- It is the equal ninth-highest score in VFL/AFL history and started a 15-game winning streak as the Cats ended their premiership drought in 2007.
The 157-point win had 15 individual goalkickers and is the heaviest defeat ever for the Tigers.

This is the Richmond we all loved and remember
James Williamson yup certainly no one likes footy anymore cause Richmond just didn’t have the revs high enough but they found the switch now!
You said it mate
Couldn't Agree More 👍
Loved the tiges even when they weren’t very good & love them now when they’re one of the best in the comp
James Williamson agree miss this Richmond
The amount of chemistry that Geelong 07-011 side had was incredible
Similar things with the 2010-2016 hawthorn side both great times for football
What chemistry be that??? Coke, speed, meth, roids????
@@offgridaussies No need to announce your staple diet dude.

Yup
Gazalenko~
And to think he’s playing his last game this Saturday 😭
Thought this was the 2020 grandfinal(delorean laptop being used) then I saw Gazza
LOL, he had to know it was coming!!!
I remember this, this was actually the turning point for the cats. Before this they were struggling at 2-3, having just lost to the kangaroos. They were under the pump, and taking heavy criticism. The next weekend they come out and do this to Richmond. And since then they have been a top side for 13 years.
That's when Robinson put in the call to Dank and Charters maybe.
Geelong's goals alone are longer than the match highlights
Like 2 games played in one for Cats.
What's incredible is that as of today, this is Geelong's *fourth-highest score of all time.*
Cats went on to win the next 14. Lost tom Port 1n round 21 when Cassisi kicked a goal on the siren. Got our revenge in the GF though..... What a season.
I'm a North fan and I love that season. You guys were godly. Even though we got flogged in the prelim to Port, I reckon we would've put up at least somewhat of a fight against ya. Glad you destroyed Port. Was brilliant to watch.
@@coenjacobs8469 fellow North supporter as well!
I think we were the catalyst to the Cat's turning it on. We beat them on their home turf, Cats playing ordinary footy and it just didn't look like things would click like the previous year.
Oh boy, were the doubters wrong!
@@mufc383 Soccer: beloved by lady boys the world over...
@@amer-du6qh Yep. Laidley's team beat the Cats at the Cattery in round 5. Cats had been hot and cold after the infamous "review" in 2006.
Shinboners had no idea just what sort of a fire the had lit.
@@coenjacobs8469 Didn't Geelong flog you guys by 100 in the Qualifying Final tho?
Sure, could have been a shot at revenge but they pummelled you lot that finals series too
This is exactly why Geelong will always love Bomber Thompson. I love the fearless corridor possession game we played it was beautiful to watch, especially when most teams continued to use the tactless eye soaring flooding tactic.
And the after parties!
@M stop talking
I’ve been a swans supporter all my life but i loved the way this geelong team played, i reckon i watched as many geelong games as swans games that year
@M this comment screams insecurity
Every talks about Gary Ablett Jnr but nobody realises how underated Nathan is. Legendary skills to rival his brother and dad.
Yep he was a superstar that didn't really want to play at the top level.
That "play on at all costs" style was beautiful to watch
Amazing they started the ‘07 season at 2-3.
Everyone knew they had a great list for a few years beforehand. But this was the night that something clicked into gear for this team and they started playing amazing footy consistently.
@M why would I or anyone else give two shits about your opinion on this buddy?
@M you need a girlfriend
@M you actually need help
@M I see enough crap acting on daytime tv. Europe can keep soccer. AFL is a great sport, better than seeing a bunch of runners jogging and sprinting.
No offence.
@M all thanks to our lax immigration laws and greedy pollies.
So sad that commentators Grybas and Frawley are no longer with us
I know what happened to Frawley, but never heard what happened to Grybas ????
@@davidhenry3833 they never publicly announced his cause of death. They just said he was found dead on his bedroom floor
@@darijoe1 thanks,
Geelong should have declared and thrown them back in again.
I can’t believe there are Richmond fans still in the stands at the end
Why? We were still in it up until Geelong’s 34th goal
I was barely alive when Geelong was like this and I still miss these days so badly
Tom Hawkins was barely alive as well, 18 years old here? That's nearly half his lifetime ago. Time is strange and scary.
35.12 is mind-boggling. The indoor conditions must've made goal kicking easier.
"black and yellow witches hats"

@@robives9155 yeah funny how after 30 odd years a team Has a turn around haha they will drop real quickly next year I don't think they will make the finals
As a Port fan glad to see we weren't the largest smashing that year sadly for us it was on the biggest day of the year, that Geelong team was destined to win the flag.
I'm a North fan so I was glad to see you guys got what you did to us. That said, my fingers are crossed that if its a Richmond Port final you guys remind Richmond what it is like to be flogged.

Can add from 2007-2021 have only missed the finals once (2015)
14 out of 15 seasons of finals football. Phenomenal record.
And now they are in the grand final again as the favourite
And now they are about to miss out on finals
Wish they did that in the prelim :(
Kenieva I wish we did that in 2016-2019.
QF won by 100+ GF won by 100+ had to make one final close
I don't like Geelong at all being a North supporter living near Geelong but I was cheering for Geelong as hard as I've ever cheered for North to win that game. Hopefully this year you can stop them.
@@davepascoe6093 I'm pretty sure they were referring to the 2019 prelim, but you keep clinging on to 2007 if it makes you feel better.
@@coenjacobs8469 So much salt. You just keep replaying the 2015 elimination final if it makes you feel better :D
playing afl evolution 2 on prospect difficulty be like:
OR playing on beginner, could be either lmao
Crazy that they started the season 2-3, and then just piledrived the rest of the comp from that moment.
13 years later, both clubs meet at the grand final 🙌🏾
And Geelong could not buy a goal when it mattered
Before that Richmond played them in the 1967 grand final and beat them then as well.
RIP the best caller of all. Clinton grybas what passion he had 😢
As A Hawk Supporter I must say this should of been the AFL grand final-
65 points would be a winning score these days
They had an amazing number of star players in the one team. If anything they under achieved by only winning three premierships.
They probably should’ve won 5.
I reckon Collingwood deserved the 2010 premiership but I'm still shocked they lost 2008. Probably the best season they had out of those five years yet they couldn't seal it.
We were the only team apart from Collingwood who beat them to give them problems that year. Only beat us by 2 goals in round 17 that year and we went into the GF after back to Smashings of the opposition in better form. They should have been 4 goals up at least at half time but after that we ambushed them. Most of their fans still haven't got over it.
I realise that with every great team they have atleast one grand final loss. Essendon in 01, Brisbane 04, port 07, Geelong 08, Collingwood 11, hawthorn 12. Richmond are the only team who didn't have that this century.
@@raffarmenio6213 Essendon 99’ another one pretty much
Isn’t it amazing how you could show all the goals from one team in two times as long as the MATCH highlights? Like seriously

This is what i hope happens on grand final day.
Time for a repeat
ahhh good times.. can't wait for the tigers to inevitably return to their old ways...
Can't wait for the same to happen to Geelong. Most of you handbagger idiots seem to forget that Geelong had a 44 year period of no flags and being mediocre at best
@@mabiorcholappreciationpage mm no, pretty sure most Geelong people are well aware of the draught (not that a draught = mediocrity, there were plenty of close GF losses during that time), given that we have a mostly long standing fan base, unlike the Richmond bandwagoners of 2017-2020. And you can never say never, but given how well the club is run nowadays, I can't see that happening anytime soon, so don't hold your breathe lol
