    Budd hated Beatrix because she broke his brother's heart. Elle hated Beatrix because of jealousy and they were already in conflict before the massacre (Beatrix bested her at pretty much everything, including being Bill's most favorite). O-Ren and Vernita never hated Beatrix, they basically did what Bill told them to do.

      I always wondered how far out Budd lived in the desert in that RV. I doubt anyone would come looking for him soon - his brother is gone and his former coworkers probably wouldn't worry about him. Id like to think that even if the snake didn't get Elle, she would probably eventually die wandering in the desert.

    Notice how the fight between Beatrix and Ella is completely different compared to her fight with O-Ren while yes Beatrix needed to get her revenge for he involvement in the massacre the fight also showed gracefulness and respect but as for Ella it shows there fight was straight up ugly and a personal brawl between Beatrix and Ella

    • @bluewolf6323
      @bluewolf6323 3 года назад +49

      Ye, that's what I've noticed about the O'Ren vs Beatrix fight. It started off sort of fast and loud with the nice music in the beginning but when Bea gets hurt and they stand against each other, they become silent and they even apologize to each other. That fight felt sad because it felt like two friends who had an argument and they had to fight, no matter what.
      Ella is very different because I feel like her fight with Bea was like a prize fight. She has stated time and time again that she respects Bea and even killed Budd because he got to her first. Ella has "Wants to be the best, so I have to kill/fight the best" vibe to her so she came at Bea with everything she could.
      Sorry for the ramblings, but after watching the movie so many times, I notice a lot more things and I'm happy that I'm not the only one who notices

      Each fighter reflect each enemy character. Elle was more cruel and dirty, so her fight was more raw and vicious. Plus also Elle probably was the only one who could be a match for Beatrix, if she didnt had that horrible temper.
      O-Ren was more elegant and gracious. She does respect her enemies. That´s why her fight was more clean and honorable.
      In the end, we kinda feel sorry for O-Ren death. she was dragged into this violent world. Elle is the opposite, because we know she is bad and she wanted to kill Beatrix even when she was in coma!

    If I remember correctly, Pai Mei took out Elle's eye and she eventually poisoned his food. Then, I think he swore that he'll take her other eye or something (I haven't seen Kill Bill in years). If you think of it, Pai Mei said that he owns Beatrix's arm or that it is his or whatever, like what Beatrix said to Sophie in the bar in Japan. Anyway, since Beatrix took out Elle's other eye with the arm that he said that he owns...he pretty much did get his revenge on Elle. *So, yeah, how about checking out either The Last Dragon or Black Dynamite.* Both are fun martial arts/action/comedic flicks, so you can't go wrong with either choice!

    As far as the beef between B and Elle, in the original script for the one film cut, it's explained a little more how Elle was Bill's lover and then he chose Beatrix over her but once she "died" Bill went back to her. I believe Elle was also jealous of her relationship with Pei Mei. In that version, she kills Elle with an almost microscopic cut to the jugular that sprays blood mist into the air and they kinda make amends before Elle bleeds out. Another cool thing about that version was that Go Go had a twin sister who attacked and nearly killed Beatrix when she came back from Japan. I think it would've taken place between the time she killed Vernita and arrived in Texas. That original script is cool af and I recommend any fans of this read it if they can find it online.

    A 3rd movie would have been great if it were filmed within 5 years after the first 2 movies. Vernita Green's daughter and possibly a fully blind Elle who may still be alive who would train her for her revenge against Bea.

    • @donkfail1
      @donkfail1 3 года назад +5

      There are more open ends.
      I bet Sofie Fatale would join the team under Elle. Elle is crazy hotheaded, but also so set on revenge that she could have spent all the time training herself to Zatoichi level blind swordfighting by now. Speaking of; was it established that Bea took Bud's sword? Otherwise it would be fitting if Elle used that or gave it to Vernita's daughter.
      It's not likely that ALL of Crazy 88 was there for the fight, some would have been out of town, sick, in jail or other. Those, plus the ones escaping without fatal injuries would want to get back at Bea. The Yakuza wouldn't have taken the killing of O-Ren Ishii as merely a stand alone revenge against her personally, but an attack on their organisation, something they can't leave unpunished if they want to keep their authority.
      There are still many enemies left.
      They use to say "if you go out for revenge, you better dig two graves." But in reality, revenge just keeps on going and it always escalates. You better just dig a huge mass grave before setting out on any revenge, even if you just want to kill one person.
      Then of course it is the CRAZY theory that Bill is actually two twin brothers. One that loves Bea and the other the one who tried to kill her for hurting his brother. The first one kept her alive and took care of their daughter, but also justified his brothers actions and keeping him a secret to the end. Too bad Carradine isn't here to play him...

Imagine Nikkia (Vernita's daughter) grows up to seek revenge on Beatrix and finds a blind Elle who mentors her. But, now she must go through BB as well who has been taught by her mother. Of course, more storyline can fit in between, but wouldn't this be awesome?! This series was very artistic and brilliant as usual from Tarantino. Awesome stuff.

There are memorable legendary characters like Hanzo and pai mei. Bill's monologue about Superman was incredible as you mentioned. You could sympathize with his broken heart leading him to do what he did even if it was extreme. These are extreme characters. Of course they are going to do extreme things. Even little things like Hanzo making her a sword and telling her that if in your travels you come across God this will cut him. So good. You even get a bit of great anime. Reference movie tip:
    The movie Shogun Assassin (1980) that Bea watched in bed with her daughter is a dubbed mashup of two Japanese 70s movies well worth a watch.
    They are the first in a series of movies about Ogami Itto, a high ranking samurai framed for treason, that decides to flee with his young son to seek revenge rather than being executed for something he is innocent of. The first two are called Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance
    (Kozure Ôkami: Ko wo kashi ude kashi tsukamatsuru) and Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart at the River Styx (Kozure Ôkami: Sanzu no kawa no ubaguruma).
    Shogun Assassin is these two movies edited together with most of the dialogue cut out for an American release, but with added narration by "the cub", Lone Wolf's young son. The mashup edit was a common treatment for martial art movies back in the day, that usually screwed up the movies. In this case though, I think they did a fantastic job. Even so, I recommend you to watch the first original ones first and then Shogun Assassin.
    There was four more in this 70's series with the same main actor. All worth seeing. They were all released 1972-1974 and keeps the same storyline to the end, not just producing sequels as long as it lasts. (And the body count kept rising. So if they had continued, half the male population of Japan would have been dead after another movie.)
    Not sure this is reaction material, just a tip on some great movies to watch.

    Like the Pulp Fiction briefcase, no explanation is given for how Pai Mei exists in the modern day. (Is it a descendant of Pai Mei? Is it the real Pai Mei still alive some how? Is it just some weirdo who watched too many kung fu movies and built his identity around this character?)
