Most viewers disliked the Architect segment of this movie because they did not understand the cryptic explanations he gives to Neo. I must confess i did not understand it either at first time watching. But actually it all makes perfect sense and is quite brilliantly written : He explains to Neo that although his designs of the first iterations of the Matrix were all flawless and mathematical perfect, they did not work out for reasons he was unable to fully determine. Thats because he, as a being based on mathematical perfection and logic, has a fundamental problem of correctly interpreting the chaotic and partially contradictory nature of the human mind. His very nature prevents him finding a solution to his problem of creating a Matrix which the majority of human minds accept as reality. So the architect seeked help from an external analytical program which was specifically written to study and understand human nature in detail. To get a different perspective on the problem if you will. The Oracle. She came up with a rather brilliant solution to the architects problem which, although he did not fully understood it, helped him to create a new Matrix based on the Oracle's suggestions. A mathematical system which is unbalanced and imperfect on purpose. One that creates fluctuations and over time, a terminal anomaly (The one) who ultimately puts up a fight brings the Matrix to a total breakdown. The thing is that this seemingly strange and purposefully instable design for the Matrix was more successful and by far more durable than anything the Architect was able to create thus far. It just demands a periodical failure and reboot to the Matrix, each time triggered by the appearance of the terminal mathematical anomaly. In case of the currently running version of the Matrix, this was Neo.
And after each reboot the Architect can tweak things a bit to perhaps expand it's lasting functionality time. Since there was things like werewolves ,vampires, ghosts, etc. in prior versions, maybe myths or actual different eras in time has been used as a simulation start?
There was an MMO that was put out that was considered cannon by the sisters. That actually talks about earlier matrixes the human christian concept of heaven was actually the first matrix..the agents were angels. That was the perfect matrix that humans rejected.
when characters suddenly became the "Architect" and the "key maker" then the movie becomes farcical. The whole architect scene has been parodied to death because its silly and pompous as hell. Dont get me started that the oracle is suddenly the mother of the matrix and Agent Smith calling her mom. Cringe.
The thing that annoyed me about the "Architect" is that, if his core programming was _that_ precise and logical that he couldn't understand basic human nature, then there's absolutely _no_ way he should have spoken the way he did. A permanently logical machine wouldn't talk in riddles and overloaded sentences with insanely complex or "old" words. They would be an absolute straight-talker, using the least amount of _simple / basic_ language possible to get their entire point across in as factional a way possible. They might run away a little bit with using definitions of things and getting _too_ minutely detailed about a topic - very much as Data speaks in Star Trek - but they definitely wouldn't have _any_ emotion in how they speak, and they definitely would _not_ refer to someone as being a "mother" or "father" since those words are intrinsically linked to the emotions of being a parent or child.

The music, action, concept, the story the anomaly everything is top-notch for a film. And the best part is the first time when we watch we give a normal rating, but watching it, again and again, peels up of new theory and we fall in love with the film.
After watching again I’ve realized that the prophecy very well could’ve been true but Neo never actually went to the source. He chose the door that led back to the matrix to save Trinity
This is still my favorite Matrix, even though I know the first one is a better movie. I love how Reloaded goes deep into the lore, and I'm a sucker for universe bulding, which this movie does greatly. They talk about the programs in the Matrix, monsters (like the Ghost twins and the vampires and werewolves) and why they exist, the whole creation of the Matrix, all its versions, the desconstruction of the Prophecy of the one PLUS the whole Zion is about to be destroyed thing. Also, the action scenes, I mean, just incredible. And to think this movie (along with the 3rd one) got a very lukewarm reception back in the day...
Agreed. The first can stand alone and stand the test of time. But in terms of rewatch ability and entertainment I just love the blood pumping music and action of this movie.
The only real problem with this one is they pulled some things out of their ass, and it got clunky with the revelations. Too much "what the....?" moments throughout.
I love all 3 of them tbh for what they are. They were all very entertaining and stood apart from each other whilst staying connected. Iconic movies for me.
