Excellent advice Alex and thank you. I've just taken my 3i out and replaced it with a Rogue 3 hybrid and despite copping some flak from mates, it's got them thinking. The places I can use this and the way it can perform extreme ball shaping - never could I do such things with my 3i. I'm a low marker and this has been a big step up for me. Cheers and thanks from Sydney, Aust - Dave
Watched this vid the other night on the exercise bike.Just got back from the range now where I really started crushing my recently purchases G410 19 and 26 degree hybrids. Couldnt believe the groove I got into hitting these clubs, even when placing the ball in old divots/pitch marks the ball flew out beautifully. Great vid, thanks!
Awesome video. Prior to this golf season, I struggled managing the flight consistency of my hybrids - sometimes it would balloon, sometimes it would boar low through the air, and so on. I came to find I was hitting my hybrids too much like my driver/woods and not enough like an iron. Since changing my mentality and setup to reflect the iron-like notion, my consistency [with hybrids] has gone through the roof. This video perfectly encapsulates the changes I made; I only wish I could have seen it a season or two sooner! Great work as always, Alex.
Just broke my hybrid last week mid round.....I love the hybrid to take out the three iron. But I'm just an average golfer. Great video and can't recommend people put this club in their bag. I know most "traditionalist" hate the idea but it really improves your game once you figure out to hit it.
the problem I had was I was trying to hit it like a 3 wood. Since I started hitting it like an Iron it made a huge difference. Im a firm believer in using what works no matter what others think, I had a guy comment on my goofy looking swing trainer in my bag. 2 holes later after I out drove him by 60 yards he got real silent
Just wonderful, I have been researching "body position at impact in golf swing" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Reyuhaffad Underlying Recognition - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for discovering how to revealing an effortless golf swing technique without the normal expense. Ive heard some super things about it and my friend got amazing results with it.
Alex, great video. To take it a step further, can you do a video on hitting a 4, 3, or 2 hybrid punch shot out of the trees, and/or a stinger off the tee. I don’t carry a 4 or 3 iron anymore, but since the hybrid is built for added heigh, so learning to hit a hybrid low can help me recover my errant shots that wind up in the trees. Thanks for all your efforts.
Thank you for the tip on hitting hybrids. I was having some inconsistency problems this evening driving my second shot off the deck. I will try that club head length inside my left heel for next Wednesday’s game and see if I can do better.
Thank you .. excellent explanation. I have been spinning the hybrid a great deal into the wind and I am thinking my error has been ball position and my somewhat ascending hit. I’ll definitely try your suggestions... makes perfect sense.
So glad you did the hybrid swing, just started using my hybrid instead of a fairway wood now I can try out your set up as Im playing an away day with my society. Great lesson.
When would it be appropriate to swap out the 3 iron for 3 iron ? I’m guessing 3 iron is better on a links course when it’s windy but hybrid better when it’s wetter conditions?
