- In last night's vice presidential debate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) and Ohio Senator JD Vance (R) went head to head on several issues, including immigration, abortion and democracy. Walz called out the threat former President Donald Trump poses to our democracy and asked Vance about his thoughts on the 2020 election. Vance danced around the question. One reason Trump didn't participate in the transfer of power was so he could keep the Stop the Steal lie alive and continue milking his supporters for millions of dollars.

It's because of the position vance could end up finding himself in four years from now. He couldn't give a straight answer which left plenty of room to doubt he'd do anything other than what he would be told to do. I didn't and don't like Pence, but at least he had the spine to do the right thing.

Unfortunately, it took his SON to convince Pence to do the right thing on Jan 6th.
Keep in mind that a lot of the GOP are cowards towards someone they see as authority. And the fact that I would bet a lot of them have criminal records that only being part of that thin red line of the party allows them to escape prosecution means they will bow and scrape to the party leader no matter what happens.
When we realize this, nothing the GOP does should surprise us.

Not really. I'm seeing a lot of folks able to see through Vance's slimy nature. He was smooth, but also came off as very fake, especially when he was momentarily fact checked on the legality of the Haitian migrants.

If I look at it from an unbiased point of view(and if I was an independent voter), it was pretty even until Vance dodged the 2020 election question if whether or not Trump lost. At that point, Walz won. I hope independents paid attention when Walz asked him that question and Vance failed to answer! that should be a deal breaker. Vote blue. Harris/Walz 2024.

Vance would not commit to Trump losing in 2020 , Vance would not promise to accept the results of the 2024 election. As for the transfer of power in 2021 , Donald Trump wasn't even in town for Biden's inauguration. Two weeks after ordering the insurrection and attack on the Capitol, Trump had moved on to Florida. His not being in DC to participate in the inaugural festivities, though not the scene of violence of two weeks earlier , it certainly was not a peaceful transition. Trump is in fact the president leaving office alive to not attend the inauguration of his successor. Vance would not commit to any of these known truths. Debate goes to Walz.
Tech billionaires paid good money to buy that Ohio Senate seat for J D Vance and then got Trump to name him as his VP candidate. Also, Trump is very old, and so they may end up owning a President Vance someday soon. That's a terrific Return on Investment (ROI)
My favourite part of Vance's response is "I'm focused on the future, now let me re-hash some debunked issue from 4 years ago about censorship when Trump was in office"

The ULTRA-CONSERVATIVE Supreme Court Judges violated the 9th Amendment when they threw out Roe v Wade based on the fact that it is not a right defined anywhere within the Constitution.

It specifically denies them the right to use that as a reason.
