It’s Sad that we got a Lame Baron Zemo. But it would’ve been awesome if in the end we got a fight with a Comic accurate Zemo and Other Hydera soldiers vs Iron man, BlackPanther, Winter Soldier and Captain America in the end of Civil war
Ao i was just gonna comment that!!! Both are highly skilled (read: BADASS) assassins , both have the most memorable theme of their respective franchise, both of their themes include distorted screams (Bucky’s and that of an Elephant for Prowler) - and they are absolutely terrifying!
In the MCU, he is almost second to none in melee combat. Instead of leaning towards a shooter like in Infinity War, they should've turned him into a more melee based character like Black Widow and Cap (a little less agile, but a lot stronger). Honestly, leave Cap with his shield and give Bucky those wrist shields or something similar.
It’s a distorted scream but not Sebastian’s vocals. That’s what the composer said. He did want to give to the song the impression of having a human trapped inside.
Yeah they used a lot of the Winter Soldier in it, incorporating his scream while falling off the train, scream while being memory-wiped, his motorcycle noises, etc.
If you look at it artistically, the mask represents the reppression of his personality and identity. It's audience-appropriate (and more than likely character-appropriate) that he doesn't use one after rediscovering himself.
I like the way they use this theme in the new series every time Bucky is channeling his old life. It’s very effective to remind you that this seemingly gentle man used to be a terrifying monster
This theme is so scary, explicit, cool and deadly, just imagine a physically, enhanced and brainwashed assassin trained and programmed to neutralize any potential targets and you yourself are a target getting ready to be killed by the ghost with a strong prosthetic metallic arm armed with high ammunition and combat knives

I don't know why but the theme kinda sounds like he is on a mission to kill someone and the music represents the anxiety of the person he is hunting down. It's like, in the beginning when the music starts the person feels anxious for no reason at all and they're scared by the smalles noise. Just as the person is beginning to calm down, they hear a far scream and they start to flee. It doesn't matter where, just go. As they look back, they see a figure with a muzzle, dressed in all black following them, the drums start to kick in. The persons runs as fast as they can, the assassin walking close behind with no effort. The person thinks they escaped the winter soldier but still hides. They're relieved. Everything is silent, too silent. Then it feels like the auro of another person is near by. The target slowly starts to panic but stays silent anyway. Nearly silent footsteps resound and the target prays that they won't be found. The steps get louder and louder- the mouth of the person gets covered by a cold hand and the last thing they feel is a cold piece of metal at their throat.
RIP Maria Stark Okay so Rika Gasai I hope you don't mind but I think I am going to turn your little snippit here into something awesome. Senator Toleman had walked down the sidewalk to his car, unable to shake the wariness that he had felt since that morning. He got into the limousine and closed the door, he was safe now, surely, the car was bullet proof, what did he have to fear? A voice rang through his ear piece. “We have an intruder, I repeat we have and intruder at…. No, No, Please I have a family, HELP!” The sound of the body guard’s screams and plea’s for mercy sounded though the microphone along with a horrifying cracking noise. More voices and screams sounded over the com. Gun fire, and the sounds of body’s hitting the ground, as one by one the guards fell. Senator Toleman yelled at the driver to go. The car began moving and picked up speed. Toleman looked over his shoulder, though the back window, and saw him. The man dressed all in black, following the car at a comfortable pace. “Go faster!” Toleman yelled. “I can’t sir, there’s traffic.” The driver replied. Did he not understand what was going on? Toleman looked back through the window again, the man in black started to run, faster than the senator had ever seen anybody run. The assassin, for what else could he be, jumped and landed on the roof of the limousine. What can he do? Toleman thought. The car is bullet proof. An arm wrapped in metal burst through the roof and grabbed the driver, yanking him out though the hole it had made. Blood spilled onto the driver’s seat. Toleman reached out to grab the steering wheel, but the man’s arm reached back in and ripped the steering wheel from the car. The limousine swerved and hit the side walk. Toleman leaped from the vehicle and started running. He wasn’t sure were to. He just needed to run. Looking over his shoulder he watched the assassin jump off the roof of the car and begin to follow him. Comfortably keeping pace without effort. Making the senator’s strains look insignificant. Toleman turned and just kept running and running and running until he could run no more. He turned off the street into an ally way, sure that he had escaped his intended killer, he rested against the wall. Chest heaving, lungs burning, and then heard footsteps in the metal fire escape above him. The man in the black leather landed in front of Toleman. And turned around. He reached out and Toleman felt the cold metal wrap around his throat. But the cold of the metal was nothing in comparison to the cold, unfeeling darkness of the killer’s eyes as the senator choked out his last pleads for mercy. But there was none to be found. How I know all of this doesn’t matter. What does is that I do, and because I do, I know I am already dead. And so are you because now you know too. So I suggest you look over your shoulder from now on, because he’s coming for you next.
