By the way, at 4:44 if yours still says 60hz, check to make sure that the resolution option 1920 x 1080 is selected under "PC" rather than "Ultra HD, HD, SD". That's what was keeping mine at 60hz, but it was fixed once I changed it.

doesnt work i have a 2 capture cards 1 with 60hz one with 30hz as soon when i clone my screen it says 144hz but in game i see lagg 30fps but on the fps counter it says 300+ fps
Everything works perfectly. Only question, is it normal for my monitor to go black when i alt+tab out of fullscreen games for a few seconds? It's very annoying...
yes, its annoying but i take this option over serious input lag

Do note that this does not work for monitors that are 2560x1440p @ 144hz or higher. It will only work for 1920x1080p up to 200hz or similar.
Personally had to downscale to 1080p on the 1440p.

Any one knows how to run your monitor on 240hz while streaming and recording on 60hz through elgato? Everything works fine its just my monitor is now stuck on 60hz rather than 240hz

dont work. whenever i plug in the elgato my screen goes to my desktop and im unable to do anything or see any icons. When I disconnect elgato from pc it goes back to normal.

Brother I have followed all the steps provided. Everything works fine but when i'm trying to play stretched on fortnite it's just constantly fuzzy and I literally dunno why? Both monitors like you said say 144hz when I hover over them. I'm using a DVI cable, one monitor, Elgato HD60S and still got no luck at all! I can play standard native resolution fine though. Any way of solving this?

Im confused with this, I got a new monitor and the hd60pro wouldnt let me display my consoles in anything but 1080p. I have a nvidia so if I do this ill be able to display my ps5 in 1440p with the capture device?

For some reason when I plug my GTX 1080 HDMI to my Elgato HD60 Pro IN and the DisplayPort cable from the GTX 1080 to my monitor. I just get a black screen. Does anyone have any idea what might be happening? I can use the HDMI cables perfectly fine but I don’t get 144hz, only 60hz. What can I do? 😭
make sure you have multiple monitors setup in nvidia control panel bc it needs to know what to do, also make sure thr dsp cable works properly and you change input. Also make sure the main display is the dsp cable from the gtx 1080ti and not the hdmi
Where do you plug in the hdmi from your streaming camera with this setup??? The only option I have to plug in mine, is in to the MOBO itself - the gpu has only 1 hdmi & 3 dpi’s.
I don't think this works, I have done al this, and alot of diffrent stuff, but i keep getting 60Hz even when it says 165hz/144hz in my nvidia control panel, when i test my hz at www.testufo.com/

same here. even went as far as testing in game, playing on 144 and then capping at 60 fps to see if there is a difference. always a difference when screens aren't cloned but can never tell if they are. truly sad

is this for two pc's though? because although I could capture my desktop fine, loading a game usually ran at 2560x1440p forced it to revert to 1080p and i couldn't change it.

how come when ever I click on to another monitor thats not the one being cloned the screen goes black and my whole pc lags for 5 seconds but this only happens when i have my fortnite in fullscreen but when its in windowed fullscreen its fine but i then get switched to 60fps... is there any way to fix this?

is your main a 1440p? i had that problem as well, becaue its converting the signal from 1440 to 1080
that's normal. youre converting 144hz to 60hz then back to 144hz. Normal, you'll get used to it. Idk if its a VRAM issue or not but i take it over massive input lag.

I'm trying to use shadowplay to record my console game (series x). My main monitor is both a display for my PC and my display for my console using HDMI and DP respectively. Is this the workaround to record console gameplay?
everything for me works out good, but the screen resolution for me is maxed out to 1920x1080 instead of 2560x1440. once i clone them together, they'er both at 144hz but the screen res is 1920x1080. Someone please help
So I bought this Elgato 4k60 Pro today. My monitor is only capable of 1440p 144hz max. I connected it with two HDMI cables. (HDMI IN > Elgato) and (HDMI out > to Monitor). When I go to display settings it says my native resolution is that of my graphics card RTX 3070 which is 3840 x 2160. IF I change both to 1440p and then restart my PC it will lock it to 1440p. However, its as if the Elgato doesn't even know its connected and it will not work. I have a green screen when I open OBS as well and can only see the top left corner of my active monitor. I'm starting to wonder if the way you have it connected in your video "using Display Port cable" is the only way to get this to work? I know my monitor came with one but I cant find it lol. So right now I'm trying to get this to work and banging my head against the wall.

Can someone help, Everytime I plug the elgato the HDMI cable into the elgato or into the PC after the display cable is in the PC. My my monitor will freeze into my desktop screen... Can someone help me please. I don't know what to do 😟. I'll screen share on discord with someone of they could help me out
make sure your drivers are updated and you configure the elgato before you plug in the dsp cable bc it needs to know to clone with your main one. The elagto should act as a second monitor instead of the main one

@@AaronMcGuirk how or where do you set the elgato to run as a clone? I have 2 monitors that I use to monitor stream and one that I game on both console and PC. my 2070 has two display ports and one HDMI and my two side monitors only run on DsP.

make sure you have one going from the elgato to the gpu and one from the gpu to the monitor. it sounds like you didnt set up the multiple displays properly.
I actually got it to work. I just added another hdmi that goes from my Elgato to my monitor.

Well, after doing this, it does work. However, my Elgato doesn’t support 1440, so the monitor will switch to 1080. Trash. Bummer, as I thought I had a fix for my issue. Anyone know how to do this and still keep the 1440 resolution on the monitor and just have the Elgato record in whatever it’s rated for? Thanks

Hi guys, I am looking to buy elgato capture card for my dual PC streaming setup. I'm watching youtube videos all day for bypassing 60hz gaming monitor and game on 165 hz 1440p instead. There is an option with your elgato actin as your second cloned monitor. That is very nice solution but i really want to know what is the performance loss with this monitor cloning. I have my finger on buy now if there is no noticeable performance loss. Tnx.

I did this, but now when I alt+tab out of fullscreen on games, the screen goes blank for 5 seconds before switching
That just happens, doesn't take much time to get used to and by this time you prob already did
Try changing the game to borderless instead of fullscreen
i did it but it glitches hard when i try to tab out is that normal and i have no game chat its cause i have a cheap avermedia capture card i think

Mine worked but I’m not getting game sound through the elgato when I record so when my recording is done, I can only see the gameplay not hear it. Do you know how to fix it?
Make sure you change your audio to filter through one channel in the elgato software and then change your windows main audio to the elgato output. I highly suggest using a software the voicemeter to filter and run audio channels. But you can record both depending on how you capture audio.

Hi, i'm trying to cannect my elgato hd60s+ to my pc (gpu->hdmi->elgato in and gpu -> displayport cable -> 144hz monitor) I can clone everything and everything works fine BUT i always need to put in an hdmi out to my monitor as well?? Otherwise i only can see the taskbar on my pc and when i click on something i can't see anything pop up? All youtube vids are without the hdmi output. Any idea what i'm doing wrong here ?
sounds like your elgato is being made a extra monitor. from there you want to make sure your primary display is set

Doesn't work if the screen is also higher than 1080p.
I need help I get the 240hz now but when I stream I drop really bad frames all the sudden and i never had this issue before
In Nvidia Control Panel, it shows the Elgato is set to the 144hz setting but when i get into Modern Warfare to play, it goes maxed at 60fps. HELP

The issue is that when you play a game in over 60fps, it’s recognizing the Elgato as the monitor and won’t go above 60fps.
You can run multiple displays at different Hz... does it lock a display to the lower Hz if mirrored? It shouldn't.
