I love how they said that the reason Jake Matthews and Mike Evans got picked was because “Johnny made them better” when it was completely the other way around.
1. Jadeveon Clowney - Great pick that unfortunately has been hindered by injury 8,5/10 2. Greg Robinson - VERY bad, consistently overweight and eventually gone for a 6th rounder 1/10 3. Blake Bortles - 2 reasonably good seasons but still very disappointing due to his lack of progression (I think the lack of receivers and a good offensive minded coach or coordinator really made him look worse than he was. When the jags had a star receiver in Robinson they just let him go and left Bortles with a bunch of guys that dropped the ball. He was put in a situation to fail in my opinion) 4/10 4. Sammy Watkins - Hindered by injuries and bad Qb play, but has shown why he was picked this high with the Rams and Chiefs 5/10 5. Khalil Mack - DPOY... not much else to say 10/10 6. Jake Matthews - Very solid and reliable 7/10 7. Mike Evans - Very dependable despite overturn with Qbs and coordinators 8/10 8. Justin Gilbert - Sad situation and very poor pick 1/10 9. Anthony Barr - Very reliable and extremely versatile player 7/10 10. Eric Ebron - Has shown his ability with the Colts, but was never a main player with Det.. 4/10 11. Taylor Lewan - Solid tackle in a division with a lot of great pass rushers 7,5/10 12. Odell Beckham Jr. - Star player despite a very similar situation to Mike Evans 10/10 13. Aaron Donald - Best defensive player in the nfl? 11/10 14. Kyle Fuller - Inconsistent start to his career, but has shown flashes of stardom this past year 7,5/10 15. Ryan Shazier - Very sad situation, you can see how good he was just by observing how much the steelers have deteriorated defensively after his injury 8,5/10 16. Zach Martin - Top 5 guard since his arrival in the Nfl despite nagging injuries 9/10 17. CJ Mosley - Great player that helped transition that defense post Ray Lewis and Suggs 8/10 18. Calvin Pryor - 4 years of bad to average play 2/10 19. Ja'Wuan James - Solid tackle that never really improved 5/10 20. Brandin Cooks - Pretty difficult to grade because he was traded so quickly, but very good player 7,5/10 21. Haha Clinton-Dix - Great player that had a decent career with GB 7/10 22. Johnny Football - Poor guy... 1/10 23. Dee Ford - Great quality as a pass rusher despite playing with a weak defensive team 7,5/10 24. Darqueze Dennard - Nothing special 4/10 25. Jason Verrett - Great flashes of talent with San Diego, but has had a very injury filled career similar to his ex teammate Keenan Allen 5/10 26. Marcus Smith - Who? 2/10 27. Deone Bucannon - Talented but forced to play out of position and eventually fizzled out 4/10 28. Kelvin Benjamin - Injured often and never really seemed to improve from a great 1st season 4/10 29. Dominique Easley - A rare moment of ineptitude form NE. Released after 2 years 2/10 30. Eric Reid - Pretty bad player tbh and lost his place to Tartt 3/10 31. Bradley Roby - Very good pick.. Was a stud as a nickel corner and had a lot to do in that Super Bowl 7/10 32. Teddy Bridgewater - Sad to see his injury, but still a great player and quality backup.. 5/10 The ratings are to the team who picked them by the way. So a guy like Ebron is a great player with the colts but was a bad pick for the lions. Also took into account some situations and where they were picked obviously made me expect more or less. If you don't agree on any of them go ahead and tell me why.. Talking about football is pretty fun as a pastime
Brian Fox I do agree I was a bit harsh with him. Minor issues with injuries, off the field stuff and some small inconsistencies dropped him down a little for me. It's difficult to grade sometimes with so many stars going around him but I do agree he could easily justify an 8 or even 8,5
Why this doesn’t have more comments is beyond. Good grades. Whether analysts or the people doing the draft. You can only go based off their college stats and what you need and go from there. If the rest of the picks by that team don’t mesh together then you get a great player with a mediocre cast. Some of these players probably could have shined in a different environment. But hence being the NFL your greatest need is not always your best group. Ex...a QB with a spotty line with a so so RB.
