Fun little story, at the height of his Matrix fame Keanu Reeves while riding along one day he saw a car broke down in the middle of Beverley Hills. So he pulled over, and began pushing her car, upon seeing this bystanders finally came to help. Afterwards he wished the driver a good day. This story went unKnown until years later, when the driver publicly spoke of it after achieving success as an actress. The woman he helped was Oscar Winner Octavia Spencer!

What the architect says is like, when you divide 10 by 3 you get 3 and 1 remains, if you go decimal you get 3.3 and 1 still remains. Now you keep going and go to 3.3333....ad infinitum but that 1 is there making imposible to have a perfect division. The one is all those remains melted into one guy, that guy has to return to the source and then 3.3....etc time 3 plus the remains is 10 again and the architect re-starts the division. If Neo doesn't go to the source the HDD will not be able to take the fails in the system and will screw everything unless a better solution is found.

That’s not really what The Architect is saying at all, but it helps some understand to a degree.
What The Architect was saying is that The Matrix is a piece of software which functions on choice (0s and 1s, or ‘off’ and ‘on’, etc), but there is an anomaly (fault) in the programming of the software where if a choice is not made it throws off the balance or integrity of the entire system. Think of it similar to when your PC crashes.
Many people misinterpret The Architect and view Neo as ‘the anomaly’ when in reality he simply represents the ‘flaw’ or ‘imperfection’ of an almost perfect design.
In short, anyone awakened or unplugged from The Matrix can exploit the anomaly inherent in the programming. The anomaly does not carry an identity. Mr. Smith is a reflection of exploiting the anomaly of the programming as well. Also, The Architect has a very limited mind. He cannot think nor operate outside the lines, which is why he is incapable of balancing the equation because he is a program himself.
That second act action is still one of the best ever done.
Neo's fight with the many Smiths (called The Burly Brawl) was simply amazing.

I love the matrix trilogy!!!! I remember watching this in the theater and listening to the crowd getting excited at the best parts of the movie. I HIGHLY recommend The Animatrix for more lore and backstory. It's very GOOD.
I love The Matrix, appreciate Reloaded as a martial arts fan dodgy CGI aside and Revolutions bore me to tears. 3 was really bad.

Enter the Matrix is one one of the best companion pieces for Reloaded. It goes into more detail on what Niobe, Ghost, and their operator Sparks are up to on their side stories in the second film. You also get more info on the Exiles and what happened to the Oracle between movies.

I don't think most people even know about the Animatrix, super obscure for some reason.
Also, that opening scene in reloaded where trinity goes to pick up the package, it has a backstory of what the people went through who sent out the package for her to pick up. Plus, there's that kids with the anti-gravity/"haunted house" story in the animatrix that shows how that version of the matrix rewrote those concepts that have escaped and are in this movie (werewolves, "ghost" twins, etc...) and others like the merovingian and persephone. I wouldn't mind a backstory about seraph tho.
@@beenthroughnam3747 It's because it was never shown in cinemas but was shown for free on the internet before "The Matrix Reloaded" appeared. After Reloaded they deleted the official videos off the internet and didn't promote the Animatrix DVD.

Love this movie. The whole car chase scene is so amazing. The combination or CGI and practical effects were top notch. They built this 4 lane freeway 2 miles long for the film. I believe they still use it for other movies as well.
I'lll always remember when I got this movie for Christmas 2003 on DVD collector, I was over the moon, was waiting for the sequel since the first one came out in 1999, and was not disappointed at all. Plus the DVD Menu is the best I have seen till this day.

The Animatrix (anime short film collection) was mind-blowing with Final Flight of The Osiris as the prelude to Reloaded.
Enter The Matrix-the video game with Niobe (Jada Pinkett-Smith) & Ghost (Anthony Wong) takes place during Reloaded and was a very good game.
Btw, the character of Zee who is played by Nona Gaye (Marvin Gaye's daughter) was a recasting.
Aaliyah had been casted as Zee first.
She filmed scenes for both sequels and hadn't finished due to her untimely passing.
Seraph (The Oracle's bodyguard) was played by Collin Chou.
Originally Jet Li was casted, but had to decline because of scheduling conflicts.
In the post credits, there was an teaser trailer for Part 3:Revolutions.
Crazy of what to expect for the next chapter.

