I think The Matrix 2 has the best action in the trilogy. I think Matrix 3 has the best ending in the trilogy, and The Matrix 1 is the best overall film in the trilogy. All 3 films have great subtext and philosophy, though!! An amazing trilogy of films.
You think wrong then. 3 has a crap ending. Part one has the best action.
@@MrParkerman6 nah, this one has the best action and choreography
The Matrix 1 knocked my socks off when I first saw it. But over time, it has lost its appeal. It spends too much time explaining what I already know. (Necessarily.)
I hated the ending of the 3rd when I watched it as a high school senior in theater and I still haven’t seen it since…. Maybe I need to revisit, but I’m not sure I wanna get disappointed again
Matrix 1 provided the setting and characters; Matrix 2 was Neo Beats Up Everyone.
In computer terms, the agents are antivirus programs, and the leftovers (the Keymaker, the ghost twins, Seraph) are leftover programs from previous version of the Matrix (bloatware). Agent Smith, a former antivirus program, is a special kind of virus program because it had been reprogrammed to include part of Neo's code.
Seraph, which is now the password/security firewall for the Oracle, is from the first iteration of the Matrix, the "Heaven" iteration (v.1.0), which Agent Smith was talking about when he had Morpheus chained up to a chair in the first movie. Seraph's challenging Neo to a fight was his way of seeing if Neo had the right password.
The Merovingian's soldiers, such as the ghost twins and werewolves, are from the "Hell" iteration of the Matrix, which was likely Matrix v.2.0. Also, the actors who played the twins were not only twins IRL, but masters in kung fu, so they knew what they were doing.
The fight choreography was a lot better because Keanu Reeves was in better shape. When the first movie was shot, Keanu had an injury that kept him from kicking or using his feet too much, so he focused on punches during his fight scenes back then.
I think you are correct. In addition, if anyone pays attention to the Architect, The Oracle is not the "Mother" of the internet, but rather it is Persephone, Queen of Hades and "bringer of death". As The Architect explained, people rejected the Matrix en mass untill they were given the illusion of choice. In other words, they wanted a "delete" function (a function wich doesn't actually delete anything, but instead, deceptively moves deletions to the trash bin, or Persephone's Hades). This is why Persephone's husband, the Merovingion (a French royal family that began reuniting the 2 French dynasties and he is likely representing the program "language" (get it!?) called Java which temporarily united PCs and Apple via machine language which is used by the computer's kernel, which inturn is represented by the subway and the Train Conductor in Matrix Revolution's opening scene... but back to the point...) this is why the Merovingian was able to collect the various bloatware you referred too, as the Merovingion's wife Persephone, the delete function, never fully deleted them but rather deceptively kept them in the trash bin called Hades. Atleast she never did delete them until she did delete one, with the silver bullet.
The Key Master was likely a brute force password making hacker program.
Hope you enjoyed my additions for you.
it may have actually been Agent Smith who explained the need for choice, not the Architect.
I wanted to say is that The Agents are the anti virus software, and is the good guys. Neo , morpheus trinity and the rest of the hackers are the bad guys. Point blank. Most people doesnt see it that way.
I've watched this a bunch of times and I still don't get, mythology-wise, what the ghost twins are. Are they like demons or something?
I agree 100% that Neo and co. are the bad guys. Cipher was doing everyone a favor. Imagine playing with your kids and new puppy in your backyard. BBQ grill is cooking your favorite food, birds are singing on a gorgeous day... when all of a sudden some robot is flushing you into a dreary, colorless, pointless world as someone else, you've never met, is standing over you saying "Welcome to the REAL world. You're welcome."
When neo jumped into agent Smith in the first movie, it rewrote his code with part of neo's code. Which gave agent Smith the ability to copy himself (code).
They literally explain that in this movie.
That’s the best and simplest explanation I’ve seen. A bunch of us in school were sitting around in 2003 trying to figure out how that happened. We came up with pretty good theories, but couldn’t put it in words. 👍
Trivia: Reloaded and Revolutions are filmed back-to-back. Reloaded releases at May 2003 and Revolutions was release 6 months later in November 2003.

"I felt like sitting."
"I know."
One of my favorite interactions in these movies.

One Purpose to rule them all.
One Purpose to find them.
One Purpose to bring them all,
and in the Matrix bind them.
- Agent Elrond Smith
Yeah as soon as I heard Bind Them I just thought oh Fellowship of the Matrix Agent.