I'd really like to know exactly what all instruments they used for this. Because yeah, there were bits where you could pick out electric guitar, violins, flutes, dissonant horns, & drumbeats, but the sounds in this piece are so uniquely sharp & eerie. Obviously there are certain mechanical mixes (Bucky's scream when he fell off the train, tears), there are also sounds that sound so distinctly like something NOT made by instruments, like the things Bucky actually heard as the Winter Soldier: screaming, footsteps, mechanical whirring as though he were hooked to a machine, the rotations of helicopter blades, the acceleration of passing cars (or Steve & Bucky on motorcycles that've taken the form of my new religion), that 1 continuous eerie note like Hydra in his head, those blips of sound that cut to complete empty silence like Bucky flashing in & out of consciousness, the fading to & from silence like he's going in & out of cryo. I wanna know who/what made those sounds.
It seems to be a universally followed rule in the media composer industry - with a few exceptions - to hide or otherwise not disclose the software/hardware used to make a score. At the industry leading level it's guaranteed to have a fair amount of retro analogue synths because while virtual mockups can get very close sounding, nothing will ever sound quite like the physical wall of synths with hundreds of cables going everywhere.
Fun Fact: the hypnotically chilling screeching in the background of The Winter Soldier theme is actually the scream of Bucky when he fell off the train in the first movie, only it's distorted and mixed in to make the song ten times more darker. The techno noise in the background symbolically sums up Bucky's transformation into a literal, metallic killing machine. ;)
Some parts of this legitimately made me feel like I was hiding under my bed or in a closet, waiting in silence, not even breathing, praying to anyone who might be listening that the Soldier wouldn’t find me. One of the only times in my life I’ve ever had genuine fear struck into me by a piece of music.
Okay, it's like somebody asked Bucky to describe what it was like for him as the Winter Soldier, & he couldn't put it into words so he composed this eerie masterpiece. Seriously, you can connect every sound bit in this suite to something Bucky experienced as the Winter Soldier.
I can imagine that around 3:20 when we hear the drums and then silence and then the screams, we get a peak at what goes through the mind of the winter soldier sometimes. like sometimes he might get some small memories, like falling from the train, and he can't stop and think about it because he's not programmed that way. he just goes on. that's just my take on it
This theme gives me chills and goosebumps. Makes me imagine a battlefield in Russia, covered with dead U.S. and Soviet soldiers, with blood everywhere during the Cold War.
There was no fighting between the U.S and Soviet Union during the Cold War. It's a Cold War because they never did any fighting and just backed opposing ocuntries in other wars.