GenesisNos drafting is a really hit or miss situation in general. Injury issues, off the field issues and many other things can destroy a guys development ex. Benjamin, Watkins, Teddy and many other guys here. But that being said many of the bad picks were seen as bad at the time of picking too. Greg at 2 was seen as the "upside" pick due to his strength with Matthews and Lewan being the "safer" guys. Bortles is the same as Daniel Jones this year. No real flash of outstanding talent and was never seen as a 3rd overall pick. Watkins was also a risk of upside and injury with Evans being the much safer pick. The ideia was more of grading how they panned out, because it's really impossible to predict injuries, commitment and even the role the organization that picked them plays. Example obviously being Gilbert and Manziel with a disfuncional franchise at the time.
"If you play in the NFC West, you must win the line of scrimmage on offense, win the line of scrimmage on defense." Yes, very unique to that division... to that league...
Which shows the great football IQ of cowboys fans... Not quite as bad as the "let's boo McNabb because we wanted Ricky Williams" fans, the "let's beat up horses when we finally get a ring" Eagles fans
Seeing Teddy get drafted breaks my heart as a Viking fan. Idk if he would have ever been what we as Vikings fans hoped he would become, but the way it ended in Minnesota was just tragic to see. Young kid, loved by his team and fans, to go down like that is heart wrenching. Still rooting for a career resurgence. Hell maybe in a couple years when the Cousins experiment is probably over, Teddy can come home and make it happen! One can dream
In the first game of the season, Manziel had like 60 yards passing and a couple picks and no TDs. In the same game, the Steelers ran a fake punt and a backup safety threw a pass for an 80 yard TD.
Someone needs to find out who their GM was that year and blackball him from future employment in football for the rest of his natural life. Think it was Ray Farmer.
I mean, weirdly it makes sense. Pace's style of play was objectively terrible, we was just big, strong and got low. Similar to Greg Robinson except greg wasn't strong.

This was Sapp’s last stint with the NFL network before he was arrested and filed for bankruptcy
Assault and Soliciting Prostitution
I a cowboys fan remember being pissed af when we didn’t draft Johnny. Thank God we didn’t.
You can't tell me they wasn't tired of bringing up Manziel every 5 seconds
That scene at the Cowboys Draft Party after Zac Martin was chosen over Manziel….PRICELESS…😂😂😂😂😂
thank goodness the cowboys took zack martin. an ALL-PRO 5 STRAIGHT YEARS, BEST GUARD IN THE LEAGUE, INSTEAD OF JOHNNY MANZIEL!!!!!!!!!!
Wasn't even a thought. U can say a lot of things about Jerry but stupid is not 1
make that 6* all pros
Still the cowgirls
And it worked out well with Prescott even thought he’s hurt rn
This is why the talking-head media is so awful. One of the best draft classes of all time and they spend half the time talking about a guy who had 0 impact in the NFL
Hindsight is 20/20
He lit it up in college but they couldn’t see past the hype
@Harry Engel Mike Evans was the only reason why Johnny football was good. Look how he made Jameis Winston look like a good qb. (minus the interceptions)
@@KimJungSparkle And anyone who saw in college saw a
QB who didn't run a pro style system, ran around made plays out of broken pockets. The off field red flags were ignored as well.
@@coleschubert9868 Winstons and Manziel are light years apart as QBs; Winston threw to national title in college and only lost two games. That has nothing to do with Mike Evans. manziel's a bum who couldn't even cut it in the CFL.
He generated clicks. The media can not ignore that if they want to generate money.
Ughhhh Cleveland could’ve landed Mack. Or Donald. Or anyone but Gilbert and Manziel
Gilbert was a beast in college so I don’t blame them 😂
@@Ben-pi6hc I had Gilbert as a major flop. I was right.
I knew it was over when I saw Manziel put up money signs after walking out on the stage
Mike Mayock did a good job with predicting the picks, I give him credit
Crazy how shon Coleman announces a pick and then he ends up in the NFL he’s a beast
I bet Jerry Jones is thankful his son talked him out of drafting Johnny Football.
4:59 I haven’t seen anyone so excited for Blake Bortles
The Rams could’ve had Mack and Donald. Crazy to look back at drafts in hindsight.
Shame Sammy Watkins couldn't stay healthy
I still think he has the potential
Brandon Rose hold your horses he ain’t great he’s average at best
He could’ve been a top 5 wideout easily
Dr Swagalicious Sammy Watkins is a 2 receiver who could be a 1 receiver on over half the teams in the nfl, he can never stay healthy, but he a dog and if he can stay healthy especially with mahomes throwing to him he can have 1000+ yard receiving seasons again
He looks like hes gonna lead the nfl in recieving yards.
Steelers pick Shazier. Brought tears to my eyes. That dude could’ve gone down as one of the best of all time
Mike was on fire with those picks.
