I lost a zippo Harley Davidson lighter near Venice beach. It was a gift from my wife. Went back the next day to look for it and found a GoPro camera that belonged to a local legend surfer from Siesta Key. It had been in the ocean for two years and even went through a hurricane. Unbelievably he was able to retrieve all his pictures and videos. I never found my lighter, but I made a lifelong friend. Even got free surfing lessons for my granddaughter !!!
Thank you so much for being wholesome and showing us wild life that is NOT wearing a bikini. And for taking the trash with you instead of throwing it back. And for being honest and trying your best to always return the jewelry instead of hiding it from sight. And not trash talking the other detectorists behind their backs. I've been telling YT to not recommend those pervert jerk detector channels, but you are awesome.
I said freaking pull tab when you asked what do you think this is . Aww the dolphins how awesome .. great seeing you again this Sunday morning. Love from eastern Ontario!
Always fun watching someone doing something that he obviously thoroughly enjoys! The Dolphins were a super plus. When I was an avid golfer in Northern California part of the fun was seeing the wildlife which included a Fox climbing a tree. A mama cinnamon bear with her two clubs frolicking around the course (had bear warnings for a month after that one). A huge beaver crossing a fairway to get back into the stream that ran through the course. A pure white doe that would entertain us for many years. Countless turtles crowding a log to get to the morning sun rays, then watching one lay eggs in a sand trap. A huge goose that became a course pet that we named of course "Aflac". Eagles, red wing hawks, countless massively antlered deer that hunters would drool over yet completely protected by the park. Sometimes I would even go there to play golf! lol...thanks for sharing!
I don’t get to the beach as often as I’d like to, but watching your videos every week helps to give me my fix. We are so lucky to live in this beautiful state ❤.
Oh man this was such a good video! I can't pick a find of the day! It's either the big screwy thing or the hermit crab. The dolphins were awesome to see! But you're just so calm when it's coming right for you, I'm pretty sure I would have made the water a little warmer if I saw that 🤣 or those jelly fish 🤢. Thanks for braving the little jelly jerks for us!
You are so entertaining. It is so much fun to tag along with you. Great find. You are one of the good ones. I would love to see your display of all your treasures. I get excited when you are looking for someone’s ring and you find it. I like to see their reactions. Keep up the great work. ❤
Chances are that the "Silver Penny" you found is a Mercury coated Penny. Back in the 70's i remember rubbing mercury into pennies for science class. the penny should be safe as long as you dont eat it.
Awesome hunt Shawn and Chris congrats on the gold ring 👏 Congratulations Amy best of luck when you get out to hunt. I haven't been able to get out at all here in New York between the rain and snow but, maybe I'll be able to before the end of the year 👊👊👊
What a great video! Loved the spotlights on marine life. I see a lot here in Mexico too (originally a Florida gal). I learned a lot from your commentary about the sand. I'm new to metal detecting and enjoying it immensely. Thank you.
Omggg I wish I knew about this, but I just came upon your site. Congratulations to the winner. Hopefully one day I can win something cool like that. You’re an amazing person. Thank you for sharing everything you share.
@DetectFlorida it's almost impossible to find the owners of these middle of the ocean rings.. I only ever manage to return tidal pool finds... mostly the local community who swims in them regularly... open beach finds could belong to ANYBODY 😅
won a dr otek detector at a christmas party. (route 66 prospectors) ,know a kid needs a new detector. ,his bounty hunter got stepped on ,held together with plastic butter knives and duck tape. ,hope he likes the dr otek one. have a good day boss.
Awesome water hunt guys 👍🏻. Water temp 45.7F in Va. where I’m at but I’m still hitting it. Dolphins 🐬 when digging makes the hunt extra special. Thanks Shaun for posting👨🦯➡️😃
Hi, I'm loving your channel!! Didn't you worry about putting the toe ring on your clip, I sure did..LOL..Anyway, keep up the good work, its fun watching you! Cheers from Plant City,,
I wish you would have shown a closeup of the silver penny. It might have been struck on a nickel planchette which adds value to it as an error in minting.
So what did we learn today ???? Wine in Florida has foil for some reason and. VDI ON MANICORE is really flexible quarter at 67 quarter at 88 😮 thanks for the video I’m in northeast (Syracuse) and you need dynamite to dig LOL
When I was 8 years old, I went to a garage sale where there was an old Radio Shack metal detector. I didn't really know about them before then, so when I figured out what it was, I knew I had to try it. I begged and pleaded my parents to let me get it, and they agreed. Fast forward almost 15 years, I moved to Florida and treated myself to a high end(but used) water hunting machine for my birthday. That's when I got the bug!!
I've been watching the channel for about a year now and always enjoy the excursions. A friend of mine just recently told me that detecting in water is not allowed in the state of Florida. After a quick search, I have found the same limitation from multiple sources. Might be worth looking into.
It’s an old law that is only enforced now in state parks, national parks, and an area about 50 miles long on the east coast where the 1715 fleet sank. I chat with law enforcement all the time on the beach. They all know that metal detecting is primarily beach cleanup rather than finding treasure, and they appreciate what we do
I absolutely love your videos and Florida as well. Is there any chance that at the beginning of each video you can say which beach you are at either by telling us or having a label at the bottom of the screen? Some beaches I think I recognize but others are a mystery.
Unfortunately that would be like a fisherman telling the world his spot every time he catches a big fish. The fisherman will come back to his spot, and the fish will all be gone
SHAUN!!!! Could you PLEASE not toss the Murex snails (or any living sea shells) into the water. That shell is their ONLY home. They don't switch shells like crabs. They are connected by a muscle to their shells and when you toss them, that muscle can rip away from the shell. Once that happens the animal can die. Thank you!!
What’s the water temp there that you have to wear the full wetsuit? Nice gold band. It never gets old finding rings…every one is like finding one for the first time.
Well I didnt win the detector, guess I need to figure out which detector is best for me and spend the big bucks lol. BUT somehow, in the usps system or packaging error the handle is broken. I'll try to glue it to see f it can still be used. I didnt need another cup, just thought it would be a nice addition to the collection. Just wanted to let you know in case others complain about a broken cup, somewhere along the line, and there may be others complaining.
I'm so sorry to hear about this!! USPS has been the bane of my existence(even more than pull tabs!!) over this past year. If you can... send me a photo of your broken mug, and I'll get another one sent out to you. The company that makes them requires proof of damage. My email is Detectflorida941@gmail.com
Even though your in Florida waters how many mm is your wetsuit? I usually use chest waders up north here but not as easy to move around in. And thank you for the sand tips while swinging in water.
Its a bit more difficult for me over other RUclipsrs because my detector is submerged most of the time and I have to use headphones in order for me to hear it. I bought the loudest headphones on the market, and it's still difficult for the microphone to pick up the tones :(
Hi to all my American cousins. Please explain what the nickels, dimes and quarters all relate together. Obviously a quarter is 25 cents, but what are the other coin values? Cheers
I think someone had nickel plated it in the past, and it sat in saltwater for years. Definitely done post-mint. As far as the giveaway, I used a random number generator to pick the winning number
This might be a dumb question since I have never found anything of value. What if I do? How do you get the best price? I know it won't be from a pawn shop.
1- if it's cold enough for a wet suit, are your hands freezing as much as I think they are?😮 2- Huge compliments on your editing. I know you must dig more than we see, and even if not, the digs are likely spread way out. Perhaps it's easier because we are looking at water but I have to pay attention to even notice any edits. Very well done! Thanks for the wildlife stuff too, from cold, dreary Kentucky! ❤❤
Thank you!! The water is definitely cold on my hands, but you kind of get used to it :) Thank you for the comment on my editing. I try to eliminate the boring parts when there's a lot of time spent between targets! There's days where I take an 8 hour hunt and make a 15 minute video
@ the tide pools looks safer than the ones I’ve been to in California. Last March I was in La Jolla, I slipped and went down HARD! An ambulance ride, 4 staples, whiplash, concussion and now trouble with my eye, macular separation. I lost 3 months of work and I’ve sworn not to go back to California. Besides, Florida beaches are much nicer.

