    I left AVOW when the guy who went by the pseudonym Coyboy was ousted by Parrett. That was a very long time ago, but clearly not much has changed over there. It’s kind of embarrassing. Christopher still sends out his “highlights” emails, the latest panic items and doom and gloom he’s trying to use to drag people back in. The last one was literally copy and pasted from TheDrudgeReport. All the same stories in all the same order. I remember some poor lady over there saying how she’d sold her wedding rings to buy food storage, and her husband was so hurt over that. It’s just sick and wrong. Plus Parrett used to read people’s private messages (there’s a not-so private messaging function at AVOW). He’s the king of the full-scrub. He can make any detractor disappear off the forum at any time, along with every post they ever did. He removes all competition and criticism. There was a lot of revisionist history happening there after Chad started to look guilty. In a couple years, those poor subscribers will not even remember what went on.

      Wow, it's even more toxic and inward looking than previously thought. Thanks for sharing, what stops others, why isn't this destructive nonsense outed and discussed in the open. Breeding ground for future catastrophe, pain suffering and tragedy in real time not some fanciful future. If only one thing is learnt from the child and adult deaths in the Daybell debacle it must be to speak up when you know or feel something is wrong or rotten,. Speech can save lifes and this is the real work God put us on the this earth to do. Too much of this darkness is driven by personal greed.

      Sounds like their belief of having eternal life/salvation is based solely on one's food storage which boils down to financial abilities and not based on a personal relationship with Jesus....what a SLAP on our Dear Saviors Face...that we don't need His sacrifices made for each one of us and our Salvation/Eternal LIFE depends on SELF...the amount of food we have stored.
      Why can't they see HOW WRONG these teachings are....is NOT WHAT the Holy Scriptures teach. And cans of corn, veggies, sack of beans, rice, flour is what gets you into Heaven and what took place on the cross, Jesus ultimate sacrifice is worthless....but these people are so blinded by Satan's deceptive powers that there's no WAY for them to return to the TRUTH as they may have crossed over the point of no RETURN...unless they STOP and repent w a contrite and humble HEART...but we don't SEE ANY of THEM repenting or being humble...instead are FULL of pride, SELF appointments as THE LEADER that others must obey and worship them.
      We too got caught up in END TIMES trauma drama...we emptied our wallets almost left us financially ruined bcuz we were convinced that time was too short AND was OUR DUTY to HELP save as many people as possible...we gave our time, resources and every ounce of energy instead of just enjoying life itself...my son and other family members got ignored as I was too busy with our "godly" duties of spreading the scary, terrifying warnings of WHAT was about to happen.
      Many nights, I'd weep and sob my heart out, unable to sleep as I worried about soon to come "The END TIMES and the Time of Trouble"
      Our lives were totally focused of the impending doom... Deadly earthquakes, fires, pandemics and financial ruin....i was so terribly unhappy I contemplated ending my life because I was too afraid of what was about to take place...
      I secretly despised my faith and my view of God wasn't any better..He was a mean and most cruel entity to be feared by ALL BCUZ if we didn't GET ready, God would torture and punish us AND THEN we'd burn in HELL.
      We were young mid 20s, invested and saved wisely, owned a beautiful home on several acres, a hilltop w most beautiful view. It was east San Diego County always hot and I wanted an inground swimming pool as well as beautiful refurbishing for our fabulous home..but because of OUR crazy End Time beliefs we sold that home, my dream home..and moved further out in country...instead of getting nice furniture, we got used stuff, sold the nicer things..my son a gifted music prodigy did not get the grand piano he'd begged for, instead we got an old upright clunker piano and used the money on END TIMES ...
      This was mid 70s, almost half century ago and we became disillusioned, discouraged that we gave up on our faith thinking why bother? We look BACK and FEEL the painfully obvious of foolishness we'd learned believed....the financial loss is heartbreaking....but we're ok...the leaders of this belief benifited from our giving while they enjoys THINGS we only dreamed of having...it took us years to go back to church..now fully engaged..but RECENT writings in the church publications alarmed us....END TIMES, GLOBAL PANDEMIC, VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS, EARTHQUAKES, FORCED VACCINES, LOSS OF OUR RIGHTS, CIVIL UNRESTRAINED, MARSHALL LAW...FOR SURE IS END TIMES.....sigh....yawn yawn..am I cynical? Angry? Bittet? You bet! I think these prepper and AVOW people WILL one day wake the HELL up and come to their senses and conclusions that THIS belief is SELF SERVING and WILL see Chad and Lori as nothing more than 2 horny murderers who lead them far out in the thicket and abandoned them all when they see the TRAIL and they're sitting in prison cage locked up until they're dead..then WHO WILL they turn to as their new gawd?
      Melanoma Gibberish? Maybe so but there's a few others who aren't as CRAZY and WILL beat her off her white throne! 🚽 and toss her jeweled 👑 in the PET cemetery along w a dead raccoon!

