Let's have some fun on this one. How big was this for you when you first watched it? Are you looking forward to the matrix resurrections? Do you still reference this movie today? The Matrix Reloaded movie reaction: ruclips.net/video/OZF4jmmwX5c/видео.html
I've seen The Matrix somewhere between 7 to 9 times in the movies, each time with different people... I'm also one of those who loved Reloaded and Revolutions. Are they perfect? No! But still, they are great movies in my opinion... In regards to Matrix Resurrections, I'm equally nervous and excited... But no matter what people might be saying, I'll shoot for a viewing in the movies the very first week for sure!
Man I wish I could go back to when this movie came out. This was the most groundbreaking film at the time it released. My 8 year old brain was blown away.
I was 26 in 1999 & this movie was mind-blowing, I had to watch it a twice in order to absorb all the new information & concepts I was trying to wrap my head around while trying to follow the story-line. I found the special-effects amazing & all the movies Mind-blowing. It actually help me realize there is more to the single-minded, man-made, socially constructed world I had been unknowingly living in for 26 years. So I gave up living a lie & decided to live a life I wanted to rather than do what I think others want me to do with my life, like my partner, mother or grown daughter.
The typical Prince charming kiss to bring him back to life seems silly but if you think about it ...he only got shot in The matrix ,in the spaceship where they're at.... His physical ears and brain can hear what she's saying and that's what makes him hear her out of the "dream world matrix" and realize that he's not dead and so his brain started his heart again.
That's how I took it too. Basically "there is no spoon" totally clicks that his mind has to convince him he's dead based on an illusion and he finally rejects it.
"There are no bullets and no guns, why are you laying on the floor, allegedly dying, playing by their rules Neo? I love you, you're not really dead, now get up and kick their ass so we can use the EMP, 'kay? We'll bang in the next movie. Up ya go! "
2:53 "You're so lucky to watch this for the first time; I'm so jealous." This is why I watch reaction videos for movies I've watched a trillion times; to watch them "again for the first time" through others' eyes. :)
There is just one iconic scene/shot/line after another. Just one after another. Truly a cultural phenomenon. From beginning to end it's packed with things that things that everyone knows.
"You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he is expecting to wake up. Ironically, that's not far from the truth." This is EXACTLY how someone is supposed to react to their first viewing of The Matrix.
Honestly this seemed like a different kind of movie until we see the supernatural spooky bits and find out that the whole world is a lie. Up until he gets arrested by the agents this movie could have gone in a hacker thriller spy direction.
I was lucky enough to watch this in theaters. There was a sense that movies had all of a sudden "leveled up". You could feel the cultural shift. Everyone had a copy of this movie. When you'd visit friends & family they'd invariably ask if you've "seen it" and were excited to share it, etc. Nothing like it up till that point.
@@BaddMedicine Yeah, this movie was the talk of the town around the water cooler for quite some time in those days, especially in SoCal where I'm from. It just nails a bit of everything, so all groups were trying to "clam it as their own", like, if you were a philosopher type, this movie justified you, if you were Judeo-Christian, you bought into all the illusions of savior Christ and scriptural references, if you were paranoid about government and growing technology in those days it spoke to you, it was a fairytale for those who like sleeping beauty kisses at the end. Like, there was a little something in it for everyone.
The Oracle never said he was not the one. Neo said it and she said she was sorry, but not what she was sorry about. People just assume she was sorry to tell him he wasn't the one, but it's more likely she was sorry that he was the one, but he didn't think he was and didn't want to hear he was the one.
Yeah that's just bad writing on the script for not making it clear to the audience. That conversation was the worst in the movie cause it unnecessarily vague.
@@lampad4549 Was just vague enough to me. She says "You're waiting on something... another life maybe." When he died I immediately knew he'd come back as the one.
Not to mention, even if she had explicitly told him he wasn't the One, it's not like anyone ever claimed she always tells the truth. Like Morpheus said, she's a guide, and she tells you exactly what you need to hear.
