Another big change, v12 was a big improvement from the 10 and 11s with that ridiculous heel counter, and attempts to make them firmer. V12 was so good, now I fear they've gone too far. Glad I watched your review, going to stock up on another pair of 12s.
V13s are absolutely horrible. Developed achilles pain on both legs for the first time, which disappeared shortly after I switched to another brand. The V12s were perfect shoes, never had any issue/pain.
I've run in the 1080s for years and like them. I've been having an issue with my right calf. I'm told lower or zero drop puts more strain on the calf. I like the 1080 v12 as it has 8mm drop. I'm concerned about the v13 with only 6mm drop. Your thoughts?
I like v12 so much that I bought 15 pairs of v12 (almost all the colors) and when the v13 released I tried it for 15 minutes and I directly returned it to its box. Why ? I felt the heat and tightness in my foot
You've been saying that v13 is not suitable for more frequent running since the foam needs some time to recover. Is it the same for v12? I'm really looking forward to have one max cushion shoes in my rotation
Thanks so much for the positive feedback @sanjaychiba6073! The stack height we received from Brooks and measured ourselves with our digital calipers was 28mm in the heel and 22mm in the forefoot. We have also seen what other reviewers stated and we feel the shoe most definitely runs and feels more similar to a 28mm and 22mm drop rather than 36mm+. We feel this stack height was measured on the outside of the midsole rather than the inside and on top of the innersole as stated by World Athletics. The World Athletics guidelines must be followed by all brands when manufacturing a shoe (in particular race day shoes) so that they fall within the rules and regulations around stack height. We follow this guideline when measuring all of our shoes, not just carbon-plated race day shoes, as it is important to have an overall perspective on where each shoe fits in the market. Here's our video on how we and World Athletics measure stack height if you wanted to watch! 😁 ruclips.net/video/Y7gQY5H5Pl0/видео.html Hope this helps and Happy Running 🏃🏽
Thank you, what a great detailed answer! I have been doing most of my runs almost exclusively in max cushion shoes for the last 2 years. I might give these a go - hopefully it’s a bit more nimble and flexible than what I have been running in of late
Does the ride of the 1080v13 feel better than the clifton 9? I enjoyed the clifton 9, but felt the upper especially in the wide version to be a bit sloppy.
I’ve had quite a few 1080s and just bought the next version as my size was sold out everywhere for the v12s… the v13 is terrible. Much tighter across the top of the foot, causing numbness in the toes & offers no support for supination. I wish I could get v12s again but I’ll have to head into store to be fitted for a completely different shoe 😢
Many thanks... This is a tricky one... Like all mileage estimates. If the shoe has a couple of days between runs and is used for 15-20 miles a week.... Then 300-350 miles should be around the mark. If used for lets say 25+ miles a week and the midsole is not allowed to rest, then potentially 200 miles might be the mark. Dependent on the runner (BMI, strike pattern etc) and also surface they are being used on will determine the lifespan of the shoe. I think its a perfect recovery run shoe.... easy 30-45 mins and throw in a long run once a week, this 1080 is the perfect complimentary shoe in ones 2-3 shoe rotation. Happy Running, Josh
Hi Shannon, No problems with orthotics, but of course it does depend on the insert. More around the heel lift thats been added. This can at times make the feel cup/counter a challenge to lock down. But for the most part the 1080v13 has taken orthotics well. The version 12 was solid, but to be honest there were better options out there for orthotics. The flexible upper didn't keep the foot locked down on the orthtic like we would have hoped. Still OK but depends on the runners cushioning requirements, the speed of transition through total ground contact tim and of course the orthotic in question. I woul have confidence suggesting the V13 over the V12 for orthotics. Thanks again for watching and sending through your question. Happy Running, Josh
I have the old 1080. I wore this with my orthotic in a 8D. However, I recently got fitted for the V13 and I was advised to go up a half size to the 8 1/2 D. Can anyone tell me with version did the length change? .
Okay, I'm so disappointed in the V13s. This is due to way too much coushion. The shoe cuses a repercution effect on my hips, legs, and knees. I feel like im wearing springs and not good ones at that.

Why do these companies always screw good shoes. V12 was perfect. Imma have to stock up on the v12
Very nice video. Which one do you recommend for heavy runner 110 kg and wide foot?

2mm? Seriously 😳

I have the v11 and I hated the heel .. is the v12 better ?? and worth picking up? There on sale now
thanks very much!!
Great review as always. Just wanting to confirm the midsole stack height. Other reviews I have seen say it’s a 38mm/32mm stack?

love the v12,... for me,.. i's almost perfect shoe for easy/training runs
This in line directly w/ the Triumph 20/21?

Is the v13 even less heavy than the v11 ?1 i loved the v11 and I can't wait to try the 2023 1080 !
Great technical review, how many miles do you think these could last to? Thanks,

nice one champ !
How are they with fitting in orthotics? Any difference with the two models?

.
Is this just a bit higher stacked More v3?
which one has the WIDER toe box?
It is like night and day. Like More v3 and More v4 - bricks and clouds.
You think the More 3 is a "brick"??????? It's one of the most comfy shoes EVER! Ultraboost 19 was a brick.
I have the 1080V12 but it feels like a ZERO DROP.. Does the 13 feel like a higher drop?
It's even lower broseph
I have the 1080V12. I got it half size down.. Is the 13 same fit?
Same question.
I’ve used the v12s for every run, so this is closer to a recovery shoe now from v13? :(
V12 is a far better looking shoe..
much more handsome.
V13 has my left heel dropping backwards and left and is clumbsy

Outsole looks like a ALTRA.
la cagaron con la version 13 mucho mejor la anterior
