It makes the 14 year old in me so happy to see Epic getting this much love. Your Doomcrawler design is absolutely inspired, and I'm sure the Chaos gods themselves would be envious. Brilliant work, my dude, never stop.
I really appreciate you shining a light on the NetEA project. It's never easy to keep these games alive and any project like this needs exposure and new people discovering it. A lot of those old Chaos Engines are very much 'of their time' but have real potential for an update.
I think my favorite part of this channel is how indepth the customization goes and what we all get to see. Wether its Dave's 3D modeling, or Jenn's Photoshop/Illustrator, or anything like the panel mural we got to see previously, its nice to get your thought processes on what you're making while you're doing it.
Congrats to whoever edited this - sneaking in the Deep Rock Galactic pod launch noise as you say 'dive' at about 0:35. I had to replay that about four times to make sure I wasn't imaging it!
My buddy and I traveled in my RV all winter chasing powder in Colorado (I live in San Diego). Before the trip, we contemplated bringing our 2k point 40k armies; but the terrain and table wouldn’t fit in my tiny RV. We found on Etsy some awesome 6mm scale miniatures for all the armies we have, and bought units to run armies we’ve always wanted to. We scaled down regular 40k down to epic scale, including finding terrain, and we’re playing 2000 point 40k on a 15”x 22” table in my tiny rv in the parking lot of the ski resorts lol. Smoking our tobacco pipes and watching lord of the rings on the projector. Long story short. Highly recommend. We banged out a game in less than an hour so we’d get a couple in a night!
I remember playing Netea over tabletop simulator and using termites drills as proxies for my Doomblasters, they were such good units! Seeing this makes my world eaters loving heart very happy! Lovely video
Great work, Dave! Love seeing how you reimagined a model to make it more in line with something you thought would be cool in your army. You did a great job with all the super tiny hazard stripes!
I feel that Epic is the "correct" scale for 40k; it allows for larger engagements that can be played in a reasonable space and time. As a crusty old Grognard, I heartily approve of the Metal bombast of the new BOOOOOOOOOM BLASTAAAAAAH!!!! 😍
Great model, it looks fantastic when painted. My only concern is it is rather large compared to the Predators, BUT, if it is supposed to be a super heavy, then it is just fine.
awesome video. the modeling was great and interesting to watch, and the stuff on this channel keeps getting better. it's cool to see you guys take a neglected corner of tabletop gaming and breathe some life into it.
Well deserved like and sub here. I've seen a couple of your videos and really like your content. Your passion for 40k and Epic are evident and I love the redesign of your army and Doomcrawler.
So cool to see how you model your very own model from a picture and then update it to make it your very own. Sort of make me want to get some epic models, but I know I won't be able to do them justice when it comes to painting so I think I'll stick to the regular size figures. But still cool to see you work with them :-)
Back in WW2, Shermans had a massive drum attachment that went on the front of the chassis with a bunch of ball and chain flails. Was used for mine clearing mainly, but the front roller really reminded me of it. Plus the Shermans outfitted with it were designated as Crab, so would fit the crab claws.
When I bought my very first box of space marine assault marines, 40k and epic were pretty much neck and neck. I don’t regret picking 40k, but since AT is by far the best scifi game GW make, imo, I‘d be very interested in a revived epic 40k. I may or may not have a load of epic scale minis, bought with the intention of using them as basing material for AT. They’re not yet glued down, tho, so….. =)
happy memories!!! - I was there for the first of just about everything in GW and enjoyed Space Hulk (1st) best followed by Epic (1st) and Judge Dredd (1st ed) .... yeah I'm old!!!
I had both those 1st editions when they came out too, I only let them go a couple of years ago because we moved to France, big mistake, really wished I hadn't! ☹️
Same here - fun fact the Death Guard used to be light grey with red pauldrons - check out the box art. The short stories in White Dwarf and the original Space Marine rules about the Horus Heresy were awesome too.
Me looking at it the 3D Model: "Oh wow, that looks significantly better, still not something I would buy or anything but, decent" Me looking at it primed and with nuln oil in your hands: "AYO WHAT!?! THAT LOOKS GOOD, I WOULD BUY THAT!"