Completely disregarded Trinity weaving the motorcycle into oncoming traffic on the highway?! Seriously. WTF, guys. Literally one of the best parts of any car chase sequences ever. -_-
Just made it to 1:50 and I'm a little unsure about something here... was this your first time watching? Thanks for answering :) Also the game "Enter The Matrix" tells a story concurrent with the events in this movie, and there are scenes where a character walks off-screen in the movie and steps immediately into a scene in the game and vice versa, so you can line up the timing and pause the game and the movie in the right moments to alternate between them.
They destroyed 300 donated cars over a 3 month period shooting that chase scene. They also built nearly 2 miles of walled multi lane highway for the scene.
Mostly when people say they don't like this movie, they follow up with mentioning The Zion scene, and Architect scene. Which blows my mind as these scenes are both the depth and story telling of the movie. Yet all anyone wants is the action scenes. I remember going crazy during the architect scene and finding out there were others and this whole the one thing was just a cycle. And then Neo decoding to risk it all for Trinity with no actual plan how he's gonna save the human race had all like damn he selfish lol. So idk matric Reloaded is a solid 4.6 at least
I always find it cool seeing actors meet in different universes, like the leading agent from the 3 on 1 fight in the beginning, Daniel Bernhardt, meeting Keanu Reeves again in John Wick as Kirill the smart bodyguard.
Hi, im from Brasil and I subscribed to your channel the other day, and just now I watched this Matrix reaction. I'll comment on this one, but it applies to the other reacts in the trilogy and the 4th. When it came out in 1999, I went to see it in the cinema, and for me, to this day, this is the best science fiction film ever made! They brought many cinematographic innovations. Virtual filmography and everything else. The trilogy is excellent, the 4th hm... it was a bit boring but it was nice to see some of the characters again. Rating 5 out of 5, 10 out of 10, 1000 out of 1000. Your channel is amazing! Wow
At the time of its release in 1980 the Blue Brothers movie held the record for the most cars destroyed in a single film. The filmmakers purchased 60 police cars and destroyed most if not all of them during. In addition to the large car chases the movie destroyed the inside of the Dixie Square Mall and dropped a car from a helicopter to simulate a car driving off the end of of an unfinished expressway ramp. All practical effects as one would expect for era.
I've always wondered with these movies, from the second on up, how the people in the Matrix are supposed to explain all the things they see when Neo and Co. are fighting Agents and stuff. They're gonna have to do some major spin doctoring on the news to explain away all the crazy magic-like stunts those people in the cars are seeing on the highway.
How did neo wake up in the first one wondering if the tracker in his belly button and his mouth being melted shut were real? They're plugged in to the matrix, controlled by the machines, I'd wager a guess the machines have a way to do soft reboots or short term wipes of memories by that iteration.
Awesome reaction dude's🍻 my Trilogy Blu-ray collection was supposed to be here today but got delayed but always loved this films the times I did see it even sorry theaters back in the day! FYI I didn't get a notification for this upload i had too search for you guys my notification Bell is on!
Thank you! Lots of layers here in this movie. That's interesting. I do feel like a quarter of the peeps that have everything on doesn't get notified. Which is a RUclips problem. Wish they would fix that.
Man hurts my soul watching this and hearing the guys say they can't wait for the new one for how they will up the ante on fight scenes. We got alot of force pushing instead
Fun fact That whole freeway was built specifically for the movie out in the desert. It was a circle they just kept driving in a circle. That's why the walls are so high so they didn't just ruin a bunch of cars, they spent millions on building a fake freeway
They introduced Zion in this one , but everything that had to do with the matrix was like a Japanese comic ( backwards) to me... But I have a question tho : the Mr Smith was he like the matrix having a glitch to save it self because it's normal defensive measures wasn't getting it done?
Smith in the first film was already the most sentient of the agents. He was like a program behaving like a human, and he had his own motives. When Neo supposedly destroyed him by going through him, a piece of The One's source code was imprinted on to Smith when he was "rebooted", for lack of a better word. When he came back, he still kept his motives, but now with some of The One's code is able to manipulate certain things, namely being able to copy himself. For all intents and purposes, he literally and figuratively became a computer virus.
Reloaded is my favourite from the series. The action scenes are PERFECT. The new film has terrible modern choreography and camerawork, just puke inducing.