And I've learned some more since. But this interview taught me a lot. Maybe I've been living under a rock because I didn't know what AVOW was, and still really don't except for what's in this interview. I hadn't heard of Chad or Julie or about of these people before the news reports. I did have a friend recommend the book visions of glory so i ordered it on audible. But I've never listened to it. I just now remembered about it because she had said it was about a near death experience so this triggered my memory. I don't think I'll be listening to it. Maybe it has nothing to do with this but I don't even care. It's all so weird. These people are crazy. And I'm a believer in food storage. But this is nuts. This was fascinating. Based on the information that comes out in this interview, it seems that for years Chad was writing “end-times” books and saying they were fiction. During those years his books weren’t making much money, and he and Tammy had serious money problems, including a bankruptcy. He then began publishing Julie Rowe’s books, which she claims contain non-fiction predictions of the “end-times.” Her books became very popular and sold a lot, which made money for Chad since he was Julie Rowe’s publisher. Additionally, the popularity of Julie Rowe’s books led to her doing several well-attended (and expensive) speaking engagements, where she made a lot of money. Chad could now see two ways that he could increase his own income: 1) write books about the “end-times” and claim that they contain your “true” visions of upcoming events. 2) Once you’ve created some “buzz” and interest in your books, use that as a jumping off point to do speaking engagements where you can charge people to hear you speak about your supposed visions. The fact that Chad suddenly started telling people that his fiction books were really non-fiction visions, dreams and predictions of the future, just when he saw Julie Rowe making a lot of money doing the same thing….this leads to the conclusion that he probably saw the monetary opportunities in scamming people by exploiting their desire for spiritual knowledge. What a con artist. Additionally, he and Julie Rowe followed a very similar playbook as they both continued their scam…they both groomed people who seemed particularly easy to manipulate, and they would eventually go to those people and ask for money, favors, etc….in exchange for being told by Chad or Julie that they were “special and chosen.” In the police interviews I’ve seen with Chad/Lori’s followers, their followers seem to fall into 2 categories: 1) So many of them seem emotionally very immature for being in their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. They really seem to be operating at the level of about a teenager, and are very easily manipulated; very needy for validation and someone to “tell them what to do.” It is a kind of deep immaturity and irresponsibility to allow yourself (as fully an adult) to just be told what to do without engaging in any critical thinking or analysis of the merits of what you’re being told to do. These people just swallowed whole everything Chad/Lori would tell them, without challenging any of the strange, dangerous things they were being told. 2) A small number of the police interviewees actually seem intelligent and a bit more mature, but their downfall is that they were seeking for deeper and deeper meaning in their religious study and worship, to the point where they eventually “looked beyond the mark,” as the scriptures call it. The simple, sweet truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ were not “enough” for them, and they ended up going into strange pseudo-doctrinal estuaries and paths which took them further and further away from the actual teachings of the church. Over and over again the LDS church’s leaders have begged the members to “stay in the mainstream of the church.” In every interview I’ve heard so far from those who are/were followers or fans of Chad, Lori, Julie Rowe, AVOW, Preparing A People…those who are part of these groups and affiliations were involved in beliefs and practices that are not taught in the LDS church. They’re looking for something more, or beyond the teachings of the church, (looking beyond the mark), and in doing so they open themselves up to being deceived.

