The Strokes like some of the Arctic Monkeys songs and the Arctic Monkeys were inspired by the Strokes!! That's dope!! Plus they're 2 of my favorite bands!! I remember the Arctic Monkeys playing Reptilia in a small crowed xD.
Yes they are indeed a seriously good looking bunch. And Nick's french imitation is awesome. I love hearing their stories, this is such a cool video, thank you for this. I love hearing people's stories about their adolescence. I remember fixing many of my brother's tapes that I inherited using a pencil, scissors and scotch tape so as to avoid getting my ass kicked. Mor etti! And the throwing tapes off the balcony is a nice image, the spool
Omg my favorite band likes my other favorite band. When they said they liked MGMT I got so pumped like yes. The strokes and MGMT are one of the greatest bands that are still alive.
When I first listened to their album Angles, I remember telling my friend that one of the songs reminded me of "Despair in the departure lounge" by AM, but they didn't agree. Funny that Albert mentions THAT SONG in this interview that I had never even seen till now.
I Looooovovvvveeeee Julian's taste in music! It's so varied, not to mention I love those songs too. Just makes him even more cute that he likes all those songs!
I love how I can relate to all the "you had to wait on the radio for a certain song to play so you can record it" or the " i'd copy it from a vinyl to tape" loveeeeee these guys
I used to work at a place, and a band members sister happened to work there too, members of the band sometimes came by this establishment. nicest people ever, thank you for the platinum award that you gave me for IS THIS IT....for no reason, just because your fucking great people. A.H's parents are also the sweetest people in the world. i'm also fabs twin mutent twin, i cant spell
It's incredible how much technology has shaped they way we listen to music in this modern age, before then it was extremely difficult to organize a collection of CDs of your favorite bands. With credit to their influences mentioned in the video, The Strokes' music really ushered in a new era of music listening into the .mp3 age where we are now.
Thanks that I had my own Walkman I recorded songs from the radio and burn the CDs and share them with my friends. Thank you for all those moments when a friend borrowed me The Clash album and it completely changed my life. Thank you that possibly best , careless time of my life were smartfon and almost internet free. Thanks
Why haven't the strokes and arctic monkeys collaborated on anything yet. This needs to happen lol. A b-side, an EP, dare I even say album. Maybe if the monkeys got famous before the strokes big hiatus. Sigh, maybe one day
I wasn’t a big fan of the strokes until 2014 and they were having a concert at The Chelsea in Cosmopolitan and everyone was going. I listened to is this it to see what the hot fuss was about and It Changed my life
elmexicanochilango yeah im pretty sure the 5 or 6 seconds of hiss before each song represents the pause between songs when you listen to the vinyl but i could be wrong
Ohmygod, they are sounding old when they are talking about this kind of stuff like "Back then..." or "I remember when..." But when you look at them, and listen to them, you're like, "Woah, these guys are new, and hip." These guys are class. Just pure beauty inside, out, and in their music. The Strokes to immortaliZE.
Idk there's something about this interview; maybe I love hearing people talk about music, maybe it's cause I think they all have nice voices... it kinda makes me sad I wasn't born earlier to experience the things they're talking about or The Strokes at the beginning of their careers
I like when Nikolai talks. -3 he's not popular enough. Something about him is so endearing. And of course Jules and nick are gorgeous, and I wanna hug fab and Albert.
Oh I didn’t know they could express like this, memories, feelings, ideas, they usually suck at interviews, this is good, and I was sooo satisfied when I read they are from my era I thought they were younger . The I saw their birthdates and I was like “yeah people my age !!! “ We have the same experiences and we listened to the same music. I was so into cassettes and cds, recordings, Nirvana, Bon Jovi, U2, Radiohead, Beachboys but I never got to have a Walkman or a discman they were so cool then hahahhaha Great video !!!!! thanks!!!!
The fact that Mardy Bum comes on in the beginning helps me sleep at night
Deirdre Cardona Did they choose the song or something?
