@@kateashby3066I suspect that she’s always been Daddy’s girl. Which in a more normal family could be quite charming but not with Daybell as a father. His brother's hostility on the stand towards law enforcement who were simply trying to solve the murder... of CHILDREN.... was not a good look. He didn't do himself any favors there.
It sounds like that church all the people there have some level of mistrust of law enforcement, doctors etc....often a sign of cults...they enforce that mistrust so it isolates the people and that could be why Emma and Jo mistrust the police.
If it was their kids they d be begging the police for help and if they are now living in fear they may need the help of law enforcement sooner than they think to protect them and the house and land especially that people are so upset with the lack of empathy and respect to Tammy JJ and Tylee. @@DMJ160 Yes. I said it that way (died) because even if she doesnt believe her mother was murdered, there is no question that Tylee and JJ were -- and were buried there. That would be enough to not want to live there or bring my children there to live.

This was cathartic. My brother was part of a satanic panic trial in 89-90 and this is the first time I have ever heard someone speak publicly about how the community treats the whole family like they are in trial. Thank you.
The craziest part for me is that they and their coven actually believed in Chad and Lori as prophets. It’s startling for the sane to comprehend, but when you accept that, you can easily see how they were acting by the pool. They actually believed the bullshit.
I believe this, too. I’ve seen it too many times. In addition, Joe Murray did not have to testify. If he didn’t read the evidence, he shouldn’t have testified.
@@janetshemaryahu5529if anything, his testimony helps the prosecution for his attitudes towards the prosecution and the local police who were/are doing their jobs. How could you stay in that house, and have your own children playing in the yard where other children had been buried?!
@TheShmoo1243 exactly…and she has no problem taking the life insurance money from Tammy or taking Tammy’s care she uses everyday. Yet she says “I’m not like Colby.” What a loser of a person.
You can tell Dawson is a stand up guy. I admire him for doing this interview. But, his brother Joe will never change his mind as long as he is with Emma. They will always be referred to as that family who’s dad killed children and buried them in the back yard and the whole Lori / Alex thing. The thing that really troubles me is she is a teacher and she has children of her own! That’s a big worry !
Now we will see if her blind obedience to the patriarch of the family will extend to her husband. She won’t handle it the way her mom did. It will be her way or highway as regards to her own family.

You never have to be embarrassed or in fear of telling the truth from your heart. Thank you, young man, for speaking up and I'm very sorry that you have been embroiled in this entire situation. Wishing you blessings always.
As a woman proud of her Calcasieu Parish (where Kay and Larry live) roots, it warms my heart to see how many people have embraced Kay, Larry, and every grieving family member and friend of the victims. My mom grew up just south of Lake CharlesI. We are taught to help our neighbors and I’m glad it extends halfway across the country. Thank you to Dawson, Heather and Matt Daybell, and everyone else who have called out the evil.
At Tammys funeral Chad told them Tammy was lazy. This from a man who's wife has been the primary breadwinner AND who had responsibilities with the publishing company as well. This reminds me so much of the Morphew daughters and their Dad.
I really doubt that just shaking your arm adds steps. Mine only adds a step when I geographically move. They are GPS driven I believe. So, I feel Emma made up so many lies about her Mom. I doubt she was going to bed before dinner. I doubt everything she accused her Mom of.
It’s really impressive how Dawson conveys so much love and support for his brother while still stating his own opinion honestly. Its refreshing to hear a more nuanced point of view
Dawson, thank you for giving a voice to your family. I must admit that Emma and Joe's testimony was difficult to watch and left me feeling confused and angry with them. Thank you for some perspective.
It’s crazy to me that Chad was shooting and burying a raccoon at the same time that Alex was burying Tylee, and they somehow managed to not see each other. (Sarcasm intended). But I do love that Chad’s text put himself at the scene even though he was “smart “ enough to turn of his location
The way Emma spoke of her mother reminded me of how Heather Daybell described how Chad's mother was treated by her boys and her husband. I believe the word Lazy was used to describe with of them.
It’s one thing to want to support your FIL; it’s quite another thing to have absolutely no compassion for Tyler and JJ, and to express so much disrespect for LE for doing their job. Something is off. Joe isn't so much supporting Emma as he is enabling her.
No, he’s supporting her..Emma shares the same behavior as far as no compassion for 2 kids buried on her dads property, her mothers murder and disrespect for law enforcement..
I think Emma knew the kids were buried back there long before the police found them. During the police car interview, she wasn’t surprised at all and she says something along the lines of “I wasn’t sure at first but then I studied more and now I know” which I’m assuming was about the whole killing the body/zombie thing.
I don't doubt had he not been stopped that would have happened. I'm very concerned to learn that she speaks to him everyday. This man is very dangerous as are those who buy into his belief system.

