    Fascinating to see Sharp Practice played on such a huge table. It quite charges the dynamic of the game to have units making long approach marches on table.
    I tend to run more narrative-focused scenarios with SP. I think it’s at its best recreating thrilling tales of daring adventure rather than as just another set of horse and musket battle rules.
    Having said that your games look great fun and if you enjoy them that’s all that matters.

      Thanks so much! I want to get the campaign rules that the Lardies created for it to capture more of that "ongoing story' feeling. I hope you have a spectacular weekend my friend 👍

      Thanks Dom! Sharp Practice is awesome and brutal. I'm about to try The Men who Would be Kings with ACW and I'm hoping that won't be too brutal (if there is such a thing). I guess there is Rebels and Patriots if it's too savage. Have a fantastic weekend 👍

    With all your experience, Sir, could you kindly set up a "Tutorial Series" for us greenhorns all over the world?
    Helping us to understand the rules by showing the game's mechanics and how to play a first "simulated battle" step by step.
    I want to get a "Zouaves' meeting" with CSA and US-guys meeting together with "Dragoons" and regular infantery with muskets and rifels. But I am quite unshure how to learn to start with reasonable results without tresspassing the rules permanently. So it would be very helpfull to been teached in what situation what rule is getting grip (as we say in Germany) and why - so a slowlier play style and s life comment onto the recently relevant rules would be highly apprechiated to get teached by the professional gamers. As we allway hear a bit here and a bit there but no real boot camp ever started on YT for ACW.
    Best wishes from Berlin, Christian
    Can you help the newbies?

      That sounds good to me. I have tried to adopt a more "tutorial" style battle report over the last several months. Hopefully, you will be able to notice that as you watch my newer stuff. I was one of those Greenhorns not too long ago, so I totally understand your request.
      I appreciate your commenting, and please let me know if I can be of any assistance as you progress in the hobby! Have fun my friend and have a fantastic weekend 👍

    First time watching an ACW battle. Great game and although not a colourful as some other genres I really like those figures
    Question for Steve, was there something preventing the Union artillery from unloading on the Confederate column that crossed the bridge ?.

    • @basement1908
      @basement1908  6 месяцев назад +1

      They were out of the arc of fire and I didn't want to waste an action rotating when I was hammering that Confederate Line to the front. I thought about it though. The doubling shock with cannister might have been a game changer

    • @BrixtonTone
      @BrixtonTone 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@basement1908 Yeah, I thought it might be connected to the angle of the cannon, but hell yeah, pouring some canister shot into the Confederates whilst they were still in column would have shredded them and definitely changed things. Thanks again for a great game Steve, looking forward to your next production

    When you have x3 groups of 8 infantry, do they always shoot together or can you split them up as 3 groups of 8 infantry and shoot one time with each group?

    • @basement1908
      @basement1908  Месяц назад

      I'm a little rusty on SP, but I'm 90% sure if all 3 groups are in the same formation they fire together until they are split off into an individual group.

      @@basement1908 I only ask because my figures are based with 4 figures on a base and 24 figures is to me a regiment.
