Alright, before anyone says it, lemme explain. This movie is the strictest in terms of copyright I’ve ever dealt with, more so than my hangover video. A lot of clips that were only 9 seconds got the whole video completely blocked. And anything over 10 seconds the whole video gets copyrighted as well. There were a lot of parts I wanted to show, but had to edit down for youtube to allow me to post this sadly. So I had to edit, render the video, upload it to youtube, wait for it to get copyrighted. Then re edit it, re render it, re upload it, wait for it to get copyrighted, then re edit it and so on. I HAD TO DO THIS 62 GOD DAMN TIMES! I have literally been editing, uploading and re editing this video for the past 10 days straight lmao. So yall best appreciate what I did show, cause it’s the most I am allowed and a tried my best alright lmao. But with that being said, if ya think I didn't show enough, I started a patreon! and i'm gonna be putting the full movie reaction up on there! So if thats ya thing, link in the description. Hope you guys enjoyed this one! I will watch the third one soon and Kill bill vol.2 on the way as well! Take care guys!

Guy on the table at the end was Bane. Who was also one of the people who were running from Smith when the line "I never seen an agent like that before" or something like that was said. Bane is the guy who Smith turned into himself in the Matrix in that scene, the "Oh God" "Smith will suffice" interaction. But then, he picked up the phone, or took the exit out of the Matrix. So now, Smith is in the body of Bane in our world. He's also the one that was cutting his hand and almost killed Neo in Zion. Locke didn't send him. He's Smith. He's also the reason that multiple ships were destroyed because he blew an emp early and downed the ships so the sentinels came and killed everyone. He was the only survivor, which is what they're showing at the end. With Trinity and Neo at the end, him saving her, I think its widely accepted he was pumping her heart to bring her back but I do think there would've HAD to be something more to it, like you said, because she was shot in a pretty vital place. The Persephone and Hades thing. Why have I never got that? I'm over here mind blown. But good job picking up all the symbolism. Great reaction!

@@QLH7156 Don't worry; I don't think any comment on an already watched film is spoiling an opportunity to "enjoy and pick it apart." If Alex did not share it in the afterthoughts, then it is assumed he still doesn't know. I also think most people who look at Bain opposite Neo on the table say, "who's that?" It's like the scene of Smith entering Bain in the Matrix was not memorable or the consequence not apparent.
It was pretty evident to me that Neo pumped Trinity's heart. But, what about the bleeding? Doesn't someone have to plug up the holes? I thought the same thing about Neo in the first movie too. But, heck, it's the Matrix. Maybe Neo willed them shut.

    "We are getting aggravated"
I love this movie just as the first one. Some people only likes the first one but this one is just as deep and awesome in my book.
Bane was taken over by Smith in the Matrix before he was awoken. Then Smith picked up the phone and transferred himself into Banes' body in the real world. So Bane = Smith. (It was Bane (Smith) that was the last survivor in the final scene)
The Twins are "ghosts". Remember the oracle telling Neo that when programs were doing things they were not supposed to be doing the system would assimilate their actions in categories as Werewolves, ghosts, aliens etc.
These programs would go Rogue and hide out with the Merovingian instead of being deleted from the Matrix. Like the two programs guarding the key maker were Vampires (Could only be killed by silver bullets)
Actually, many of your theories and initial thoughts are pretty spot on for a first viewer, so good job! I'm looking forward to the finale.

Honestly, the second is more of a mindfuck then the first one once you understand what everyone is talking about. The only problem with the second movie is some parts were unnecessary. The dance scene, the fight between neo and smith. Other then that this movie was just as good as the first one.

  • @axlm.808
    @axlm.808 3 года назад +25

The "lone surviror" at the end is Bane, the guy who was infected by Smith. And, yes, it seems that Neo has some of the powers he has into the Matrix available in the real world
The Merovingian is played by Lambert Wilson, a french actor with a pretty decent english level. He learnt to "sound french" when speaking english for the role
Also, the french swear words were total ad-lib. He had "carte blanche" on the script for those lines. As he said during an interview "when you drived on motorcycle for 20 years in Paris, it comes naturally"
Speaking of motorcycle, the highway chase was filmed on a few miles section made for the movie
Carrie Ann Moss learned to ride a bike for this scene. So, yes, she learned on a freaking Ducati 999 (which is not black, but very dark green).
The bike is curently in the office of Wachowski production headquarter (when Keanu Reeves doesn't take it for a ride)
The One is created on purpose by the Architect (the AI behind the creation of the Matrix) to reset the Matrix when there is too much runaways while correcting the flaws which made them rebelious, making each version of the Matrix "better" than the previous

@@farhadmalikli This was my suspicion as well when watching the movie for the first time back in the day and I was so disappointed when they didn't explore that at all. I really thought that in the Revolutions trailer, when Neo wakes up, he would be waking up to the boundary of the actual real world, but they never went there and the third movie was all over the place.
It's just hinted - through Smith's actions and what Oracle tells him - that Neo is just a program inhabiting this human body.