I think it’s hard for those of us who haven’t gone through this personally, to really understand what it’s like to be in Dawson’s shoes - when someone you love is so deeply involved in this. I understand his comment on Joe supporting his spouse. Chad’s involvement in these murders has affected so many people, including the Murray family. It’s so sad that so many innocent people have suffered from Chads crimes. Dawson, I’m so proud of you for speaking out. God bless you!
EXCELLENT! I was vocal about Joe after his testimony and needed this perspective. Thank you Dawson and Lauren. Dawson you were heard and my heart is with you and yours.
You’re not an accomplice because you are family and It’s wrong to threaten Emma or Joe. But I don’t think I could be friends with them either. Not because I think they are bad people, but because people this blind are frustrating to deal with.
If they're feeling shunned by people, they've only themselves to blame. People can be understanding that they're not responsible for the behaviour of other family members, but when you support that family member to the degree they are, then people are obviously going to be concerned. That's real life and naturally people will not want to associate with potential threats, especially to children. It belies a grandiose attitude to expect people to behave otherwise.
Tammy reminds me of my daughter; quiet, gentle, dependable, kind, funny, compassionate, self-sacrificing ... A rare jewel, indeed. I'm sure I would have loved to know her. Her worthless husband and kids have thrown her away like she didn't matter. She did matter!!! She gave life to those ungrateful kids!!! She fed her family; won the bread and probably cooked it, too. Lori seems like a nearly used-up flash-in-the-pan (alledged) black widow (in my opinion). Plastic. Fake. Shallow. No comparison. Chad is nuts. He gave up pure gold for fool's gold.
You are wrong about this. She was a nut too, following Chad. I only care about the innocent children who were murdered because of the Daybell family. ALL OF THEM!!
Dawson is super brave for speaking out. Thank you Lauren for reaching out to him. He has a compassionate soul. Many prayers for all affected by this tragedy. And prayers to Emma and Joe🙏🏼
This was a great interview. I am more than appalled that Chad would allow his children to testify in his trial. He is adding to their trauma and harm. I agree with comments that the death penalty has most likely influenced Emma. Thank you Dawson. That was courageous.
They are adults; Chad If no one from his family testified in his defense, it would be a bad look. My guess is that Prior thought it would be a good idea for family members to testify. Chad could have objected.
It reveals further depths of his self centeredness and lack of care for even his own children, with no thought of how all this will effect their lives on so many levels. He's utterly selfish without a shred of love or care for anyone.
Nice to see this young man is full of compassion and clearly integrity. I will never be able to wrap my head around how Emma and her husband can take the cold callus approach they have. And never will I be able to understand how they can stay in the house her mother was murdered in along with 2 innocent children. There has got to be something fundamentally wrong with them.
I wanna throw a theory out there regarding why Chad felt it important to tell Emma to move the mattress (whilst Chad was sitting in the back of the police vehicle). That mattress might have been a murder weapon - after listening to defense's witness who said more than one person is needed to squash a person to death, what if Chad and Alex both sat on the mattress with Tammy underneath it? This method of murder would leave no visible/obvious marks on her body. And it might explain why moving the Mattress bothered Chad when he realized he 'wasn't coming home' when his yard was being dug up by authorities.
Yes that mattress was definately used for something...Fancy asking Emma to move it..why?..Daddy's little princess who obviously has seen a chance to resemble Lori ..bleaching her hair😉..it's as though she wants Daddy to notice.
Thank you Dawson. I hope you’re feeling okay talking about this. It’s very hard. Lauren is a great person to talk with about it. Take care of yourself and your family
There are several different versions about what happened the night Tammy was murdered; none of them included Chad seeing Tammy die. In all accounts Chad woke up to a dead wife.
I think it’s important to realize how many levels this has impacted the families. It’s important for Dawson to do what he can do to start healing himself. I cannot even begin to fathom what they have been through.
Lauren, I'm not sure if I have ever commented before, even though I have been a Gem since day one, when you and Dr. John were sitting at your kitchen table. You are such a wonderful person. Your empathy as well as your trustworthiness ALWAYS shines through. And this is why I have seen your channel grow and grow and why people who have never spoken before trust you enough to sit down and speak with you. Thank you so much for all you and Dr. John do!
Another heart felt interview, Lauren! Dawson, my heart goes out to you & family members who do not align with Chad's religious beliefs. Thank you for attending the trial & speaking up. Dawson seems to be holding back tears... Dawson, you found the right channel to speak out on. ✌️💙💪
This is a prefect example of the distruction of the familys distantly connected to this case .... the destruction, anger and sadness this has caused and the distance it goes is truly heartbreaking!!
Awww he's wonderful for actually listening and watching and going with the facts. I can understand why Emma wants to remain in denial. I hope she sees the truth someday and i think he was very respectful to everyone in his and Emma's family
The peer pressure and shame that comes with that kind of confrontation in a normally safe space might be a good way to get Emma to Joe to have compassion for JJ and Tylee. When endangered kids are missing, extreme measures are necessary.
@@annjacobs1298 Yea, they should have been more extreme and actually asked them every single day. Church seems to be a place where child murderers and abusers go to hide. Let’s not let it be a safe space for criminals. Let it be a safe place for children.

