You don't have to take a poll because "Vol 2" is actually the second part of the same movie. We didn't' have to wait years, Pt 1 came out at Christmas, Pt 2 came out in the summer. It was shot as one production and was supposed to be released as one movie but he couldn't cut it down short enough so they decided to double dip it.
The two sequels to the matrix were filmed the same way
This it became two movies. If you release two movies separately, it’s two movies. Facts doesn’t change.
@@Gnossiene369 it was written and shot to be one movie. The Weinsteins pushed for it to be made into two and since it was so long, they decided to go that route.
Joe Rogan had Tarantino on his podcast last week, they discuss the legend behind the cut
i think it came out around september not christmas
It doesn't have a sequel, its one movie split in half.
ON GOD! thank ya! someone else has some sense 'round here!

I had to sub after that.
Kill Bill vols 1 and 2 was originally conceived as one whole movie, but it was split into two because it would have been over four hours in length. Volume 2 was released about 6 or 7 months after Vol 1. Technically you've only reacted to half of the movie, so there's your justification for going ahead with Vol 2 ;-)
I love rhat he commemorates all the actors at the end of part 2. Makes sensw
Please take note of O-ren's katana sword and how it does not have a guard. This is reserved for warriors who never need to defend. This type this skill level takes years to master and she's mastered it.
Isn't that type of katana called the shirasaya katana? Just curious.
Great catch and something I didn't know
I love those details. O'Ren was yearning to prove that she was worth to be a "samurai" at the point that she became stubborn because of her heritage. She could have taken Beatrix when she got her on the back but decided to kill her "like a samurai".
No the Shirasaya katana did not have a tsuba(guard) for the reason you said ! It had nothing to do with being a more accomplished warrior. The shirasaya was a plain katana to which shirasaya translates as "white sheath" or "white scabbard" traditionally made from nurizaya wood and used when a blade was not expected to see use for some time and needed to be stored. The katana was designed to tightly seal keeping oxygen out while providing a protective skin around the katana blade(sword) in other words the tsuka(hilt/ handle) and the saya(scabbard) was really just used for protecting the blade(sword) But you would add on a tsuba(guard), and swap the wood tsuka(hilt/handle) for a new tsuka(hilt/handle) probably with a rayskin and silk wrap for grip and swap the protective saya(scabbard) for a new saya(scabbard) for taking into battle ect. Although they would often be put on display as for example as a family heirloom in their shirasaya form with the wooden tsuka and saya. O Ren ishii's katana had a black tsuka(hilt/handle) and saya(scabbard) which would have been a painted shirasaya but the purpose of the shirasaya was the same to protect the blade although it may have been used on the rare occasion in this form though it wasn't meant to be used in battle in this form it was meant as a blade(sword) protector to either store or display the katana.
@@alchemist.73.74 That's interesting, but I find it a little difficult to believe that medieval Japanese smiths either understood the role of oxygen in metal decomp (at least, on a chemical level) or had the capability to make a gas-tight seal out of wood and natural fibers. Could you point to more evidence on the matter? Thanks!
I saw this in the theater a few days after it was first released. I had no idea what I was in for. My buddy and I smoked a big ass, super chronic doobie in the parking lot. We were high af. He prefered sitting close, so we were about 3 rows away from the screen. It was the most intense cinema experience of my life!!!
I hope you actually look like your profile pic
Doobies make the movie going experience much more enjoyable.
I went to see Jurassic Park 3 at a drive_ in , in Canada tripping on acid! It's was scary awesome!😅
if you noticed Beatrix can't look at Oren once he's killed her, she slightly looks back but stops & cries. they were best friends. Beatrix is the one who narrates Oren's origin story due to the fact that she & Oren were close & knew all those intimate details about her past. Oren tells Beatrix she won't last 5 minutes & the fights ends at 4 minutes 59 seconds
How do you know they were friends and that Bill didn't tell her? 🤔
@@aya9af because Beatrix didn't have origin stories for the rest of the squad. no background on bud, vernita, or Elle. had bill been the one to share with Beatrix Oren's origin story I'm sure he would have shared the others. if you noticed Beatrix had respect for Oren & she actually cries after she kills her. couldn't even turn around to look at her lifeless body. she peaks a bit & then stops before she can get a clean look. if you want go back to the end of their fight & you can confirm what I said.
