I have a former brother in law that has a similar demeanor to Chad. He portrayed himself as a very humble guy, but in reality he was a narcissist. A name given to this is Covert Narcissist. He was in a bishopric and you would constantly hear people saying "he is So Humble!" He dressed like Chad because he thought it was vain to wear nice clothes. He had Chads awkward demeanor. He had extreme LDS beliefs and thought he was more righteous because of it. The ugly truth was he was a terrible husband and father. He was so strict and manipulative with the gospel that his Wife and Kids had no confidence. Eventually his wife got feed up and divorced him. When they separated he lashed out at the kids. He was charged with child abuse. After seeing my brother in law and watching Chad Daybells drama unfold, I have become wary of these soft spoken members, that come across as very humble, and are extreme in their observance of church rules. They can be a wolf in sheeps clothing!

My mother was raised in the LDS religion. She married my father who was catholic. She became a catholic and raised all us kids in the catholic religion. My mother interpreted dreams, and was very superstitious, which we were raised on. My father went along with this behavior but I've never heard any of this at catholic teaching. When my father passed away my mother took us to the LDS religion. I struggled relating to their teachings and beliefs. Years later by my questioning religion and searching to make sense of all these religions l finally realized that i was not going to beat myself up about religion. My worst fights was over religion with family members. I was given a brain to think, eyes to see and nerves to feel. Anything beyond that is irrelevant. I'm a mother of five wonderful human beings with lives of their own. Non of them are in a religion but do have a belief in a higher power. Life is hard enough why go looking for trouble.

In my mind, what a lot of this comes down to - a saying my mother always used: an idle mind is the the devil’s workshop. All these people seem privileged and bored. The Mormon housewives with their rich husbands and no jobs (or lazy Chad being supported by his unknowing wife). If all these people had to work full time jobs, or sometimes more than one job, I highly doubt they’d have time to sit around and think about ridding the world of zombies, having casting parties, energy work, having affairs, etc. Look at all these women- Lori, the Melani’s, Julie…. all bored with nothing better to do. Add in religious fanaticism and this is what you get.
Thanks for yet another great interview involving this crazy case! I can’t get enough!

No, we do Not need to respect everyone’s beliefs. I do not respect Chads and Lori’s beliefs, I do not respect Alex and Zulema’s beliefs, I do not respect Julie Rowes beliefs and all the other nuts that followed their teachings. I do not respect the beliefs of the IBLP group. Stand up, have a spine and use your brains, critical thinking has been thrown by the wayside. You don’t have to respect others beliefs.

I agree with you to a point. Respecting another person's belief as long as the belief respects Humanity, respects the rules of decency. Now to Julie Rowe. I do have experience with a very close relation who is Bi-Polar. Her behavior is exactly like that. I've read about people close to her and watched interviews of others. She is a classic Bi-Polar. Some of them are manic most of the time, even severley manic but rarely depressed and vice versa with serious periods of depression, while others are evenly split. This same behavior applies to Lori Vallow Daybell but not often severly manic who can turn, suddenly and become violent. Patty Duke was Bi-Polar and she allowed a movie about her life be produced, based on her book and her husband's input. At the time, her husband was John Aston, of The Adams Family.

How brainwashed were they or perhaps they weren’t fooled at all and are now deathly afraid of what really happened and keep silent. Wonder what Ann thinks.

Now, only he knows if he had these dreams, so I don't even believe that, I think he just wanted to be important, and he wanted to be center of attention. He wanted to write books, because he saw that people, who wrote books, about this kind of thing, sold a lot of books, but he had no idea how to write. I don't think he believed any of it.

It was said that Lori was trying to get Zulema and David Warwick together initially, so does that mean that Melanie and David were put together by Lori also? It seems that way. It also sounds like Chad and Lori were going to continue murdering people if they were saying spouses were going to die.??..Didn't know that Tammy and her five adult children were called zombies ??? Its amazing how mature people believed all these crazy teaching, and when you listen to 'whatever "over and over again" it's very possible you could dream about it...Its only a dream, nothing else...All this brainwashing and turning normal situations into something more is bizarre....I believe that there are So So many deluded, vulnerable people that will believe anything, and then their cynical people like myself ,that is skeptical about so much....Thankyou for this interview...Justice for Tylee, JJ, Charles, Tammy, and Joe 🇮🇪💚

    A thought for Lauren:
You asked if there's a connection between NDEs and visions. Here's my take on it. When one has an NDE, a lot of people report that the veil is a lot thinner. Hence, making people more prone to having visions after a near death event.
That being said, I feel like Chad Daybell and others may take advantage of claiming NDEs, and therefore making them more "credible" in sharing their visions. I highly doubt he has had these experiences.
When sharing these vulnerable and sacred experience, you will often have a captivated and solemn audience who will hang on to every word you say as truth. Chad totally took advantage of this.