My 5 hybrid is so verstatile. I can almost pitch with it if need be, getting in very steep on short par 3's to stop it dead. And if I level the swing plane out and hit it more like a long iron, the thing can get some bomber distances. I'm talking about 240 or so yards with a good amount of height.
Most amateurs struggle to hit low irons due to trying to hit the ball too hard, swing smooth, with the same swing as you would use for an 8 or 9 iron, just make sure you make a full back swing. 👍
Great explanation. Do you compress down on the ball like you would with an iron? I was nailing my hybrids off the practice mats, when I got on the course I kept topping it.
I just got a new callaway X2 hot 🔥 4 hybrid. It's my new driver and go to club. Holy shit I'm on par five greens in 2. I'm absolutely crushing drives and second shots with it. It hits 💣 bombs and missiles. Whoa. Oh and I hit it better from the rough, if I have a deeper (1 or 2 inch) lie than fairway flat. Awesome club, Def help improve my game
Hi Alex, thanks for another good video, i have big problems swinging with longer clubs and shafts, tried a 31 degree hybrid from a friend yesterday and wow, shaft was short, i felt so comfortable and hit it 170-175 for 10 shots in a row and it was very light i mean the weight. So now i want to buy 25, 30 and 35 degrees loft, any suggestions for good affordable hybrids? Wish my driver had a short shaft like that to haha
Thank you! I see! I just love the cobra hybrid and it’s all i use, i can’t really give a recent opinion because i haven’t used anything else. Maybe try you local pro shop and see what they can recommend... but i just don’t think you can go wrong with cobra
I have found these clubs bloody annoying to use. One in 20 shots is great , then 19 are tops , slice , digs , tops , low Top right. Nearly throw it in the ocean this week. For a club that is called rescue , it's a joke. Any ideas , "rescue me "!
I carry ADAMS 3, 4 - OS A12's and 5 - A3 BOXER hybrids...they ought to be illegal. Almost too easy to hit. Not much movement left or right, strictly 'Point and Click'. I love them. LOL!
Still loitering in the back catalogue 😂. Used my new Mizuno 4 hybrid to drive with on the weekend. Sent some over 200m which created a few wtf just happened moments. 😅
I spent an hour today at an indoor TrackMan facility hitting my two hybrids (20.5* and 23.5*) and 3 wood (14.5) and my results were horrendous. The three clubs had almost identical club head speed (75mph; I’m a senior), average distance (154 yds), and terrible dispersion (total carry 150-200 yds). Based upon the dispersion scatter diagram one might say I could choose to hit any of the three clubs if the total distance is 150-200 yards because they all gave virtually the same inconsistent and unpredictable results. I generally hit these clubs fairly well at my outdoor range on grass. Why is hitting on mats so difficult? Is there a secret I’m unaware of?
The longest iron I can hit well is a six. Then a 22 hybrid, 5 wood and 12 degree driver. I’ve got a slow swing and if I try to hit harder I’ve got a slice 🤬
Bob Johnson Thanks for the comment on the good video. I’ll always make my videos around 5/8 minutes. It’s my way of teaching, maybe skip parts of the video you don’t need. But my feedback has been really good, and I wont make 2 minute youtube videos. Thanks!
Just started playing hybrids this year. Absolutely game changing clubs. The very best in the world have trouble hitting long irons consistently!!!