😎
"Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" is a great movie Choreographed by the same guy.
That movie is also gorgeous if remember correctly. Its like a work of art
@@ambergallen4144 yes. Its a true Master piece of cinema. They need to experience it.
The agent who Morpheus fought on top of the semi-truck is the same guy who threw John Wick off the balcony in the night club in the first movie.
Seriously guys. Eddie Murphy, "The Golden Child" no one has reacted to it yet.
One thing about Keanu, that man will give you ACTIONNNNN! John Wick is my fav from Keanu and Bill & Ted is my guilty pleasure 😂
Bill and Ted is so my not so guilty pleasure. I can’t feel guilty for those movies, specifically the first, giving me so much joy.
Man of tai chi is a genuinely good movie.
Yeah, Escape from New York is a classic piece of dystopian sci fi that needs to be watched.
Then Escape from LA
Kurt Russel is the boss..
Escape from L.A. is alot dumber, buuuuuut it's also way funner! lol but the first one is the 'good' film. They're both personal favorites of mine though 🤙🏻
This is by far my favourite of the three. The martial arts scenes and chases are top notch, Neo is established as ‘the one’.
Monica. Bellucci.
The kid who is obsessed with Neo, is a character from the Animatrix.
It’s a collection of short stories from the matrix, I highly recommend it.
After “the second renaissance” you’ll understand why the machines did it.
After the final movie, they gotta watch Animatrix. It’s so good.
@@CowboydanYT Nobody ever reacts to the Animatrix for some reason, so I wouldn't hold your breath.
@@CowboydanYTthe animatrix should be watched between 1 and 2. Some shorts were released to hype the second movie and then the whole thing was released right when Reloaded came out. The final flight of the Osiris sets up Zion learning about the machines drilling down to them.
I'm one that actually loves all these and the animatrix, but i was born and raised on cyberpunk ,anime ,hong kong action, sci fi action, comics, basically most thing that inspired these movies. Was like a shot of everything i loved straight in the neck : P
I dig the handle and the photo. That image is actually, really cool. 👍
@@V0ltron love Voltron : D
I totally agree! I love this trilogy! I’m with @voltron. 🔥🔥 Handle and profile pic.
The kid that wants to carry Neo's bags is actually a character from a short story in the Animatrix series. It's very good, multiple short stories. But that kid is from one in particular.
The staircase to highway scenes back to back is like so much non stop action all in one consecutive sequence that doesn't let up for like twenty plus minutes straight I love that part of this movie so much.
"It's a shrimp bomb. An explosive shrimp!" 😂 Your reactions are cracking me up lol
Keanu Reeves said that he had to memorize more moves for the choreography of the 1000 Agent Smiths fight than the entire first film.
Have you seen John Wick, yet? This is why Keanu Reeves is one of the best, if not, the best action star. Also.. Point Break, Speed, Matrix Trilogy, John Wick Trilogy... there are many.
Swazy is in Point Break.
John wick trilogy sucks. It's all cannon fodder action scenes with a weak plot that a 5 year old can follow.
"THAT'S HOW WE DO IT OUT HERE, WE MASSAGE SOME HEARTS!" 😆
2002 was a great year for movies. Matrix 2 & 3, lord of the rings 2, blade 2. Good times.
Your forgetting the true masterpiece of cinema that year: The Scorpion King. 😂😂. Joke lol, it really was a great movie year.
These movies came out in 2003.
@@brentbare3698 oops I was wrong about the matrix thanks but the other ones still came out in 02’.
I remember being in the cinema when this came out, and the reaction to that ending, "to be concluded" everyone just went "Arghhhhhhh" all at once. Something I will never forget!
All the way through the movie when I first watched it, I was like, "How can the Machines *NOT* know where Zion is? It's huge" then you meet the Architect and you're like, "Yeah, figures..."
I highly recommend you guys watch the *Animatrix* it will answer a little bit more about what really happened before the one and and the first matrix movie it'll give you more insight as to how the world virtually ended.
Yes the animatrix 2nd renaissance.. loved it! Also Kid's story.
Fun fact, the young lady playing link's wife in Matrix Reloaded is soul singer Marvin Gaye's daughter, Nona Gaye. She'll have a more prominent role in Matrix 3.
Movie Fact: The late R&B singer Aaliyah (whose 20th year death anniversary was 8/25) was supposed to play Link's wife Zee. She had already started production when she died in the plane crash. She was replaced with Nona Gaye, daughter of the late R&B singer Marvin Gaye.