That’s a cool story. Thanks for sharing.
Nothing more beautiful than watching the dolphins in the morning !!!!
Lucky Amy for winning
I can not tell you how happy I am when I get to watch your videos while drinking my morning coffee! Thanks Man!
Thank you!!! That means a lot
It warms my heart that he always tries to find people's rings to them free of charge. Congrats Amy! Happy Huntings!
I loved the way that you filmed and respected the marine life that you encountered today, from dolphins to hermit crabs.
Thank you so much for being wholesome and showing us wild life that is NOT wearing a bikini. And for taking the trash with you instead of throwing it back. And for being honest and trying your best to always return the jewelry instead of hiding it from sight. And not trash talking the other detectorists behind their backs. He did have a near-nekkid gal on. I didn't care for it either. Not a prude, but still there are some standards.
Thank you Emily!!! What you see is what you get with me. It's all about the adventure!! :)
I said freaking pull tab when you asked what do you think this is . Aww the dolphins how awesome .. great seeing you again this Sunday morning. Love from eastern Ontario!

Congrats Amy in Missouri!!!
🎉 Congratulations Amy 🎉
I love the sound of the water 🤗 Nice finds!!!
Nice dolphins treat! ❤
What a hunt! Gold, silver and coins!
😊❤️👍
You’re so amazing. It is freezing outside right now, but the water is normally warmer than that weather outside. Good luck, my friend.
Always happy to see a video from you! Makes my day.
Thank you!!!!
Congrats Amy good job. 😊
Another Sunday in Florida! Love the dolphins 🐬 and now I’m waiting for a frickin pull tab! This channel is so much fun to watch!
We will say it for you ! Freaking pull tab ! 🤪
Enjoyed. Love watching you find rings. Thanks for the ride.
Thanks for a good video!
I don’t get to the beach as often as I’d like to, but watching your videos every week helps to give me my fix. We are so lucky to live in this beautiful state ❤.

