Agree here Fordy, somehow ended up with a pair myself and they feel amazing, can’t believe how good that EVA midsole feels compared to old Fresh foam models
Yeah with you
Somehow? Bot? Also day after release, okay.
Ran in them once and ordered a second pair when I finished. They're amazing. Saving my bad knees.
How are the shoes doing?
@mjwhite5811 what did you think?
400+ miles on my V12 without even noticing. Thought it was beginning to feel a little dead, but I probably walked another 400+ in them too as they are just so comfortable. Time for a replacement I think, although maybe not a white/cream version with winter ahead.
Love the matching socks❤
💯 agree!!! Hopefully they release some nicer spring colorways.
Can't wait to get my pair I ordered in this same bright sky color. This will be my 3rd 1080 model ( had the 9th and 11th ) for me.
Enjoy
I had the 1080 v11, I think the wider option was not the right choice and the upper might have been to stretchy. Deffinitely looking at the v13 or the more v4/v5.
I've had the v12 for over a year as my daily trainer and have just retired it with well over 800 km of use after feeling the cushioning was going - the upper on it still looks good, so I'm using it as a bit of a knock-around trainer. A pity to hear the grip on the v13 isn't quite as good. I will have to weigh up the options when it's actually released.
I watched a thousand reviews of the NB 1080v13. I’m really thrilled to try them myself. My local running store recommended the NB Fuelcell Propel as daily trainer but I’m not really happy for my long runs. Another show, I’m considering, is the Clifton 9. What do you think in comparison?
propel rocks but these are much more daily focussed
I tried on a pair of 1080 v13 yesterday. Love the new look. However, the midsole is just way too soft. It was like a dough of flour under my feet. I was able to press the forefoot down and watch the midsole shifting left and right with very little effort. A bit scary really.
It’s soft for sure
Curious on the 6mm drop for a shoe that seems to be targetted as a daily trainer. 8mm for a daily seems like the most "democratic" number for the average runner. Although I seem to recall that NB seems to offer a large number of 6mm drops, so maybe that's just their preferred number. (Think 5mm for HOKA). I'm on team Nimbus 25 as my daily trainer of choice. 425KM on the shoe and ZERO concerns so far.
But I can see the allure for the 1080v13. Great review!
Hi Fordy! Have you tried the Vongo 6 yet? Is it a stability version of 1080??
Looking forward to them when I’ve got through all the V12 I’ve stockpiled in sale 😂. 1080 are my favourites I find they last a lot longer than any other shoes I’ve had and I always get well over 500km out of them.
Nice one!
I was really looking forward to these. I'm a 4E width and these are probably the best looking shoes in a 4E currently available. Got on the website this morning ready to buy a pair and, rather disappointingly, saw the colourways they've actually made in 4E are limited to black and white (obviously) and the blue. Seems dumb that they wouldn't make the flagship colourway in all sizes. I found a pair of v12s for half price in my size and got those instead. Was only willing to fork out for the cool ones.
They will come I reckon
Let's hope so. Notably they now seem to have removed everything but standard width from their website. @@FordyRuns
I had the 11s. Still do. Probably my highest milage shoe.. But the foam is dead on them now and need something new.. Torn between these and a few other options
This will most likely replace my More v4 after it's retired. Thx, Chris.
Welcome
I've bought the more v4 and v13 online and find the toebox on the v13 to be very cramped compared to the more v4. I'd prefer the look of the v13 cos I only use them for walking around, but the V4 seems far more comfortable for my regular, perhaps even slightly narrow, feet. Of course you can never really tell exactly how you'll feel until you go for a proper walk, but then you can't return them.
Just Got This shoe and im just walking around in Them at Home before going Running …coming from the sc trainer v1 This feels tighter and more snug on my feet… however the upper seems much more flexible..
does the 1080v13 usually “break in” and loosen a bit up? (The sc trainers upper is less flexible but molded differently but i dont see it giving me more room) my foot is normal width but to the wide side
Ignoring the price, this NB 1080 v12 or Novablast 3 for daily trainer?
Getting V12 for 90$. Will i take it or buy v 13 at full price?
I have flat feet and tend to overpronate. Would this fit me well for daily training?
Buy the stability shoe, asics kayano 31
At 4:51, is the front of the toe portion breaking apart already?
I found the 1080v12 wide too narrow in places . Any wide footed people here ?