Did Aaliyah appear in the movie at all or they removed her scenes?
@@julienielsen4462 they just re-casted & reshot the scenes w/ Nona. There are a couple of pics w/ her & the actor who played Link that were taken on set. Also some behind the scenes footage on RUclips
You guys gotta watch the MTV movie awards parody of this - it’s so good. Andy Dick is dancing with the Zion people and says “there’s supposed to be a huge orgy at Morpheus’ place later… at least that’s why many of us have heard.”
Morpheus: “It is true, what many of you have heard!”
*cheering*
13:00 Trivia: Zee (played by Nona Gaye, as in Marvin's daughter) was originally played by the singer Aaliyah. But after she died in a tragic plane crash in 2001, her role was recast and her scenes reshot.
"Is it ethical to mix cookies?....
I'm living dangerous" 😂
"WHY WOULD YOU FIGHT SOMEONE WHO CAN STOP BULLETS" that's a sub right there gentlemen
To make time.
The sisters have always been ahead of their time. Sence 8, Jupiter Rising. Their stories are amazing
I saw this in theaters when it came out, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. this was a true rush.
You guys opening the mail and eating the baked goods makes me genuinely happy. I absolutely think the world needs more moments like that...plus you guys put on the friggin shirts for the reaction. Epic as hell. Please continue reacting, gentlemen. You guys rock. Such positive energy. Keep it up. You won’t regret it. Much love from Tennessee
I personally wouldn't. What if they had sent poisoned stuff? You get some truly sick people unfortunately out there. I wouldn't just accept foods from people I don't know, especially sent over the mail.
it was actually a lot more than non stop fighting, specially the speech with the architect, also morpheus is the only one that actually fights agents big claps for him
28:04 The only thing missing from that scene is Alanis Morissette "Ironic" blasting on the radio. Haha
IT'S LIKE RAY-EEE-AAAAAAAAIIIIN
4:27 "👀 should I open this?" Got me in tears 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
this dog staring at the camera is the reason that I love u guys
Neo on his Superman ish the action was really awesome & in theaters the Neo vs Smith fight felt like 15 minutes bruh but yeah this was a great movie & reaction Nice Pops shirts too.
Only these two chuckleheads would refuse to use a thumb drive, but immediately began eating food that showed up from a stranger! XD
The Château fighting scene is so cool and my fav from any of the Matrix movies, the choreography is simply stunning.
As The Architect said, a 100% perfect matrix is unobtainable because there will always be a small anomaly (as there is in so many computer programs). The Agents, Agent Smith, The Oracle are all system programs designed to maintain control and equilibrium in the Matrix. Some go rogue ;) ICYMI - The actress who played The Oracle in the first movie passed away so it's a different actress in this movie but they did a great job replacing her because hardly anyone notices she's a replacement.
There were no anomalies in the program though. The anomalies the Architect is referring to are the HUMANS. The programs are there for human control, not for equilibrium. The agents are only for security and order. The Architect designed the perfect green world, it was humans who in some percent didn't accept it. To deal with this percentage of humans the Matrix created the Oracle, a phycologist AI to study human behavior. It is highly possible the Oracle is the creator of werewolves, angels, and ultimately Zion. Where the Oracle failed then the Matrix created Neo, an AI grown as it were a human being.
Actually, Oracle had the same actress (Gloria Foster) in Reloaded as in the original Matrix. Foster died after Reloaded, so she was replaced by Mary Alice in Revolutions.
The Ghosts and Vampires are exiles from the old Matrix versions. Which means the Matrix was once like a horror based world like Monsters Inc.
Man y’all facial expressions in these movies are so funny great reaction🤣💯🔥
One of the first people that actually eat the food sent to them, such good guys.
Neo leveled up and unlocked the techno-kinesis ability.
"There are 2 doors. The door to your right leads to the source and the salvation of Zion. The door to your left leads back to the Matrix to her and to THE END OF YOUR SPECIES."
This was the craziest surrender or die quote I've ever heard Lol
As others have mentioned definitely check out The Animatrix as they fill in quite a bit of backstory on both the history of the matrix and also on some of the characters in this movie and the next. Shame you didn't see it first but still worth a watch. Back when this came out they tried one of if not the first multi platform storylines which consisted of the movies, the animatrix and the video game each giving you part of the overall story.
chris: "they love morpheous"
kurtis: "can you blame them? look at him!"