@@michelleberrocal9090after Emma’s testimony it started me thinking that as soon as Chad told her “I’m not coming back” Emma began taking on the mindset “hmmm, dad was Christ’s chosen one so if in this world dad is going to prison, or maybe executed, maybe I should be the one to step in his place and let Jesus anoint ME as the chosen one to lead the 142k”. I see Emma as using all this to create her own cult and she as its leader.

I'm the opposite of most people. I thought she was complicit long ago and didn't have much sympathy for her. After her testimony I did have some sympathy, she is so screwed up. Emma is the classic golden child of the narcissist parent. He’s trained her to be loyal to him since she was little and he realized she was a lot like him.
@@kateashby3066I suspect that she’s always been Daddy’s girl. Which in a more normal family could be quite charming but not with Daybell as a father. I do feel sad for the kids, shame on Chad for causing such harm to his entire family. Hopefully their eyes will be opened soon, but not holding my breath.
Chad may have coached Emma, but EMMA's the one who made that sinful choice.
Emma too. Joseph should not trust her.
Makes him look suspicious to me.
That made my blood boil!
Yes! Hopefully he never calls them for help. He doesn’t deserve any assistance from law enforcement
If it was their kids they d be begging the police for help and if they are now living in fear they may need the help of law enforcement sooner than they think to protect them and the house and land especially that people are so upset with the lack of empathy and respect to Tammy JJ and Tylee. It seems very shocking and Emma seems like a zombie like her dad. It was very strange to witness Chad and Emma I have never heard anyone talk like that before and if I did i d be keeping well clear of them JMO
I would never let Emma teach my children
Same. Garth either.
Oh, I feel the same! I’d be wondering what she’s rating my child!
I felt like Garth acted kind of “ simple minded” and his voice was like a sing song thing. Idk, feel sorry for all those kids. They’ve been brainwashed!
@@SusanNexusEspecially since he married one of his former students. Creepy.
@@CuteTexasToadshe what?! That's very upsetting, where did you learn about that?
Emma IS a joke! The way she maligned and disrespected her own mother in front of the whole world! She has no compassion or respect for her mother and she made that abundantly clear on the stand! To be able to do that is in her!
Emma ONLY knows what Chad has told her.
Emma has zero common sense. Common sense is not common
I say Emma had some part in what her dad did
@@deborahsmouse368I agree. I believe she knew whre the kids were. She said “we walked around over there” but she didn’t notice anything. Meaning, she and her child walked around where JJ was buried, and she didn’t notice anything…it was a JJ sized hole, perfectly dug. She knew what that was.
It broke my heart!
Joe and Emma are living in that house for financial reasons???? I'd live in a tent before I'd live there! Two children were buried there. Her mother died there. Ugh!
Her mother was MURDERED there
@@DMJ160 Yes. I said it that way (died) because even if she doesnt believe her mother was murdered, there is no question that Tylee and JJ were -- and were buried there. That would be enough to not want to live there or bring my children there to live.
The house belongs to John prior now apparently
@@suemount6042I wonder when prior is going to give them the boot.
@@suemount6042 Not with a mortgage on it. He owns the equity, but Chad didn't own it outright to be able to give it away. Emma's family is living there to keep up mortgage payments; if it went into foreclosure, Prior wouldn't get a cent out of it. Likely Emma and Joe can't afford to pay the mortgage and a separate rent elsewhere for themselves.
Dawson says respect Joe and Emma…sorry I cannot give ANY respect to Emma. She gave no respect to her mother while on the stand and has NEVER shown one ounce of sorrow for JJ and Tylee.
Dawson seems like a sweet guy but I agree w/ you. Her treatment of her mother's memory is heinous. Time will not change their hearts.
Exactly!!!! She basically pissed on her mother’s grave and memory and they deserve all the public pushback they get. I wonder if facts over time will make them put their pride aside and wake up from the spell of Chesus Daybell.

