. Keep doing what you do, I enjoy it quite a bit. I live in Clearwater so tons of good beaches and the like, do a video over here sometime if you can.
The shell casing looks just like some antique flares that I have, they are fired out of a flare gun in emergency situations. I think that's what it is.
@@DetectFlorida I was pretty sure that was it so I pulled out one of these old flare guns and measured it, ever so slightly less than 40 mm. I took a couple of pictures but I'm not able to post them here. Is there a way to do that?
Watching from snowy St. Louis. Any way you could take us on a scuba diving adventure in the future? Love your videos and really enjoyed the puffer fish. Happy New Year!
That is how it works sometimes the best finds are on the ground on your way back to the car. I hunted the beach one time didn't find much. When I got off the beach I found a ten dollar bill in the street.
I concur with 40mm grenade casing. Looks very familiar to me, I carried those and used them in the M-203 grenade launcher and M-79. Air Force Security Forces...
Mr Shawn if you meet up with Mr Jon and Amy please thank them from the bottom of my heart Mr Jon and Amy have been so big hearted ❤️ God bless everyone 🙏
I had sent photos to a guy I know who lives and breathes guns, and he said that it looks like an M203 grenade launcher shell. I'm not an expert at all, so I was hoping someone more knowledgeable would chime in
The tiny puffer fish was cool to see
Its a big part of why I love water hunting. I'm a scuba enthusiast too! I absolutely love all of the marine life here

40 mm grenade casing. Happy New Year.
Correct i used 203 grenade launcher in the military. Was a fun weapon to shoot. Ploooooop
Thank you!!! Happy New Year!!
@@DetectFlorida thanks for all your amazing videos, happy new year
OMG puffer fish 🐠 adorable thanks so much for sharing. Happy new year 🎉😊
Freaking pull tab counter and sound effect is cool. That large casing was cool and so was the puffer fish. Keep the videos coming.
Thank you!!
Happy New Year… my favorite find was the teeny tiny puffer fish! He was adorable 🥰
He was!!! I don’t normally see little ones like that
Yes. Thank you for sharing the aquatic critters with us!
Love your videos. Binged on your two and three year-old videos yesterday. Really fun to see a new one today. Beaches in Minnesota don’t produce much. I’m usually digging up tractor parts in the field. 😂
The pulltab counter is a nice addition.
Haha I'm really curious as to how many I find. I've never kept track before, so I thought that this might be a fun way to do it :)
You always make me miss Sarasota, where I grew up. Fun hunt!
Yes I see some others have said what I was going to say so yeah 40 mm grande shell or casing
Keep on swinging make it fun and Happy Hunting 🙂👍
The blue rubber thing is a silicone lid to help keep your coffee/tea warm. And keep kitties and their fur out.
can't score every hunt-another good video
Hi Shawn! I received the Tshirt i bought! Love the watermelon color! I bought it big to wear as a night shirt or a beach cover up when its warm. Yay me!-LIzzie
That's awesome!!! Thank you so much!!! Happy New Year!

Haha!! That was so wild! I couldn't believe he could even spot such a tiny earring. I would have never seen that there!
Puffers, new pull tab counter, and a 40 caliber shell casing. It’s sleeting here in KY so watching the beach makes us a little warmer. Happy New Year!
Happy new year!!!!
M72 blooper round. Sweet!
15:35 that someone is me!!! That's a pretty cool looking Rock
I think that shell may be an older version of the 40mm grenade for the M203 grenade launcher.
Just a little older version.
Oh good, a nice warm Florida day for detecting. It’s snowing here in Kansas right now and I’m freezing even though it’s warm inside. Love it when you get the freakin pull tabs. This is my favorite thing to watch on these cold snowy days.😅
Haha it's still pretty cold here! (for Florida!)
@@DetectFlorida it’s 17 degrees here so even cold in Florida is warmer than here…lol
It’s chilly here but superrr nice still getting warm sunny days
Since you are my fave detectorist, I wanted to share my first find: a crusty old penny. It was a 25. I’m searching along the Colorado River in SW AZ. The water is down a few feet due to agricultural watering. I’m hooked!
Boom let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
Looks like a 40mm shell casing. Great day on the beach. Happy New Year from the Panhandle of Florida

Thanks Kathy!!! It's been pretty chilly here!!! I'm ready for the warm weather and for the spring breakers to come back!
Greetings from Tuscany.
Find of the day 100% was the rock that looked like a very shiny potato. I hope whoever you give it to loves it! Great find
Looks like an aviation 40mm grenade casing. The ones we used in the infantry were smaller and not brass or steel.
Thank you!

Beautiful beach😮😮😮
Good luck Mr Shawn hope you have a fantastic day lots of finds...
Thanks Jerry!!!