I was shocked to hear how many people like Summer Shiflet, Janis Cox, Melani Boudreaux Pawlowski, and even the Bishop in Chad's ward "had faith" and were "trying to stay positive" after the kids disappeared. No, I don't have faith when a mother won't say where her kids are and sits in jail instead. Both spouses died. They get married within a few weeks and everyone is convinced that things will turn out fine based on faith in Lori's track record as a mom? Lori protecting them? It was despicable in terms of expressing faith in a person. Everyone else knew at a bare minimum that the kids were at risk and under distress, held incommunicado because their mother is paranoid, or worse, that she was involved in their kidnapping or death.

I had an NDE as a 7 year old child, due to terrible physical trauma. What happened to me was this: I left my body and floated up. I was looking down at the scene below. I saw the little injured girl. I observed the entire situation. BUT it was as if I was there as a neutral witness. I felt no remorse, compassion, or horror. I didn't feel as if what was happening was good or bad. No fear or anticipation. It was nothing other than complete and unquestioned acceptance of EVERYTHING. It was just being, and nothing more.
I don't remember how long my recovery period was. I didn't tell anyone I had left my body until I was well into my 30s.
Having experienced this myself, as a child with no prior knowledge of such a thing, and much reflection about it over the years, I tend to disbelieve any "fantastic" accounts of what others claim to have had.

When I hear people talk about near death experiences it makes me INSANE. I am an ICU nurse and a big portion of our population are people who have “survived” CPR after their heart stopped. News flash people, the majority of those who survive CPR either do not survive, or if they do they are profoundly neurologically damaged. They will never be able to do any of the things they enjoyed and if kept alive will be on a ventilator for the rest of their life or a very serious brain injury. It’s not like TV. It is horrific most of the time. Only about 40ish% of people who are resuscitated after CPR come out with good to MODERATE neuro outcomes. All of these folks are delusional and live in the land of make-believe.

I was chocking on a piece of meat . I couldn't breathe. My husband did the Heimlich Maneuver 2 times, then I was up on the refrigerator watching us down below. It was very peaceful and I thought so this is what it's like to die. Very peaceful, not afraid, 26:28 detached. Suddenly,he did the Heimlich again & suddenly the meat flew out. I could feel the edges of the sink and my stomach and ribs hurt. I could breathe again. I didn't see a white light,or go to heaven,or saw beyond the veil . I think it's a function of the brain, protecting the person so one doesn't panic. When I could breathe again, I felt everything, sore throat, sore ribs, painful stomach from pressing against the sink. So.....

I was always under the impression that the reason the mormons prepared food storage and supplies needed for at least a year was not just for an emergency for their personal family but for their local community needs. In case someone who was the family bread winner in their church became injured, ill or died, the people who had their storage could all pitch in and keep the family afloat until the suffering family could recover financially enough to get on their feet again. I always admired that about the Mormons. I never heard about it being some kind of supplies and tents to prepare for the second coming until this Chad Daybell - Lori Vallow crazy crap.

There were various clairvoyants there offering readings, and some energy therapists. Early on in the day the lights went out, firstly in the function room, then the whole hotel, followed by the entire electric in the hotel, as we left the function room I heard a staff member say to someone "this happened the last time there was an holistic fair here too". On top of this, the car alarms went of continuously throughout the day. At the time I felt uneasy about it, and the more years that have passed, the more I feel that it was a really bad omen, and I should of run for the hills.

Those who do that are quickly identified by lucifer as someone who will spread his lies and they begin receiving all kinds of deceptive spiritual experiences.....and......they share them. I believe Chad is a flat out liar, Julie may have had an experience, I don't know, but she shared it, got a following, got prideful because of it and down the dark path she went .Lori Vallow is a flat out liar as well. Be leary, very leary of anyone sharing sacred experiences outsid their own personal stewardship, which is their own family.

Speaking to food storage - when I was an LDS convert for a short time the church taught me that food storage was to be prepared for the unforeseen, like a job loss, etc, and to try to always have a minimum of 6 months worth. Never once were the “end times” mentioned. So it made good sense to me. Is it standard practice keeping this a secret so as not to frighten off a newbie?

    • @amghinistar4582
      @amghinistar4582 2 года назад

No what you were taught is what food storage is for by LDS teachings. The Prepper movement is independent of LDS, many people of different faiths can be preppers. However, those with LDS background who subscribe to the prepper lifestyle, use food storage as their prepping.