@@NoriMori1992exactly if she told him you are the one plainly would Neo have felt the need to go back in to save Morpheus? Having watched this movie dozens of times it’s apparent to me she manipulates events to get the optimal outcomes
After watching quite a few of the Matrix reactions videos, it's interesting to see the various things the reactors focus on. Some pick up on the philosophy, some on computer coding, some just like the special effects or fights scenes. I think because it excels in all these different areas is why it's so popular with so many people.
Good point! And one person might also focus on different things in different viewings, and discover new and interesting things in the areas they ignored before.
I still remember getting this on VHS for my birthday the year it released. My aunt got it for me because I had asked for it, but she didn’t realize it was rated R until I opened it up and people were passing it around reading the synopsis on the back of the sleeve. I was only 9 or 10 but thankfully my parents just decided to watch it with me the first time through to make sure it wasn’t like a hard R rated movie. After that, I watched it so much that I eventually wore out the tape because it was my favorite movie and I had never seen anything else like that before in my young life. I honestly couldn’t even begin to imagination how big a part it played in my growth as a person from that point on, leading me to read more into different life philosophies, learning about AI, coding, hacking, even something simple just like Techno/EDM, and god knows what else. There’s no telling how significant the ripple effect from seeing this movie at that point in my life shaped who I’ve become today. One of my all time favorites. A classic.
it's hard to explain to today's audience what a futuristic epic experience it was to watch this in 1999 and it was such mindfuck lol. the idea was so revolutionary and people were really coming out of the cinema like: omg are we in the Matrix right now?!?! 👀🤣🤣🤣 especially since people were not used back than to ideas of abstract or virtual realities...also the fighting scenes and effects were never before seen too and so ahead of it's time. such a classic! I was 14 watching this with my friends and we were mindblown for days!!
One of tihe genius aspects of this movie is that all of the special effects are not just usedf or spectacle. Each special effect is a part of the plot, and gvies us as much insight to the characters as the dialogue.
I just want to say. Thank you for making these reactions. I've been frustrated a lot at work and something about coming home and watching you all react to stories that I love while I make dinner helps me center myself. So thanks!
I really liked Elrond in this movie. And i really like the expression on people's faces when they realise either "oh shit Elrond was Agent Smith" or "Oh shit Agent Smith is Elrond" depending which movie they're watching when they see it. Also great is that the Oracle was right about everything she told Neo, if you think about it. "It looks like you're waiting for something... your next life, maybe" goes with the follow-up of "You're going to have to make a choice. In the one hand, you'll have Morpheus's life, and in the other hand, you'll have your own. One of you is going to die. Which one will be up to you." Then he dies, and comes back, and in his next life, he's the one.
It always amazes me whenever someone is surprised that agent smith shoots neo. That scene with the oracle isn't foreshadowing it's a straight up spoiler. She says exactly how the film is going to end.
It's a lot to take in your first time watching though. There's a lot of ideas spinning around and when you combine that with the fast-paced action at the end, people don't reflect on what the Oracle said until they rewatch it.
I think this movie can be seen as an inadvertent comment on Keanu's status as a movie star at that point. When this film came out, Keanu wasn't the beloved star he is today. He'd had some successes ( Bill and Ted, Speed, Point Break), some failures ( Johnny Neumonic, Chain Reaction) but he would flip genres constantly, going from major studio films to small indie features in radically different genres, so he wasn't necessarily seen as a giant box office draw. He also wasn't considered a top tier thespian, and was constantly criticized for wooden acting in certain roles, as well as his odd vocal inflections and almost androgynous appearance. Once the Matrix was released, this uncertainty about Keanu actually subconsciously infects( and imo helps) the film. The doubt about Neo feels real, and the doubt about Keanu the actor is real too, and it helps you to root for him to succeed. Keanu blossomed after this film, just like Neo does.
'The Animatrix' is cool. A set of short extra stories/history before The Matrix...each a different style of animation. For the main back-story...how it all came about...I think of it as the future 200 years after the movie 'I Robot'. Worth a watch.
@@BaddMedicine at least watch the two episodes called “The Second Renaissance” part 1 and 2 since it’s the story about events that lead to the machine rebellion, war, and creation of the matrix.