Awesome! Thank you!
Happy New Year!🎉
Looking forward to another year of pull tabs, junk and treasures!
😊❤️👍
Hi....as a jeweler I can tell you that many companies set moisanite, cubic zirconia, white sapphire, white zircon and diamond in 14kt gold. Never assume it's diamond!😇❤️
That thing you found looks like a Army M-79 grenade launcher shell case. Fires a 40*46mm grenade. Used during the Vietnam War.
Good morning on a freezing Sunday
I love the rock to paint a happy Stone 😊
16:27 no joke me and Chris are wearing the exact same Cletus hat today. 🤯
Nice hunt Shawn better luck next time 👊
Definitely a 40 mm grenade slash flare launcher🎉
Thank you!
Yay … Missed you last week!
I think it’s a casing from a flare gun.🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️. Happy new year!! Love the FPT counter!
Happy New Year Shawn!

Very cool! I've never seen anything like it on the beach before, so I had to grab it! I'll see if it smells 😊
Well does it smell@@DetectFlorida

Fun day! The little puffer fish puffed right on cue! Happy New Year, Shawn!
The shell casing looks just like some antique flares that I have, they are fired out of a flare gun in emergency situations. I think that's what it is.
I had thought that too, but at 40mm, it seems way too large for a flare. I could be totally wrong though!
@@DetectFlorida I was pretty sure that was it so I pulled out one of these old flare guns and measured it, ever so slightly less than 40 mm. I took a couple of pictures but I'm not able to post them here. Is there a way to do that?
Love seeing your videos, hope you had a good holiday!
40mm Flair more than likely.
If this was my beach, I’d be the one finding a 'treasure map' next to a rusty bike bell 😂
Happy New Year my friend. Don't guess you can finf gold every time. Good Job. Thanks for the ride.
I wish!! Gold is getting harder and harder to find these days
Happy New Year! May all your holes be full of gold! 😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you! Happy New Year to you as well!!
Happy New Year. Love all of your videos and the pull tab counter and sound is a creative addition. Are your hands not cold?
Happy New year to you.
Thank you! Happy new year!
Watching from snowy St. Louis. Any way you could take us on a scuba diving adventure in the future? Love your videos and really enjoyed the puffer fish. Happy New Year!
That’s definitely going to happen! I just need to find more people who want to come diving with me haha
Good morning budy from Greenwood NY snowing cold 16°
That is how it works sometimes the best finds are on the ground on your way back to the car. I hunted the beach one time didn't find much. When I got off the beach I found a ten dollar bill in the street.
Your find looks to be the casing for an M-203 round. Grenade round from some sort of training exercise possibly.
I concur with 40mm grenade casing. Looks very familiar to me, I carried those and used them in the M-203 grenade launcher and M-79. Air Force Security Forces...
So we're keeping track of pull tabs this year, I'm good with that. 🤣
Good morning from Mooresville, Indiana.
Good morning!!!
I would be pulling out unbroken sea shells for crafts and decor.😊
Hi happy new year . I hope you find lots of things this year. God bless
Thank you so much!! Happy New Year!!
What kind of headphones are you using water hunting?
I’m using the Aqua Tek headphones
Hi Happy New Year to you all.See you on the beach in a couple of weeks.🐢
Come on 60K 👍🏼
Getting close!!!
I was thinking a commercial grade flare casing?
Wow, $1,800 USA dollars for the metal detector.
Yeah, they don’t give them away. They’re worth it though!!! I’ve found much more in gold than the detector costs(even though I don’t sell it)
that is a flair shell
Shark teeth and glass come up on reader? or just in your scoop as you get other reads?
I just get lucky and happen to scoop them up with other targets
Mr Shawn if you meet up with Mr Jon and Amy please thank them from the bottom of my heart Mr Jon and Amy have been so big hearted ❤️ God bless everyone 🙏
I'm sure I'll be meeting back up with them to hunt this year :)
40mm mortar.
happy xmas n new year, i mean i hope u had a good one!!!!!
Is it a firework casing?
Can you explain how you grid off a section of beach thanks
Flare gun casing
Was it a flare?
I had sent photos to a guy I know who lives and breathes guns, and he said that it looks like an M203 grenade launcher shell. I'm not an expert at all, so I was hoping someone more knowledgeable would chime in
15:40 That "nice rock" could be amber.
I've never seen one on the beach before, so it really stuck out to me. Light shines right through it, and it looks really cool!
Quartz or yellow agate, common in landscaping stone mix around here. Still worth spritzing with shine and setting in a houseplant. :D
Signal flare casing.
40 mike mike aka 40mm
Haha that's what donut operator calls them. 👍🤣🤣
Been waiting……..
Haha! I'm back!!!
that is a 203 round from a grenade launcher
Thank you! Happy New Year!
40mm grenade, from an M203
What brand and kind of detector do you use?
What detector are you using?
Are you more successful at low or high tide east coast or west coast?
Shell is probably a flare
flare shell??
40 mill from a m203
Thank you!
20mm
❤😊❤
Somebody caught a bean bag round at that beach one day. Ouch ouch
Happy 2025 New Year all xx
Could it be from a flare gun?
It's a sunburst flare casing. I have one still unfired from 1962.
Awesome!!
looks like a 40mm grenade from a launcher
Wow you never know what you will find.
If you want to find gold try a real swanky beachfront hotel and sweep the parking lot and beach....
