The frustrating part for the past year or so is that I know exactly what I need to do to become part of the 6%. I struggle with focusing on the most important things because I have been taught for so long to focus on the tasks that aren't that important. When you're used to the cheap dopamine hits of the easy/smaller tasks, it's really difficult to make that switch to focusing only on the 8-10 level tasks

One thing at a time = work serially. No one can do more than one thing at a time. No matter how simple those things are. Work serially, not in parallel.

The last point sounds easy, focus on 10s, but that can be hard to put in practice. A good technique I use, think of your tasks as either a glass ball or a rubber ball. Start juggling the balls. What happens if you drop a glass ball? It breaks and will be very hard to repair. What happens if you miss a rubber ball? It bounces back, so the risk is less if you miss it. Look at your tasks as either a glass ball or rubber ball. Those things that will have significant consequences if you don't do them (glass ball), focus there first. Those that have some resiliency, do those tasks when you have time. You can’t avoid them; they just rate a lower energy level.

    2. Law of specification - Be very specific, granular about what you want to do..when...gym every day, 7 am to 8 am, to do X tasks, set alarm 30 mins early, will give myself penalty to do extra 30 mins in case this isn't done
    3. Focus on your tens - do your tens first...know your tens for the day, each and every day. Put a number to all your to do tasks..focus on the one thing that is 10....apply law of specification to it and do it for 30 days; then another thing for another 30 days...for whole year. You can change at least 10 things about you or your goals in a year. Focus... don't try it all. Make it happen one habit at a time.

Some good points - the law of specification is vital, it's follow on principle is equally important: you need to 'see' what you want, in specific detail. For those that can not reach goals, they are often too broad, the goal is not clear enough. If you can't 'see' it, you can't got here. Learn to break the goals down as she says, and small steps you'll get there. Then you wil start to believe in yourself, and the fear and uncertainty will dissapear over time.

    1. Take charge of your brain - be willing to do something different; your 🧠 brain utilises 20% of overall body energy to maintain status quo and conserve energy. Brain hates to do new things and holds you back and keeps you busy with the same habits and routines. That's the deal it offers you....don't take the deal - do something different...