@@Californyuhh Those were great. While the Animatrix varied in whether the short was good those two did a fantastic job. I also thought Program and Kid's Story introduced some new ideas into the lore.
So Keanu was fairly popular by this film. He had done films like *Point Break* and *Speed.* Constantine didn't come out until '05. You have the timeline mixed up. Great reaction!
One of the greatest movies of all time. It's the first time the inspiration of anime came into a mainstream movie (the wachowskis were directly inspired by ghost in the shell 1995, another genre defining classic film, which is even more obvious on the Animatrix) So many ideas about the nature of the human mind, consciousness, systemic oppression and systems of control, AI and the future of technology. It's stuff that's still very relevant today, even more so now that these things are even more part of our daily lives. Thank you folks for reacting to it!
Watched this for the first time with my brother at a tiny old theater in a busy part of my city. Left in a sort of daze, mind totally blown, and began to cross the street without looking because * the matrix * right? Thankfully my brother was there to grab my shoulder and yank me out of oncoming traffic.
I watched The Matrix for the first time at a friend's house when I was 15 when it was first released on DVD. When Morpheus holds up the Duracell battery, it hit me like a ton of bricks.
Just a special effects note. - At 24:50, when the guard with the newspaper gets shot, you can see the paper is cut so that it will rip in half. If you pause the video and use the < and > keys you can move, frame-by-frame back and forth to see.
Like Quinn, I'm massive fan of The Matrix movies too! The mouth part on Neo still makes me squirm even today, so glad to see your reactions to such an iconic movie franchise!
Keanu was a household name he just wasn’t a worldwide phenomenon but he did My Own Private Idaho in 1991, Point Break in 1991, Dracula in 1992 Speed in 1994, and The Devils Advocate in 1997
I heard that Keanu Reeves was so impressed with the visual effects, and thought that the team wasn’t getting paid enough, so he gave a large amount of the money he made from the movie to the visual effects team. What a great guy!
After all these years this movie still stands on top of most.. thank you guys for this great reaction! and uhhhh I'm also yealous of peeps seeing this for the first time ;)
I remember watching it for the first time and never noticed the time when they were in the Matrix there was a green hue to it until someone pointed it out to me. Great movie, can't wait for Resurrections. Love the reactions guys keep it up.
Even crazier, not a lot of people noticed that the subsequent DVD's and Blu-Rays they exaggerated the green even more to match up with Reloaded and Revolution. Nearly all the streaming platforms had this greener version. Then they released the UHD a couple of years back, which was color corrected to match more with the original theater release (but even then, streaming platforms still had the greener version)
The green tint was added after post production. I remember I was able to download an Open Matte version of this movie. That was the bomb, seeing this awesome movie using 100% of your screen instead of having the top/bottom cropped out with black bars. Only problem was that it didn't have the green tint and it was only 720p since it was pre-production footage.
Love this movie. The "KYM" in the elevator can be two things: "Know Your Mind" or a fun nod to Kym Barrett the film's costume designer. River's Edge was the first film where I thought Keanu stood out as a potential star.
Great reaction. Just subbed. And yeah, this movie melted my brain in the theatre in '99. And BTW, what a great year in cinema. Matrix, Fight Club, Magnolia, Boondock Saints, Sixth Sense, just to name a few.
Pretty much every1 who saw The Matrix when it came saw it at least a second time to understand what actually happened 🙂 Morpheus didn't speak in riddles, he was explaining that they are essentially in a computer program and said things in a way that Neo(as a hacker) would understand "Reality" is nothing but electrical impulses in the brain, so reality can be created or altered by the correct "input" and Neo just needed to understand how this specific program was working Cyphers actor(Joe Pantoliano) is so freaking good, he is in a couple of other classics: "La Bamba" and "Memento"
The kids floating the blocks at the oracles.. One of the blocks has a picture of a helicopter and a 3 below it, as in trinity. Later the scene when Neo saves her is when they are positive he is the one.