I still have my original Epic Space Marine (Crimson Fists, 1st Edition on Square bases) chapter and OMG you did such a good job on that sculpt for the Doom Crawler! I think one of the factors I liked about Epic was that it IS easier to paint the models because you don't have to be "that" detailed. As a teenager this was a huge thing as you could buy, paint & play so much faster. MORE EPIC NEEDED!!
could there be a way of getting hold of your fantastic mods that you created for tanks/infantry for this video? I wouldn't know where to start doing what you did lol
I've got a massive Imperial Guard army for E:A I loved that game, The IG was a really powerful force in the game, the amount of artillery you could unleash on your opponent was insane.
Glad to have found this video as I'm planning to do Iron Warriors for the HH Epic that's going to be coming out soon (god help me) and seeing this helps figure out a few things for them.
3D printing is interesting, but normal these days. But imagine what folks back in 2003 would have thought about it. It would have seemed like black magic. Truly awesome that it’s keeping this old game alive 🤘
I had a huge Dark Angels/Imperial tanks/Titans army when I was in my early teens. Such a fun game to play, on a scale that no other Warhammer game could match.
As someone who played Epic way back in the mid 90's... yeah that embodies the GW model perfectly. If I had access to a 3D printer I'd print a shit load of those to use in my Epic Chaos force. Also, the Iron Warriors colour scheme works so well on the Khorne Daemon Engines.
Awesome work dude: Epic Armageddon ftw. Easily the best, most balanced version of epic. I'm currently painting my way through about 15,000 points worth of Net EA Horus Heresy for myself and a mate :D
In a perfect world Epic would be GW's flagship game and everyone could enjoy massive EPIC battles that are a much much better reflection of the setting than the "battles" in 40k. I absolutely LOVE the models you created. They would have blown people away back in the day!! Keep at it!!
The 2nd edition of Space Marine was my first GW boxed game in '91; I kept playing it right the way through to the release of Epic Armageddon, which killed all my interest. I'm sure it was a fine game but it was different enough to feel like they killed the thing I loved and dressed up some rando they found in the street with a suit made out of its skin, wearing its face as a mask. Anyway, that whole time I mostly played chaos undivided, with a huge army with a hundred or so vehicles, a dozen titans, more infantry than you could shake a plastic 1995 whippy measuring stick at - including the old trolls and minotaurs and everything. Not a single Doom Blaster, because whatever it did on the battlefield it looked daft. But I'd have happily had a few of this revision, no question!
Your self designed tank looks really cool. In fact, it was a time (once upon a time) when Games Workshop presented an extra separata (Ordo Malleus Dixit) with White Dwarf with rules for you to design your own vehicles and pley them. I still got it. The time of the legendary deo stick gravitatory tank by Jervis Johnsson...
Agree with the rest of the comments on the Doomcrawler. Amazing work and true to the original and amazing concept and model from way back in the day. Well done with the entire army!
Nice work. One suggestion I’d make is on the Defiler, on the banded part on the inside of the claws, instead of having all the bands be gold/brass you should’ve alternated between that colour and a dark silver/grey so it looks like hazard striping. 😉 Another suggestion I’d make is maybe dry brush the ends of the mortar barrels on the super heavy to show they see heavy use.
There is just something really endearing about collecting and painting small scale, I play The 9th Age in 28mm but I can't stop myself from printing and painting several armies and terrain in 10mm scale.
I'd actually been poking about for epic models for the last few days considering getting back into it. The doom laster remake nailed it. I now want to see a retooled Lord of Battle.
Epic was the only mainstream Games Workshop game I played, I never played 40K or Warhammer, most of my friends did but Epic caught my imagination unlike the other Games Workshop stuff, I did play a bit of Space Hulk, hence my love for Dark Angels (my Epic Space marine army) other than Dark Angels I fielded Eldar, I did get a few more armies Chaos, Dorfs & Imperial Guard to name a few of my larger forces, unfortunately, me moving house and drastically downsizing my stuff at the time of the move has resulted in the total destination of all my epic forces. 😞 However after watching your first video it re-sparked my love for Epic, so I scraped a few quid together and bid on ebay, some winning & lots losing until I had a small haphazard force of Eldar (I stripped the paying quickly on the metal minis with acetone, also removed and dissolves superglue) to paint, I'm painting them in my old colours, base white with flames of dark blue licking at there legs & the lower areas of the vehicles. The Eldar "Soul Fire" Craftworld. I suppose after finishing the Eldar I will have to maybe print myself a Dark Angel Army to Fight/Join them on the field 🙂
I was involved in developing army lists for that for a bit. Made a bunch of printable unit proxy counter designs (paper printable, this was the early 00s after all)
Can we just get a whole new channel of Dave making Warhammer Epic content and call it "Tiny Top Time"?
