Off topic but important. I’m a PA voter. I called the Secretary of State’s Office today to ask how long after Election Day will our State’s votes be counted and the winner known. They replied “up to 45 days.” The PA legislators failed to pass legislation to allow pre-canvassing of mail ballots during the last 3 years, hence the delay. What a disgrace.

Give each seat it's own electronic voter that's covered, so the hand slides in & pushes 1, 2, cancel, or enter. If you need to know who voted for whom, lock them up & open them in 50yrs. But, is it more important to know who voted for whom, so they can feel pressured & get harassed or is it more important to get an honest vote? President Biden had several go to him & apologize b/c they were afraid of NOT lying. And the real kicker of course is that in all the US history prior to Trump, no voter (or non voter) has ever woken up on inauguration day to find that their democracy has been replaced by a neofascist P25 dictatorship driven by a power mad lunatic criminal and civil fraud! 249 years of democracy has been a beacon of light for the world yet at home has created an attitude of complacency. And it is this complacency that has stopped the majority of Trump supporters from investigating the issues brought forth by concerned responsible and informed political sources both left and right. They don't investigate what led up to Jan 6/21, what happened that day, what did NOT happen and the aftermath of that day. They don't understand that it was Trump's reckless and unprecedented $8T in spending that led to the rabid inflation that much of the world experienced along with the US (given the world wide importance of the US economy). Granted, Covid played a part as well but the financial impact of that cannot be blamed on US politics. How many Trump supporters watched the video of Trump calling for the 'Vote to end all votes'? Do they understand what that means?? Hopefully this Trump era is a kick in the pants for ALL people presently (or capable of coming into) in the rational camp to stop taking democracy for granted. Knowledge is power. Democracy has to be defended each and every election. Dictator Donald or some other magaT successor, only have to win once to plunge the country into a chaos that will NOT be remedied without a far greater bloodbath than even Trump called for, ironically should he lose!

From what I understand, Rep Goldman is a wealthy heir to the Levi's fortune and was a successful trial lawyer for many years. He didn't get into public service to enrich himself or gain status or fame; he actually wants to serve the public as a representative of the people. He runs circles around fools like Jim Jordan during House committee hearings. I've cheered him on many times when he stands up for common decency and for the rights of The People. I'm in TX and my senators are Ted Cruz and John Cornyn, my rep is a guy named Brian Babin who's a Trump sycophant. Goldman's constituents are very lucky!

To be specific, the House needs a majority vote in order to impeach any federal official; but after that it must be tried by the Senate which needs a ⅔ supermajority to convict. The Senate is so closely divided (thanks to the Missouri Compromise) that this threshold is very difficult to achieve. Congresswoman Acasio-Cortez (D-NY) introduced articles of impeachment against Justices Thomas and Alito back in July (H. Res.’ 1353, 1354 - 118th Congress) but these have been stuck in the House Committee on the Judiciary which is currently chaired by Jim Jordan (R-OH) so is unlikely to ever come to the floor for a vote.
For federal judges and president: the House starts impeachment trial with a simple majority vote; then the Senate has a "trial" to convict, requiring 2/3 of Senate voting in favor of conviction.

Why can’t congress impeach these judges. Granted MAGA won’t pass it but can’t 218 signed petitions bypass the GOP MAGA majority

To be specific, the House needs a majority vote in order to impeach any federal official; but after that it must be tried by the Senate which needs a ⅔ supermajority to convict. The Senate is so closely divided (thanks to the Missouri Compromise) that this threshold is very difficult to achieve.
Congresswoman Acasio-Cortez (D-NY) introduced articles of impeachment against Justices Thomas and Alito back in July (H. Res.’ 1353, 1354 - 118th Congress) but these have been stuck in the House Committee on the Judiciary which is currently chaired by Jim Jordan (R-OH) so is unlikely to ever come to the floor for a vote.
For federal judges and president: the House starts impeachment trial with a simple majority vote; then the Senate has a "trial" to convict, requiring 2/3 of Senate voting in favor of conviction.