@@liamthompson9090 Artistically and visually speaking, yes, this movie does touch something beyond what we perceive :) but I understand where you're coming from and you're correct. Just speaking visually.
Everyone is surprised when Neo gets shot. The oracle did say that either Morpheus or Neo would die. Since Neo successfully rescued Morpheus, he had to die.
This film is one of my absolute favourites of all time. That Rage Against the Machines' song's intro is a headbanger though. Great reaction video fellas. Loved it.
The Matrix was the very definition of cool back then, and still holds on. And yes, a lot of people say this is not fiction but a documentary :) Oh, and there are NO sequels on this one, that’s a myth. Animatrix is a great spin off, but there’s no such thing as a Matrix sequel as far as I am concerned.
This film is awesome today. But 2 decades ago when I hadn't seen anything out there that was similar to this or inspired by it... un-fucking-believable.
I almost didn't go to this film, because the only thing I knew about Keanu Reeves was Bill & Ted, and I thought, "Really? I don't know..." but my friends had already seen The Matrix and all said, "No, you don't understand! He's great in this, and the whole film is awesome! You have to see it! You have to!" So I begrudgingly went... only to LOVE it. I rewatch the first film every so often, because I just love it so much. It blew my mind, and it's so fun. So so good. Thanks for reacting to it! I still want to be Trinity when I grow up. 😉
Something most people I know missed, Switch calls Neo Copper Top in the car under the bridge. 12:12 explains why, but by the time you get there you're so in to what's going on it's likely forgotten she said that to him before the bug removal excitement. Rewatching sheds so much light on so many behaviors and other details. I went 9 times when it was in theatres, still one of my top favorites today.
Ahh, you didn’t show his pose right after he takes out Agent Smith. He destroys his body and flexes, which causing the world around him to bend, and then he looks up at the other two agents who immediately flee. That was the most badass scene in the movie.
Saw this when I was 19,and watched it about 10 times in the theater, it was so awesome and dense and addictive. I must have watched it 1000 times by this point over the years. It's in my Top 5 movies of all time. It is an amalgamation of Philosophies, Anime, Mythologies and Science Fiction and other stuff. The sequels were disappointing, but still kind of entertaining. Pretty excited about number 4, hopefully it's better than those.
I just watched all three movies couple of days ago in one setting and holy shit I forgot how good this shit was. One of the best stories ever told. And not to forget the CGI on this for 90's CGI is just top notch! I first watched it when I was kid and loved it even more as an adult.
I`m a huge fan of "The Terminator & The Matrix", and I loved your reaction. It`s a pity I`m one year late but THANK YOU! I remember the time when "The Matrix" was released. It divided people into lovers and haters of this movie. The haters were those who didn`t understand it. It was always a good feeling to meet a new Matrix Lover :))) Probably someone already commented on this, but I have to mention it anyway. Many still don`t know that The Mother of "The Terminator" and "The Matrix" is the genius writer Sophia Stewart, who wrote her book in the 80s. You can google her and take a look at her magnificent personal story. Her idea was stolen from her. But she had the gut to fight back. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger called her and offered her $50,000 shush-up money. But she turned him down and went to court. Against all odds, she won! Also, Neo didn`t choose this alias by accident. When you mix the letters N E O, you get O N E. This means that it was clear from the start that he was "The ONE" 😎:)
I have such a clear memory of being about nine years old at a family reunion and my uncle pestering all us kids to watch this movie. I wasn’t at all interested. So glad I finally watched it a few years later when I could really appreciate it.
I watched on a dvd and I was around 12-13 year old in the eastern world. I literally had to focus to really understand this movie and still I couldn't. There was no internet so half the shit I didn't understand remained lost to me. Glad I finally can watch again with more appreciation.
Weirdly, Hugo Weaving's interview/interrogation scene here - before stuff got really weird - is the first introduction I had to ASMR in movies. And then the Oracle checking Neo over was my second.
When people got out of the Theatre at the movie's release, they where all like looking around them and at each others. Almost like they where questioning if what they where seeing was real or if they where in the Matrix... Wich was funny to see.