(Around 11:32) "If I had a nickel for everytime the media company Nickalodeon paid homage to this scene in one of their animated tv shows, I'd have two nickels... Which isn't a lot, but it's strange it's happened twice."
3:08 , the agent at the front who said "Only human" was in John Wick 1 and the Key Maker too as a doctor and of course Morpheus was there. (If i remember he said something in ref to Matrix in John Wick by the way) 7:30 , for the trainning, in Matrix 1 it was more than 7 month of training for all the actors with a famous guy and few less in Matrix 2/3. 15:57 : they're older program of the previous version of the Matrix , some are from Antique like Twin Ghost , Werewolf (once get killed by Persephone). The Merovingian help and take in his group older program to the Purge that the Architect done to the Matrix. Programs they didn't want to die. 20:53 , many cars (many fake by computers) but another fact, all the field for this scene is fake. They made only for the movie a long long highway for making these scenes.
keanu reeves is a black belt in the following styles, Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Wushi, Krav Maga, Judo and Karate one of the few actors that is highly trained as reeves is Wesley Snipes he has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Shotokan Karate, Capoeira, Kung Fu and Kick Boxing please let me know what you think
You shouldn't explain what's-what in each scene just because you have seen the movie. Let your people come to their own realization at the right time, even if it appears to be obvious to you. Please take this as constructive criticism and not as a put-down. Other than that, awesome job guys.
The architect segment is an English vocabulary test. That's it. What he said was very simple. But the writers threw in every ultra technical, uncommon outside the most elite academic circle, word they could find and put them in his dialogue. Resulting in the minds of the common peasants like us short circuiting.
Still love the film, but there are some things about it, namely: 'Holy shit, he caught her!' ... At Mach 3 ... At that speed, both he and whatever he's catching is gonna instantly liquefy to gore miles along the city streets.
Also guys I enjoyed it...so I have a newer movie suggestion.. called cop shop (I think )with The Butler in it...there is a young female deputy (ex -military) carries a a 45 and she is absolutely gorgeous but very good movie, it was at redbox
The Matrix films were inspired by both Blade Runner & the 1995 anime film, Ghost In The Shell. The scene where Trinity jumps out of the window in the beginning of The Matrix Reloaded? That's from the anime film I just mentioned.
yeah thats pretty much it, Spectres/Wraiths Since it goes off, of what we are told about older programs that are now parasiting in the latest OS of the Matrix and when people talk about "Ghosts" or "Monsters" in the matrix its actually either Glitches they have witnessed or Programes doing their thing. It is somethign that is kinda explained in one of the shorts from the Animatrix. Wich i also recommend the Guys watch, normaly the Animatrix sits between the 1st and 2nd movie iirc
Cut the beginning and just begin it at Trinity hitting the car and Neo waking up, also cut the Smith fight scene short once it goes stretchy CG and the movie is so much better.
My favorite little fact is that if Smith never fought neo and morph in the hallway, neo and morph would have died if they opened that door at that time. So Smith saved their lives and zion, again.
Great reaction, guys, but you left out an awesome scene where the merovingian sends the cake to the blonde woman. It's great, and you get to take more in of the merovingian. Please dont tell me these reactions are PG 13
True Story: I took my younger brother to see this in the cinema. Completely by accident, we parked in Trinity Place car park... I didn't even realise until we walked back to the car afterwards
16:39 "After watching these fight scenes, I'm so pumped for the new Matrix to come out, because what are they going to do to up [the ante]?" The answer was apparently have 20 times WORSE fight scenes!
First time watching Matrix Reloaded sitting in front of a microphone recording yourself... Oh man in 2003 I was there with a bunch of friends cheering in the cinema then we ate wings, that's how you do it.
I don't know the exact number of cars in the movie, but i can tell you it isn't anything near the largest number to be wasted in a crash scene, or an entire movie for that matter... for evidence i point you to "The Blues Brothers" both one and two (or should i say 2000 hehe).. Watch those and tell me that this wrecked anything close to those numbers.. LOL ;) I don't think i've ever seen that many cars piled on top of one another anywhere else, and that was back in the Pre-CGI era when they actually had to wreck those cars and couldn't just draw them in like they did in this one.. ;) hehehehe
Sad to hear you express your excitement for the action in the new movie because unfortunately it falls flat and is much slower and choppier. I big let down 💔
Matrix 3 might be dropping in the next few days and we just recorded resurrections. It will be interesting to see what everyone thinks of it. One of the guys felt the way you did.