Ahhh well done Dawson. Brave man with heaps of integrity. You’ve done the right thing here. Thank you - I hope the rest of your family are proud of you, as they should be.
This was cathartic. My brother was part of a satanic panic trial in 89-90 and this is the first time I have ever heard someone speak publicly about how the community treats the whole family like they are in trial. Thank you.
Wow! We need to hear your story/journey. I bet that experience was super traumatic, I’m glad this was cathartic for you
Chad and Lori caused sooooo much pain for so many people. Heart wrenching pain. Life changing pain.
All for their own lust and delusion.
The craziest part for me is that they and their coven actually believed in Chad and Lori as prophets. It’s startling for the sane to comprehend, but when you accept that, you can easily see how they were acting by the pool. They actually believed the bullshit.
They've destroyed so many lives, which will have a snowball effect for a very long time, they've so much to answer for!
And neither of them has one ounce of mercy remorse or apology
It just feels so unfair. Why ??
Dawson Murray your brother Joe will never change as long as he stays married to Emma Daybell who justifies murdering 2 children and her mother
He’s doing further harm to his children by allowing her to continue to cover for her father’s crimes. That’s an extremely dysfunctional, unsafe family situation to raise children in! How could you stay in that house, and have your own children playing in the yard where other children had been buried?!
And Emma and her husband took the money Cad was giving out to them.
@TheShmoo1243 exactly…and she has no problem taking the life insurance money from Tammy or taking Tammy’s care she uses everyday. Yet she says “I’m not like Colby.” What a loser of a person.
Exactly. I so hope he gets counseling, outside the LDS church of course, then finds a way to get his children away from her
You can tell Dawson is a stand up guy. I admire him for doing this interview. But, his brother Joe will never change his mind as long as he is with Emma. Chad is a druving force on Emma and Emma is the driving force on Joe. Both of them lied, I get Joe is wanting to support his wife, but to what length? Joe knows the difference between right and wrong, his attitude on the stand was erroneous!! However the public is treating them is a situation they brought on themselves. THEY put that target on themselves!! Anyway, great job Dawsin!!
Imagine, too, that they’re raising three more little chad daybells, will this crime be committed again in the future? Or at the least, continue grandpa’s cult, because she and those kids will certainly visit him as much as possible, and he will lead them from prison.
I don’t agree that Joe is ONLY supporting Emma- that dude H@TES law enforcement. He really believes they set up Chad. He’s not too bright, but he’s doing what HE thinks is right.
@@MissMolly3377Hopefully by the grace of god he cannot continue his coercion & teaching from prison, and he gets the death penalty. The thing I worry about like you is the messed up daughter Emma fighting for dads beliefs to continue after he is gone. This kind of thing is indoctrinated into them and really they are a lost cause.I would think that damage has been done to Emma’s family’s reputation and the family will suffer because of this.
It was shocking to hear Emma say no one should ever have an autopsy.
I think Dawson is projecting his compassion on Joe and Emma. Joe and Emma don't have it.
I didn't hear all all their testimonials but I really didn't notice Joe saying anything as bad but I did pick up on how programed and coached by her father she was.. Joe may have been too. I just didn't notice it that much with him is all..

Emma saying Tammy practically cheated with her fitbit against the Murray's didn't need to be said!! So disrespectful!
At Tammys funeral Chad told them Tammy was lazy. This from a man who's wife has been the primary breadwinner AND who had responsibilities with the publishing company as well.