This movie is emotional to me. A journey about believing in yourself and tearing down all yhe things youre conditioned to believe through your whole life, and grow confident!
I remember walking out of it being amazed by the fact that this was the only science fiction movie that could be actually real. Like, actually happening in OUR reality and not just a future or parallel fictional one(you know, when the president is not the actual one and such) .
actually Keanu wasone of my fav heroes through the nineties, starting with Speed. Big crush. Loved him in devils advocate although i was too little to see it in the nineties (but i caught speed yeah ;) haha those days) same with point break. class acting. i loved his Jonathan in Coppolas Dracula despite imperfections and Constantine was so badass, which came after matrix trilogy. Keanu is really good in most things he's done IMO. And Carrie another underrated Canadian actor and am glad they both became the superstars they deserve to be in this film/franchise. oh another trivia, Carrie did that granite hall shootout scene with fractured ankle. she broke it while training, but hid her pain so as to not lose her role or get cut out if she delays the production. Blessed thing, she was so adorably dedicated 💖
If u guys have not watched Babylon, u should give it a watch. It goes thru the motions the birth of film, cinema and Hollywood celebrities. At the end, there is a nod to the matrix and it gives me chills because of how it ties in to the Babylon story and the meaning behind it. And it does it all in a single flash. Matrix will always be iconic and still holds up well today. I was so blown away by the matrix. I was a junior in high school. Didn't fully understand it but the visuals were ground setting and I was blown away. My friend even ran up the walls of the theater hallways. He was on the athletic side which made it even funnier
This was actually groundbreaking the time it came out. The time when Internet was just becoming a mainstream consumer thing. Not to mention the first time bullet time was ever done as a special effect.
If you know a little about Buddhism and self enlightening this movie is a mind blown. The building that Trinity is at the beginning is call Heart, and is where everything starts and ends. All names of the movie are important. Neo is dead 33 seconds. Trinity kiss, she is the Trinity energy he needs to become enlightened. Every scene is you analyze it is like a teaching straight from a class.
The "Not like this.." by Switch is a meme. I STILL use it to this day lol and see if people have watched the movie because it's iconic. I remember being a kid in the mid-late 90s and having such classic movies come out and this was definitely one of my favs. I had the VHS lol. But yeah this entire movie has so many quotable moments and memorable scenes. "Dodge this" lol.
the fact that Dave wants to assume and after 3 miss fire he learned his lesson proves that the movie got you hooked. (well it happened in squid game too)

I wish Dave had picked up on what the Oracle told Neo in small talk. Oracle: Sorry, kid. You got the gift, but it looks like you're waiting for something... Your next life, maybe. End of the film Neo is shot and killed only to be resurrected by love's kiss... Just like Sleeping Beauty in reverse.
@@BaddMedicine To be fair the movie is a lot to absorb when you first watch it. When it came out I barely picked up on what the Oracle was telling him.
not to mention the oracle said no one can tell you you're the one, just like no one can tell you you're in love, you just know. Yet she had told trinity earlier she would be in love with the one.
Rewatching this time, I just realized the movie "Inception" was inspired by the Matrix too. The scenes where Cobb taught Ariadne how dreams work and how to bend it, it's kind of like the "tutorial scenes" where Morpheus teaches Neo how the Matrix works but instead "believe yourself".
Matrix is one of these movie who define a new genre, and a new era for the cinema. There was a before and a after. A classic.
Aye same. I actually think it was the last VHS I ever owned.
@@lordomacron3719 I think it might’ve been the last new VHS I ever owned as well😂
Your parents did the right thing, letting you see it but supervising just in case.
"Wait, so hes not the one?!"
"Thats what she said."
Well, "technically" she never said he wasnt.
You’re right, she never said it. And she also said “no one can tell you you’re in love, you just know it”…just like being the one.
it's hard to explain to today's audience what a futuristic epic experience it was to watch this in 1999 and it was such mindfuck lol. the idea was so revolutionary and people were really coming out of the cinema like: omg are we in the Matrix right now?!?!
So thanks!
We got you! 🤜🤛
Another thing about Hugo Weaving, is that he voiced Megatron in transformers, what an incredbile performance!
