I saw the HBO Rasputin production a couple years ago and thought Alan Rickman was a star to watch as he would surely be very successful. Then I noticed it was a 1996 production. Someone said Alan was Professor Snape. I had read the books but not seen the movies. I watched clips and thought he was great. Then I found out he had died. (I have relatives who work in the film industry, who have worked with most of the stars, but they never worked with Alan.)
That's exactly what happened to me. He has bewitched me with his talent, intelligence, quick wit, voice, kindness, generosity, class, and so many other qualities... and all this, posthumously. Wish I had known more about his work while he was still alive... discovering him so late only makes me regret his death so much more. He was an outstanding actor and an exceptional human being, not sure many men are like that anymore. RIP, Alan. You are sorely missed. ♥
I remembered that I was impressed by his performance, acting, and charisma in Die Hard, but sadly I didn't put too much thought on him back then. And one day when I googled him, I suddenly realized that he had already passed away without me knowing it, and it just shocked me. I've been so depressed since then, about a month now, thinking about the fact that I'd never had the chance to meet him, to see him, to listen to his charming voice again. It just broke my heart. Alan Rickman was definitely that kind of existence that would make people feel like there's something missing in their hearts when it's gone.
What a wonderful man and actor he was. A very rare combination of that down to earth, kindness and generosity and sense of humor he had. He wasn't like many Hollywood types who had egos bigger than their mansions. It isn't right what happened to him. We and the world were robbed of a wonderful person and talent. RIP Alan. You are very much missed by all of us.
Great interview! Thanks to interviewer for knowing how to ask better questions which get better answers. Alan Rickman...what a class act of a human. Doesn't confuse confidence with being cocky, remembers to see from others' points of view also, and is just such a nice person. Thanks for being you and for your thoughtful work.
And an honest person! Very rare. Always there to help out a fellow actor when he knew they could do better & always believing in them! Helping them to believe in themselves! Quite remarkable all around!
this is one of the best intervbiews i've ever seen. the interviewer is clever, respectful and he's done his research well. the interraction between the two is beautifully relaxed. as for Alan Rickman... words are poor... such a warm gentle presence ! you find it hard to believe it's the same face that freaked you out as a child (Gruber, Sherief).
An evolved human being who not only recognised his own talent but that of others. He always gave his best in everything he did. Compelling, convincing and totally professional, blessed with an endearing humour and a self deprecation which set him apart from lesser mortals. Sadly missed, but fondly remembered.
It's been 8 years akready without him in this world, and yet, I'm still utterly ruined for any other actor to love, like I still love and admire him......rest in peace dear sir 😢❤
His death saddened me and still saddens me. He died too young and I miss him and other wonderful actors such as Pete Postlethwaite, and Bob Hoskins. Thank you for all the wonderful work you left us with. 😊xxx
Excellent interview! Intelligent, knowledgeable questions to obtain intelligent, knowledgeable answers. So very rare! Plus, not focusing on just a few roles or aspects, but rather spanning his career. Very well done!
One of the best interviewers I have ever seen! I enjoyed this so much...not only because I love and admire Alan Rickman so much but also because this interviewer brought out the best of him for us to enjoy.
What people said about Alan rickman’s voice makes me feel hopeful that some of my qualities that people feel don’t fit into social norms might just be one of my strengths.
What a great interview, so relaxed and comfortable to watch. Both listening to each other and reacting, not forced at all. And that voice ! RIP Alan Rickman, a lovely man, much missed and always remembered.
Alan is one of those few actors which people tend to "have no glue who they are" and if you look closer, they are in many of the most remarkable movies you have ever seen.
How could six people give this a thumbs down? Perhaps there isn’t enough Harry Potter for you here? Just try not to fall in love with Alan Rickman (and his voice) when he recites Pablo Neruda to Juliet Stephenson in Truly, Madly, Deeply!
Charming interview. Curious about one brief mentionof Mr. Rickman's parents: morher a homeaker, father a factory worker. Another report mentioned his father doing artistic work (painter?) which might lend one to see how young Alan might have chosen Art school before acting. Otherwise an engaging interview.
AL along with Orson Welles,John Malkovich,Laurence Olivier,Marlon Brando,Sam L Jackson and a few others have this special talent of filling the screen and scene with subdued menace that can literally 'make' a film,I don't think this can be taught.
Yes - it is,just a tiny bit, is it not? - a pompous British person. Do try to find an episode of QI called "Films and Fame" - 5 brilliant actors being hysterically funny. Ms Thompson is there - but her stories might be too "naughty" for American television - l don't know.
Patrick Healy is quite the insufferable, ingratiating interviewer. Pretending everything is funny is such a disrespectful messaage of cognitive disengagement.
that eerie moment when you discover you're falling in love with a man that's been dead for almost 3 years... RIP. true gentleman.
I feel you
It’s about to be 4 *raises wand*

