Ernie Johnson, Hubie Brown, and Rick Pitino would talk about the picks during breaks, whether they thought the guys were any good, and when they were told who was coming up next, they’d come up with some kind of way to introduce the player to the watcher’s attention before the pick is announced. I stumbled upon some obscure 90s NBA Drafts where this was the case. And with NFL Network being probably as connected and professional as TNT was back then, they are probably given the scoop beforehand

I called it that Sam Bradford wasn’t going to pan out as an NFL QB. Weak arm, slow release, no mobility, lack of pocket presence, and wasn’t even close to the best player on his offense in college. The entire offensive line, RB, and 2 WRs were better players. So, if I put like this: “drafting the 9th best player on an offense is not a good idea.” Then, you would start to get the picture.
After GB taught Buluga their special "holding" technique that they get away with virtually on every play, you could argue he was the best pick in this draft. Mans still going strong today.