Even if it isn't verified by Tarantino, it's my head canon that they were best friends as well. She's the first one the Bride takes out. They share a inside joke with each other mid battle (the Trix rabbit referrence). The look on Oren's face when she sees the Bride step from behind Sophie. But mainly it's the fact that the Bride takes her out first. It served multiple purposes. She was the most difficult (which would sting Elle to know), and killing the person she was closest to first without a hint of mercy sends a message to all involved that she is not trifling around. They are on her kill bill.
I NEVER notixed. Rhat is an AMAZING detail
"How'd she get a bullet in the head and live?" Lol it's possible but rare. Fun story, my older sister was shot in the side of the head during a home robbery. She's still here and kicking. The police were quite shocked.
Well, it's also clear through the movie that killing the Bride is absurdly difficult.
Glad your sister recovered.
@@Number0neSon thanks mate so am I:)
Wow, glad to know she's good
🙏
Your mortified expression when Buck tossed the vaseline to the other guy was priceless.
RZA from the Wu Tang Clan produced the soundtrack because of the Mutual love both him and Tarantino have for old-school kung fu movies.
Tarantino has talked about a Kill Bill 3 where the grown-up daughter of Vernita Green goes after The Bride to avenge her mother, but he's been talking about it for so long that sadly I really doubt he'll ever do it.
The last I heard, it will be done as an anime. Just a rumor, but that’s what I’ve been hearing.
Tarantino has said that if a Kill Bill 3 were to happen, he'd cast Maya Hawke (Uma's real daughter) to play her daughter in the movie. Id love to see it.
Tarantino always pontificates about different sequels and ideas, but it's just that, talk. Remember the talk about 'The Vega Brothers' where you would get Travolta and Madsen reprising their roles?
In the end, I'm good with him not doing it and creating something new. What I'm dying for QT to do is a straight 70s style horror movie.
I hope it never happens. I don't want to see The Bride get revenged upon. That would suck, honestly. Secondly, Kill Bill is a nearly perfect film(s). Don't mess with perfection by effing with the story. Let it go down in history as an amazing experience without an epitaph.
@@beyonderbill3409 Isn't that kind of the point, though? That "revenge" movies never really end, but simply create their own iterations of the cycle of violence?
Out of all the blood and gore in this movie the only part that makes me flinch is when she cuts his heel idk why😂
It's not just his heel -- she's literally ham-stringing him. There's an even more gut-churning example in the first "Hostel" film.
thats his achilles. and that and the eye pluck get me every time.
Bill: "One more thing...is she aware that her daughter is still alive?"

As someone who generally prefers instrumental film scores to "Various Artists" soundtracks, Tarantino has a special gift for putting together a VA Soundtrack that feels like it was all written specifically for his film, and these two movies are the cream of the crop.
check out for RZA the producer of this OST
@@hellrzor6162 I am aware that RZA and Robert Rodriguez wrote small pieces of original score for this and the next one, but those pieces are rare compared to the rest of the music in these movies so what I said still stands.
his movies have two basic styles, his "real world" universe and his fantasy universe. The fantasy one (which this is one of) are the movies that people in his real world universe watch when they go to the theaters

Yeah...Kill Bill Vol 2 is not really a sequel, not in the classic sense. It is a continuation of one story, and this was always going to be a 2 movie series to tell the whole story. You do not even find out Uma Thurman's character's name until the second film. Please do not delay in watching the second part like you would a regular sequel, you will be lowering the experience for yourself a little bit...best to watch them as close to back to back as practical. 🖖💯✌
Her last name is mentioned several times in volume 1. We just didn't realize it. :-)
@@andrewcharles459 Exactly 💯😁
It was actually conceived as a single movie and filmed as a single movie. But then QT didn't want to cut anything from the final cut so instead of realeasing it as a 3.5 to 4 hour movie they decided to split it into 2 separate movies. And Volume 2 was releasing only 6 months after the first volume.
