You used the wrong side of the leaf. If you use a gilding brush, you can apply it correctly, and the shiny side of the leaf is visible. The way you did it, the shiny side is now the side glued to the surface. A gilding brush will also help you eliminate all those wrinkles.
Any where they sell gold leaf , they have all different verigated colors. I’m in the Chicago area. I get it at Earl Minch in Woodale Illinois . Thanks for watching