Megatron voice is great. Didn't remember that. 👍🤙
Good stuff!
'The Animatrix' is cool. A set of short extra stories/history before The Matrix...each a different style of animation. For the main back-story...how it all came about...I think of it as the future 200 years after the movie 'I Robot'. Worth a watch.
We will see what we can do.
He had done films like *Point Break* and *Speed.*
Constantine didn't come out until '05. You have the timeline mixed up. Great reaction!
UTAH, GIVE ME 2!
and constantine is really good.
What about Devil's Advocate? Before Matrix as well
@@TimothySimons-w2g Devil's Advocate is awesome!
One of the greatest movies of all time. It's the first time the inspiration of anime came into a mainstream movie
(the wachowskis were directly inspired by ghost in the shell 1995, another genre defining classic film, which is even more obvious on the Animatrix)
So many ideas about the nature of the human mind, consciousness, systemic oppression and systems of control, AI and the future of technology. It's stuff that's still very relevant today, even more so now that these things are even more part of our daily lives.
Thank you folks for reacting to it!
Thank you and thanks for watching🤙
Still one of the most groundbreaking, impactful classics ever created
Like Quinn, I'm massive fan of The Matrix movies too! The mouth part on Neo still makes me squirm even today, so glad to see your reactions to such an iconic movie franchise!
Its the only movie I paid 3 times to seeing at the theater. It just blew my mind from the story to the special effects
For 1999, they were great
Having Dave there purely for every time Quinn looked at his reaction to various scenes was worth him being there.
Keanu was a household name he just wasn’t a worldwide phenomenon but he did My Own Private Idaho in 1991, Point Break in 1991, Dracula in 1992 Speed in 1994, and The Devils Advocate in 1997
He was doing well before this. Matrix helped bring him to the next level. Fair a bit.
Thank you. We appreciate it and we are also looking forward to it. 🤘
Interesting
The green tint was added after post production. I remember I was able to download an Open Matte version of this movie. That was the bomb, seeing this awesome movie using 100% of your screen instead of having the top/bottom cropped out with black bars. Only problem was that it didn't have the green tint and it was only 720p since it was pre-production footage.
🤘🤘🤘
Did you realise that Mouse died because Neo saw a CAT? LMAO, so clever...
Missed that. I really need to have a second watch. 🤣🤣🤣
Love this movie. The "KYM" in the elevator can be two things: "Know Your Mind" or a fun nod to Kym Barrett the film's costume designer. River's Edge was the first film where I thought Keanu stood out as a potential star.
Awesome. Knew there had to be a meaning behind it.
Great reaction. Just subbed.
And yeah, this movie melted my brain in the theatre in '99. And BTW, what a great year in cinema. Matrix, Fight Club, Magnolia, Boondock Saints, Sixth Sense, just to name a few.
Thank you for watching and the sub! We appreciate it! And wow, you're right, what a year for cinema!
And blade the year before
The Matrix would probably be my first pick for forgetting a movie and seeing it again for the first time.
I got to watch this movie as a homework assignment for a Philosophy class. Mind blown.
Pretty much every1 who saw The Matrix when it came saw it at least a second time to understand what actually happened 🙂
Morpheus didn't speak in riddles, he was explaining that they are essentially in a computer program and said things in a way that Neo(as a hacker) would understand
"Reality" is nothing but electrical impulses in the brain, so reality can be created or altered by the correct "input" and Neo just needed to understand how this specific program was working
Cyphers actor(Joe Pantoliano) is so freaking good, he is in a couple of other classics: "La Bamba" and "Memento"
The kids floating the blocks at the oracles.. One of the blocks has a picture of a helicopter and a 3 below it, as in trinity. Later the scene when Neo saves her is when they are positive he is the one.
I definitely need to do a 2nd watch
Favorite movie ever. This movie goes beyond reality, literally. Nothing else compares. Beautiful cinema.
No, it doesn't: it describes aspects of your current reality. It, also, describes your future reality if you don't start paying more attention.
Yeah, should've known it was coming.
