I keep looking at her hair. So pretty and effortlessly styled ♥️
Also really enjoyed the video. Absolutely true words. Be grateful of all the small things you’ve even if it seems hard. Thats what keeps us going. Also cool editing Dr. Yoo. 👏
100% . to the first line and to the second line. grateful for all things - no matter the scale . thanks for highlighting the key point!
@@dr.johnyoo I can summarise if you have any video of an whole hour. academic speciality 😂
Oh man I see a beautiful hair but nothing effortless was bout that.
@@MzMontana thats a metaphor. I myself know how hard it is to maintain hair let alone style it like this. Sorry If I was not careful with my words :)
@@dr.johnyoo are we able to have Dr Sarang Choi on J Bro channel to share about her perspectives on other topics other than dentistry. It will be definitely something to look out too - surreal and insightful to see passionate souls together. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
After 25 years of practicing dentistry I can tell you that the profession has changed a lot. The best advise I got was from my mentor who was the owner of the practice I purchased. 1. You do not need to buy every new technology or new piece of equipment. 2. Save your money dont invest in things you dont understand 3. Dont own multiple dental offices, why would you want to multiply your stress levels? 4. Divorce is the worst thing that can happen to you as a professional. Spend quality time with your spouse and children. 5. Pay your staff well. They are backbone of your office. Good luck to you.
As a divorce attorney-- I agree. Good advice from your mentor!
Very well said.I’m a Dentist as well from the Philippines.
Thank you so much for having me Dr. Yoo! It was such a pleasure meeting you🥺 It almost felt surreal to see a person can radiate genuine good vibes🙌🏻 I enjoyed our little conversation and it definitely served as a reminder that happiness is uncovering what you already have. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!🎄✨
U guys have a great energy together 😜😜

@@Peaceful13 calm down, sarang is married to a wonderful guy already.
Yay! Been waiting for this! I love how Sarang talks about enjoying the process and being able to find happiness in the small things. Definitely something we can all work on ☺️
absolutely. couldnt agree with her (and you!) more. joy in the process, and gratitude for what we already have
Thank you for inviting Dr.Choi. I love her channel. She extremely inspired me to study hard and set the life goal!
Dentist from Hawaii - been practicing for 23 years. What you all are talking about having a positive attitude and finding joy is spot on. It's what keeps me going in the profession.
I am a dental student and I have been watching you both since 2 years now!!! This collab is EVERYTHING!!!!!
this started out seemingly specific to dentistry but ended up so generally relevant that it was exactly what I needed... life IS so hard sometimes; that's why the little glimpses of happinesses are so precious... thank you awesome doctors and have a merry Christmas!🎄
I hope we get to see more of these kind of interviews in future. Still in dental community there is not much talk about these topics openly. Loved all the answers of Dr.Choi, she seems very down to earth and mature😊 and I subscribed to her channel after watching this .
dental community is full of crooks and dental fraud let's not humanise these demons
Just Listening to you both made me realise that any health care providers life is not easy , they work really hard and effortless to keep us healthy. Grateful for all your hardwork and efforts.
A Big thank you to all of them and to you Dr. Jhon for doing what you do for all. I will try to find the Little Beat of Happiness in my Life to.
I’m of asian descent. I graduated from dental school years ago. I started to watch and follow you and dr.choi because I want to be motivated to be a real dentist. My mom forced me to be in dental school and i hated it from day1 because of my obnoxious, too competitive, rude schoolmates seriously… it made my college experience worse that til today i can still remember those bad memories. I am the type of person who is an avid learner and i easily learn but if i don’t like to do something, i feel stressed and unmotivated. I am hypersensitive and i really do not like my toxic schoolmates before because they like to destroy my peace.
Many people even my dentist friends have told me too bad i didn’t become a dentist. They were telling me not to waste what i studied. Since dentistry is an expensive course and has title(people in my country are so into titles)That i’ll look good working as a dentist. You guys make dentistry look so fun. I wish I can have that type of joy and motivation so I can be 100% be in the mood to take the national licensure exam.