    • @larse9999

No, the church teaches that food storage is for the unexpected life challenges that come like illness, job loss, etc. And you should have a 72 hour kit in the event of a natural disaster. There are some people that take it to extremes, and they are preparing for end times or other calamities. Lots of people are preppers and they are not UT all affiliated with the church. I had a neighbor who is an evangelical that believes in a zombie apocalypse and he was way into prepping. Very fringe and strange beliefs.

No we shouldn’t “respect people’s beliefs”. You no longer respect the beliefs of these murderous people so let’s not pretend that we should respect other bad beliefs. Should we grant some grace to others? Yes absolutely -face to face in real life. But on the internet with strangers-let’s take some time to call out false beliefs and let’s get more people to question their own positions. I can respect a person’s humanity and how they have been led to false beliefs through no fault of their own necessarily but the belief itself? Hell no- I mean there are people who believed in child sacrifice. That is a false belief. And a bad belief! This interviewee Anna still holds beliefs that she should question but she refuses because it pushes too hard against her whole community. The Latter Day saints is on the whole a bunch of nice people-not any crazier than any other group. Most people do try hard to do the right things. But large organized religions all have corruption at their central cores and people should reject that. If Mormons could get beyond the peer pressure and admit the truth about how unfulfilling their temple experiences are and how awkward their sexual trauma made them-that’d be a big step forward. They are trying so hard to be pure in heart and motivated to do good that they ignore big red flags which should make them throw away their gullibility. And yes as far as prepping goes-fear is a huge motivator...but fear and excitement live right next to each other in the brain stem. The other thing that lives there is sex. And there should be a caution taught to teens about those things being easily confused and overlapped. Fear can turn to excitement and that to sex and fear overlaps sex in things like “what if we get caught?” moments which leads to more risky behavior which leads to fear and more excitement. But the fear can start with something non-sexual such as government overstep and economic collapse. The whole excitement about Near death experiences and the fear of the unknown about death obviously was added to these other fears at these conferences. Power is also exciting. It’s a great mixing pot of fears and excitements. Of course people are gonna have sexual feelings after all that. It is completely predictable. Smart con artists will ride that wave. Less attentive people will follow along. Skeptical people can avoid the trouble altogether. Be skeptical. Question all your assumptions. Question religion, question the core beliefs of religion. You can still choose to believe in a deity without the human corruptions of organized religion-that’s fine and I can respect you. I don’t have to respect these corrupt religions or beliefs and cannot.

Great interview, thanks for coming back, Anna! Genuine question for everyone to consider: do you respect Chad and Lori's religious beliefs? I get the kumbaya at the end and I certainly believe in treating people with empathy. But my mind churns and churns on the idea of "respecting" all beliefs, even bad ones. And if you say, "well, of course not the bad ones", then I wonder, who decides? Who decides which beliefs are bad and which are ok? At what point do they tip on the scale from being unusual but harmless, to awful? How do we quantify these things? Because if i asked Chad, we'd prob disagree on whether his beliefs were bad or good or deserve respect. And I myself have believed things I now consider harmful and awful, and I would guess Anna feels the same about some of her former beliefs. I'd love to hear people's philosophies on how they deal with this conundrum.

I actually have similar thoughts & concerns about the Catholic church. I was raised, as most Christian religions are, that their religion is the expression of what true followers of Christ should believe. Then you hear of hundreds of years of abuse of women and children, not only in the US but in Ireland with unwed mothers and you have a current church that continues to try to sweep all these transgressions under the rug. But if I got divorced I'm no longer able to take communion, but thousands of church hierarchy abuse, rape, and murder and they're just moved from parish to parish and the abuses are denied over and over again until there is undeniable proof and then it's let's pay a small 'restitution' and swear everybody to secrecy...but by gawd don't let two women marry and raise healthy happy children for it is a sin. Eff that BS. One thing I see, as a skeptical person, with LDS beliefs, where common folk can have visions and such, is this opens the way for a loooooooooot of gullibility making Chads and Loris rise to the status they achieved fairly easily.

@@purpleslurple5149 i think you've hit on the real question. The still (דמ) voice isn't some deep thought that pops into your head. It's actually an audible voice. You can hear it clearly, but it's as if someone whispered in your ear using only breath rather than vocal cords. There are a variety of spiritual gifts. I can't speak about all of them, but visions became my gift when I was young. I didn't ask for it and it certainly surprised me. Nothing I've heard from these people resembles the gifts of God. If they have called on spirits, it's most likely that evil spirits responded. The word "John" is from the Hebrew יענה and it is "the beginning of the response of God." It is experienced by those walking very close to Jesus. Sometimes he answers your questions.