This film is one of my absolute favourites of all time. That Rage Against the Machines' song's intro is a headbanger though.
Great reaction video fellas. Loved it.
Thank you and thank you for watching. Rage against the machine is always a great listen.
This is the most quote-able movie ever. 90% of those lines belong to Morpheus
I know kung fu
@@BaddMedicine show me
The Matrix was the very definition of cool back then, and still holds on. And yes, a lot of people say this is not fiction but a documentary :) Oh, and there are NO sequels on this one, that’s a myth. Animatrix is a great spin off, but there’s no such thing as a Matrix sequel as far as I am concerned.
🤘😂
This film is awesome today. But 2 decades ago when I hadn't seen anything out there that was similar to this or inspired by it... un-fucking-believable.
🔥🔥🔥
I almost didn't go to this film, because the only thing I knew about Keanu Reeves was Bill & Ted, and I thought, "Really? I don't know..." but my friends had already seen The Matrix and all said, "No, you don't understand! He's great in this, and the whole film is awesome! You have to see it! You have to!" So I begrudgingly went... only to LOVE it. I rewatch the first film every so often, because I just love it so much. It blew my mind, and it's so fun. So so good. Thanks for reacting to it!
I still want to be Trinity when I grow up. 😉
Thank you for watching. Great stuff here! And there's still time. 🤙🤘
@@BaddMedicine Haha! Working on it... 🤘😎
Looking forward to checking out more of your channel! This is my first visit.
Happy you found us! 🤘🤙
I am still amazed at the special effects - my favourite is the reflections in the sunglasses
Great stuff here. We just recorded 2 last night and should be out next week. 🤙
Great, will be fun to see how you'll react to that one. 👍
🤘🤘🤘
Now you know why it blew our mind when it came out.
I just watched all three movies couple of days ago in one setting and holy shit I forgot how good this shit was. One of the best stories ever told. And not to forget the CGI on this for 90's CGI is just top notch! I first watched it when I was kid and loved it even more as an adult.
The action is fantastic!
5/5 for me. It's in the top tier of great movies.
You guys are really funny. Great reactions. Another great reaction channel
Thank you and thank you for watching. We appreciate it! 🤙
It was always a good feeling to meet a new Matrix Lover :)))
Probably someone already commented on this, but I have to mention it anyway.
So glad I finally watched it a few years later when I could really appreciate it.
you guys asked about the initials on the lift? KYM? That's the wachowski sisters' tribute to Kym Barrett the costume designer.
Ahhhh. Gotcha. Thank you! 🤙
I watched on a dvd and I was around 12-13 year old in the eastern world. I literally had to focus to really understand this movie and still I couldn't. There was no internet so half the shit I didn't understand remained lost to me. Glad I finally can watch again with more appreciation.
Don't worry, I'm still confused🤣🤣🤣
Weirdly, Hugo Weaving's interview/interrogation scene here - before stuff got really weird - is the first introduction I had to ASMR in movies. And then the Oracle checking Neo over was my second.
🤙
When people got out of the Theatre at the movie's release, they where all like looking around them and at each others.
Almost like they where questioning if what they where seeing was real or if they where in the Matrix...
Wich was funny to see.
🤣🤣
This movie is emotional to me. A journey about believing in yourself and tearing down all yhe things youre conditioned to believe through your whole life, and grow confident!
I remember walking out of it being amazed by the fact that this was the only science fiction movie that could be actually real. Like, actually happening in OUR reality and not just a future or parallel fictional one(you know, when the president is not the actual one and such) .
I have rewatched this movie a lot over the years and see new things often. It's amazing what you miss.
I saw Dogstar perform live in '98 and Keanu's eyebrows were still growing back.
"Speed" and "The Matrix" are my favorite Keanu Reeves movies.
Classics! 🤙
actually Keanu wasone of my fav heroes through the nineties, starting with Speed.
Great stuff here. Yeah, Keanu is great and Carrie does fantastic as trinity.
Keano had the biggest hit of 1994 in Speed.
Pretty sure that everybody thinks of John Wick when Neo says "Yeah!".
