No, the "THUMPTHUMPTHUMP" is the noise Niko makes when he is walking around most of the Refuge. Because its all sheet metal or expanded metal floors. Despite the deafening noise of his footsteps, the song is called "On Little Cat Feet" I always thought that was funny.
After finishing the game a few years back. I tried to go back again and still cry to find out I can't redo the entire game again. That it is all just a pre-recorded memory and it makes you feel that way. Knowing that Niko is in back in their hometown where they truly belong.

And then Niko comes in to vibe check. So, both stories are about learing something and thus fixing mental instabilities.
I can see this comparison, especially when comparing Badeline to The World Machine. They both distort/break apart their reality whenever they have a panic attacks, and are constantly fighting themselves on both a literal and metaphorical level. Both also justify their actions as an attempt to protect the main character.

This song evokes a strange kind of beauty as well as a deep, indescribable pain. I’m not even sure if the two are separate. Either way, this is the good shit.
While on my way home from work on the train, I played this song. Arriving at my station, it was cold, dark, and nothing for sight in miles, other than a steel refinery in the distance, illuminated by orange lights. With that combined with this music in the background, it gives me this vibe I can't even begin to describe. One Shot is such a powerful game, with an amazing sound track
“..” “You’re here.” “Not much of this world remains.” “This will be apparent when you go outside” “This place was never worth saving in the first place.” “…” “But do you still want to try?” “.” “Then remember this:” “Your actions here will affect niko.” “You only have oneshot, Y/N.”

One thing that always bugged me about video games was hot copy-catty they are. Go here, kill this, go there, talk to that NPC. OneShot totally breaks that cycle. I think graphics can be nice but they are so unimportant compared to story, mechanics and originality.
Graphics are important in my opinion. Not in the sense that games need to be hyper-realistic, I just think it's important for games to be visually appealing. OneShot has pixel graphics but it's still beautiful to look at.
Graphics aren't important. Art style is. Its why games like Borderlands age great while more realistic looking games age like milk. By the same token, the use of colours in OneShot is gorgeous despite the low graphics.
My dad considers games to only be good if they have nearly perfect graphics and by that I mean realistic. The way i see graphics is that I want it to not be painful to look at. If I can look at it and not get sick or get a migraine and can tell what it is I'm looking at then fine.
o.o La verdad no pense que este juego me fuese a gustar tanto, es de mis favoritos. Tanto así que apenas lo jugué San que iba a ser una gran experiencia! Y lo fue... Te extraño Niko :(
probably the most beautiful thing about the game is that everyone who played it come to the soundtracks and tell their experiences. i have never, never once seen a bad comment.
I've discovered this game through Undertale/Deltarune fan projects... You know, I'm a huge fan of Toby Fox's work. Somehow, they always give a shout-out to Niko. The most recent one that actually fully convinced me to play OneShot was Deltarune Repainted, a Deltarune meme mod, featuring a Mettaton-cosplaying Kris, Dio from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and, surprisingly, Niko from OneShot. She was an absolute cutie there, and just for the theme of the mod, she was an absolutely good memelord in the mod. So, with the expectations of an Undertale-like puzzle RPG experience, I downloaded OneShot, installed it and started playing it... The game is HEAVILY based on puzzling, even more than I expected to be, honestly. First, I had a bad time because of the need for figuring out the solutions for the puzzles, but enjoyed the beautiful soundtrack. Then I had enough of it and started replaying Undertale's Pacifist Route for the thousandth time... Then I postponed it to give a second chance to OneShot... I REALLY appreciate that I gave AnotherShot™ (really bad pun warning). I fell in love with the game and I kinda got used to the puzzles so much that I started successfully solving them alone, without the help of RUclips. Then the beautiful story... OMG, this is really good! So, this is the story of how I became a fan of a game which was joked to death in my "natural habitat". Update: About the fanbase: It's just as a chill and welcoming community as the Earthbound or Crash Bandicoot community, and there's no toxicity here ATM, unlike the Sonic or the Undertale/Deltarune fanbase.
That's the good thing about these smaller games... If they are not very popular, they won't draw a lot of attention. (Which is both good and bad) And because the people that play it WANT to play it they'll go and search it on the internet to play it themselves. Gladly most of the attention the game got was from Markiplier. His community and Jack's are pure gold, friendly and awesome. (If you ever heard of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. just so you know...the community is pretty big and very friendly. But still not as big as Undertale or any of these bigger games) When Mark played it...I said... FISH (he he, family friendly-ish...not really...) IT! I'll play this game for myself! (My timing was so perfect that just when I was about to finish Oneshot...SOLSTICE came out,go figure ^.^ Lucky me) I finished the game when he was at episode 3... And when he finished the game and didn't do the SOLSTICE ending... I got really sad...Because the game changes a lot in the SOLSTICE run...If you played it...you know how everything looks...and how...tragic some things are... If you go and look at his comment section on the last episode on it it's FULL of people trying to point it out to him... But sadly...To no avail... :(
I found it from the robotic wisp sunrise remix after finding a whole bunch of ut songs...which made ma yt recommendations be like "hey...some oneshot" And i heard it and was like "GIMME GAME NOW"
The last leg of your journey. A stronghold, a *bastion* of civilization amid a dying world. The echoes of Niko's footsteps as the two of you cross the catwalks, knowing that there isn't much time left. So, so beautiful...
The Refuge upper level. This is that awesome final region. After coming from the calming Glen, you have to have an exciting music playing! Cannot say that for the people who have gotten "that" ending. This is one of my favorites. But the elevator is down and you need to get down. Jumping down is not an option. What now? More importantly, how did you even get up there? And why are there no stairs?
I just realized how much the start of this sounds like Block World from Yume Nikki. No idea if that was intention but if it is it's genius considering this is when you really start facing the corruption squares.
In my opinion, OneShot is frickin’ awesome. OneShot does everything that a lot of people want from a game, great story, cool characters, nice visuals, and the list goes on, its really difficult to say the game is terrible since theres not even much to criticize, its just perfect.
fr I wish a lot more of the songs had as many or more views than this one. It's weird, I would classify this game as underrated but I see lots of talk about it online and the remixes of songs be having more views than the original songs themselves for some reason. Either Way, I'm glad the comments sections aren't barren and still have people talking.
when i first heard of oneshot i thought it was going to be like an assassination game. like you only got one shot to hit your target or smthn yeah no its way better than that
I'm gonna fucking have a mental break down now, this game has given me the kind of feels I haven't gotten from any other game in existance and just the soundtrack gives me those feels.