It’s Tiny Tank Time!
only if he wears an appropriate to the name small top /s
It makes the 14 year old in me so happy to see Epic getting this much love. Your Doomcrawler design is absolutely inspired, and I'm sure the Chaos gods themselves would be envious. Brilliant work, my dude, never stop.
Thankyou that means a lot!
I was around in that era, you absolutely hit the mark. Well done… I cannot express how much I fucking love this.
Thankyou, I'm glad it hit the right spot. It was so fun to make
That doom crawler came out awesome Dave, great job!
Now make the tanks kiss
I did, don't worry. They kyithed
@@TabletopTime good.
HERESY
Slaanesh tanks?! 😱
As someone who played a little bit of Epic when they were (much) younger this really makes me want to get a 3D printer and get an army made
Do it! Join us!
I really appreciate you shining a light on the NetEA project. It's never easy to keep these games alive and any project like this needs exposure and new people discovering it. A lot of those old Chaos Engines are very much 'of their time' but have real potential for an update.
Your doomcrawler is just stellar! A wonderful reimagining, perfectly fitting. I absolutely adore how it turned out.
Your 3D modelling work is looking great Dave!
“Oh, it’s Beautiful!”
Not just the engine, but also tanks, and the marines too.
And now it's coming back!
My buddy and I traveled in my RV all winter chasing powder in Colorado (I live in San Diego). Before the trip, we contemplated bringing our 2k point 40k armies; but the terrain and table wouldn’t fit in my tiny RV.

Great video! I got into Epic scale stuff a few years ago. It's so nice seeing other hobbyists keeping the game/concept alive.
Doom crawler looks super cool! Totally inspiring me to give the digital sculpting a go!
that little "hih" in the end just nice touch to end the video, it's like his inner child just awoke!
That home-sculpt looks truly epic *pun intended* Would love to see more content like this, even a battle report *wink wink nudge nudge*
Beautiful models !
As someone who's way to young to have played when it first released, there is something so satisfying about the abstracted detail of the teeny models
The Khorne symbol as the treads is genius
I remember playing Netea over tabletop simulator and using termites drills as proxies for my Doomblasters, they were such good units!
Seeing this makes my world eaters loving heart very happy! Lovely video
Great work, Dave! Love seeing how you reimagined a model to make it more in line with something you thought would be cool in your army. You did a great job with all the super tiny hazard stripes!
Man, this is great - you're inspiring me to get into 3d sculpting now with that gigantic skull/doom/wagon/mortar thing
I feel that Epic is the "correct" scale for 40k; it allows for larger engagements that can be played in a reasonable space and time. As a crusty old Grognard, I heartily approve of the Metal bombast of the new BOOOOOOOOOM BLASTAAAAAAH!!!! 😍
Yes, glad to see another one! Thank you!
Great model, it looks fantastic when painted. My only concern is it is rather large compared to the Predators, BUT, if it is supposed to be a super heavy, then it is just fine.
Also - that black stripes on yellow can also mean crossing out yellow which is the color of the main rivals of Iron Warriors - Imperial Fists.
WOW. That…thing…you made looks amazing! Great level of detail, and you really made something derpy cool!!!
I love that Doomcrawler! Still suitably derpy, but so many lovely details; I absolutely love those Khorne tracks to bits!
Your 3d sculpting is incredible! Awesome job and amazing video.
awesome video. the modeling was great and interesting to watch, and the stuff on this channel keeps getting better. it's cool to see you guys take a neglected corner of tabletop gaming and breathe some life into it.
hell yeah! this is it! you nailed it. Please do more like this
Loving the small scale stuff so nostalgic. Perfect sculpt of the model, modern yet oldschool at the same time.
Well deserved like and sub here. I've seen a couple of your videos and really like your content. Your passion for 40k and Epic are evident and I love the redesign of your army and Doomcrawler.

The khorne rune pattern threads is either genius or absolutely stupid... either way I love it!
I have a whole lot of Epic models from the 1990's, they were fun to play with back then. I really liked your video and what you created.
I love the slight titanic vibe in the doomcrawler! Amazing sculpting job 👏
You have really outdone yourself this time! That tank was truly a work of art!