While I do agree with you about the choppiness of the action scenes in the new one, they are somewhat on par for the Matrix franchise. The "coolest" one was definitely towards the end with the swarm of "Kamikazes" coming after them and how they were splattering all over.
@@moonakieater2308 There's really not much more you can do with fights/cgi that will shock people like the first movie did, but overall I thought the movie was still enjoyable. It almost didn't even really need fighting.

The baddass agent on the truck fighting Morpheus is also John Wick's baddass bodyguard in the club scene, the one who gives John a hard time.
🤘🤘🤘
Mason Quinn with his voice can easily get into a death metal band. XD. loved your reaction as always. ♥️
🤣🤣🤣🤘🤘🤘🤘
Just made it to 1:50 and I'm a little unsure about something here... was this your first time watching? Thanks for answering :)
Also the game "Enter The Matrix" tells a story concurrent with the events in this movie, and there are scenes where a character walks off-screen in the movie and steps immediately into a scene in the game and vice versa, so you can line up the timing and pause the game and the movie in the right moments to alternate between them.
They destroyed 300 donated cars over a 3 month period shooting that chase scene. They also built nearly 2 miles of walled multi lane highway for the scene.
🤘🤘🤘
They also donated the highway parts to charity or something. Nothing more badass
Carrie-Anne Moss actually drove that bike with him on the back. That is so cool.
Thats awesome! Those 2 are great on screen together. Did you watch Resurrections?
Mostly when people say they don't like this movie, they follow up with mentioning The Zion scene, and Architect scene. Which blows my mind as these scenes are both the depth and story telling of the movie. Yet all anyone wants is the action scenes. I remember going crazy during the architect scene and finding out there were others and this whole the one thing was just a cycle. And then Neo decoding to risk it all for Trinity with no actual plan how he's gonna save the human race had all like damn he selfish lol. So idk matric Reloaded is a solid 4.6 at least
21:05 Don't have the numbers of cars used, but they did shoot for 3 Months to make that whole chase scene.
Whoa... 3 months? That's crazy, but awesome!
@@BaddMedicine GM gave them 300 cars and they wrecked every single one of them.
🤣🤣🤣 that's awesome. Here's 300 cars, have fun on us.
First time hearing someone say the effects of the fight with Smiths at Oracles place looked good :D
The upgrades Agents just being more jacked is a funny detail. Machines just going with more and bigger is better logic.
🤘
Wow
I skipped this movie in theaters, I thought it would be dumb. Then I finally saw it, and I loved it since. I wish I hadn’t skipped it in theaters
Seraph is actually an Agent program from an earlier version of the Matrix.
🤙🤙🤙
And he can match anyone
At the time of its release in 1980 the Blue Brothers movie held the record for the most cars destroyed in a single film. The filmmakers purchased 60 police cars and destroyed most if not all of them during. In addition to the large car chases the movie destroyed the inside of the Dixie Square Mall and dropped a car from a helicopter to simulate a car driving off the end of of an unfinished expressway ramp. All practical effects as one would expect for era.
Blues brothers, what a classic.
14:58 Nope, don't feel bad, that one took an extra watch to pick up on when your just enjoying the action first time round, and I was young as hell...
2:20 Mason's like 'Hehehe! Sure...'
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
21:00 - Around 300 cars were wrecked during production of The Matrix Reloaded.
Wow.
"He's a firewall" so on point!
The agent who says "only human" plays in John Wick Chapter 1...
Thanks for letting us know who's seen the movie.I hate watching reactions videos and then finding out 10 min in that they already see the movie
Your reviews are good guys, keep up the good work.
