After watching this review i purchased this shoe and I tried this NB 1080 v13 in my first 42km LSD , over all comfort 9/10 best shoe for LSD and easy days for me. I have a wide forefoot size 8.5 and i choose size 9 to have extra space because there's no available wide size
As a heavier 200lb runner these things are a godsend. I'm not fast so i don't need them for that, i need those slow plodding miles to feel protected and to take care of my joints. They're so so good for that. I hated the V12, they felt like bricks compared to the V13.
How have they held up over time? I’m 225 and durability is a concern of mine as I just chewed through my Mizuno Wave Rider 27s. I’m at 250 miles and already feeling like it’s getting close to time to move on.
@@DaveyKnavey I've only had them since February or March of this year, I only run 2-3 times a week on average (give or take depending on my weight lifting routine) and they're still in great shape. The one complaint I have with them is they run hot. My feet were like swamps when I was done so I took scissors to the upper and cut some small holes throughout. 😂 They're not the prettiest now, but there's much better air flow!
As a long time NB runner for my road shoes I was a hoping to hear good things, thankfully they’ve delivered and the review really helped. With wide voluminous feet the 2e fit (other brands take note) are my to. One pair on order. :) Thanks The Run Testers.
Thank you for mentioning the preferred paces for the shoe, Tom! It makes it much easier to work out if it's the right shoe for our needs. Everyone's version of easy, tempo etc is different, so the actual pace is super helpful.
I think that that is the point of saying a shoe is for “x” effort, instead of just naming pace intervals. Otherwise Pro/College runners would be wearing carbon plates on their easy runs.
Agree@@yahinkie9532 , but if a runner doing a far slower pace for easy runs finds the pace for their marathon (for example) is still within the sweet spot for their easy run shoes, then they may not need to worry about getting a 'race day' shoe. They already have a pair for their needs. Tom, mentioning the sweet spot told me that I could basically to all my running in a pair of 1080s, based on my expected marathon pace.
Good timing: night before launch. What's the fit in width, length and height compared to the 1080v12? I like the 1080v12 and this sounds more like the More v3 which sounds interesting. It should be interesting to see what the More v5 is like as I'd expect them to put this foam in that.
Just received mine, super comfortable upper that fits true to size. The midsole is super soft and not the least bit responsive , at least for my weight of 185 lbs. Drop feels about 4 mm, and I will be using these as a lifestyle , walking shoe. If you want something plush and responsive, nothing touches the Triumph 21. These would be very good for slow 🐌 runs, but anything up tempo you really do just sink into the fresh foam x
@chrismiranda5648 did even read what was written ? I said they would be fine for slower pace runs. Long short, but anything up tempo to workouts, they fall short. That is my opinion. If you feel different, then kudos to you. Enjoy the shoes.
I'm one of those people who mostly like the V12 but could use a bit more cushioning in the forefoot for long runs, but also unfortunately couldn't use the more V4 because of blisters. Hopefully the 1080 b13 will sit in that sweet spot in between. I guess we'll see.
The Puma Magnify Nitro 2 is hard as a rock, Cloudsurfer I see the comparison but the Puma is so hard and also feel a bit weird about it because everyone was bashing the cloudmonster and most of On shoes for not being soft enough and saying this Puma shoe as a daily/easy day shoe, I tried it a couple days ago Idk how is that better if looking for a softer shoe. ( This is incomparison with On and Puma)
Are you all saying that these shoes are not that versatile, but I'm expecting that they have the potential to be much more versatile and quicker than my Gel-Nimbus 25, right ?!
Hi! I've been doing my research before I pull the trigger on this pair. I've tried it on and it feels very comfortable together with the Cloud Monster, and Bondi 8. I'm a nurse and need a good trainer for a 12-16-hour shift. Would you recommend this pair for long-standing hours or just go with the other models I've mentioned? Thanks.
It seems the sizing of New Balance shoes just isn't very consistent. I got the advice to size down in the 1080 v12, and it was spot on. Same for the More v4. I wear my normal running size in fuel cell shoes though.
Wondering the same thing. The t21 is my favourite shoe, ever. Unbelievable comfort. I've been looking for competition to it and the V12s are closest ...
Compared to the t20 it is a night and day difference in terms of cushion. My t20s are stiff in comparison, but not stiff in a bad way. Can feel my foot sink in just walking, I'm 190lbs. I want to try it again with fresher legs, first run with them today and my calves were already sore prior. Had some aches in my foot I don't normally have, but my only shoe has been the t20 so maybe that's why. I didn't like it when I tried to pick up the pace compared to the t20 today though
So weird, shows how everyone is different. I tried it in the store and it's definitely half a size short, same as all new balance i tried. This is interms of 1 thumbs width in front of my longest toe
I've been running road and trail for over 10 years now, and I also just bought a pair, and agree they are super soft and super comfortable, and will be my favorite road training shoe for the next 12 months. Good choice Mr J.

I’m also 200 pounds and am looking for a shoe for as you say slow plodding so thx for feedback

Did you try the fresh foam more?
@@justSTUMBLEDupon I haven't. If I didn't like the 1080 V13 as much, those were the next on the list.

@@yahinkie9532suppose you could say that some shoes are more geared toward certain paces - potentially due to mechanics or tech?
YES was waiting for Tom's review on this

Not accurate at all bud. I just picked these up this week and I’m 230lbs, runs have been just fine for both short and long runs.

Do you think this would be a good shoe for the marathon at the end of an Ironman. Will be running 4-5hrs

When did Jane move to you guys from RW?! Great review!

Can you do a comparison between this shoe and the Nike Vomero 17?
What are your pb/HM/M paces? Because you guys say 4:12 as easy long run pace. Thanks
Plush shoes is the topic and no mention of the Clifton 9 or Bondi 8? That seems strange.

Is it better then the More V3? (Not V4)
Just got the V12 for 64 usd. Can´t get better than that!
how does it compare to the saucony triumph 21?

Think i might get the rebel v4 instead of these. Any info on the release date of the rebelv4 out there yet?
So confused by NB sizing. I’m UK 8.5 in most brands and that’s apparently 27.5cm. In NB when I look it seems like 27.5cm is size 9 in their shoes!
same here, I had to go for 10.5 instead of my regular size 10.

Just bought these as my first running shoes, they were the comfiest of all the ones i tried on . SUPER SOFT