THIS IS SO AWESOME! The little kid in me is happy to see something new for Epic! Its been so long so long Keep up the great work my friend!
Like how u used khornes symbol as the treads really cool

that skull tank thing smashed the original out the park
I love all your videos. I respect the skill required to work in a medium that is so small, yet detail oriented.
could there be a way of getting hold of your fantastic mods that you created for tanks/infantry for this video? I wouldn't know where to start doing what you did lol
The coolest thing I have seen you do I love it. 👏🏻
I'm gobsmacked! I'd love to see him scaled up to 40k size, awesome work on the sculpt man.
This is soooo excellent! The sculpting is amazing
The biggest thumbs up.
This brings back happy memories of an 18yr old!
This video introduced me to epic and now I’m convinced to look into the game more
Its a really solid system, and more stable now its 'unsupported' officially. Get involved, play some games, feed back to the community.
If you want an easier way to do the hazard stripes, a good option is to shift from paint to the fine tipped sharpies, then sealing them.
Your sculpt is Very Cool !
Love it All!! Especially the doom crawler!!!!
I've got a massive Imperial Guard army for E:A I loved that game, The IG was a really powerful force in the game, the amount of artillery you could unleash on your opponent was insane.
Your redesign of this ancient chaosist's mini is very cool!
just awesome. i wish i had a 3d printer to print my own. Will have to see if a friend will print for me.
Glad to have found this video as I'm planning to do Iron Warriors for the HH Epic that's going to be coming out soon (god help me) and seeing this helps figure out a few things for them.
Awesome!!!👏💪🍻
Great job! I remember I had an Imperial Guard army and a custom made Commissar Yarrick stand with a power claw. Good times
I really can't wait to paint up my own doomblaster! Thank you for sharing that cool design.
That crawler is glorious dude! makes me wish for a 40k scale one! awesome work!
This is so cool.. more Epic please!

If I had access to a 3D printer I'd print a shit load of those to use in my Epic Chaos force.
Also, the Iron Warriors colour scheme works so well on the Khorne Daemon Engines.
Played the original Epic games and I absolutely love this! Wish GW would take all this love for an abandoned game and release it back to the world.
Well done, lots of skill on display.
Awesome work dude: Epic Armageddon ftw. Easily the best, most balanced version of epic.
I'm currently painting my way through about 15,000 points worth of Net EA Horus Heresy for myself and a mate :D

What an awesome, creative work you done!
That really shows how this technology can be used to literally make our hobby dreams come true! 🤓
Truely wouldn't have dreamed of it, it's amazing
The 2nd edition of Space Marine was my first GW boxed game in '91; I kept playing it right the way through to the release of Epic Armageddon, which killed all my interest. You 3d modeling skills are getting better by the video!
Great job brother!! A true homage to our favorite 40k game!!
That doom crawler came out awesome
Dave, you are part of the Legend right now!
I have played normal 40k rules but using epic figs and using mm instead of inchs , makes for some huge games , great fun :)
makes me want to start 3d printing my own epic models
Your self designed tank looks really cool. Played a whole heap of Epic in the '90s as a teenager. Probably only Necromunda and 40k 2nd Ed got more table time.
I just finished my first batch of 6mm scale 40k, but I've been using OPR when using them.
Agree with the rest of the comments on the Doomcrawler. Amazing work and true to the original and amazing concept and model from way back in the day. Well done with the entire army!
Thanks it makes me just want to make more!
Really really enjoying the Warhammer Epic videos with Dave
Thanks I've loved making them
Well done!
I think I have to print some Iron Warriors as my 4th Epic army now.
congrats on your 3d journey dave. Can't wait to see what you do next
Pardon the pun but your design is EPIC!!! You know what would be cool the Primarch!! Can l download your chaos minis too?
I've never seen a more accurate portrayal of my sense of humor than "DEATH ROLLER 🦀 *BASS BOOSTED CRAB RAVE* 🦀"
So cute!
Coming along nicely with those sculpting skills. When can we expect the first full mini sculped by Dave?
I've still got plenty of work to do on organic parts but I'm confident now I could do something mechanical!
epic was awesome
Nice work. One suggestion I’d make is on the Defiler, on the banded part on the inside of the claws, instead of having all the bands be gold/brass you should’ve alternated between that colour and a dark silver/grey so it looks like hazard striping. 😉