Sad that Emma is willing to purged herself. Not an LD S virtue
It’s crazy to me that Chad was shooting and burying a raccoon at the same time that Alex was burying Tylee, and they somehow managed to not see each other. (Sarcasm intended). But I do love that Chad’s text put himself at the scene even though he was “smart “ enough to turn of his location
Pretty telling when you can't find where Dumbbell is that day.
Chad put himself at the scene of the crime with that text!
The way Emma spoke of her mother reminded me of how Heather Daybell described how Chad's mother was treated by her boys and her husband. I believe the word Lazy was used to describe with of them.
Dawson spoke more fondly about Tammy than her own children did.
Amen
Right now, while these kids are in denial, they are seeing their mother through their father’s eyes.
Thank you for speaking up Dawson and supporting Kay and Larry!
I agree I think all Chad's children especially Emma and Garth are more deeply implicated in at least the cover up of his crimes.
I think she was a cult member and a part of the entire murder process.
I agree
I think he told her in the AM when the police were there searching and he was at Emma’s for hours.
It’s very scary that Emma is ok with her dad rating kids as dark since she has kids. I wonder if she would rate her own children.
I don't doubt had he not been stopped that would have happened. I'm very concerned to learn that she speaks to him everyday. This man is very dangerous as are those who buy into his belief system.
I can see Emma drumming up support for Chad even if he is found guilty! Shes never going to change!
He's gonna have a 100% truthful take on this tragic situation. Life has a way of rewarding an honest person. His courage will bring blessings.

I think it’s hard for those of us who haven’t gone through this personally, to really understand what it’s like to be in Dawson’s shoes - when someone you love is so deeply involved in this. Yes I didnt feel too good about Joe either, but fr sure his brother makes it a bit clearer. Independent thought makes a big difference❤
You’re not an accomplice because you are family and It’s wrong to threaten Emma or Joe. But I don’t think I could be friends with them either. Not because I think they are bad people, but because people this blind are frustrating to deal with.
Agree with you!
Yes very frustrating people are acting like those kids were not buried in The Daybells backyard
It's wrong to threaten anyone but Joe and Emma don't deserve any support.
Oh, they’re bad. Some people are just inherently bad and not safe to be involved with in any way or even in close proximity to.

This was a great interview. I am more than appalled that Chad would allow his children to testify in his trial. He is adding to their trauma and harm. I agree with comments that the death penalty has most likely influenced Emma. Thank you Dawson. That was courageous.
Chad doesn’t care about anyone but himself. So what if it hurts his children.
I think Emma is a true believer and overly attached to her father. She hardly acts like a grown woman.
They are adults; Chad
If no one from his family testified in his defense, it would be a bad look. My guess is that Prior thought it would be a good idea for family members to testify. Chad could have objected.
It reveals further depths of his self centeredness and lack of care for even his own children, with no thought of how all this will effect their lives on so many levels. He's utterly selfish without a shred of love or care for anyone.
He killed their mother; safe to say he’s not concerned about their wellbeing.
Thanks for bring him on, and thanks to Dawson Murry. His courage to speak up will go a long way toward healing many hearts.
Not everyone is wondering that. It was very brave of you to come foward. It's a difficult dynamic. God bless you.
Fundamental being key …
I wanna throw a theory out there regarding why Chad felt it important to tell Emma to move the mattress (whilst Chad was sitting in the back of the police vehicle). That mattress might have been a murder weapon - after listening to defense's witness who said more than one person is needed to squash a person to death, what if Chad and Alex both sat on the mattress with Tammy underneath it? This method of murder would leave no visible/obvious marks on her body. And it might explain why moving the Mattress bothered Chad when he realized he 'wasn't coming home' when his yard was being dug up by authorities.
Absolutely!!
I didn’t recall anything about a mattress…
Yes that mattress was definately used for something...Fancy asking Emma to move it..why?..Daddy's little princess who obviously has seen a chance to resemble Lori ..bleaching her hair😉..it's as though she wants Daddy to notice.
Maybe something to do with Alex DNA is on it…
I thought the same regarding the mattress but more so that it's where she was killed in the comfy cone where it's soundproof

I don’t think it’s inappropriate to ask about missing or murdered children at church. In fact, that’s a good place to ask.
The peer pressure and shame that comes with that kind of confrontation in a normally safe space might be a good way to get Emma to Joe to have compassion for JJ and Tylee. When endangered kids are missing, extreme measures are necessary.
