I adopted a kitten who is half Siamese (mother was a purebred who got out one night and got pregnant by an unknown bengal + domestic shorthair of some kind) and she exhibits all the traits of the breed. Chatty with her constant meows (not just for food or play, sometimes she just wants to meow to me), answers to her name when called and will rush to whoever said it, playful, always wants to be by my side / hates being alone, exceptionally smart and curious (the easiest animal I have litter trained and is the best hunter I’ve ever seen), and she loves being the center of attention. Sometimes when my significant other and I are cuddling on the couch, she’ll sandwich herself in between us so that we’re also hugging her while cuddling. She honestly has more in common with my brother’s dog than with any other cat I’ve known, and it makes me so happy when I come home from work to her. She’ll immediately stop playing with her toys or sleeping, and run towards me to get hugs and kisses because she missed me that much.
reving19 My condolences. I have also had my heart broken losing an elderly cat. It's not fun. My Siamese cat is 13 years old and kicking quite well. I will be so sad and lost when she leaves me. I know it's not easy but I suggest getting a baby Siamese. New life in your home and having a baby there helps alot with greiving. I got this one when my 16 year old tabby cat passed from cancer. It's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. Get a baby, they need a good home and they need the security and comfort you can give. You won't regret it.
I’m so sorry, kidney problems are what I’ve lost all of mine to… my son’s little guy made it to 20 yrs, 6 months before it was obvious that he wanted to go. 😢
Siamese are so smart. My Siamese, Buster, taught himself how to pee in the toilet, and his sister, Coco Chanel, taught herself to open doors with the door knob. I'm working on teaching Buster how to flush and Coco to close the door behind her. Not going well. That's what I'm for, I guess.
Is this a Siamese thing?? I’ve never heard of any other cats teaching themselves how to pee in the toilet, but my lynx point, Tut, decided he didn’t like sharing his litterbox with my two rescues. He only uses the toilet now; I think he prefers the cleanliness of it. But yeah, he doesn’t flush, but I’m not complaining.
Our Heidi was a Siamese mix (half Siamese, half something else) but she was all Siamese- same build, same personality, and she had a regular 'cat' voice, not that raspy tone that some Siamese halve. She was smothered with love and was with us for nineteen years.
Many (most) authorities assert Siamese have average life expectancy between 11 to 14 years. I.E. shorter lived than the average moggie. That's been my experience too, having owned 4 over the years. www.petplan.co.uk/pet-information/cat/breed/siamese/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siamese_cat

I've never had newborn Siamese kittens, just little ones taken from their mom at 8 weeks. A very unique breed, worth every minute.

That story of "only for royalty" should have been buried years ago.
Ahahah... Bellissimi. Ne ho uno anche io
Me piense es la verdad!
Siamese cats actually are short lived cats, The Thai cats are long lived cats
My cat give birth two saimese and one is black color
Father is Hobbit? Or shorthair
That story about their being reserved for royalty is lonnnggg overdue for being buried with a stake through its heart. As are most or the other myths.
That is true, Thai royal cats are Siamese and were first introduced to the US as a gift from Thai king in 1915
Coldplay clocks 0:13
Siamese cats are a royal pain in the ass
