    Painting white is definitely an intimidating one. I’ve painted a ton of Austrians but have plenty more to go. I think my plan moving forward will be to give them a wash, dry brush off white, use the AK markers for straps, and speed paints on everything else. Stellar looking game and thanks for sharing!!!!!!

    Just a few British flags is an understatement! haha. First time coming across this channel and here to stay. I collect 15mm Napoleonics, however, I'm very new and just started only have one regiment painted, however have 5 to go plus cannon battery's and four cavalry regiments too. I noticed two green regimental flags in the British, I think they're 69th Lancaster Regiment, which is my second 15mm regiment I'm painting now. Huzzah! Looking great. And a spectacular paint job on all the miniature's.

    • @basement1908
      @basement1908  4 месяца назад

      Excellent sighting, my friend! The 69th is serving in the 2nd Brigade under Stuart. It's awesome that you are getting into Napoleonics and a smart move going with a smaller scale! You will have a blast! Have a fantastic week, my friend 👍

    Get job. Love seeing different set ups. My game room is in the living room. It usually has a time limit. I use 4 custom folding tables that I can break down and store in another room. My models are 25mm Minifigs from the late 70s and 80s. I really like the 28mm models. They are much more animated than the old models. You have done a lot of work. Napoleonic tables look amazing with all the masses of troops.

      Thanks, Rick! Its awesome that you can still set up a big game at home whenever you want to. I'm guessing you have been in the hobby a while since "having minifigs" soldiers is a strong indication of being "Old School ". I kick myself almost everyday for not getting into the wonderful hobby sooner!

    Hey Steve - it is such a great gaming space you have access to and I am sure many of us are super envious - I know I am. Really looking forward to watching this one and I am sure it is going to be some great company while I soldier on with my slow slow painting of my naps. I have just invested in the epic scale french naps by Warlord - it is a real mind shift painting something of that scale - I posted my first completed base on the PCP facebook page if you are interested. I think it is going to bring a different level of maneuver to the games with the scale. Have you thought about doing that scale as well? Cheers mate have a great game and week ahead.

    • @basement1908
      @basement1908  4 месяца назад

      Yes, and yes! Thanks, Craig, for commenting ! Awesome work on the Epic stuff. I am very much looking forward to smaller scales with more maneuvering. The only concern I have with maneuvering and battle reports is causing boredom. With many of my systems where I have fewer models on the table, I have plenty of room for tactical maneuvering. This might be an issue of mine, but I feel like it isn't very exciting to watch me taking 30 minutes to execute a masterful flanking maneuver. I love doing that kind of thing, but I don't think I have yet to discover how to successfully incorporate that into a battle report. I will work on that. I better get it figured out before I have two huge 6mm ACW armies. Have a great week my friend 👍

    Looking forward to the battle.
    However, I feel you make the same mistakes as with your previous games, that is too many and too large units. This leaves little room to manoeuvre and makes the armies just go straight ahead and get into the fighting. (Which may be your thing. But is not realistic. And also makes for a dullish game.)
    I do have to say it looks great, but more from a display perspective.

    • @basement1908
      @basement1908  4 месяца назад +2

      It is getting a bit tight on the battlefield, I agree. I am looking forward to adding that extra 12 feet in the room next door. To be honest, I will probably make the same mistake and make more troops and run into the same issue with congestion. Have a fantastic weekend 👍

  • @shawnzeppo4361
    @shawnzeppo4361 4 месяца назад

    As a fellow 25mm guy, I am thinking you have taken the hobby to its limits (and as noted below, reach is the limiting factor if room size is not). But there is always that old school part of my brain thinking... SURE it looks amazing, but think how much MORE you could have, including room to maneuver and simulate more great battles; not just the highest intensity areas, if only you had started collecting 15mm in the first place? The scaling laws (area vs. volume is appropriate here) inform us you would have 2.78x MORE battlefield in the usual 15mm. Plus the minis would be so much faster to paint, while giving you a similar level of eye candy on the tabletop - as long as you don't zoom in really close.

    • @basement1908
      @basement1908  4 месяца назад +1

      If only I knew about epic scale or 6mm when I started down this wonderful rabbit hole. I'm trying to paint 6mm, but I just haven't found the same motivation that I have for 28mm yet. I'm not sure that I've reached the limit yet for my present table size (plus I'm on the verge of adding another 6 x 12 foot extension). I think this battle will be a blast, and I can't wait to keep on growing this wonderful hobby. I appreciate your feedback, and I hope the rest of your week is fantastic!
