I suspect that the change in upper is due to the Nike lawsuit. I liked the 1080v12 sock-like feel but that specific model is cited by Nike as infringing their patent(s). I've seen a lot of 1080v13 reviews and am contemplating buying a pair though the price is a problem for me. I have a 1080v12 and a More v3 for recovery and they have a ton of life left on them. I have an additional More v3 in the box in the basement. My daily trainer is the 880v12 which is a great daily trainer. One thing that I love abouth the 1080v12 is that it's about a size longer and 1-2 sizes wider than True-To-Size. I have to war a 12 4E on the 880v12 and 880v10 but I can wear 11 4E on the 1080v12 and More v3. The 1080v12 4E feels more like a 6E. I try to buy 6E shoes if it's an option. So your blistering problem might be solved by going up half a size. New Balance varies their sizing from version to version and I'm sure that it drives a lot of runners crazy which is why the sizing information is critical for me when buying. I would be happy to buy another 1080v12 at current discounted prices and hope to snag a 1080v13 on Black Friday or in the early spring sales. I paid about $70 for the 880s and about $75 for the More v3. I really like the 1080v12 and More v3 for recovery.
Thanks for the comment. The price is fairly steep - the v12s are honestly and epic shoe and as you mentioned, they feel a bit wider. Thanks for the tip about the blisters - I’ve run about 200kms in the v13s now and they have softened up quite a lot, perfect for long runs and I don’t get any skin irritation thankfully. If you have a DFO or factory outlet near you I’d suggest going there if they have a new balance store - I picked up some v12s for very cheap there recently! Connor
@@PeakStride The Factory Outlets don't carry 4E. They told me that I'd have to go to one of the Boston retail stores to find that width. So I just scan the online sites for my size. It's apparently a common size as it's very hard to find.
how u liking em now since? i think ud like the 880's. i havent ran in the 1080v12, only tried it on at a store. but the 880v13's feel so good on the feet. i also got the 1080v13's and the 880's feel way more cozy. their a versatile daily trainer and u can do uptempo runs in them too with the 10mm drop so ul get that propulsion since it seems like u like that
I’ll do a YT short this week as I’ve run 200kms in them now - overall they feel much better once worn in. I’ll have to keep an eye out for some 880’s - thanks for the tip!
Yes they lasted a really long time - the shoes were still good but the bottom of the outsole where the toes are wore through to the midsole and now they’re in shoe heaven

More v3 is an awesome shoe, no need for these 👍
Thanks for the review. I learnt your prejudice of old men, when oneday you will be one too.
No prejudice here
I’m noticing problems as well, feet are killing me - the insole sucks and there is no arch on this shoe so plantar fasciitis will be bad
Yes I agree. A bit uncomfortable out of the box - after 100kms they have softened a bit but we will see how long they last!

@@PeakStride sounds good, great video , let me know how the bottoms of your feet do in these? Compared to other shoes anyhow -

Thanks for the review. I will pick up an extra pair or two of the V12 for Black Friday. I like them too! - did you say 2600 km for your old V12s?
Yes they lasted a really long time - the shoes were still good but the bottom of the outsole where the toes are wore through to the midsole and now they’re in shoe heaven
It's very obvious that these shoes are not for tempo workouts... I Don't know why you bother mention it!
Going the 880 way
Interesting - Thoughts on the 880's?
I'm just not a New Balance guy. Asics & Brooks for me
Big fan of the Brooks glycerine!

Not a difference that would matter in any way.