The Matrix sequels are not satisfying like the first one... because they are challenging films.
They are not looking to give you conventional storytelling, if anything these films dared to challenge their audience and they paid the price for decades with a bad rep.
Watch them again, see how they play against convention: Reloaded completely destroys the idea of "The One" as a system of control. Revolutions is not about blowing the Death Star or defeating Sauron... it's about saving your enemy, making peace with your enemy, and sacrificing yourself. It's the kind of stuff that popcorn-minded viewers hate, but for those seeking more... this is some of the most ambitious big-budget film-making ever.

I just recently found out that the two latter movies are not as popular and it is surprising to me. Of course they won't be AS huge as the first one but that people actually dislike them? There were theories out there saying the runner from World Record in the Animatrix was one of the predecessors of Neo as the One in one of the previous versions of the Matrix. Which is why the appearances of the agents are different and it also explains his ability to defy the laws of physics(the speed he’s running is considered to be impossible for human beings to achieve in real life) even when he was never unplugged from the Matrix like the free humans, and was able to stand up for a moment and started floating even when he’s supposed to be crippled.

For what they wanted to do, it was hard not to, but this film still had some cool practical effects. Fair warning: most of the cool effects in the final movie don't involve Neo.

Any issues with the CGI you have from within the Matrix, especially during the Burly Brawl, are obviously explained by the Matrix being unable to keep up with this event; this has never happened before, so it's having to drop LoD to keep the simulation stable.
Also, the dominos/bowling pin sounds when he throws a Smith into a bunch of Smiths was because, again, this had never happened before, so the Matrix picked the sound it thought was the closest match.
The Twins are ghosts from the horror Matrixes (that the Oracle described before the burly brawl). Also, Persephone shot a werewolf with a silver bullet before the Chateau fight ("notoriously difficult to kill").
Bane was the guy at the end... the one that Smith took over and went through the phone line (basically overwriting the brain of real-world Bane) and later went to kill Neo in Zion before the kid showed up with the spoon.

My strongest connection with this film was the game that accompanied this film. This is connected with what the Animatrix was, which was a collection of works that were all meant to give you more context.
The game, Enter the Matrix, I played on the original Xbox. Cheats and the 1v1 fight mode were unlocked through a hacking minigame option built into to the menu. The game itself followed the stories of Niobe and Ghost and what they got up to during the events of this film.
The game was intense and the extra details you get from it are really cool.

Most people concentrate on Neo and "choice" and the destiny of humand kind and all this stuff. I loved Matrix Reloded SOOOOOOO much cause I directly after my first watch thought about the MACHINES. You asked yourself about the ghost twins within the action scene "what are these"? They are programs. The Merowinger is a program. The oracle is a program! The architect is a program.
So how did the machines evolve from what we see in the animatrix to this? They created some sort of a "population" of indivual programs! And all programs seem to be created for a special purpose by the "central AI" (or further programs that only create programs? ;) ). But some programs seem to be able to develop an own individual will. So they sometimes "chose" to leave the purpose they are created for or chose not to get deleted when they are supposed to be by the AI. The oracle tells it directly to Neo. And shortly after this is what Agent Smith also did. He directly said it in the dialogue with Neo.
"You destroyed me Mr Anderson. Afterward... I knew the rules... I understood what I was supposed to do... but I didnt. I couldnt. I was compelled to stay. Compelled to disobey."
He as a program was somehow "destroyed" so his code was manipulated. A program is supposed to be deleted then... or mabye be repaired. But the modified program Smith didnt (modified by the "destruction" of Neo). Like all the programs that work for the Merowinger (they also did not obey to the main AI).
You will get some deeper information about what programs can do in the first part of Matrix 3.
THIS part... that the machines built some sort of own society with some "criminals" and some sort of dictatorship under the rule of a central AI that some programs dislike... I find it very interesting. Programs can be... persons! This is what robotic as a theme in SciFi is all about for decades. We human like to ask the question: What makes us human? The more interesting question for me is: What makes ANY intelligent indivudual to be a PERSON? And most people dont think a second about it even if they see a movie that has this theme in it.
And if you admit programs can have individual personality then the direct question that is also risen here very intensly: What can the future of a machine society be like?

So here's something interesting to look at. Everything in the Matrix is slightly green including Neo, indicating that he is still linked to the system. Everything in the real world is slightly blue. The only thing that doesen't follow this theme is Smith, he had the green tint when he was an agent, now that he is a virus he is pure black, no green at all. He is "free" no longer part of the system, the only thing that isn't part of the system of control.

😉 Great analyse, one more time ! But you missed some elements :
1- Bane (the guy at end) was the first infected by Smith in the Matrix : (in 11:00) That's why he stays infected in Reality.
2 - The architect didn't say he destroyed Zion 5 times, but that he destroyed the Matrix 5 times. And the precedent Matrix wasn't the Matrix from the first movie (which still exists) but a Matrix no one knows about.
3 - I'm surprised you don't consider why Neo has powers in the Reality : Maybe because the Reality is a Matrix too ? 👀 (That's what I thought the first time I watched "Matrix reloaded")
To have the answers, you have to watch "MATRIX - REVOLUTION" ! 😎

Zion gets destroyed. Neo’s job is to pick a handful of people to rebuild Zion for version 7 of the matrix. Zion has been destroyed 5 times. The architect says it explicitly.
This is why the movie can’t be more subtle, people wrongly state what is said clearly and directly.
Yes, reality is also the matrix, was what I thought where the story was going when I first saw it.