😭😭😭
Always !!
He listens, never interrupts his interviewer, is such a fine well mannered gentleman. Love him so much.
Родители воспитали их четверых детей правильно ❤❤❤❤
How could anyone complain and dislike Alan rickman’s voice, it’s like a major fragment to his brilliance. Miss him so much.
Have you ever met people who dislike him?
2024 here, and it's been 8 unbelievable years since we lost Alan. Still can't get over it. By Grabthar's hammer - always! 😢😢
Wow. A man who thinks about what he is going to say before actually saying it.

I Miss him so much - his voice was so recognisable - and his acting supreme -

I’ve always felt that if Disney did a live action remake of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, that Alan Rickman was the guy to play Judge Frollo. R.I.P.
Best interview ever. Miss him so 😢
What a great interviewer to ask all the improvised questions!
I love Alan Rickman a lot. I am sad that he is gone.
We'll always miss you, professor.
Col. Brendon - real villian 😄😂💖 Alan is so cute. Im 21 but I love him, he was great actor and human.
Really a great interview of Alan Rickman!
Алан прекрасен во всем💓💓💓💓💓Как же вас не хватает💓💓💓

...and, the particular way he sweeps her up off the piano bench....
Such a gracious performance by both interviewer and interviewee. :)
I Love him so much❤️🌏

I think the small piece of information Rowling gave Rickman was: Snape is still in love with Lily
just watched some of the Times Talk with Judy Dench. Wish Patrick Healey had been the interviewer.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. 😊
Most Americans know so little about Alan Rickman’s distinguished career... in Great Britain. Shame really.
He never elaborated on what he did in his free time or for fun seems very private about his personal life

Best ASMR content
Alan Rickman had to be longer here, I miss him💔
Great actor ever, loved hating his character in the Barryford chronicles. I think it was called that. Amazing actor! Sadly missed!
Barchester chronicles! :D It's a wonderful series!
Barryford...lol!!!
I'd love to hear what Alan sounded like apres RADA.
I miss him
Màdly in love añd crushed when he departed.
R.I.P. Snape :(
...and if birds of a feather flock together, his wife must be a hell of a person, too!
Opposites attract....
Lucky Lady
His godson is an amazing actor (Tom Burke).
@@Ozefan2580 I will look him up. Thanks!
Could you upload it uncensored?
😢💗
Love from 2025. Always Love alan
I suppose someone complain about his voice must be no ears.
Shouldn't the thumbnail be Alan Rickman? Smh RIP 🙏🏼
Does anybody know - when was this interview? I mean, Alan Rickman died jan. 14. 2016.
The play Seminar happened Nov 2011 to May 2012, so during that time.
La vi completa pero no se ingles...
JAJSJAJSJ
@19:55 best part lol
Date? Or is that too much to ask for? 😆
The hostess sounds like a wreck, voice all trembly. Surprising.
I’d be the same 😂