    I was in the original professional cast of Saturday's warrior. I'm no longer a member of the church , But the other day a page from one of Chad's books was posted -by you I think Lauren-And I couldn't believe it. The last four lines on the page were copied right out of the music/lyrics score of Saturday's Warrior. Plagiarism, as good as it gets!
    From the song, "The Circle of our Love".
    You may not know the musical, but it was quite a phenomenon in the '70s. I couldn't help notice, because I'd sung that song a thousand times. (I took a screenshot of it).

It is also the one characteristic of conspiracy theorists that is constant through every conspiracy theory…flat earthers, anti-vaxxers, 9-11 truthers- all feel they are special because they know “facts” the general public ( sometimes referred to as sheep) don’t know or are too stupid to believe. As a longtime member of AVOW and as someone who met Julie a handful of times I want to be absolutely clear about Julie’s motivation about bodyguards: it was “sex.” All of these people were extremely horny. They were also extremely LDS. They sought intimacy in whatever way they felt was justifiable. This intimacy often was as awkward and dumb like being a bodyguard for Julie. The split happened not because of Chad and Lori’s visions but because Lori convinced everyone that they were being dumb and should just go ahead and have sex rather than settling for a shoulder rub from Julie or whatever.

First she was a good friend of Chad's and she has said in her own words that she herself saw Tammy dying at an early age from a car accident and their own way she said she told that to Chad, I feel like she is the one who planted that bug in Chad's ear, now on dateline she says Chad was saying that and she totally detached herself from ever saying it and agreeing with it Red Flags for me ! She also said that Chad had also told her that they were married in a past life . Now she dogs him like it's all Chad and never her !
    Also I never heard of her until the news broke out and now she wants to surround herself around this case I think her only reason is that she's trying to make money off of the death of JJ Tammy and Tylee , in short I think of her as a lying con artist, out there to get fame from this diabolical cult and she is no better than the rest of them.

      @@sunnylilme This is late, but this is a mormon sub group (AVOW), so when they say prophet, they're referring to the president of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. The president is also believed to be the prophet of God here on earth. There are also apostles and a quorum of seventy men who lead in various capacities. When the current president/prophet dies he's succeeded by one of the current apostles who takes his place. Much of these teachings aren't supported bchurchy the mainstream mormon . The food supply is supported, as church members are encouraged to have the means to be self sufficient in a crisis situation, but these camp visions that Julie Rowe was preaching that she saw were not. She was essentially saying that she was being given visions that the prophet of the church was not, which was basically setting herself above their head honcho, which was a no-no. I'm not sure if she was excommunicated, but these types of things were definitely kept hush from the legitimate leaders of the church. A group that encouraged and helped people collaborate and share info about food storage would be fine, but a woman claiming to have visions that their prophet had not seen and Chad and his whole claim that he was a prophet who could see people that were 'dark' and became zombies were not mainstream teaching. I think most of that wackiness was kept from this group. These requests, like what Anna was speaking about (to deed over property to Julie), were affinity fraud. The original members of the church did have a more communal setup, where they shared resources while they built a church. Even now the prophet/president of the mormon church controls vast funds and property that have been given to the church in the form of tithing paid by members. Julie was essentially setting herself up as an alternative prophetess. It's amazing to me that it took something this crazy to make some people realize it's shady AF but hearing her talk, I can sort of understand how initially it was innocent interest, but slowly the cuckoos started emerging. For the most part, members of the mainstream church are very good people that want to do good in the world. Unfortunately, that desire to be good, helpful people, and being generally trusting make them targets. Utah has one of the highest rates of affinity fraud in the country. Sorry, I didn't mean to write so much.