    • @Daniel24724
      @Daniel24724 3 года назад

@@chrissmith6097 Yes, the architect says it explicitly. But it's not the same meaning of Zion.
Why the matrix should need Zion ? The matrix is made for the humanity under control in the sleep-pods. At opposite, Zion is the city of free humans against the machines.
So for the machines, the perfect world is a matrix without Zion.
In fact, the architect most wants that Neo to help to build a new matrix under the threat to destroy Zion and the actuel matrix (killing so all connected humans). Maybe he calls it the "new Zion", but it has nothing to do with "Zion as the rebellion center".

Great analysis, I agree with the flaws but still love this movie. The sequels go full on live action anime and I think that put some people off but I've come to appreciate overly talkative philosophical dialogue and Dragon Ball Z type fight scenes, especially in part 3 where they are flying around like Cloud and Sephiroth lol. I think the sequels are fun and I love the characters, I'm glad we got more. Plus the Animatrix is dope, too.

There's a pretty neat theory that says that the "real" world is not really real.. it's just another layer of the Matrix. and that's why Neo was capable to stop the sentinels at that moment. also: in Zion when Neo receives the spoon from the boy of the first movie as a gift. it's a message trying to warn Neo that the same rules apply there too, that he's not free yet.
When the architect refers to the first matrix he's not talking about the first movie. but the first version of the matrix. which happened a long time ago. that Matrix was perfect in every way like heaven so to speak. but it didn't worked because of the flawled human nature. so most of the people in it didn't accepted/assimilated the program and that version failed. this can also be interpreted as a metaphor to Adam and Eve being expelled from heaven by God.

How could it be that Neo feels the machines, and how is it there are multiple matrices?
How do you know reality is reality? It is just like the matrix, you struggle for a goal. For me it meant there are matrices within matrices with ourcomes already seen and iterations of the programme.
The first film's message was much better communicated to be frank.

(you probably know this by now but will comment anyway since ive enjoyed your reactions since rhe first film) 6th version meaning what we are seeing (the whole trilogy) is already the 6th time zion was created. Remember what the architect said that the first door will lead to resetting zion and Neo will have to pick 16 females and 7 males. The total mind f"ck here is that humans were already extinct centuries ago and AI has just been building and rebuilding zion and has been growing humans all along. In a way, morpheus is right that there is a prophecy that The One will save the world, he just had that 50% true. That "prophecy" was just the Architect's elaborate plan to build and destroy zion.

I recall sitting in the theater to watch Reloaded and the minute the boxer Roy Jones jr in shades started talking I wanted to walk out. All these actors in shades like they were all too cool for school to be in a Matrix movie instead of actual acting. Not one ounce of "i am a human survivor living in Zion deep in the earth" realism. Yuck! Tarantino was right, The Matrix was in the top 2 films from the last 30 years, but the two sequels dropped it down the order. I only re-watch The Matrix and try to forget the two sequels.

Funny to hear you at the beginning of this video say that you don’t need this to be a masterpiece, you just need it to be satisfying, as I consider this movie to be a very unsatisfying masterpiece. It’s definitely flawed and not as tidy and tight as the first movie, and has a way of making you feel dumb whether you understand the ending or not, while the first movie makes you feel smart.
EDIT: people are rushing to the defense of this movie in the replies to my comment, suggesting that I am projecting by saying the movie makes you feel dumb, when in fact confusion seems to be the standard response to the end of this movie, as evidenced in this reaction video. That is the intention of the Wachowskis, and that is not my criticism of the movie. If you actually read my comment, you will see that I refer to it as a masterpiece. It isn’t as tidy or as comprehensible as the first movie and I think that is why people generally like the first one so much more, but I have grown to love the sequels just as much, if not more, than the first movie, and the way the sequels subvert the first movie is a big part of that. This movie often makes people feel dumb. Good! If you only watch movies that make you feel mart you’re probably not watching the right movies. This trilogy is better for taking a few viewings to understand, and has more staying power and rewatchability than it would if it tied things up in a nice little bow and spelled everything out at every turn.

chilled99 I actually didn’t come up with that, someone else said it and I found it pretty relatable, so no, I didn’t mean “it made me feel dumb.” I am commenting on the near-universal confusion audiences experienced upon seeing this movie for the first time. I saw this in theaters, I talked to many people about it, I read many of the reviews and commentary that were published around its release. Did it make me feel dumb the first time I saw this movie? Yes. Is that what I meant? No. I meant what I wrote. People were generally confused by the ending of this movie. It’s not a controversial statement.