How would you say they compare to the SC V2? Something you can do everything in like those?
nah different feeling shoe with the plate
The v12's felt hard and clunky to me. Not comfortable at all. I retired them after 150km. I hope these are softer
Same here, using them just for walks.
Any sites for V12 sales about now then?! lol
What socks are you wearing
Fantastic "walking" shoes, for daily wear.
Good morning. Interesting test. Like to Fordy. A nice weekend for everyone.
Same to you!
How is the energy return? Like Triumph 20?
Good
what pace would you recommend for this shoes
ive run all paces tbh
Those socks tho
BANGING
So, up 1/2 size?
1080 v13 vs Vomero 17?
how is 1080v13 vs Nimbus 25
Hi ! a quick question regarding the NB 1080 v13..... does the upper expend a bit lenghtwise ?
I’ve purchased these in my regular size for my first marathon, but my big toe is close to the end on my left foot (which is quite longer than my right one). I’ve just done a quick test and I could feel my big toe slightly touching the end of the toebox when I ran, I was wondering if it does extend a bit with time.I have very narrow foot so I think it wouldn’t be a good option to go up half a size.
let me know if you think this could work or if you think these could be too short for Marathon distance :)
There is just something about NB shoes that do not excite me?? I always find myself purchasing other brand offerings and this is another that doesn't make me think I must have it. My next purchase in the coming week is going to be the Boston 12 to replace my Glideride 3's as they've now got over 450 miles on them so decided its time to retire the old girls
Boston 12 rocks
Durability should be a deal breaker in daily trainers. From the comments it sounds a bit too soft for me. Still loads of life in my Velocity Nitro 2s
Velocity 3 looks awesome btw
Time for a Vs video with the other plush daily trainers…
On its way
It's lighter than the competition.
Heel is super wobbly
Let's be realistic. The price of this shoe will drop from current 190 € (which is intelignece test, same like with Asics Nimbus, you pay, you fail). I paid 117 € for NB More V4. And that much I'm ready to pay for this one if I'm buying it. Although I don't know if I need it since I have More V4. It's the same foam and More is probably more stable due to width.
Both shoes are for easy runs.
You will not be breaking any PBs in 1080 despite being lighter than More.
Btw I don't know why this shoe is suddenly premium shoe. Just look at this boring design.
That's premium? You must be kidding me. Oh btw, you can buy now SC racer for 183 € and this shoe is really very good. And looks awesome.
The pricing of 1080 makes no sense.
It’s defo expensive no denying
Unfortunately too soft for me. Maybe for super easy recovery runs only. It’s just too squishy. Fantastic for standing but feels like I’m putting too much effort to get through my stride on the 1080v13 when running under 5 min/km. But it will sell tons due to the soft midsole. Much better than v12 IMO
I should add I’m a heel striker so my perception of the squishy midsole might be due to my form. I prefer the triumph for that but if a firmer more responsive feel
Defo a softer mix than v12
Defo a softer mix than v12 I’d go for the Truimph 21
More V5 is a big ❓ now...
I’d take these
My only issues with the whole 'I was provided these for free but I don't have to say anything good about them blah blah blah' is that the bottom line is that you are getting running shoes for FREE.... you aren't paying for your running shoes but the rest of losers have to. Getting all your shoes for free MUST have some sort of psychological effect on your review. Just my 2 cents.
Not me I don’t care … others maybe but I don’t care hence I don’t get shoes from some brands. Just watch our last video on a pair of 361 shoes … make your own mind up but I am ok with it coz I say anything I like
It's too expensive.
its a lot of money
not a fan of the look....
Am I the only one who thinks the colorways on the new v13 are extremely bland and not appealing to the eye?
100% agreed... thank God im ok with all black, daily, walking shoes. So far i'm dissapointed (wish we got the black/blue version like the v12).
@@Kenny_PL the v12s had some nice colorways!
Agreed it's all too plain and boring hence why I've just ordered the red colorway from NB UK site to make me excited. It'll be my first pair of red shoes too wish me luck 🤣
This is a bad shoe for me…midsole is so soft..no energy return whatsoever..No stability, my ankles are caving inwards. Just buy the version 12 instead👎👎
880 v14 blows this shoe away
Really ok I’ll try
How would you compare it to the Glideride 3?
these are alot softer