Thank you, Joel! We appreciate it. 🤙
This movie definitely gets better on a rewatch
Fun fact That whole freeway was built specifically for the movie out in the desert. It was a circle they just kept driving in a circle. That's why the walls are so high so they didn't just ruin a bunch of cars, they spent millions on building a fake freeway
22:31, The guy that dies right here is Leigh Whannell, who is one of the creators of the horror franchise, Saw.
Oh good tid bit there
@@BaddMedicine Yep.
Subbed. Awesome channel you guys have
Thank you and thanks for subbing! We appreciate it!🤙
The Burly Brawl is my favoritest ever!
rewatching a few of your old reactions and just wanna say; Be cool to meet for a few beers one day
salutations to my cousins across the pond
They build the entire highway for the scene with the Keymaker on an empty air force base. 2 1/2 mile loop How's that for set design.
FoR tHe AlGoRiThM
I hope you guys seen the new Matrix by now. Not going to spoil anything but a lot of people don't like it. It is quite different but I did enjoy it.
It's currently in the editor as we speak! Glad to hear you enjoyed it as a LOT of people didnt.
15:28 Best fight in cinema history in my opinion. The music, the choregraphy. This fight is totally superior to the Smith one earlier in the movie.
Fight scenes were incredible.
"Relax, Trinity!" If that was a dude asking another dude's gf for a kiss and the boyfriend pulled out a gun, the reaction wouldn't probably the same.
When the dude says what he says at 16:40, I just feel so bad knowing what will happen when he sees the new Matrix 🤦🏽♂️
🤣🤣🤣 it's currently in the editor. You'll be seeing his reaction soon. 🤙
@@BaddMedicine waiting with strained fingers and anticipated anxiety 😅🙌🏽 can't wait to see it!
They introduced Zion in this one , but everything that had to do with the matrix was like a Japanese comic ( backwards) to me... But I have a question tho : the Mr Smith was he like the matrix having a glitch to save it self because it's normal defensive measures wasn't getting it done?
Great question, not sure.
That would make sense
Reloaded is my favourite from the series. The action scenes are PERFECT. The new film has terrible modern choreography and camerawork, just puke inducing.
Fair criticism of Resurrections. And the action scenes in Reloaded were great.
(If i remember he said something in ref to Matrix in John Wick by the way)
7:30 , for the trainning, in Matrix 1 it was more than 7 month of training for all the actors with a famous guy and few less in Matrix 2/3.
It's cool to see some of these actors all together again in Wick
@@BaddMedicine i think It's links to the fact the director of the John Wick trilogy was the stunt of Keanu Reeves in Matrix.
Why you not download it from torrents in open matte full picture?
How many cars did they wreck doing this scene? I'm just gonna tell you they buit the bloody freeway to shoot that whole scene.
That's awesome! Wonder how much that cost to do?
Those old programs were based on older version of the matrix: ghosts, vampires, werewolves
Neo with the original "Wanna see me smack a bitch with another bitch?" XD
keanu reeves is a black belt in the following styles, Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Wushi, Krav Maga, Judo and Karate one of the few actors that is highly trained as reeves is Wesley Snipes he has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Shotokan Karate, Capoeira, Kung Fu and Kick Boxing please let me know what you think
Why is he in the ladies room!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
17:42 - Do you think that's air in those tires?
🤣🤣🤣🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I cant believe Tiger Chen got such a small role
great reaction
Thank you and thank you for watching! Revolutions & resurrections coming in the next week
oh my heart when he says he is pumped for the new matrix... im sorry brother its gonna hurt
You shouldn't explain what's-what in each scene just because you have seen the movie. Let your people come to their own realization at the right time, even if it appears to be obvious to you. Please take this as constructive criticism and not as a put-down. Other than that, awesome job guys.
Thank you for the feedback and thanks watching. 🤙🤙🤙
Matrix as so many layers of reading that it is indeed interesting to see how people perceives it for the first time.
never clicked for me that the French guy was in the washroom with the cake girl from earlier either lmfao
😂😂😂😂🤙🤙🤙
By the way everyone who doesn’t get it don’t understand machine city! That is gonna break all of your brains
Sadly the action choreographer for the original 3 matrix films won’t be involved for the fourth one…
Bummer
Yes that’s why it was crap. Shaky cams, too many quick cuts.. total missed opportunity
We just finished recorded Resurrections. One of the guys felt this way too.
