Im sorry, she is one of the most talented violinsts ever. Just because she might not play the way you like, does not mean that she is not a fantastic violinist. She played the Viuextemps concerto when she was 12 better than anyone I have heard.
Ashtonishing..... i think i wont be able to shut my mouth for a month or so. How can a 12 year old girl play one of the best campanellas I've ever heard? I must say that i was not a fan of Leila, but after this... she is one of my favorites right now!
This is absolutely fantastic. I can see the huge growth in musical maturity since the year before, when she played the Vieuxtemps. Even that was utterly spectacular as well. However, in one single year, she turned into a beautiful young girl and her playing improved tenfold in musicality. She makes La Campanella sound like the most musical piece ever written. Kudos to Ms. Josefowicz.
Amazing performance of this marvellous composition by Nicolo Paganini. A fast paced piece performed to perfection. She certainly will have a successful career. Hard work made to look easy.
I have the music to Paganini's "La Campanella" from Violin Concerto no.2. and have folloed the music as she has been playing. And she is not skipping any difficult parts. This is just for your information. Yes, it is unbelieveable that a 13 year old can play like this, so I can understand your skeptisism. If you are in doubt just get the music and you can check for yourself.
There is so much shit in the world today and yet there is this. She is not only beautiful but the most amazing talent too. She grabs my heart with her music!
I would like to know if there is anyone that confirm or deny that Leila attended a Masterclass in Tanglewood where Itzac Pearlman was the instructor. The legend is that when Mr. Pearlman heard her play on the first day he said; "You need a better fiddle". He then gave her the loan of a Stradivarius.
@82224561 I read that her previous music agent was hated in the industry and that's the reason why she's not as famous as Hahn. Marketing is very important!
@sregnathan Sarah Chang, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Midori Goto, Leila Josefowicz, Adele Anthony, Janine Jansen, Ida Haendel, Viviane Hagner, Akiko Suwanai, Yuki Manuela, Rachel Podger, Sayaka Shoji, Hilary Hahn, etc. just to name a few.
she needs to be sponsored by WD-40 for the way her hands just slide effortlessly up and down the finger board. She truly is one of my all time favorites.
she makes a lot of exaggerated tempo changes, but Williams and the orchestra are absolutely spot on, with her every single time. and of course her playing is freaky good, almost inhuman
I think it's hilarious how pissed of she looks all the time... lol! It would be unnecessary for me to reiterate how absolutely perfect this playing is, though.
I like her! I have listened her in Paris some years ago playing Mendelssohn concerto; She was at Curtis Institut like Hiraly Hann...but now seems that Hilary is much better Known..?
Simplente es el poder de Dios y el esfuerzo de leila , pero sobretodo es el poder de Jesucristo y la intervention de Maria Santisima Gloria a Dios !!!!!!!!!
One of my very favourite female violinists, now that she has matured into such a great artist. It is a show piece, don't forget, and not intended to be great academic music.. The object is to dazzle the audience with remarkable technique and that she does. Near perfect intonation and tenths, at thirteen? Tiny fingers producing such a warm tone. She sailed through that very difficult centre section with the fingered thirds and the cross-stringed work, unlike most others who have to slow down to get through it. Superb virtuoso. Brush up those left hand Pizz though.
It's okay not to like someone's style. I don't like Anne Sophie Mutter's playing (except for her Beethoven). As for being obnoxious, nearly all concert artists are. In order to get that good you have to believe that you can be the greatest violinist ever, and a great many of them do.
My God she was only 13 when she played this, and it sounded so mature!
3 decades and I bet she's still playing as amazing as the first day. F.

She’s amazing. Paganini’s compositions are intricate.

I saw her play Kreisler in this concert live (tv) in '91 and it changed something inside of me forever.
Paganini's daughter. No less!!!

You're sorely mistaken she is one of the best players on the planet. And she definitely deserves the aforementioned grant.
I bet the orchestra were shitting themselves having to keep up with her for those last few bars. She was (and still is) beyond incredible.
She makes me smile and want to dance when she plays. Absolutely heavenly.
She is absolutely Genius.God bless her🙏🙏❤️❤️
Oh my god, best version i've heard yet. At 13 years old. WOW
She's really amazing!!!!!

There is so much shit in the world today and yet there is this. She is not only beautiful but the most amazing talent too. She grabs my heart with her music!
How could anyone not like?
Una belleza!!!
How does the orchestra and the desk read their music in such darkness? Great performance, one of my favorites
whoa! what playing, in the bel canto style. i also like the concertmaster's glasses

Grandissima!
leila es un amor!!!!!! y a mi gusto creo la mejor version de la campanella q he escuchado junto a la de heifetz y acardo.
She plays very much in the Heifetz tradition. But Heifetz never recorded this piece of music

she makes a lot of exaggerated tempo changes, but Williams and the orchestra are absolutely spot on, with her every single time. and of course her playing is freaky good, almost inhuman
Wow 😮😮👏👏👏
Ah, you should see her now. She just keeps getting better.
I think it's hilarious how pissed of she looks all the time... lol!
It would be unnecessary for me to reiterate how absolutely perfect this playing is, though.
same here!
@unotelly Yes,is one of the factors..

Look at her face while playing then and compare it to now. Loll.
@Montesardi75 paganini was the Devil's violinist though LOL
Davvero commovente ç__ç
JULIA FISCHER !!!!! KY U WA CHUNG !!! VENESSA MAE !!! ANNA AKIKO MEYERS !!! DESERVES TO MENTION THEIR NAME ALSO
love the pice, but this is waaaaay too fast
prodigy.
'A technically brilliant performance. (I'll bet Paganini wrote this back in his time so as to impress girls.)
@XMetalGuitarMasterX hahahaha but paganini is always about a race ;-D
THE HERD WISH

you wish you could play like that right?

Obviously virtuosic playing...but she plays the first theme too fast...no time to savor the melody
I thought this piece was written for piano ;) But it doesn't at all sound like the piano version. Piano can't sing like that :P
what is the fucking rush???
Masht Ali, you should stick to baba karam.
Just to prove that she can do it. And.... you can't.