The kissing scene makes me laugh every time. I always forget about it and then it cracks me up when it happens. It is like some shit a 12 year old boy would write.

Here's an interesting connection : Neo calls the Oracle another form of control. The Architect says she's co-founder of the Matrix and scoffs when Neo calls her Oracle (because she isn't). The Oracle is playing with humans, convincing them of the choice aspect of the matrix.
Remember that the Architect says most people accepted the matrix because of choice, it's because the Oracle is convincing people that they have one and that they've already made it.
The oracle also gave Neo a cookie, possibly altering his code to suit her needs (remember that he is an anomaly in the matrix). She also gives him a piece of red candy which is probably another alteration now that his code has changed (being the One).
She's controlling Neo by inducing his nightmares.. she probably does this with the others who have plugs on them and have previously been jacked into the Matrix.
Another thing : The Merovingian despises the Oracle probably because he was the previous Oracle in the previous version of the Matrix - his role being a control system of causality (the current oracle being a system of choice). If the Oracle replaced him he probably chose Exile and started collecting other exiles (like those vampires) to try and overthrow her.
I see it differently. The Architect says the Oracle was programmed to understand human behaviour, and initially decided to give the humans an illusion of choice.
However, she seems to be happy with the choice Neo makes in the end, stating she's here to unbalance the equation. I interpret this as the Oeacle realizing that humans, machines, and programs are all stuck in a neverending cycle of stagnation as there's always a reset. So, she cleverly led Neo towards making a different choice. Neo eventually realizes that while choices are limited he has the free will to choose. And it's those choices that allow them to move forward even though it's an uncertain future.

This ends on a cliffhanger and you still haven't seen the third one yet? There is a whole lot of thought process, philosophy in this movie, especially when the Architect and the Oracle started on their tangents.
Even though I still like this movie, watching it now doesn’t compare to when it came out with the game and MTV showing the animatrix, creating another level of immersion

Trying not to sound condescending. It often surprises me how many people, get confused by the architect. He was a program written to develop a world where humans could be kept in the dark. Had, many failures, then with the help of a program written to analyze human behavior (the oracle) he was able to create the matrix we know. However, there was a mathematical irregularity that he could not fix, this irregularity created "the one" every hundred or so years. In order to control the irregularity, he would give the one (6 before neo) the choice, over killing everyone attached to the matrix, or allowing Zion's destruction. After the destruction, the machines would choose a new location for Zion, and "the one" would start Zion all over again.

What you broke down in your recap about the differences between this one and the original are precisely why I think Reloaded is a better film aesthetically as far as overall production, but the Original will always be my favorite. These are some of my favorite fiction fantasy movies, when you drop the third one I'll drop a little fun fact that, if you keep it in mind on a rewatch will make this TRILOGY make a bit more sense. Fourth movie isn't Canon in my book unless the have more movies that actually work this fun fact into it. That's really the only way they could make up the travesty that fourth movie was
As soon as you said that you hated the oracle's speeches, I thought, "Wait until he gets a load of the Architect, lol". But, The Matrix became such a hit that they greenlit & rushed the sequels into production (both sequels were filmed simultaneously in one shooting, then released in parts like Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, but in the same year). It was unexpected since it came out of nowhere. I don't think it was planned to be made for sequels. But, C.R.E.A.M. & all that.
They had a four year process making them between 2000 to 2003 so I don't think they're rushed.

i remember seeing this one in theaters and enjoying it a lot.
after stealing the story to make the first matrix, the wachowskis had enough momentum to make this entry as good as is it. said momentum is gone by the third entry though, which is why that one is such a trainwreck.
