BIG Things in 2023!

- 2022 was a fantastic year. The Ranalah wheeling machines were built. We made a lot of progress on the barn-find Porsche 356 restoration. And the VW Camper Van was up and running! But there's still a lot more to come. Let's have a little rundown of what's coming up in 2023...

I'm a year behind in watching your videos, I shall have to hunt down the new show. There are a lot of creative people around and the one thing that crops up all the time when talking to them is the lack of truly affordable workshop space.

Is 007 going to Pinewood Studios perhaps? Where they used to film the Bond films. One of the biggest indoor studios in the world.

Congrats on the Ranalah project. It is a truly inspirational thing you have done. I trained as a Traditional Boat Builder in Cornwall back in 2010. I don't work in the trade these days but i am extremely grateful that i had the opportunity to go and learn the skills and be among incredible knowledgeable crafts men and women. I regularly dig out my tools like my caulking iron just to feel the weight of it in my hand. Your enthusiasm for heritage is a pleasure to witness and it gives me great inspiration to get out and try new skills (my sign writing needs a bit more practice but my lettering is definitely getting there!!) I strongly believe that people should use their hands and be creative as much as they can. The reward of being able to stand back and look at something that you have produced (or repaired i guess!) is like nothing else.
Inspired by all the makers on the Repair Shop, my 8 year old daughter asked us for a sewing machine for her Christmas present. To see her happily working away with compete focus and determination producing various costumes and furnishings for all sorts of teddy bears knocks me to the ground with pride.
I wish you all the best of luck for your future projects in 2023 and beyond.

Happy New Year Dom! What you are doing with Make It At Market is wonderful. I just wondered is there a way your followers can contribute to raising the profile of the makers you are highlighting? There are a network of organisations that support enterprise and a separate network that supports people with barriers to (conventional) employment. What you are doing is exceptional because it links these together seamlessly. I was so moved by Morgan, Belinda and Paul's journeys. What a start to the year!💯

Thought you might like to know that the Ranalah I saw at P&A Wood (the classic Rolls Royce and Bentley people) just before Christmas was sporting a rather fine hood cover for the bottom wheel. Better than any Christmas jumper, perhaps the Bear Ladies could sort you a bear cover for your machine. Paul
