Great talk Molly. This was really a slap in the face for me. I would see those at college thriving and I always have this mindset that they're doing better than me because they're "better and faster" than me at learning without much effort. But they're probably been developing these skills since kindergarten with grit and perseverance and they do put a lot more effort into it than I do. Thank you so much, I've learned a lot from you + I'll share this with everybody. Best wishes!
Well I have listened a more than a thousand of Ted talks , but for this one. Must say" what an absolute phenomenal presentation." The body language is in complete resonance with her ideas .! Thanks molly ..! 🙏
Couldn’t agree more. Molly, you completely crushed it. Loved the personal stories, inspiring message on embracing drive over achievement and just your pure authenticity. Jerry McGuire better watch his back, he’s about to be replaced! Well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
"stop focusing on the competition against others and start focusing on competing against yourself." this sums up so much of what we should be striving for as people.
When you have the right mindset, then you will look for every single learning opportunity and learn. That is the key to growth and to success. Great talk because it spreads an extremely important lesson/point for parents, teachers and leaders.
This is why I love TED, we get to see great powerful women speak, and what makes it different from men, is authenticity. Beautiful Molly, just beautiful, women are strong too, stronger than men!
This makes so much sense to me... I hate when I do things good and people tell me "it's because you are smart." I always said, "Noooo. It's because I try hard."
Very powerful, mind transforming and if you think about it, "go out into the world and do something so you can talk about it". Sometimes its the simple stuff that gets you off the sofa.
Helping others to grow and evolve and become their best version of themselves is always important. Great job . Having an Evolved Mentality for Success is too important.
I am an artist, and people often say how they wish they were that talented or could do what I do- My response Is always ‘It is honestly just practice and tears’. Natural talent for anything is rare, persistence and dedication to something you aren’t naturally good at is even rarer, but by far more inspiring and empowering.
Could be one of the most straightforward and powerful talks on mindset. Molly takes it to the next level. You know if only schools taught this we might solve a lot of this countries issues.
I quite like you Molly Fletcher! From the practices picked up from your Father, to the Zigs of Zig, naturally driven by Sport & Performance, going out and doing something so you could talk about it and then delivering your observations & secrets like its just another fantastic energetic day here on earth. You are a wonderful role model.
I am a college student and from my personal observations of my peers, and myself i am a strong believer in this idea of " mindset" the mind is a very powerful tool and if manipulated correctly, it can bring you to incredible pinnacles.
Honestly when I've thought of being successful, I've always thought about it in a bigger picture kind of way but I am definitely understanding how that can hinder me long term! Thank you Ms Fletcher, this is an incredible talk.
She is so right. I’m training for a half ironman triathlon. At my age it’s a long road and I know the celebration after crossing the finish line is a short lived event. It’s too much work for too little reward so you have to enjoy the process of getting a little better everyday. Get just 1% better everyday and see what happens!
There is something behind these mindsets that motivates us to choose one or the other, the wish to be good. If we wish to be good (i.e selfless and work for the betterment of society) we will choose the right mindset naturally.
I was praised for being smart for 15 yrs as a child and lo I failed in my Law entrance exam. It was heart breaking and now I still have time to change things before someone overestimates it.
I really needed this after the day I've had. I got knocked so far down I don't know how I'll get back up, this video has helped me so much I need to pick myself up just because I'm at the bottom now doesn't mean I'll always be.
A champion has the courage to risk failure, knowing that setbacks are lessons to be learned. this video is a product of a global approach to performance.
This actually made me realize that I should put so much effort in order to achieve what I want in my life. I am so glad I stumbled upon this video, it really made an impact in my life.
This really does explain why a lot of people fail, while feeling like "something special". In that sense I know people who would "rest on their laurels" thinking that they cannot fail. And when they do the result is a severe inferiority complex. Molly, your talk really points this out clearly, and provides the solution. Thanks.
This Champion mindset thing is EXACTLY what I need. I never understood why I couldn't bring myself to achieve anything if I didn't get it right the first time, and to be honest it always bothered me. But this makes sense, and I'm going to start working on it. Thank you!
This proves that thinking only your goal and getting better everyday, work hard no matter how slow the progress whent the time comes you can be a champion. Thanks molly for sharing this great advice and motivation.
I so agree with the secrets of a champion, I am my only competitor. Though in all honesty it took me awhile to realise that. Today we have someone like Molly sharing her knowledge from inside the action. We are very lucky to have access to her in this way. Thank you.
Just one win can get you going on a path like what she is explaining, but constant failures will wear you down. From there, it is truly hard to get going when you are struggling.
Most of our cases of disappointments happened because of the ungrateful feeling when you expect the good things from others but they didn't appreciate your help or work after that your mind is remind you that lots of people didn't deserve your presence with them suddenly you begin to hate the outside of society and getting ill person.
In realising the importance of growth mindset, I'd like to remind myself the mind is not the master and my thoughts are nothing without discipline, practise and routine. I have to train my mind like I train my body. What's most important to me is flow, inner core strength and mother nature. It is my heart and soul that guides me and my brain and body require instructions.
I absolutely love your AUTHENTIC delivery, Molly! Your content captures the essence of success. A perfect example of following Mr. Ziglar’s guidance. I met you at The Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens a few years back as you keynoted for their Professional Women’s Day. Bought your book, A Winner’s Guide to Negotiating, and chatted a bit after the event. Happy to share your awesome 18min of wisdom! Many thanks for your inspiration. 👏👌
I like what this says about the role of a relationship within yourself. Fostering a connection to your higher self and being your own competitor. Learning to drive your own behaviour for performance and in life. There are two integral parts of me in simple terms. What I do and what I don't do contributes to the quality of my life. Listening to others and observing contributes to teachings of life. Basically you have to get out of your own way.
This talk is spot on. I have been working on a positive mind set for many years and am dramatically turning my life around. I start out each day with positive affirmations, it put my personality in drive mode..
Great talk ! Molly expresses better than any good book on the subject, how the growth mind-set applies to social interaction skills, as well as creative and sporting endeavours.
What an incredible talk! Fear of failing can stop so many things you want to do in life. But as you say, drive to get a little better every day is the way! Thank you!
Really impressive presentation! One sentence in particular really resonated with me (when you were speaking about the ‘best’): “They don’t have a rear-view mirror” 👍🏼
I was already impressed by the book of Carol Dweck, Mindset, it gave me so many new insights and ideas. This video is a confirmation that the growth mindset is very important to all of us. Thanks, great video :).
Even if I don't understand mainly what you said , but I have understood that , whatever comes in life on our way we need to overcome what situation is hard for us .
This is such a great video to learn and understand human behavior. A shared idea on the subject for people like me. High performing and "here let me sabotage this for you." This is about pushing through and challenging a 'set mind' far different from mindset. This can be used for all walks of life!
Yes, we are all fascinated by the game changers, but the work involved to be that person is something that many of us shy away from. You can’t envy someone without envying all hard work and effort they made.
"To have a fantastic collaboration with yourself: 1. Tell your mind what you want. 2. Link massive pleasure to going there and pain to not going there. 3. Change the pictures and the words. Using very detailed words."
Such amazing self-confidence, especially in terms of knowing that she could build that business up! Definitely taking all the advice I can get from her.

Great and very interesting speech, I like Molly Fletcher and love to listen to her. Thanks for sharing.
That's incredible. I think the most powerful aspect is how she phrased, applied, and exemplified the concepts. It's so simple, yet so powerful.