Go for it! Take small steps towards your vision!
Seems like you should become a dentist if you already finished school for ig
If u want to u should take the license test, take baby steps, u got this! Use this chance to create something u like, and just enjoy ur life! Good luck!
U from India bro?
Despite you finishing dental school, if you don't have a passion for it, DO NOT BECOME A DENTIST. If you do, then You are sabotaging your patients lives and YOUR life. Do what you are passionate about.
Yes, 💯 agree! Count your blessings everyday! There are so many things around us which we can be grateful for esp our family, friends & loved ones which we so often took for granted in our busy & hectic life! Being dentists in itself is already a tough job but still able to take the extra time & effort to be appreciative of all the things & ppl around you & be grateful for them is really even more admirable!
Thanks Dr. Yoo & Dr. Sarang for the timely reminder during this festive season & for being such wonderful role models for us! 👍😷 😇 👏 😘
Love the video! I’m an occupational therapist/hand therapist, and I agree! I have patients who tell me their life stories, cry, laugh and everything in between during our treatment sessions I’m honored that they’re able to open up to me but sometimes, by the end of the day, I feel so drained. I’m still learning not to be a “sponge” so much. Can you please do a video on how you cope?
Her: "I'm a 35 year old"
I THOUGHT SHE WAS IN HER 20s!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for this video, I really needed it! I’m a dental student and dentistry has definitely made me cry several times because I always doubt myself every now and then.. but every time I treat patients and make some small improvements in their lives, it makes me so happy and helps me remember why I want to become a dentist.
And Dr Choi is right, whenever I have a bad day I always try to count my blessings. There are so many things to be grateful for outside of my dental life. Thank you for the reminder!
yesss. all power to you. thanks for sharing your reflection . we got this !!
Im a dental student as well and its realy hits home ''there are so many things outside to be grateful for outside dental life' yass
Self love is the key 🔑
Taking time out to find your inner peace makes you appreciate little things in life
Also thank you for sharing with us what dentist experience physical and mental I appreciate the honesty 🥰
My 17 year old son who is very bright wants to follow the dentistry path, thus we are investigating different universities at this time. This vlog gave the real world of what it's like to work in this type of industry. And I greatly appreciate. His concern is being overworked but as a Nurse Practitioner in the trauma hospital, I wish I would have known more about becoming a dentist. I'm very aware it's alot of dedication and hardwork however based on your vlogs, I can visualize my son being content with this work. Thank you for the insight.
Thank you for this video! Thanks to both you and Dr. Choi on advice and tips and just all the insight of life after dental school!
i am a dental hygienist in Montreal, Canada. I have been following Dr. John Yoo and Dr. Sarang for 2 years now and you guys are so amazing. I hope you guys can do more colab and more dental contents, because i do enjoy them :).
keep up the good works!! love you guys !!! Also it is nice to hear dental related on youtube. I totally agree with you guys with how we have to play as a therapist for our patients .
My dentist started taking a half day off every week to play golf when he was about 30. That’s a few decades ago now!
Self-care is important in a profession where you deal with a lot of anxious patients! 🐑🐑🇳🇿🇳🇿NZ
Thank you for the video. Lots of valuable life nuggets especially being thankfully and choosing to define your own happiness despite what you face.
yall, the flirtation and chemistry thooo
I am also a health practitioner, not a dentist. I agree with most of what you love about your profession. Yes it is a rewarding job but sometimes I get overwhelmed by my patient's complaints, personal stories etc,. when they love me, I can tell I did my best to listen to them as a practitioner and friend. However, I learned to draw a line so I am not draining myself. In fact, I learned I don't need to be their close friends and maintain a professional distance. I do try to keep myself mentally healthy. I balance my working hours, work out, and spend quality time with people I love. Thanks for sharing this video and sharing your insights.