Watching from the UK
CONGRATULATIONS Amy! Awesome Giveaway
We all want to see your display of rings and other collections of cool stuff please ✌️
I get this request sooo much haha. There's a lot of crazies in this world, and I don't want to paint a target on my back by showing my finds
Loved seeing the dolphins
You are so lucky to be close to them
You are so entertaining. It is so much fun to tag along with you. Great find. You are one of the good ones. I would love to see your display of all your treasures. I get excited when you are looking for someone’s ring and you find it. I like to see their reactions. Keep up the great work. ❤
Thank you so much!!
Good luck today Mr Shawn God bless 🙌 🙏
Congrats Amy, very jealous!!
I want to see your whole collection of rings over the years
Aww 🥰 🐬 🐬
A silver ring and a gold ring, today was a good day!
Nice ring bro! Gold is good!
What a day man you are on it good job
Fantastic!

@DetectFlorida It's warming up a little going to be in the mid 30's and 40's next week.
Tuning in 😮
Hello from California. Enjoy you channel and treasure hunting.
Thank you!!
Bello lo Zippo e hai trovato un sacco di monete, ottima caccia, al prossimo video 👍

Dolphins!!!!!! yeah, used to watch them all day at work.... Congrats to Amy!!
Nice one ... that 10k ring looks like a fresh drop ... cold water means shrinking fingers and more fresh drops
I thought so too. I posted in a local beach page about it, and unfortunately couldn't locate the owner
@DetectFlorida it's almost impossible to find the owners of these middle of the ocean rings.. I only ever manage to return tidal pool finds... mostly the local community who swims in them regularly... open beach finds could belong to ANYBODY 😅
Hey shaun thanks for taking me to the beach. Maybe one day I'll meet u detecting in person. Stay safe.
👍👍👍
Happy holidays!
You as well!!

Love the merch dude!
Thanks bro bro
I wish you would have shown a closeup of the silver penny. It might have been struck on a nickel planchette which adds value to it as an error in minting.
I believe it was done by someone post-mint. It looks like someone nickel plated it and then it sat in the saltwater for a long time

I Love Watching Your Videos. Question though….. What got you into Metal Detecting?

Good morning budy from Greenwood NY 14839
Let's find some gold today 👍👍
🤩
Nice beach hunt. Congrats on the 10k.
Thank you!
If there’s no snow on the sand it’s not cold water. 😂

I loved seeing the dolphin in so close to shore!😊 I wonder if your electronic signals (or whatever they are) might be keeping the sharks away...
I don't think so. I see sharks periodically, and sometimes they swim right by me
That crab was in a “banded Tulip” shell
Water temp is currently in the mid 60's. It's juuuust cold enough to where it's uncomfortable without a wetsuit
Have you ever done any searching on the many Military bases beaches?
There's one local to me where I find a lot of spent ammo
Even though your in Florida waters how many mm is your wetsuit? I usually use chest waders up north here but not as easy to move around in. And thank you for the sand tips while swinging in water.
I use a 3mm suit for most of the winter. It's rare that I have to use my 7
@@DetectFloridaThanks for the info my friend 😀
Can we please have the beeps of the detector.
Its a bit more difficult for me over other RUclipsrs because my detector is submerged most of the time and I have to use headphones in order for me to hear it. I bought the loudest headphones on the market, and it's still difficult for the microphone to pick up the tones :(
So do you spent the money you find or does it go in a big jar. 😅
I have storage totes filled with crusty coins! haha
@DetectFlorida wow!!! Thanks for the answer. We have just started dedecting. We have picked up a lot of metal trash lol.
its just a plain zinc cent. unfortunately they took the copper away and now they corrode badly
Hi to all my American cousins.
Please explain what the nickels, dimes and quarters all relate together.
Obviously a quarter is 25 cents, but what are the other coin values?
Cheers
Dime=10cent nickle=5cents penny=1cent😊

Thanks!
What happen to the silver penny? Also how did you determine who the winner was?
I think someone had nickel plated it in the past, and it sat in saltwater for years. Definitely done post-mint. As far as the giveaway, I used a random number generator to pick the winning number
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
This might be a dumb question since I have never found anything of value. What if I do? How do you get the best price? I know it won't be from a pawn shop.
I’m the worst guy to ask. I’ve never sold anything 😂
@@DetectFlorida It must be nice to be independently wealthy. Just out of curiosity, where do you keep your gold and precious stones? Lol! 🏴☠

Can you tell me the name if the first beach you were on?
I don't think it has a name. It's a fairly private section, pretty far from any main public beaches

This is my full time job now. I don't sell anything I find or charge people for the jewelry recoveries. I just make a little bit through the videos
congrats Amy! Great video
Thanks dude!
New sub here thanks for having me