I know there was no direct conflict between the Americas and the Soviets. I simply said this them makes me picture a battlefield covered in dead American and Soviet troops
In the quiet of a desolate winter night, a chilling legend began to spread through the frozen streets. Whispers of the Winter Soldier, a sinister figure, haunting the outskirts of the city. Once an elite soldier, he fell victim to a dark experiment that stripped away his humanity, leaving only a cold, remorseless assassin in his wake. With a mechanical arm and eyes that glowed like frozen embers, he moved silently through the shadows, his every step leaving an icy trail behind. His victims were rumored to be those who knew too much, who stumbled upon the truth that others wanted to keep buried. Each night, the Winter Soldier would strike, leaving no trace behind except for the chilling echoes of his victims' final screams. As the temperature plummeted, fear gripped the hearts of the locals, and people spoke of a curse that befell anyone who dared to venture too close to his domain. Legend had it that if you made eye contact with him, your soul would be forever trapped in a frozen nightmare. One fateful night, a brave journalist set out to uncover the truth behind the Winter Soldier's reign of terror. Armed with a camera and a heart full of determination, she ventured into the heart of the frozen forest where the Winter Soldier was said to roam. As she trudged through the snow-covered trees, she felt an icy presence watching her every move. The air grew colder, and the sounds of her own breath echoed like a chilling whisper. But she pushed forward, driven by the desire to expose the truth. Suddenly, the Winter Soldier emerged from the darkness, his metal arm gleaming like a deadly blade. With his glowing eyes fixed upon her, he raised his weapon, ready to strike. But as he took a step closer, a flash of humanity crossed his cold expression. Something within him stirred, a flicker of the man he once was. The journalist saw an opportunity and reached out, desperately trying to break through the icy barrier that encased his soul. She spoke of his past, the memories he had lost, and the loved ones he had left behind. For a brief moment, it seemed like the Winter Soldier might regain his lost humanity. But as the winds howled around them, he shook his head and vanished into the darkness, leaving the journalist standing alone in the freezing night. From that day on, the legend of the Winter Soldier lived on, a tragic tale of a man lost to the darkness of his past. And though he continued to haunt the winter nights, there remained a glimmer of hope that one day, someone would succeed in thawing the frozen heart of the Winter Soldier and set him free from his eternal torment. 0:00
Honestly after hearing this It makes me believe that he is not a villain in any way shape or form. He is a victim and needs the fandoms love and respect
this song itself invokes a sense of anxiety in me which is absolutely bonkers and shows just how well written this score is. a phenomenal score for a phenomenal movie

OF COURSE ITS GOING TO BE the winter soldier is so cool, badass and terrifying **more= ep 3 tfatws spoilers** The fight scene he had in the bar in the criminal area had the theme in it he is a feral creature the theme needs to be terrifying it fits his character. The trauma he has had because of how he was still shakes him to this day and we know from how he fought following zemos order there is still part of the winter soldier in him. His character and theme is just SO well built it’s insane

Thank you
Now I can't sleep
My dude. Do you want a hug?
sksksksk that's such a cool perspective of it though
Goddamn. That was intense.
Love how they brought this back in falcon and winter soldier
I love the winter soldier theme it has a scary vibe through it and at the same time like a shadow in the dark kinda vibe
are we not gonna talk about how freakin awesome this picture/shot is...
I've listened to some of theses MCU suites, and compared to the light hearted movies, they're really dark and eery
WildGolemLord that’s what makes the MCU awesome as hell
This was honestly one of the more scariest themes I've heard. Very sudden and out of no where, the scream part kinda makes my skin crawl.
The metallic sound in the beginning is Bucky's scream when he's falls off the train but very distorted, if you listen closely you can actually hear it
I'm also 99% sure you can hear 'Bucky no!' When played at 2x speed
Where?
The tension during the last 40 seconds is off the charts! Great job!
This film was honestly one of the best films of the decade. The atmosphere, the tone, the fear, the score, all just perfect
Everyone: NO YOU CANNOT JUST USE A MOTORBIKE FOR BACKGROUND MUSIC!
Henry Jackman: Haha bike go vrooooom!
**flashbacks**
Another Barnes fan! : )
ok that flashback scene was FUCKING incredible and finally the chilling score is back.