I'm a 4th yr dental student, and definitely going through some stuffs. I'm glad i watched this, it's worth knowing that i'm not alone
Can’t agree more with having good rapport with your dentist. I had some bad dental work in my life and I’ve been very wary of dentists ever since. My current dentist has been extremely supportive, understanding, and informative. He answers every question I have, he doesn’t shrug me off when I have questions or mention symptoms, and he even talks to me about my life to get the bug picture of what’s going on in my life. When I was struggling with drinking he was the first person to congratulate me on 30 days of sobriety. Not to mention that I LOVE his entire staff. They’re all very patient, intelligent, driven, and kind. Shout out Dr. Zaidi!
This finally happened! I love you both-i didn’t know you knew each other. Good content 👌🏼
I can’t agree more with Dr Choi! It is important to be grateful/ thankful! I used to be very sharp w my words too… then I understand that same meaning/objectives can be communicated differently - do it in a nasty way; anyone can skip you and ignore you. Do it nicely/ patiently; you might make a difference in that person’s life.
As you mature, you kinda take very challenge as an opportunity to grow! Thank you for another great video! Merry Christmas 🎄
My two faves. Was so happy to see this collab. Hope there’s more to come !
Thanks Doc for the real world advice you both had to offer in this amazing duo collab! Merry xmas and wishin you a safe healthy & restful holiday season 🥳🎄
Have a blessed Merry Christmas to you both. A great advice. Such a meaningful discussion. 🎄❤️
Love this collab. I can't wait to see more 🤗❤
Love the chemistry from both of em 👍🏼
I see my future self in Sarang besides being the dentist part lol happiness comes from within. Never place it on someone or something! There’s nothing constant in life besides you!
OMG FINALLY!! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS COLLAB VIDEO FOR SOOOOO LONG🤧🤧🤧😌
even cooler in person than in her vids !!
I would like to share a story. When I started college, I took the bus to get to school. One day, an African American man was just singing happily on the bus. I was trying to find a place to sit and stare out the window. I sat in the front, a seat away from him. He just stood to let elders sit. He was happily singing Michael Bublé's "Haven't Met You Yet". The bus was quiet and his voice filled the silent bus.
I don't remember what he said or how he started to talk to me but he told me that he wanted me to remember one thing. "Take care of your heart, mind, body and soul." He repeated that at least 2 or 3 times throughout the conversation. I had to get off at my stop and it was time to leave. I don't know his name or anything but I remember his kindness and positive energy. I didn't ask for any advice but that was a message that I received and I am grateful to this day.
I try to remind myself to do things that my younger self, current self, and future self would want. My younger self just wants to live in the moment and enjoy life. My current self wants to focus on recovering/personal growth. My future self wants to live with no regrets. By thinking about these versions of me, I would be able to take care of my heart, mind, body and soul.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, John and viewers! 🎄🌻❤
Been waiting for this combo 4ever ♥️✨♥️
Falling in love with Dr. Choi. She just so motivated and inspiring. Know her through Dr. John channel. Thank you for introduce this amazing woman to us
Love the positive energy from you two .. 😊
Listening to your conversation was like being one of my English classes. Starts it out light and then it gets deeper but it sort of like therapeutic. Wonderful to relate with people from another profession. Yes, we’re all humans anyway 😊😊😊
I'm so glad you guys finally got to meet!! Happy New Year to you both 🎉✨
Nice to meet you Dr Sarang. Such a pretty dentist. Beauty and brains .
Thank you dentists for sharing!
This is an amazing video filled with gems. I like Dr. Choi, she's such a sweet gentle woman. I loved that she said her passion for dentistry is because she wants to help others ❤. It's very empowering seeing other women like her on their grind. Makes me want to work even harder. There is a lot of great advice in this video that could be applied to all of us and not just dentist students.
P.s I'm secretly hoping Santa sits Dr. Yoo under my Christmas tree for Christmas day 😆
Myself 3rd year bds student.. really drained out through the things went on a day on dental clz throughout the day..and felt so motivating and refreshed after i watched this video..more power to the dentist ❤️
I love this, totally relatable.
I'm a general family dentist. I was diagnosed with chronic back pain very early during my career after an intense work at emergency department during housemanship.