My mom introduced me to Tarantino back when Reservoir Dogs first dropped in 92. She absolutely adored all his movies. Especially Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction. I wish she could've lived long enough to see his latest films. I've told that to QT, and he was genuinely touched and expressed his warmest regards. I also told Uma Thurman, and she too was very deeply cool and receptive. Very charming and kind people. If you're a Tarantino fan, please know that he's a very cool person. Your fandom isn't misplaced. He has a good heart.
You guys have to watch the best Quentin Tarantino movie ever made called "From Dusk Till Dawn" in 1996 with George Clooney, Juliette Lewis, Harvey Keitel, and Salma Hayek. Please let this be in your top poll for the next movie!!!! Love your channel guys!
Quentin wrote it. Robert Rodriguez directed it.
Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, ah just do all of them.
Dudes....Seeing you guys so Psyched about Kill Bill made me Smile, you Must go to Vol 2!!!
To this day this is the most perfect movie ever made. There are other movies I think are better including vol 2 which is slightly better to me however I see no mistakes in this movie & how he was able to do a action move, a animated movie, a movie with depth, music and the epic ending. There's nothing else I see he could have done.
Every one of the assassins represents a sub genre of film that Tarantino loves
including Vol. 2??
it's the same movie, dork?!
@@deadassdgaf100 that was the original plan but being 4 hours long they separated into 2 movies. I see it as 2 movies since I saw them at the theater and they came out 6 months apart. Get a life and don't worry about how I think of these 2 separate movies. You see it as 1 then that's your business but unlike you I don't care how you see it. Just how I see it
That twin head turn at the end 😂🤣😂🤣
What I like about the katana on the airplane shot is that it looks like they have freaking holders specifically for katanas! So it's like if Quentin Tarantino sort of made this whole movie universe where assassins are common as hell 🤔
The Guy who looked like Charlie Brown had me dying of laughter it's true because they were roasting him. 😅😂🤣
Costume Designer: So what style do you want this kimono?
Tarantino: …..how about bright yellow aka Charlie Brown, complete with jagged black stripe.
Costume Designer: Done.
I saw this in the theater when it came out and it was one of those theater experiences you remember for the rest of your life when the ending came and the last line the packed audience had a very loud reaction.
You kind of have to watch the "sequel" because it's more like a second half of this movie rather than a sequel.
P.S. I used to have a bowl of cereal when I got home from school as a kid. Haha
You do know once you react to VOL 1 you have choice but to react to VOL 2 😂 we’ll be waiting
Imagine being Lucy Liu and having one of the most badass villain entrances on film.
This is my favorite tarantino film. He did more for feminism with this film than any feminist today. Such a quality film where the main characters are all pretty much all strong females, with badass fighting skills that is actually believable, plus a good story and good character development.
You'll notice that almost all the male character are real pieces of crap, or at least weaker than the females, but you never feel like the film is trying to push the "all females good, all men bad" agenda like a lot of feminist films try to do today. Case in point: the newer charlie's angels.
I think Jackie Brown does the feminist thing better than Kill Bill. She beats the villains not by outfighting them but by outsmarting them. She makes them think that they’ll succeed. They’re playing chess while she’s playing 3D chess.
Also, don´t forget Death Proof.
How? I was told that there were no strong female leads in movies until a few years ago! Impossible!! lolol
@@manuelper Probably told by someone that pretended that didn´t know about Tarantino movies or movies like Alien, Terminator...