The distorted scream that sounds like an eagle cry is so damn iconic.
Zemo: Soldier?
Winter Soldier: Ready to comply
Okay, it's like somebody asked Bucky to describe what it was like for him as the Winter Soldier, & he couldn't put it into words so he composed this eerie masterpiece. Seriously, you can connect every sound bit in this suite to something Bucky experienced as the Winter Soldier.
Here after Falcon And The Winter solider after this theme is relaunched
So much Nostalgia OMG
This is Awesome thank you once again for doin justice to these movies
My heart rate while listening to this: 📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈
"Your son was murdered by the Winter Soldier, and that was me..."
I can imagine that around 3:20 when we hear the drums and then silence and then the screams, we get a peak at what goes through the mind of the winter soldier sometimes. like sometimes he might get some small memories, like falling from the train, and he can't stop and think about it because he's not programmed that way. he just goes on.
that's just my take on it
5:28 holy shittt thats chilling asf
This theme gives me chills and goosebumps. Makes me imagine a battlefield in Russia, covered with dead U.S. and Soviet soldiers, with blood everywhere during the Cold War.
Battlefield in during the cold war lmao :D But yeah i get what you mean :)
And out of no where you start hearing this music and just think of real Winter Soldier
I think winter soilder is my favorite hero now
Mike Literious More like anti- hero.
@서현준" Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now".
"When is a monster not a monster?"
"When you love it."
This is spine chilling😳
I love how you can hear hints of this in the falcon and the winter soldier trailer
This and the prowler’s theme from into the Spider-Verse are my favorite villain themes ever!! So chilling, awesome, and exciting at the same time!!!
My favourite characterr
You here this theme and you know stuff is about do go real down
A total masterpiece of music... so chilling.... perfectly fits for bucky... love that ❤
this song itself invokes a sense of anxiety in me which is absolutely bonkers and shows just how well written this score is. a phenomenal score for a phenomenal movie
This sound is amazing it gives me the chills honestly
4:05 sounds like the home alone theme for a second
YES
Yeah that’s a bit of Zemos theme creeping in there lol
The fact that I fell asleep while listening to this last night just shows that my default state is anxious
If I was walking down the streets of my town at night, completely alone and this would start playing... I would know my life was over.
It's such a dark theme, gives goosebumps frrr
Amazing! Breathing new life to this theme!
People saying this is the most badass/scariest theme in marvel. OF COURSE ITS GOING TO BE the winter soldier is so cool, badass and terrifying **more= ep 3 tfatws spoilers**
The fight scene he had in the bar in the criminal area had the theme in it he is a feral creature the theme needs to be terrifying it fits his character. The trauma he has had because of how he was still shakes him to this day and we know from how he fought following zemos order there is still part of the winter soldier in him. His character and theme is just SO well built it’s insane
The " Master Piece " ,
Completes 7yrs,
Still Unparalleled,
Still The Best
This theme honestly fits the whole bucky brans/ winter soldier character very well 👌
I keep listening to it I it still gets me chills, miss his “villain character” days.
i still get chills, 7 years later. can't believe its been that long since such an amazing movie like that dropped.
this is the best theme i've heard in the MCU, it gets me so hyped and it gives me serious chills. i really hope they do some variant of it in Falcon and Winter Soldier!!
@1:23. So fucking epic. Comes from that “Supervillain Landing” Bucky does on that car after Natasha shot through Bucky’s RayBans. Straight chills
The silent screams in the beginning of each part reminds me EXACTLY of Quake 1 music. So good! Im surprised i havent seen anyone talk about it… had to come find this and comment in case another quake fan notices too!
This literally sends chills down my spine
Your back here cos of that scene In TFAWS
How did u know :0
I can't get this song out of my head...no matter how hard I try it always comes back...always comes back...
Thank God they bring Henry Jackman in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. And yes, this theme came back in episode 1.