LOL
My main issue I had with this film that sometimes you could clearly see the CGI models they used instead of real people, plus the fight scenes didn't really have an outcome most of the time. They just fought without anyone getting defeated/killed. Dragged on a bit after a while.
Oh my god. I have watched countless people react to these movies and I’ve never seen any of them pick up on Agent Smith being a virus so fast. That’s usually such a frustrating thing bc if you don’t get that, the rest of the movies don’t make much sense. Y’all earned my sub with that.
Why would you fight a guy who can stop bullets???
- This moment has been brought to you by Curtis
Loved the audience/fan appreciation at the start dudes, was super cool to see
The 4 movies is called The Matrix Resurrection and it supposed to come out in Dec 2021 or 2022 either way it will be good. Need to complete the Trilogy with Revolution.
Interesting background info: the scene where Morpheus takes out the car with the ghosts, he actually hyperextended one of his elbows and had to go to the hospital for it
Blade & The Matrix were my favourite films for most of my life, but recently I've come to appreciate the second films of both so much more.
Although the originals are still exceptional, Blade 2 & Reloaded are basically bigger & better than what came before, expanding & deepening the worlds.
They're not just films, they're works of art.
The Plaza & Freeway fights are some of my favorite fights in any movie.
I hope you guys are going to also see Dune when it comes out in Oct. Gonna be EPIC!!!
100%
It's good to see the sequel movies getting love these days. Those movies were torn to shreds back in the day
I love how much your channel is growing and how passionate you and your brother are, I can tell you guys really love what you are doing, I hope to see more reactions in the future, I LOVE the matrix trilogy, the third movie is my most watched of the three lol
At the time of her death, Aaliyah was scheduled film the majority of her role for The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2003).
When I went to see this in theaters the guy sitting in the front row threw his popcorn at the "To Be Concluded" text and starting cussing up a storm
The sequels get a bad rap. I love all of them. Can't wait for 4!
I totally agree! I love them too! Can’t wait for 4!
All of them are great & yeah waiting for 4.
Never listen to people ,judge movies for yourself.the matrix trilogy is one of my favorite..
You can only have one “ awakening “ then it just becomes another action film , the nuance is meh
@@BrandonDejonwell that was a way to ruin it wasn’t it, Dk why they even released it
Awww! I really enjoyed watching you open the fan mail. You have really sweet followers!
FELLAS!! I absolutely love your reactions… like every single one. It’s just so natural and organic!
I love your reactions and how you discuss it after watching.
You can say wha though want about Keanu .. but the fact that he, and his co-stars, actually did as much of the fighting stunt work as they did is truly awesome!
"Sounds like he blows shit up" *concerned look* "should I open this?" Oh man, that made me cackle like a hyena.
Not only do I love your channel, but the reaction for the awesome shirts yall got gave me joy! That's amazing! Stay blessed and keep up the good work, gentlemen ✌🏾
My husband and I are your new subscriber! Great authentic movie reactions guys. This was Matrix reloaded of the original trilogy had the most incredible filmed action scenes and the ending - but I did not see the 3rd movie until years later and was not really impressed but it was good bc of the script. // would love to see ya'll reaction to some of my siblings and I all time favs from the early 2000s such as: 1) Excess Baggage [Beninco Del Toro and Alicia Silverstone] 2) Traffic [also Benicio Del Toro, Don Cheadle, Michael Douglas, Dennis Quaid, Topher Grace, and a young female star Erika Christensen] 3) Mr. Deeds [Adam Sandler and Wiona Ryder and hilarious actor John Turturro]
I went with my dad to see this in theaters and we had a blast it was freaking mind blowing.
Reaves said that he does more fight moves fighting the multiple Smiths in that park scene than the whole first Matrix movie
HA!!! love your reactions to the 2nd Matrix!! It's so fun to revisit what we all felt when we first saw it!
Love your guys reactions to this trilogy so far, the Neo vs Smith fight is one the best in cinema history. Also little movie fact: the asian fighter dressed in white that works for the Merovingian is the movie's fighting choreographer.
Oh man, too bad you didn't watch *_The Animatrix_* in-between the 1st and 2nd *_The Matrix_* movies...
That would've been so cool, and I'm sure you guys would have loved it. xD
Nobody does it's sad
@@citizensunitednegatingtech9783 sad actually, those animations add soo much to the saga's lore
So true
Those two on how the machines took over are amazing...