I mean... Wick's pissed "Yeah!" is the best one in movie history. :D
Lol...Yeah (John Wick voice) I would agree! 🤣🤘🤙
15:52 - I slightly beg to disagree. Watch his movie with Sandra Bullet, "Speed", that movie was a big hit.
He was on the athletic side which made it even funnier
the chick DuJour with the white rabbit tattoo is an Australian actress Ada Nicodemu who was in Aussie soaps Heartbreak High, and Home and Away
👍
Oh, would I love to be able to watch this again without having any recollection of what happened
🤣🤣🤘🤘
These are my favourite types of movies, the ones where reality isn't what it first appears to be, because......art imitates life 🙏
Tons of layers to these movies.
Computer Boy is my fav neo performance as it combines all of keanus performances

Even after decades, whenever i have a deja vu moment, the black cat scene keeps coming to mind. Just goes to show how this movie is stamped in one's psyche.
To THIS DAY, any time I get that sense of deja vu I always tell my husband there’s been a glitch in the matrix😂

I'm so, so curious about how they're going to pull off The Matrix Resurrections.
It's 2021, and I'm supposed to be afraid of living in a simulated reality, trapped forever in 1999?

I wish Dave had picked up on what the Oracle told Neo in small talk.
Oracle: Sorry, kid. You got the gift, but it looks like you're waiting for something... Your next life, maybe.
End of the film Neo is shot and killed only to be resurrected by love's kiss...
Just like Sleeping Beauty in reverse.
Yeah, that went over my head. Clearly. 🤣🤣🤣🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ I was still trying to piece other things together. Lol.

I couldn't even begin to guess how many times I've seen these Matrix movies. I saw this first one in the theater five separate times.
That was also the first time I notices the Gun's and Ammo sign at the start lol
I had to watch this movie 3 times before I finally had a good grasp on everything.
I need to watch it again for sure lol
Saw this movie back then in a preview, with just no clue about the movie. What a dope experience⚡️⚡️
Little flaw at 13:28. How is Neo able to move his head around like that, when there is a foot-long cable sticking out of its back?
Rewatching this time, I just realized the movie "Inception" was inspired by the Matrix too.
The scenes where Cobb taught Ariadne how dreams work and how to bend it, it's kind of like the "tutorial scenes" where Morpheus teaches Neo how the Matrix works but instead "believe yourself".
I got a Matrix code wallpaper after you guys mentioned it in the video. best idea I've done this year 😂😂
Awesome! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Matrix is one of these movie who define a new genre, and a new era for the cinema. There was a before and a after. I remenber the day the film went on screen, I was that captivated that i spend the whole afternoon watching it, 3 time in a raw in one day. We also create a role playing game called "Matrix Evolution". If i may say, the matrix is the movie that can't be rated, you could write an essay about it, or even make it an aggregation thesis that it wouldn't be enough ....................
14:39 - Morpheus is like a power hitter at the plate, as the pitcher throws him a nice big fat pitch that he's about to send out of the park...
🔥🔥🔥
Diamond Dave was my grandpa's nickname in his unit in ww2
Constantine (which is awesome) didnt come out until 6 years after that. But he did have Speed and Point Break before this so idt this is his breakout cause both of those were pretty big
Just realized when he meets the oracle he first has to accept cookies from her... like a website LUL
Wish I could go back and watch this for the first time. Jelly of that
Hahaha yup! Good call out there! On the cookies that is. 🤘
In my opinion, this is ONE of the Best Trilogies ever created. And as far as RESURRECTION goes, I haven't watched it yet. I'm curious to see if it is as good as the first. Great Post, guys.
Okay, I have watched a fair few of your reactions now, and just clocked, the start of your outro music, is that based on / inspired by doctor who?
Hello! The outro at the end I bought. Thought it was awesome. Lol. Wish I had a way cooler story.
Listened couple more times, think just sounds like couple repeated chords that sound the same lol. But your right, it's hype 👍
This was based on a story written originally by Plato, called 'Plato's cave.' You can find information about it online.