Now working 5 days a week ,and regular appointment with chiropractor for my joints & spine every month.
love my job though and I'm having fun everyday 😀
cheers
This is exactly what is keeping me far away from pursuing dentistry. I already have neck and back pain. Do you think I should pursue it?
@@rianeon hi, you may need to get some advise from your physician to see if there's something you can do to alleviate the pain.
career in dentistry is broad. there're departments in dentistry that don't require you to sit on the dental chair all day.
find something that suits you best.
good luck
@@rianeon same. I already have neck pain & backpain. The neck pain is so bad that sometimes it hurts to bend down. That's why i decided to stop pursuing dentistry although i already took the DAT.
Finally the much awaited collab yay 💯
Finding happiness to that struggles wowww you got it right and I difinitely agree 💯.
I was WAITING for this 😩😩😩😩
Dr.John voice is so calming and sweet. Your the best i really admire all your hard work😍.
I’m not into medicine. But this was video was somehow really eye opening. Thanks for sharing these wonderful insights ❤️
Thank you for the video dr. yoo! im currently studying for the DAT and its so draining sometimes I wonder why im even trying to cram all of this content in... so dr. choi's advice of just enjoy and taking care of ourselves really hit me :(( would love more related q&a's!!
wow. being a dentist has alot of education. i didnt know behind the scenes learning. oh. i like understanding the BTS work, makes me appreciate the dentist more. its a big world.
Sarang is so well spoken and inspiring to me!
I've been waiting for this vid ever since the halloween one 👻!! Yay
Finding happiness when you are struggling can be hard. I would agree that finding the things you are grateful for and appreciate helps bring in some positivity. I also believe that always thinking about the hardships and negativities will put you on a downward spiral. If you can put a positive spin on it or tackle it with a different approach. Instead of focusing on what NOT to do, focus on what you should do i.e. instead of "don't walk off this path." or "don't trip over this rock." instead think "follow the path". Just got to find a way to implement that into your own situation and context.
Hey docs
I moved from Korea when I was young and I graduated dental school in US.
I dont know how you are doing
But just keep doing and dont stop!!!
Dentistry is always great!
I have no fear to improve myself and just push myself to do things better.
Always be positive and be grateful. Each day is a blessing! I love this video; so real!❤
Thank you for the CE course idea! You're a life saver :)
My two faves together!!!
insta like for this long awaited collaboration :) wish to shadow y'all someday after dental school. Both of you have amazing background, Keep being awesome both of you :D
Thank u so much for this video, i am a dental student and i've been through alot lately, this video really helped me, thank u! 🖤
I agree. Being a dentist is mentally and physically draining. But it's a great job. Especially when you have your own practice. Do it how you want. It's nice to be free.
Finally my two favourite dentist met 🤩
Yass my 2 favorite dentist RUclipsrs❤️❤️I’m a dental nurse & love my job, dentistry is the best but can definitely be physically & mentally draining at times. Will definitely use your advice thanks guys🙏❤️⭐️🌞

Merry Christmas to both of you 🌲❤️
Never knew I needed this video so much
ok this was so fun to watch :)))
I need this advice right now. Thank you guys😭
From golden age of dentistry to now "try to find that little bead of happiness" can sum up dentistry today.
Now I have two favorite dentists 🥺❤
Going through hardships is to find happiness. It might seem like the world is crashing down on you but trust that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It sounds so cliche but it’s the truth. Going through struggles is suppose to make you stronger and wiser.
WE NEED A PART 2 !!!!!
This is so true. Its so physically demanding. I have fever neck and back issue after dentistry. Very serious issues.
HOLY SHTTTTTTTTTTTTT I remember herrrrrr I always watch her studying vlogs when I was in college oh my god I can’t believe i forgot about her after graduating
@Dr.Jhon I am happy and grateful to see ur face everyday 🥰🥰
Merry Christmas Dr.John 🎄
Literally 1:02min in the video, n I feel good pumped with good energy n excited 😍 this is sooo cool!
First!!!! 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥
One big problem is that dentistry is not part of the basic health insurance package in America. For some reason, insurance companies sell it as a [ luxury add on accessory ].