I got an Adams 6,5 and 4 hybrid and find them a great addition. I use the 6 for consistent chip and run shots too!
Shut up
Hey mark, from op and the rest of us, please go kindly fuck yourself
I struggle to use hybrids off the fairway. Like you say, I'm hitting it and trying to create loft with my body. I'll deffo try this next time out. 👍
"I like to have thoughts and feelings"....I concur , sir.

Great demonstration on hitting hybrids
great teacher...you are explicit without losing your train of thought
Thank you!

Great explanation. Thank you!
With Hybrids Alex how far away is your body postion from ball. I'm taking about 6,7,8,9, Hybrid. Thanking you
I've got the Ping400 3&4 Hybrid and love them both, esp the 3 which is my go to club on most par4's I play, great vid and easy to understand, thanks
brillaint, they seem like great clubs to use. Thank you!! Glad the videos are helping
@@AlexElliottGolf Definitely great clubs, my first set of of hybrids & I'll never go back to long iron's, definitely enjoying the videos 👍
great video just bought a hybrid cant wait to play great set up advise simple and to the point thanks alex
thank you
I've got the same Adams hybrid and I use it 90% of the time off the tee its so consistent

I am glad I found your channel. Your instruction is great. I think you are the best on RUclips! Thank you for your videos.

I agree, try and repeat the same swing!
Thank you for this...your tips really helped!
love it! thank you
Informative video. I have x2 hybrids, but I tend to send them left (not hooked]) more of a pull left. Any ideas what may cause that.
Great explanation. Do you compress down on the ball like you would with an iron? I was nailing my hybrids off the practice mats, when I got on the course I kept topping it.
Same here. I would smash it off the mats and then off the ground haven’t had the same success
Very good instructor. Will become a great instructor when
you learn to teach in much fewer words. Look forward to following you here.
Hello Louis thank you so much. Great to hear you enjoyed the video

Great teaching
Glad you think so!
very thorough and helpful
Nicholas Jones thank you for the feedback
I have 4 hybrids 16° 18° 20° 23° my Irons 5-SW - GW-Driver, putter
How does it work with larher shaft lenght of hybrids? My irons are +1 inch, does the same apply for these?
yeah it does... i have a lot more tips if you search on my channel

I thought this was chesney from coronation street. Good instructions man
This is great advice mate
Nic Ted thank you!
Great vid. Simple reminders I’ll try and take to the heavy rough. 😄
Great Lesson!!

Lessons?
send it to me for free will ya?
Hit it like an iron
One length 5 iron
Agree entirely, consistently the worst club I use, the problem is that I have no other options.
What degree is hybrid set at
I carry ADAMS 3, 4 - OS A12's and 5 - A3 BOXER hybrids...they ought to be illegal. Almost too easy to hit. Not much movement left or right, strictly 'Point and Click'. I love them. LOL!
What hybrid do you use 3 or 4
4
i didnt know King Joffrey played golf!?
nanolathe11 😂😭😂😭😂
Hahaha
Now that's funny!
nanolathe11 its a much safer role he’s got here, prolly won’t get whacked playing golf
Bad golf is coming
Do you know how i should hit my driver smooth and straight??
give this a watch ruclips.net/video/Ci_YSy_bruU/видео.html
im soo happy you got a mic! great video!
Adventures of Carlienne so am I! Thanks for the comments!
great video thank you
I've been hooking my hybrids really bad recently, I don't do that with any of my other clubs.
treating it like an iron is a excellent tip
Still loitering in the back catalogue 😂. Used my new Mizuno 4 hybrid to drive with on the weekend. Sent some over 200m which created a few wtf just happened moments. 😅

I cannot hit my hybrid. I have no problem hitting my irons and driver, but my hybrid i just can't figure it out.
Once again, Alex, good information that could have been delivered in 2 minutes..but you managed to stretch it to 8+ minutes!
Bob Johnson Thanks for the comment on the good video. I’ll always make my videos around 5/8 minutes. It’s my way of teaching, maybe skip parts of the video you don’t need. But my feedback has been really good, and I wont make 2 minute youtube videos. Thanks!
Bob, so looking forward to seeing your video 📹 👍
Daniel Love Won’t happen......but, if I made a video, it would be concise & make the point quickly! Never use 1000 words when 100 will do!
Bob Johnson I think it’s important to build up your confidence in instruction videos when it’s something you aren’t used to doing!
Bob Johnson, it's easy to talk a good game son but unfortunately unlike Alex you don't seem to produce the goods.
I carry 3 hybrids, 19° ,22, and 25 but I can't play 25 that far up in my stance
I use my 4 hybrid like im holding a cricket bat and it works for me lol any other way wont work for me haha
8 mins in before he hits a damn thing
Have cobra 4 5 6 hyb. They work great but you have to have the correct set up
Everyone has a different ball setup it’s very confusing
I disagree! My hybrids can't hold a green often vs regular clubs.
I have a 3 hybrid but I can't hit it for shit.
Try this swing
thanks!!!!
thank you !
Hi
👍👍💪💪👍👍
I can smash my 4-5 iron 190-220 cant hit a hybrid If my life depended on me
Yeah it’s a tough one! Hope my tips help though
You lost me after spending too long telling us what a hybrid is. If we are here, we already know.
M
jeez get to it already ! its how to hit a hybrid not introduction of hybrid
You talk way too much , get to the point
Get on with the swing jimmy. English tend to talk to much. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz😂
Less talking and more hitting the ball drills. Don't be as boring as the rest
Too much talking not enuf demonstrating
So what was the swing drill. 8 min. of my life gone.
Too verbose and mostly incorret.
hmmm
You speak too fast - what's the hurry?
