Wanted to give another perspective from a woman in her early 30s. I had so much going on in my life in my younger years (tumultuous upbringing) and was so focused on just surviving and maintaining friendships that I didn't know what I wanted in life. I didn't even get into my first relationship until my late 20's. Today, I have a a better sense of who I am and the direction I want my life to go in but cannot see myself settling down with anyone in the near future. What you guys went through in your 20's, I'm now experiencing in my 30's. Having fun, improving myself in all areas of life, and just simply enjoying life more are the only things I'm pursuing.
Thanks for this coming from a 25 year old who has never dated😢. So many things have happened including losing my mom 😢

Good to hear guys having conversations about relationships. Both of you have self awareness and clarity which is an amazing trait. You introspect and know when the right time is for you, to do something. That’s why you have a stable life with a professional career. Marry someone who values stability and reliability as well.
My priority till the age of 25 years was friends and work. I didn’t focus on a relationship. I didn’t want a relationship to define me. It wasn’t a priority at all. A guy would have to get to know me slowly, in order for me to warm up to him and consider marrying him. I never met a guy who was mature enough to understand my needs, at that age. It was only in my mid to late 20’s that I wanted to settle down. The kind of man I’ve wanted, has never changed. I still want the same things in a man.
Of course, it’s a red flag if a guy or girl, doesn’t text back or call. If he doesn’t include you in plans, it’s not on. If you’re not going out, meeting each others friends and colleagues, planning things, etc. you’re not even dating let alone in a relationship 😂
It’s also a red flag for friends not to text back or call. If weeks and months go by, without contact, without clarification, safe to say that you’re no longer friends. It’s common sense. If there IS an issue, then you’re justified not to encounter. Otherwise, it’s a clear sign. We all know that. We’re not kids. Communication is what keeps any equation together and the lack thereof breaks up relationships.
Saying “I need to be in a relationship” doesn’t mean that one can’t be single prior to that realisation. Reaching the point of wanting more out of life is important for fulfilment. It’s a sign of maturity. And you can see who’s in that space by the way that they live. What do they spend time on? What’s their routine like? Where’s their mind at?
In South Asia, people get married at any age, whether or not they’re fit for marriage. They believe that they’re prepared so do their families. People who waste years and months, are unemployed, bored, lazy, on drugs, committing crimes or don’t take responsibility for their actions, are certainly not marriage or relationship material. You’d be shocked that there are people like that, who stalk, harass, bully, intrude in people’s privacy and literally lie to themselves, saying that they want to get married. I’ve been the victim of such crimes. I had clarity. The psychotic criminal didn’t.
I don't think Dr. Yoo realizes how adorably charming he comes across when he discusses these types of segments.

It's refreshing seeing guys discussing these matured topics and also in a very laid back tone🔥.It's true we do have stuff figured out early but were also selfish with our time in our 20s and sometimes as of late up to our early 30s i.e had med-school and started working at 25 being a dr then the thought of settling was enticing but still wanted to travel,didn’t want to drag some poor soul with student debt,and needed to grow as a person and know what i want to avoid settling due to environmental pressures. Now at 31 I'm ready to entertain the idea of traveling with someone, making time in my busy schedule for that person etc.I guess it's also important to appreciate the stages you're in and enjoy them.Hope to find a secure guy not intimidated by my success 😊🙏🏽and knowing i dont need him but actually want them as a person. Wishing your friend a blessed union,doing life with someone is a brave daily decision👌🏽lol just realised in your circle of friends he's the first one in my circle of friends I'm the last woman standing 😅😅now that's the difference or maybe I just wanted to be the rich auntie first🫣still working on it😉

I’m female and in my 40s, and I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed my single life. I’ve had serious relationships, but they haven’t worked out for various reasons. Finding a significant other is not a priority in my life and never has been. If I find one then great, but if not, then I’m happy being single. Enjoy your single life, and don’t settle down until you’re ready and actually want too. Make sure you and your partner have similar morals, ethics, and goals for long term like kids, finances, housing, etc. Or at least make sure you balance each other out for your long term goals.

30s is when you have to really focus on settling down with the right person who meets your standards ( check list ) to the best of your abilities. Once you near 40s - you'll just start getting desperate and more open towards someone who doesn't meet all of your standards but just enough, or even barely. Past 40s - it becomes sheer luck . 😅😂 Hence now is a good time that you're more open minded John and trying to put more effort in "settling down". At least you can tell yourself that you tried.