I work as a receptionist at a private owned dental office. I can also be a dental assistant when needed by the dentist. And you are right, it is physically demanding to be a dentist! People think you just clean teeth all day and that’s it! It’s much more than that! Gotta think RCTs, fillings, crowns, post and core/build ups, dentures, sometimes implants, EXTs. My dentist is the only one doing this stuff! It is not a group practice with other dentists! She works late doing charts and such.
I will also add about patients thinking dentists “steal” their money or “bamboozle” them, some dentists ARE like that! But not all! The dentist I work for is honest and has good integrity! This one patient brought in her son and he got scammed out of $10,000 that made his condition worse than it was before! My dentist came up with a solution that costed around $800 and has never felt better! Had another patient came in after her wisdom teeth extraction from an OS and she was only 12/13 and they prescribed her Oxycodone. She didn’t feel any better. She saw us and got prescribed Tylenol 800mg? The Rx strength Tylenol and she felt better in a day! All depends on who has your best interests at heart!
Ahh Dr John 😃.. it's so nice to talking about all this
Merry Christmas to both of you 🎅🏽🎁🥂🎊✨🎄🎉🎊
Merry Christmas To You. Wishing You Healthy and Happy Always☃️🎄🌷🍀❤
I love this interview ! Please do more. My neck and back were cracking at the same time as the the sound effects 😂
Thanks for the video.. i am actually going thru v rough times .. its for the first time i have ever been depressed in my life . .. i hav to appear in a national entrance exam which is vvvv difficult ... my mind is on a roller coaster .. i was thinking bout going to a therapist actually but after watching dis video I don’t think i need to .. thank u again
I think having the little bead of moments to remind ourselve to be happy is relatively difficult to some people, especially when you are struggling somewhere admist of something, we should instead fuel ourselves with those moments whenever we want to give up on something that is draining. Being adults has made most of us to lose the capability to be happy at anytime, especially those professionist that may have to carry the weight of their "customers" back to home or sleep with it. For those who read my comment, I just want to let you know, we are all struggling for a better tomorrow, and you deserve the rights to take a break and find the stuffs which could calm your mind or temporary switch your mind from the draining one. It could be as simple as meditation, being foodie.
Your future will be bright and you are the best.
Thank you so much✨️
35?... she's 35? No way she's 35 😳 😱 she doesn't look a day over 25.... oh and as far the finding happiness in small things, I agree. I still remember this quote that said "if you can't find happiness in a cup of coffee, then u won't find it in a yacht".
It's sometimes hard to find happiness in the small things especially when I think about my university, full days and planning is hard. I have a hard time stopping an assignment in between, so I usually go on and on until I'm done with the day. This doesn't give me much free time.
John.... how did you do the planning to have free time. Or how did you experience uni/residency?
What do you imagine 35 year olds to look like? All wrinkly and sagging? Wtf 35 is still young.
@@sakshishopaholic don't be so hurt in your feelings 🤣🤣 all I'm saying is that she looks 25. ➕ I never said 35 is old whatsoever. Lol 😆
Dr Yoo and Dr Choi thank you for this video. I woul like to ask , do US dental schools have a subject to maintain your posture or ways to strengthen your back and neck muscles?
유의미한 영상ㅎㅎ
바로 한국 자막떠서 좋음
이런거 자주 올려쥬세요!
You two really gave me the vibe of soul compatible:😊
Merry Christmas 🌲🌲🌲
May santa brings all happiness in our life ✨
A very nice video for the people who are struggling with their careers and not being happy, bcoz they did it cause once they found happiness in it.
Also very true about dentist being someone who sells teeth 😂😂 this is seen everywhere. Everyone has this misconception 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Guess this video would atleast put a smile on someone who is struggling ❤️❤️
There are not many people who say out loud what they go through, so praying they would start finding happiness 🙏
Merry Christmas 🎄 everyone!!!!!!
❤️❤️❤️ it is a physically and mentally stressful profession. It can be redundant also. That's why we also need to have other interests aside from the practice.
Preach on!