    • @mel720
      @mel720 2 года назад +2

      @@sunnylilme Yes, absolutely it leads to a dangerous naivete. When you mention Disney princess, that is a very real thing. Mainstream mormon girls are expected to get married "in the temple," which is closed to members generally until they either: for girls, get married, which is conducted in a mormon temple to a closed temple worthy audience, in which they take out "endowments" just before the marriage ceremony, which essentially is a secretive (they say sacred) ceremony different from what most people think if as a marriage ceremony. The temple session they participate in prior is when they begin wearing "garments" (the long mormon underwear) under their clothes. For men, they usually either do their endowments before their church mission (that they serve at age 18), or when they marry. The most devout Mormons kind of expect their sons, if not their daughters, to serve a mission. For most girls, the temple marriage is the first time they're exposed to the temple ceremony, which, if you've seen pictures of mormon weddings, the temple picture is highly valued. The bride is in her princess (wedding) dress and the temple looms in the background like the castle. Because people don't talk about what happens in the temple, girls have such a build up about the day without really knowing what the ceremony entails. Many are left feeling confused. Young mormons put such a huge focus on the temple marriage that I think it's fair to say a lot rush into the marriage (many marry within months of meeting), yet temple marriage means you're eternally married. I've had many friends struggle when they realize they've married someone they hardly know and now they have to make it work, or they've failed their earthly purpose. Over my lifetime things have relaxed quite a bit, but the undercurrents are there and if you're devout you believe and I've seen so much inherent guilt as a result. The mainstream mormon church has a modern outer appearance, and in fact a lot of the women get plastic surgery to fit an ideal. The schism that happened in 1930 created the offshoot fundamentalists. They still practice polygamy. They're the ones you may have seen in prairie dresses and braids. They do talk in whispery voices and were in the media a lot when Warren Jeffs was wanted and captured by the FBI. Those women are cut off from modern society and live in a VERY patriarchal society where wives and children are treated as property and if a man crosses their prophet they have their entire family taken away and reassigned to a "worthy" man. Mainstream mormons don't support most of the fundamentalist practices (anymore) and as Utah becomes more socially diverse the church struggles to be seen as a modern mainstream church while still exerting control over its members. It's been interesting to experience. I'm glad that you have grown past your upbringing. I hope you know that you're not bad for questioning and growing beyond. Personally, I think strict religions are a control mechanism and it's hard to fully shake off the shackles and not have recurring guilt, or a voice in your head that questions. Sometimes it's hard to separate intent of the individual from the constricting teachings of an institution. I try when encountering members that want to judge. Usually their heart is in the right place, but they're viewing it through a lens we don't share. Just my 2 cents. Which I realize is more like a dime, lol.

    I appreciate your vulnerable admission about feeling prideful! It's a difficult thing to do, especially on a large platform like this. I can understand feeling not only special but also relieved to be part of something that would protect you and your family in the worst case scenarios. Whether someone is LDS or any other faith, or no faith, we live in scary times, and I think it's natural for all of us to feel uneasy about the future.

    • @mbd6054

      Coming from Europe, it's very difficult to understand the 'pride' issue. If I sincerely believed in an imminent threat to my community, I would get together with my neighbours and friends, and do everything in my power to protect everyone possible from that threat. It would never occur to me to look after my own family only, and leave everyone else to their fate. If I did abandon my community, I would feel deep shame, not pride in being special. Is this where cult thinking reverses normal instincts? Or is it simply a matter of differing philosophies?

    • @cherietillapaughhott1012
      @cherietillapaughhott1012 2 года назад +4

      @@mbd6054 No, I think you're spot on, which was precisely the point of the admission of her shame in feeling as though she was somehow more special than others, since she was given such information and made to feel as though she had been "chosen." It's true that if we all knew trouble was coming, we would do everything in our power to protect our immediate family and those around us, including our neighbors, community, etc. The pride issue didn't come from our natural desire to protect those we love and those around us, it came from placing someone on a pedestal (by believing Julie Rowe, et al, was more important and more spiritual, etc), and allowing that person to manipulate you by convincing you that you are special and needed and part of "the inner circle," so to speak. Julie Rowe, and others like her, are able to scam and manipulate people into willingly giving them money, land, other valuables (or their unquestioning service, as was the case with Alex Cox for Lori, and eventually Chad, even to the point of murder), by honing in on the human's natural desire to feel special, or more important than others. They prey on the ego of others. It has much less to do with our natural desire to protect, and far more to do with our desire to feel important and better than others, i.e., pride. (This happens a lot with teenage girls, also. Just watch the movie "Mean Girls," and you'll find a perfect example of childish manipulation and gaslighting. The entire Vallow/Daybell inner group resembled nothing other than a clique of 8th grade girls, in my opinion.)