My Texans coulda had Mack alongside Watt. Imagine the chaos that woulda caused for Qb's.
Thank God y'all didn't.
38% of the people who said Johnny Manziel should be the first pick were on drugs
I mean during that time he was very hyped and people believed in his talent that what happens. Then Texans had the 1st pick he went to Texas A&M.
@@damariohiggins6301 so wat?
@@josay3394 so teams believed he was staying in Texas during the time he showed flashes of talent and had market value.
Remember how Skip Bayliss said Manziel was great. O
What about the other 62%? Were they alcoholics?
31:36 look at all the cowboy fans not knowing they just drafted a hall of fame gaurd
Listen to the cheers for Blake Bortles. Lol
Frank The Tank 😂😂😂
1 more playoff win than mack obj and clowney combined
jags day and the bust out of those players
@@Hoodrowwilson... W lol
@@tombradyshadycheatsquadspy5590 Clowney because the texans have never been to an afccg
Kalil Mack isn’t just a pro bowler, dude is a machine
Mayock really is a true genius. He’s going to keep drafting great for the Raiders
He drafts terrible
I was bout to say bro his drafting hasn’t been good at all lol
How ironic I got a tony romo ad right when the cowboys picked Zach Martin in the video
if the falcons had mike Evans and Julio Jones....
Luke5714 and sanu and Ridley
We’d be OP
Couldn't have kept both though.

Browns got Odell and Greg Robinson in this draft... dang!!! 😂😂😂
And Jarvis Landry
Captain Spartan 04 yeah, I only meant for the first round, I think Jarvis is gonna be a steal going forward... lol
I’m happy we don’t have obj he was awful
Isn’t it just satisfying to see the hype for these players and where these people thought some of these people will go. Also what these people thought who was the top players in the draft and now how we can evaluate this draft class now and see who was really the top players in this class
its awesome to look back and see what stars these players have become
Crazy to see these analysts rave over guys who would absolutely BUST in the NFL. Great reminder that you never know who’s going to be successful in the NFL.
I love how they said that the reason Jake Matthews and Mike Evans got picked was because “Johnny made them better” when it was completely the other way around.
3 QBs drafted in round 1 and the 3rd one happened to the best out of all of them.
1. Jadeveon Clowney - Great pick that unfortunately has been hindered by injury 8,5/10
2. Greg Robinson - VERY bad, consistently overweight and eventually gone for a 6th rounder 1/10
3. He was put in a situation to fail in my opinion) 4/10
4. Sammy Watkins - Hindered by injuries and bad Qb play, but has shown why he was picked this high with the Rams and Chiefs 5/10
5. Khalil Mack - DPOY... not much else to say 10/10
6. Jake Matthews - Very solid and reliable 7/10
7. Mike Evans - Very dependable despite overturn with Qbs and coordinators 8/10
8. Justin Gilbert - Sad situation and very poor pick 1/10
9. Anthony Barr - Very reliable and extremely versatile player 7/10
10. Eric Ebron - Has shown his ability with the Colts, but was never a main player with Det.. 4/10
11. Taylor Lewan - Solid tackle in a division with a lot of great pass rushers 7,5/10
12. Odell Beckham Jr. - Star player despite a very similar situation to Mike Evans 10/10
13. Aaron Donald - Best defensive player in the nfl? 11/10
14. Kyle Fuller - Inconsistent start to his career, but has shown flashes of stardom this past year 7,5/10
15. Ryan Shazier - Very sad situation, you can see how good he was just by observing how much the steelers have deteriorated defensively after his injury 8,5/10
16. Zach Martin - Top 5 guard since his arrival in the Nfl despite nagging injuries 9/10
17. CJ Mosley - Great player that helped transition that defense post Ray Lewis and Suggs 8/10
18. Calvin Pryor - 4 years of bad to average play 2/10
19. Ja'Wuan James - Solid tackle that never really improved 5/10
20. Brandin Cooks - Pretty difficult to grade because he was traded so quickly, but very good player 7,5/10
21. Haha Clinton-Dix - Great player that had a decent career with GB 7/10
22. Johnny Football - Poor guy... 1/10
23. Dee Ford - Great quality as a pass rusher despite playing with a weak defensive team 7,5/10
24. Darqueze Dennard - Nothing special 4/10
25. Jason Verrett - Great flashes of talent with San Diego, but has had a very injury filled career similar to his ex teammate Keenan Allen 5/10
26. Marcus Smith - Who? 2/10
27. Deone Bucannon - Talented but forced to play out of position and eventually fizzled out 4/10
28. Kelvin Benjamin - Injured often and never really seemed to improve from a great 1st season 4/10
29. Dominique Easley - A rare moment of ineptitude form NE. Released after 2 years 2/10
30. Eric Reid - Pretty bad player tbh and lost his place to Tartt 3/10
31. Bradley Roby - Very good pick.. Was a stud as a nickel corner and had a lot to do in that Super Bowl 7/10
32. Teddy Bridgewater - Sad to see his injury, but still a great player and quality backup.. 5/10
The ratings are to the team who picked them by the way. So a guy like Ebron is a great player with the colts but was a bad pick for the lions. Also took into account some situations and where they were picked obviously made me expect more or less.
