I don't know why, but when I hear and see her play, my heart melts, I get very emotional and tears come to my eyes.

Love the silence when she finished the piece. People’s mind must have transported to somewhere. Magical.

That's how most pieces allways should finish, with some seconds to appretiate how the last note blends with silence. :-)

One of the best meditation/thais violin performance I've heard. Solid no notes unturned. Just wonder whats the maker of the fiddle. German? Italian? Chinese?

    • @masterxiangqi

Chinese?!??! Chinese made violins are a joke. No way a virtuoso would be playing one of those

@@LaurenceHuntKenora_Ontario The following is part of a larger ‘Life Lessons’ interview with Leila Josefowicz in The Strad’s May 2018 issue. I commissioned my violin from Sam Zygmuntowicz after playing various old Italian instruments which, because they were on loan, would end up being taken away and I’d be left searching for a replacement.
Sam listened to me play and asked me what I wanted from a new violin. My priorities were a big range of colours and the ability to feel in control no matter where on the instrument I was playing, and I really couldn’t be happier with the result.

I would suggest that to get the most out of the violin, that she use a chin rest, It appears to me that those cloth pieces that she uses might be muffling the true sound of her violin, although it sound beautiful even with the cloth she uses as her chin rest.
