    Everyone is different. There're people who love going to races with breakfast in their stomach and puke during or right after and say they gave it their all. Some do fine with it. I have never nor do I want to puke during or after a race and eating before any workout or easy run makes me feel heavy hours after. I do my runs fasted. Carb/glycogen/whatever loading is best done days before races or runs, not THE morning of. Stretch after runs as your muscles are properly warmed up. Doing it before if static will lead to injuries. This isn't rocket science.

    • @PeakStride
      @PeakStride 3 дня назад

      Different strokes for different folks. I certainly won’t be recommending people train fasted as I don’t actually know who watches this video, or what’s their training history is, or what their medical history is.

    I just spend 120 euros on my first ever pair of handball shoes and it's when i paid those and ordered my new running shoes shortly after where I realized: Fuck, this will get expensive. Though spending that much money on my court shoes I excused to myself by claiming: "if I spend more money now, I will spend less money over the next years, since the will last longer then cheaper ones"

    • @PeakStride

    "first up: fuelling" How tf am I doing the first thing wrong already? Then again, I mostly run to prep for my upcoming Handball season (which will, very excitingly be my very first season playing too). And since training is tuesdays and thursdays around my normal dinner time, I decide to cut having dinner before training, because it'll mess up my body's readyness to go out... maybe I should try out having a bit of a bite to eat from now on. Also: Maybe it's just the fact that I am in a fresh chapter of my life right now, or maybe it's to do with the fact that with the amount of running I did the last couple of weeks I've been as active as I haven't been since when my Ju Jutsu training came to an end about 3 years ago, but I just feel insanely good right now! And honestly: It's insane how much better it feels since I bought myself a pair of decent shoes. I used my old, beaten up, super stiff shoes when I started out (which I had since god damn 8th grade) and the amount of pain and cramping in my calves was crazy. With my new shoes I feel like I can't only go at more of a constant pace, but also I can just run without needing to slow down to look after my calves. I just recently successfully ran for 4km straight without having to walk during the run and I felt a sense of pride I didn't knew I would develope, when I first started out with preparing for the upcoming season. Don't get me wrong: I still just wanna get on the court and finally pick up a handball again, but running is way more rewarding then I imagined it to be

    • @PeakStride
      @PeakStride 5 дней назад

      Running is epic and extremely rewarding. Just you, your two legs and your mind 🤙🤙

  • @lukerobinson2893
    @lukerobinson2893 5 дней назад

    When you said stretching doesn't increase range of motion what do you mean by stretching. You then did mobility afterwards, which looked like stretching to me. What did you mean when you said stretching doesn't increase range of motion. I also do single leg lunges like split squats to stretch and idealy increase hip range of motion. Will that not help at all? sorry i was just confused by what you said.

    • @PeakStride
      @PeakStride 5 дней назад

      Stretching is passive over pressure. Mobility is utilising all active range of motion that you can produce with your own muscular force Eg. If I stand on one leg and lift the other towards my chest, I can get to maybe 110 degrees of hip flexion, but if I use my arms to hug my knee I can bring that knee upto to touching my chest which is 130 degrees. An active warm up with mobility drills would have more of an effect on range of motion than passive stretching - as the current evidence suggests. There is some small effect from stretching but it requires a LOT of stretching over long periods of time. I prefer mobility drills than stretching. But of course, if you have the time you would benefit from both.

    He seems to have zero clue about the 955. Looks a lot more like a marketing ad You have to customize a garmin once and need some time to do that. He obviously didnt do it. Also who pays 700 for a 955😂 If you customize it beats every other watch in functionality and usability. Even comparing it with Pace 3 is absurd😂. And I like Coros watches if only they wouldnt feel so cheap. Have now seen quite some stopping to work after a little over 2 years. This guy would do well getting rid of the fanboy good vs bad attitude. Its childish. Coros is a good brand but you dont just get a cheaper watch without paying for that also. Quality is way below near all garmin with the pace 3. They are not a small company by any means. Having Kipchoge and Ingebrigtsen as your posterboys shows that they are huge. I do like Coros focus on mip displays. Thats were Garmin and Polar right now imo goe into the wrong direction

    I think you may have made a mistake about the carb content of the SiS GO. I am holding the same SIS GO gel you showed in the video and reading the nutrition facts on the back: I see that the 36 grams of carbs are for 100grams of product, while for the single 60g packet there are only 22 grams of carbs. Among the gels I am using for training, it is the one with LESS carbohydrates. It also has almost zero sodium. After testing different brands for me the SiS Go is the worst, I get Maurten 160 for the carbs and Powerbar for the 200mg Sodium.

    I have an Apex 2. I was disenchanted with Garmin’s app and Coros’ is fantastic. I went the Apex over the Pace for the metal bezel and sapphire display as I’m pretty hard on it.

    I believe that salt substitutes are potassium salt. Maybe worth looking into. Great video thank you x

    I sprinted stairs, nonstop to the 8th floor 6 times 90s-120s rest. Did this every Sunday 3 weeks away from a timed 2.4km and went from a 10:20 to 9:40. Obviously did some easy runs other days and 5x1km and 10x400m some weeks but those same workouts did not produce such a fast change ever in previous years. Thus, only the Stair sprints was the new change and most likely the reason. Stair climbing is plyo as well.

      That’s absolutely epic! While I’m building my mileage I am spending a bit more time on hilly terrain for the same reason.

    After hearing about a lot of high profile academic scandals, I'm wary about a lot of studies. I'm not saying that plyos won't help, but it would of been cool if you showed the results on yourself. Maybe a part two to this video is needed.

      Sounds like a great idea to do a part 2 in 8 weeks time. Thanks Legend!