This song evokes a strange kind of beauty as well as a deep, indescribable pain. I’m not even sure if the two are separate. Either way, this is the good shit.
fs same thing, may sound poetic but pain is in a way beautiful is it not?
While on my way home from work on the train, I played this song. Arriving at my station, it was cold, dark, and nothing for sight in miles, other than a steel refinery in the distance, illuminated by orange lights. With that combined with this music in the background, it gives me this vibe I can't even begin to describe. One Shot is such a powerful game, with an amazing sound track

Iudex Gundyr well. that is true. i still avoid it now because it sends me back to the past pretty hard. And it kinda hurts. Like a painful level of nostalgia.
StoneTheMason _Music Yep, it's truly amazing how this game made me care about the main character after the 1st dream sequence where Niko started talking to me directly.
Iudex Gundyr ...there's nothing else like it on the earth. It's things like this that should be preserved for future generations. Im actually coming back to this to let some feels flow i guess. Don't know if they oneshot related or not. Sometimes i just gotta feel something i guess.

Our red city
Glowing faintly
'Til we all be
Lost in the night,
In this city,
End is calling
Light is falling
Where's the sunlight?
Guided by the water's red glow
Walk through our city so huge
Darkness closing in, we feel it,
Here in our unstable Refuge..
Niko: In this city
All around me
I walk quickly
Avoid failure,
This red city
Light is dying
People crying
Where's our savior?
Guided by the sun's yellow shine,
I run through this city huge,
We'll save all these hopeless people,
We'll save this unstable Refuge!

The song itself:
One thing that always bugged me about video games was hot copy-catty they are. Go here, kill this, go there, talk to that NPC. OneShot totally breaks that cycle. I think graphics can be nice but they are so unimportant compared to story, mechanics and originality.
The graphics in this game are beautiful anyway
Yeah, the graphics are actually really beautiful
Oh god, this piece is fantastic.

probably the most beautiful thing about the game is that everyone who played it come to the soundtracks and tell their experiences. i have never, never once seen a bad comment.
(Which is both good and bad)
And because the people that play it WANT to play it they'll go and search it on the internet to play it themselves.
Gladly most of the attention the game got was from Markiplier.
His community and Jack's are pure gold, friendly and awesome. (If you ever heard of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. just so you know...the community is pretty big and very friendly. But still not as big as Undertale or any of these bigger games)
When Mark played it...I said...
FISH (he he, family friendly-ish...not really...) IT! I'll play this game for myself!
(My timing was so perfect that just when I was about to finish Oneshot...SOLSTICE came out,go figure ^.^ Lucky me)
I finished the game when he was at episode 3...
omg i also got to know niko from that deltarune mod
I found it from the robotic wisp sunrise remix after finding a whole bunch of ut songs...which made ma yt recommendations be like "hey...some oneshot" And i heard it and was like "GIMME GAME NOW"

i like how this game is really fun and happy when you play through the barrens, glen and refuge, but the ending is literally heartbreaking.
I am glad this game isn't as popular as Undertale. Means we can keep this little gem all to ourselves :)
I'm convinced they actually used Niko's THUMP for the bass/drums.
You're wrong. They used the Rock lite kit from FL Studio.

The last leg of your journey. A stronghold, a *bastion* of civilization amid a dying world. The echoes of Niko's footsteps as the two of you cross the catwalks, knowing that there isn't much time left.
So, so beautiful...
this song lets out some sort of vibe that I literally cant explain at all
The Refuge upper level. And why are there no stairs?
the squares are blocking the stairs
" That was the most terrifying elevator ride i've ever had."

In my opinion, OneShot is frickin’ awesome. OneShot does everything that a lot of people want from a game, great story, cool characters, nice visuals, and the list goes on, its really difficult to say the game is terrible since theres not even much to criticize, its just perfect.
Sad how this is the most viewed piece of Oneshot music on RUclips. The soundtrack deserves a million views.
fr I wish a lot more of the songs had as many or more views than this one. It's weird, I would classify this game as underrated but I see lots of talk about it online and the remixes of songs be having more views than the original songs themselves for some reason. Either Way, I'm glad the comments sections aren't barren and still have people talking.

The city aesthetic of the 3rd area is near perfect, and this song encapsulates this feeling.
This bpm is close with eleventh hour, I suppose this ost is like telling us that we're running out of time (if im not mistaken this was played during elevator guy's part), then when it reaches eleventh hour it gets more tense.
