    Thanks for the excellent game. It was very interesting adaptation of Sharp Practice. I liked your use of lots of figures. I think it worked very well.

    Truly epic Sharp Practice, very interesting to see. Has this variation been published at all?
    Well done, enjoy your anniversary 👍

      Thanks Paul. I am not aware of this being published. I actually just mentioned trying this in one of my Black Powder or General d'armee games and a member of the community wrote an awesome post basically explaining how to do the whole thing. I just took his idea and ran with it a year or two later (I was like, why not 🤣).
      Have a great week!

    Hello pal! Loving your videos now. A drastic improvement from the first few, really enjoying seeing the progress. One thing I haven't paid attention to until now... can you please explain (or direct me to) the card system you are using? I've seen it before, but can't place it.
    Keep up the good work!

      Thanks so much. I was debating about making a video covering every landmine I've stepped on so far while learning to make halfway decent battle reports. Maybe it would help somebody else out in the future to avoid some of the issues I have had.
      Still, it had been a fun journey! Thanks for the feedback! The cards are from the Two Fat Lardies game Infamy Infamy.
      Have a great week my friend!

    Great to see this expansion of SP, especially as I'm planning to do something similar. I've tried expanding Chain of Command and it only takes a few changes to make the rules work well with larger forces. Artillery seems to be something that's hard to get right in rules or is it just that players like to argue about it? Thanks for another entertaining battle.

    • @basement1908
      @basement1908  Год назад

      Artillery is a struggle. It's a fine line between being a paper tiger or recreating the Death Star! It was fantastic trying out something I have never played before!

    so much better with adverts every 5 minutes!

    • @basement1908
      @basement1908  Год назад +4

      LOL, that was a total rookie mistake by me. I finally took the time to go in and edit advert timing instead of just doing the default (the default frequency is insane).
      By the time I get done editing these videos I'm worn out and didn't take enough time to play with all the RUclips options. That's my bust.
      It really is a hobby within a hobby, learning all the editing software, tweaking sound effects to the right volume and all the other things. I'm sure I will get the perfect video out by 2039 🤣

    I have been enjoying watching you battle reports. I've noticed in this game and your ACW ones but just curious whether it's a house rule for one dice of movement per activation for infantry. The rules p.22 (Unit activations) and p.32 troop Movement allows 2 dice per activation, one for each of the two actions, plus another if you want to run it then with one point of shock. Light infantry in effect do the same without the shock.

      Hey Larry, Nope. I probably just screwed that up. I'm off to refamiliarize myself with that page 🤣. Thank you for hooking me up!

    Guys, it's not Viscount in pronunciation; it is Vi (as in vye) count. Not important, just sort of grates. I've not watched this in full yet but brownie points for using SP2 for sucn a complex battle!

    If you want to supplement your British forces for Napoleonic wars conducted during the peninsular war, look into picking up Portuguese troops - tho you can use a lot of the British uniforms too just dyed (painted) in Portuguese colours.
    It’s was extremely common as well at the time for Portuguese and British troops to fight together as well.
    A British brigade would be made up of 3 British battalions and 1 Portuguese battalion and 1 Rifle Company from either the 95th or 5/60th.
    They’d also usually take the light company from the 3 British and Portuguese battalion along with the Rifle Company and form them into a Light Battalion on paper either commanded by a major from the brigade staff or the highest ranking captain of the 5 company granted the title of major while in command of the light battalion.
    For a British division it would be 3 British brigades (as described above) and 1 Portuguese brigade (essentially a similar brigade style but all Portuguese troops).

      Thank you kindly! That is awesome information. Portuguese troops are definitely on my to-do list ! Have a fantastic rest of your day my friend!

      Yeah, I agree with you. I really tried to capture the possibility that Soult was trying to accomplish by catching the British out of place. I don't think it 100% worked. It was a blast to play and I wanted something different than the French walking into a well prepared BuzzSaw. Have a great rest of your day my friend!

    Nice game. Deployment was to slow by the British. Perhaps a bit longer back for deployment.

    Where did the guard come from? Neither the French nor any other guard units were at Albuera. I don't even think the Imperial Guard were even in Spain at the time.

    The Artillery is ridiculously overpowered. Realistically, Infantry sheltered by a stone wall would not take that much damage from Cannister shot at point blank range. Artillery were just not that accurate at that period.

    • @basement1908
      @basement1908  Год назад

      I agree. Sharp Practice definitely not designed for three 12lbs Cannons to be fired simultaneously (especially at a solitary skirmish unit). Have a fantastic rest of your week my friend!