Or The Second Renaissance - Animatrix.
Hugo weaving is so amazing in this.
The way the Oracle describes choice and fate makes perfect sense to me and it's definitely the model I personally consider most accurate. Though I have an easier to understand explanation then I think she gives lol.
It is so funny to hear people who have no idea that The Matrix took over the world when the movie opened. The trilogy stayed extraordinary and honored. Seems you guys thought it was just another movie. This is an iconic much revered film by us old people!
I'm sure someone mentioned it, but the actress who played the oracle sadly passed away between this film and the next. She was recast for the third movie.
the matrix 2 is soooo crazy!! it sets up the action and crazy philosophical thought!!!🤯🤯
When Neo is in the matrix he is basically in a video game with all the cheat codes. thats what it is to be "The One"
Neo isn't seeing the future during that vision, he's seeing the code from the last five times Trinity was killed in previous versions of the Matrix
"F*ck robots! Not literally." Couldn't stop laughing!
You guys will go far on RUclips. I could see your channel getting really big. Great reaction as always
Love these mailbag And reaction videos combo you guys are awesome
I wasn't into either of the Matrix sequels, but I'll watch your reactions to movies I didn't like just because your reactions are THAT ENTERTAINING.
Freeway scene:
Located on Alameda Island, in California, USA, the freeway was exactly realistic. It was the first freeway built by a Hollywood studio. At a cost of $2.5m (£1.25m), the freeway was 1.25 mile (2 km) long and was fenced with a 19ft wall, made from timber and plywood, designed to look like concrete.
And Carrie Anne Moss learned to drive a bike for this very scene
Yes, she learned on a freaking Ducati 996
The Wachowski kept the main bike and it's usually in their production office... when Keanu Reeves don't take it for la little ride
"nice trident, ya loser"
°sad aquaman sounds in the distance°
I saw this in the theater, and yeah at time 19 year old me was like WHOA!
Oh man, the most funny part of this video is yous faces watching the Merovingio speaking, I guess everyone of us made the same face lol.
I loved your reactions! This is my favorite matrix film and my favorite scene is the whole highway scene. When you were excited to see more Morpheus action right before the highway scene I just had to grin lmao
Fun fact, the actor playing the Merovingian is a french actor notabilly known for having an almost perfect english
He had a coach on set to "de-learn" and speak with a more marked french accent
But for the swearing lines, he had only "carte blanche" writed on the script
As he said in an interview "we you drive on motrocycle in Paris for 15 years, it comes naturally"
Just a note. The Black lady that married to the guy with dreads. Is Marvin Gaye daughter.
One more thing out of many you will find interesting is that Morpheus said in the first Matrix that the year was around 2199 but cant say for certain, and in Reloaded Morpheus says to Zion in that speech that they have been at war with machines for a century. Now the Architect revealed that there were 5 previous "Ones" before Neo and 5 previous Zion's, that means that going by what Morpheus said that the current Zion has been around for a Century, the previous 5 Zions must have also had similar life spans. Putting all that together the current year for them must be closer to around 2699.
I usually wait to hit the like button until after the vid but I had to smash that like button based on the excitement you guys had from opening all your gifts..Lol
"...to be concluded..."
I was the only person in the theatre to bellow out "Nooooo!!!!!"
I think you two are the first reactors who I've watched that actually understood who that guy asleep on the table next to neo is.
"Which one of us can fly?"
I just love it. 😂
Can you imagine waiting 4 YEARS between the first and the second movies?? Jesus H. Christ it was the longest 4 years of my life. But that freeway scene? Definitely worth the wait.
You gotta round out the trilogy, the 4th movie is coming out soon.
I like to think those ghost brothers fell into the earth because they had to do the ghost thing to survive that fall, but they probably either stayed that way forever in the center of the earth or decided to burn and die after so long.
I remember leaving school early to go watch this on opening day. It was great at the time I was in 10th grade. I remember the courtyard fight scene the CGI was a little funky, but that’s the early 2000s CGI. You get similar effects in Blade 2 which came out a year earlier, they still didn’t have down the human body fighting DragonBall Z style down yet. But becomes of the ear films we do have so much. I also remember Jack Black and Justin Timberlake doing a parody of this on the MTV awards back when they were good. Good days back then..good days..now I sound like the old guy lol. Great reaction fellas. You can watch the 3rd film, it came out like 6 months from each other or something, so you guys can wait 6 days and your good 😄👍🏼
