That St Kilda vs Geelong game is still the best game I've ever seen. Both teams went into the game 13-0 and the hype was amazing. But the game actually exceeded expectations. I'm not sure we'll ever see that again.
yeah it should be number 1 or 2. Rarely does anything live up to hype like that. But it did and some. Also the highest ever crowd at docklands aswell. Definitely not upset that jason was number 1 though
Still send shivers down spine... Brave man he was a very emotional game... No 7 for me with Bulldogs being the only team to beat Essendon in the home and away season...

Yeah, what a great memory beating up on the first year Gold Coast Suns. Who makes these videos? You stuffed up the aspect ratio on the Kevin Sheedy throat slash clip as well.
Jonathan Brown Round 6, 2005, v Essendon. First game back from suspension absolutely dominated the game after having 3 different opponents he ended up with 20 disposals & 8 goals 2 behinds. Absolute pleasure to watch that live.
Damn Docklands really be like the opposite of fine wine, it was sooooo good when it was young and just gets worse as the 2010s went on. So much from here is pre-2010 and that proves it. That Jason McCartney game emotional stuff. What a great moment. Fairytales DO come true!
70s, 80s, 90s were the golden era, people forget Leigh Matthews kicked 915 goals as a ruck rover so he arguably is the best goal kicker as well as player ever
Didn't even know the 2007 Elimination Final with Hawthorn and Adelaide was played here. The roof being open gave it a better atmosphere and viewing experience.
Troy Schwarze's winning goal in 2004 has to be in there surely? The crowd reaction to that was unlike anything I've seen at the venue, not to mention the drama
I’d put St Kilda/Geelong at no. 2 behind McCartney. The hype was incredible, they were both undefeated and it lived up to expectations and then some. Absolute epic.
i think it was because its such an odd player to kick 8. He only played 60 odd games and didn't even crack 100 career goals, yet achieved something only the very best key forwards have achieved over the past 10 years.
Some other memorable moments: * Essendon vs Port Adelaide, 2000 * Fremantle's first win of the 2001 season vs Hawthorn * St Kilda vs Brisbane Lions, 2003 * Fraser Gehrig's nine vs the Kangaroos in 2003 * Matthew Lloyd's ten (I think it was) vs the Bulldogs in 2003 * Gehrig's seven (or eight) in his 200th game in 2005 * Milne's 11 vs the Brisbane Lions in 2005 * Matthew Lloyd's eight vs Sydney in round 1 2006 * The Koschitzke-Giansiracusa head clash in round 6 2006 * That infamous Richmond vs Adelaide game in round 8 2006 * Cyril Rioli's goal of the year in 2009 * Nick Riewoldt's miss after the siren vs Essendon in 2009 * Adam Goodes' miss after the siren vs Essendon in 2011 * Devon Smith's winning goal on the run vs Western Bulldogs in 2014 * Buddy's two goals vs the Bulldogs in 2017 * St Kilda ambush vs Richmond in 2017 * Roughy's final match in 2019
10:02 even though Geelong lost, I reckon that is by far the best game ever played at Docklands. I was one of those 54,444 fans and dad and I could only get standing room tickets. The hype leading up to it in 2009 was tremendous with both teams having recorded 13 wins each and going into the match undefeated. There were talks between the venue and the AFL to move the game to the MCG because of the increased interest and expected attendance, but Etihad Stadium refused to give it up. So they came up with a compromise. The game was scheduled for 2:10pm on a Sunday afternoon. At the time, all matches scheduled for that time slot were broadcast on Channel 7 on a one-hour delay starting at around 3:10pm leading into the 6pm news (almost all matches on free to air at the time were a delayed broadcast). Since the match was a rare sellout, the AFL decided to change the start time of the match to 3:10pm so that it would be shown live on Channel 7. The move proved so successful that when the new broadcast deal for 2012 was done, the AFL decided to permanently change 2:10pm Sunday games to 3:20pm. That game at Docklands in 2009 certainly kickstarted a change to AFL broadcasting for the better.
Riccardi...was it touched....??? Still to this day, even with multiple replays I see no evidence or fight to express the touch of the ball nonsense. Great after the siren win...
Notice how the first ever game at this stadium was on a Friday Night in prime time. While Optus Stadium first game was in junk time on a Sunday arvo... #VicBias
I would have thought that the atrocious playing condition of the stadium, so bad it caused serious injuries, would be something the AFL would want us all to forget.

1994 vic vs sa
best game by a mile.

McCartney's comeback is the most courageous thing that has ever happened on a football field.
Number 1 is such a great ending to his footy story
It really is
“That’s enough for me, mate”
I was not expecting to come across the name Kyle Reimers here.
I know right
I was quite happy not remembering that clown
Thought the game was more remembered for the fact that Essendon kicked like 94 points or something in the first qtr
Yeah, what a great memory beating up on the first year Gold Coast Suns. Who makes these videos? You stuffed up the aspect ratio on the Kevin Sheedy throat slash clip as well.
Sean O'reilly whats si bad about reimers?

5:15 that umpire screamed play on like his life depended on it lmao
Moorcroft at 11 is a disgrace.
Should be top 3 easily.
Definitely the best midget taking a hanger on the back of another midget moment
Agreed! Don’t see many ad good as that nowadays
Should be #1
Lochie The puppy maybe number 2 or 3 but not number 1. That was human triumph there but a disgrace how low Moorcroft was in the list.
I miss the times when Richmond would get flogged
Braden Ferris They got flogged by the saints in 2017 by 64 points and they still won the cup that year 🤮
Charlie I mean they got flogged by the cats last Year and still won the flag
Braden Ferris haha
Me too
Braden Ferris that was at the MCG and u won’t see Richmond loose by more than 50 points for 10 years now
As a bulldogs supporter I saw a few of these moments so I saw moorcroft's mark live what a joke it's 11 easy top 3 moments ever at the dome
Saints vs Geelong game should have been top 3. One of the best games of all time easy
#1 was absolutely the best choice, glad that absolute hero got to go out on a great note.
(moorcroft's mark should've been way higher tho)
2:48 you can see a Suns supporter cheer when he kicked the goal.
Great sportsmanship
More like he was attempting to hit the ball with his flag.

9:24 Sheedy scanning the field like a hawk, saying to himself " OK, where the f%#k is he..."
Lecca’s moment was the best
Kyle reimers kicking 8 makes it but Stephen Milne kicking 11 doesn’t??
Must be a bombers fan who made this video. Reimers 8 not even in the top 100.
The probably should've called it the highest first quarter in history or something else
swamistyle AFL posted this vid lol
I was surprised by that too. Milne was in unbelievable form that night. Every touch was gold.

Saints 57 point comeback? May be biased as a saints supporter though
Jason The Knighthog as a western bulldogs fan, I believe it should be on the list
