- I didn't find this video on youtube, so I thought I'd share :)
The director of Truly Madly Deeply, Anthony Minghella, shares his experiences on making the movie.
For all of you too eager to get to Alan's part, he first shows up at 3:21 ;) I was gonna cut it to just Alan's part, but I thought it'd be a shame to miss out on the rest of the documentary
Thank you so much for having this on RUclips, it takes me back to 1990, back before there was an internet and if you couldn't get enough of something you actually had to leave the house. I saw it about a million times in the theater This movie was so perfectly written, directed and cast and the themes so universal--it's what movies are all about. Alan Rickman, you were brilliant in everything you did, but you'll always be Jamie to me.
Thank you for this, I adore the poem scene, one of my favourite scenes. To see the thoughts behind the process was such a gift. Again, thank you.
This window into the artistic collaboration among such a gifted and charismatic group of people makes me love the movie even more.
Thank you for everything.... <3 Rest in PEACE
Thanks so much for this film.
Alan... Jamie... Severus... I love it all💕😭
Clouds are the enduring symbol. My favorite scene is when Stevenson and Rickman watch clouds drift by and then sing THE SUN AIN'T GONNA SHINE ANYMORE..."the tears are always clouding your eyes..." Jamie gave her the cloud mobile. And the early scene with Nina and Mark, above and between them are clouds symbolizing Jamie. At the end, Nina looks out her window, sees the clouds drifting past. She shuts the window, puts Jamie's cello back in its case, turns off the light and goes to meet Mark.
Fantastic film...acting...characters. Heart breaking,romantic,funny...touching,makes me cry ugly tears, laugh and giggle..touches my heart. It is on my must get list.😊
Thanks so much for uploading this great video! And LOVE LOVE LOVE your youtube name!
I saw this in my 30s, rented it from the local video store. I have had a deep fondness for all of the actors in it ever since.