The architect segment is an English vocabulary test. That's it. What he said was very simple. But the writers threw in every ultra technical, uncommon outside the most elite academic circle, word they could find and put them in his dialogue. Resulting in the minds of the common peasants like us short circuiting.
Lol. They weren't hard words to understand.
Still love the film, but there are some things about it, namely: 'Holy shit, he caught her!' ... At Mach 3 ... At that speed, both he and whatever he's catching is gonna instantly liquefy to gore miles along the city streets.
They made their own freeway for the highway scene. Many of cars were cgi, buy I don't know how many.
a theory is that the "real world" is just another level inside the matrix
Too bad its a fake theory.
What is reality and digital reality?
Also guys I enjoyed it...so I have a newer movie suggestion.. called cop shop (I think )with The Butler in it...there is a young female deputy (ex -military) carries a a 45 and she is absolutely gorgeous but very good movie, it was at redbox
Thanks Eddie, we can add that to the list.
They built 2 miles of highway for that scene and some company gave them 300 cars to destroy
🤙🔥🔥🔥
The key maker plays the doctor in John Wick.
🔐🗝️
The Matrix films were inspired by both Blade Runner & the 1995 anime film, Ghost In The Shell.
The scene where Trinity jumps out of the window in the beginning of The Matrix Reloaded? That's from the anime film I just mentioned.
🤙🤙🤙
Is funny now to see half the code do this and the other half not realizing their potential.
Agreed
Have y’all seen Brotherhood Of The Wolf (2001?)
I always called the guys who could turn invisible Wraiths.
Boom.
yeah thats pretty much it, Spectres/Wraiths
Since it goes off, of what we are told about older programs that are now parasiting in the latest OS of the Matrix and when people talk about "Ghosts" or "Monsters" in the matrix its actually either Glitches they have witnessed or Programes doing their thing.
It is somethign that is kinda explained in one of the shorts from the Animatrix.
Wich i also recommend the Guys watch, normaly the Animatrix sits between the 1st and 2nd movie iirc
Is that on a streaming service?
Cut the beginning and just begin it at Trinity hitting the car and Neo waking up, also cut the Smith fight scene short once it goes stretchy CG and the movie is so much better.
The agent Smith fight was incredible
My favorite little fact is that if Smith never fought neo and morph in the hallway, neo and morph would have died if they opened that door at that time. So Smith saved their lives and zion, again.
🔥🔥🔥
Great reaction, guys, but you left out an awesome scene where the merovingian sends the cake to the blonde woman. It's great, and you get to take more in of the merovingian.
Please dont tell me these reactions
are PG 13
Dude with the black hat just on his phone the whole damn time
i'm so pumped to watch the new matr........... oh damn. never mind.
🤣🤣🤣
True Story: I took my younger brother to see this in the cinema. Completely by accident, we parked in Trinity Place car park... I didn't even realise until we walked back to the car afterwards
16:39 "After watching these fight scenes, I'm so pumped for the new Matrix to come out, because what are they going to do to up [the ante]?" The answer was apparently have 20 times WORSE fight scenes!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 didn't age well
First time watching Matrix Reloaded sitting in front of a microphone recording yourself... Oh man in 2003 I was there with a bunch of friends cheering in the cinema then we ate wings, that's how you do it.
Best action in the whole trilogy
That agent Smith fight scene was nuts!
The Matrix trilogy is for me among the best movies in history. I do not accept any debate or discussion on this topic.
LOL ;) I don't think i've ever seen that many cars piled on top of one another anywhere else, and that was back in the Pre-CGI era when they actually had to wreck those cars and couldn't just draw them in like they did in this one.. ;) hehehehe
Why didn't Neo just turn around and go back through the door..
Ya'll should check out Kung Fu Hustle (2004) and Shaolin Soccer (2001).
We can add them to the list
I hv never understood why ppl didnt like Reloaded as much as the 1st
The incorporeal albino rastafarian twins is a really cool concept... they just didn't do anything cool in the movie. XD
Monica Bellucci’s smokin twins were hella interesting though. RAWR