Finally someone says it out loud. Also depends on the content. Characters like the Bride, Xena, Selene from underworld, Alice from resident evil, etc. We can get behind.
Chris: "I feel the fight scenes are going to get real crazy".
Alfred Pennyworth: "Oh, you have no idea, lol..."
Tarantino recently said KILL BILL is one his proudest films. It’s Freakin’ Amazing.
Best Tarantino:
Inglourious Basterds
Jackie Brown
True Romance
He didn't direct true romance actually.. That was the great Tony Scott, but tarantino did the script obviously

Bringing up Bruce Lee, Quentin Tarantino had brought in two Martial arts Kings from the 70s to this movie. The first is Japanese star Sonny Chiba who plays the sword maker. The first film that brought him to America and Internationally was Street Fighter from 1974. The other was Gordon Liu that became famous in the state by the introduction of TVs kungfu cinema on Saturday afternoon in the 80s. He played two parts in Kill Bill, one of Pai Mei and the other was O-Ren Ishii top guy that The Bride fought with that let out that BIG YELL, and all his guys came running out. His most famous movie is THe 36 Chambers of Shaolin. Those are Two Kungfu Classics you guys have to put on your list and check out.
Man, I was 8, going on 9 when this movie came out. Still can't believe my mom let me watch it. Thinking about how Blockbuster let 12-year-old me rent these movies without my mom there makes me laugh XD
And I've always loved how a majority of the fight scenes didn't have a score. There was no music, just clanging metal and fight sounds.
And I loved your synchronized reactions to the twist ending XD Brings me back to the days where you had to wait for the next episode of a great show to resolve the cliffhanger.
Terantino has a way of making cliché themes and storylines feel exciting and far from cliché. It's over-the-top and ridiculous, but it grabs your attention and holds onto it.
The song at the beginning of the fight with O'ren is "Santa Esmeralda's don't let me be misunderstood"
Vol.2 has to be you guys's next reaction since you already started Vol.1
I love the irony of the fight scene taking place over the Zen Garden. 😎
Gordon Lui, 70’s and 80’s Kung fu star played the bald-headed guy in the Crazy 88’s. He also played her white haired master Pei Mei. He’s an absolute legend in Kung Fu cinema and is also known as the Master of Disaster from one of his old flicks! Quentin went all out getting Gordon in this film!!

In the Japanese version of the big fight at the inn, the battle is a few minutes longer and all in color. They had to b/w it in the US to avoid an NC-17 rating. The extra scenes explain a few more things that seem disconnected in the fight. Like the kid not having a mask. In one part, she removes the mask, sees he's a kid, and just knocks him away, which is why she gives him that exasperated look at the end. He didn't learn his lesson before.

It's really telling that almost every song Tarantino uses in his movies get used and re-used in other movies, television shows, commercials, etc. I watched Kill Bill with a friend recently (it was their first time) and she remarked "Oh, I remember this song from those old insurance commercials" after the 5,6,7,8s were playing in the club.
The song they were playing "Please don't let be Misunderstood" by Santa Esmeralda I love that song after seeing the movie in the theaters
Wait till you watch Vol 2!!! Also Quentin Tarantino stated that the scene where her daughter walked in where she killed her mother and wants revenge would be the basis for Vol. 3 if he ever decides to make another one.
Y'all gotta react to Baby Boy please.
Guys the woman who played gogo actually stared in a movie before kill bill called battle Royal. Crazy but awesome to watch if you don't mind reading subtitles.
This movie was an idea between Uma Thurman and Quentin Tarantino while they were shooting Pulp Fiction. Quentin Tarantino has always stayed that he always wanted to do martial arts films and when the opportunity came me just jumped right in it so Kill Bill is a homage to both Chinese kung fu movies, westerns, and Japanese films. In fact if you go back to Pulp Fiction, in the scene where Uma Thurman explains to John Travolta About the TV pilot she was supposed to be in "Fox Force 5".
Please react to player's club