If you don't agree on any of them go ahead and tell me why.. Talking about football is pretty fun as a pastime
I feel like Lewan at 11 should be an 8 instead of 7.5 but can’t disagree with the rest
Eric Reid is a pretty bad player?
"If you play in the NFC West, you must win the line of scrimmage on offense, win the line of scrimmage on defense."
Yes, very unique to that division... to that league...
with a stacked draft class like this, how did the browns miss this badly on two first round picks
BillsMafia: YEAH WE GONNA GET MACK LETS GOOOOOO
Steve Rogers:😬
Geeeeez this was 5 years ago? Man
Rams coulda had Khalil Mack and Aaron Donald on the same squad. Can y’all imagine that shit?
42:23 the Browns biggest mistake ever
Wow even Avicii was playing at a NFL draft. GOAT status RIP
The browns could’ve had all 32 first round picks and still would’ve messed all of them up
“Eric Ebron has hands” hahahahahahaha
Best series on RUclips! He is the only one doing this! 1999 next!
Lol. They thought Johnny carried Evans
All the cowboys fans look disappointed about getting Zack Martin. Now look at him best RG in football. So glad the Cowboys didn’t take Johnny Manizel
Which shows the great football IQ of cowboys fans... Not quite as bad as the "let's boo McNabb because we wanted Ricky Williams" fans, the "let's beat up horses when we finally get a ring" Eagles fans
Yeah just a bunch of stupid bandwagons
There was so many good players in the first round and Cleveland picked the two worst in the draft 😂😂😂
Imagine comparing Johnny Manziel to Russell Wilson today
Donald achieved what everyone thought Clowney was going to achieve.
I remember Michael Irvin sweating in that suite when Dallas pick came up in fear of Manziel
So we miss J.J. watt and pick a qb in 2011 then we miss Mack and pick a qb here... yah I don’t wanna talk about it lol.
Jags fan I assume?
At least you got Lawrence
The Browns are famous for horrible drafts, but boy the 2014 is one for the ages.
Someone needs to find out who their GM was that year and blackball him from future employment in football for the rest of his natural life. Think it was Ray Farmer.
Mayock was so good at analyzing players, but the fact that Greg Robinson’s tape reminded him of Orlando Pace is a JOKE 😂
Apparently not cuz his draft picks are highly questionable
I mean, weirdly it makes sense. Pace's style of play was objectively terrible, we was just big, strong and got low. Similar to Greg Robinson except greg wasn't strong.
As a Dallas fan and this being my first NFL draft I tuned into, I was like who the hell is Zack Martin, and was bummed we didn't draft Manziel. I think its safe to say we made the right choice
Aaron Donald
-Lack of strength
Oh no no no
Lack of length.
They said he was very, very strong
Lack of LENGTH. Can you not read or hear?

Length not strength
Lemme show you something real quick
Ah Johnny Football...He made his own bed and has to lay in it. In terms of his personal life i hope he gets his act together but man, he was such a wasted talent.
SPTO He played a few games for the AAF... I don’t think the NFL is ruled out..
When he was drafted, Johnny F may have been messed up but the dude had one serious good gawdly hot girlfriend. Lauren Hanley. Look her up, it's worth the time. Lol.
Edward Castillo he was not very good in the AAF and was pretty underwhelming in the CFL. Unfortunately I think he’s lost his chance to ever play in the pros again
Kayman234 So you’re saying Nathan Peterman is better then Johnny Manziel?
It's John football, put some Respecc on his name BIATCH
Imagine if the Rams had drafted Mack at 2 and Donald later...
instead of vincent jackson, mike evans now has chris godwin👀
Mike Mayock was so damn good at his draft analysis and predictions
Except for his OWN job as GM
