Thank you for including EX-P in your comparison!
I've been using Poorboy's EX-P and Natty wax for over a decade and always get compliments on my car's finish. I thought that after all these years there must be some great advances in car products on the market. I haven't found a clear cut winner yet and your video makes me think I might just stay with Poorboy's.
Excellent presentation, I appreciate how you make a clear concise call on all products. Thanks!
Your reviews and comparisions are so good. I can only imagine the time and effort going into them. Also the editing, music and complete video quality is outstanding. In my country some of the products you test are not possible to buy here. So I appriciate all the tests with well known brands. And sometimes you can find pruducts that may not win or end up on top but if you add price they can be worth looking into. That is why I love these tests. Honest and thorough.
So after watching your review, I ordered some Wolfgang sealant. I LOVE how easy it is to apply, and how easy it is to remove... I love the result, BUT... it is a dust magnet. It is as bad, if not worse, than any wax I've ever used. I live in the desert where dust is our constant enemy... but this product is not desert friendly, unless you like an instant coat of dust the moment you pull it out of the garage.
Yay, a decent car care reviewer based in Australia!
big thank you on this I really was shocked on the findings most detailers go on and on how good the power lock is only to find nxt still coming out as a good over all product that leaves a high level of gloss.
Cracking vid as usual mate! Good advice and quick to the point.
Another great video Sandro! Love all your videos as they are well thought out and honest reviews of both products and techniques. Your the "Crocodile Dundee of DETAILING in the wonderful "Land Down Under". It's been a few years since I visited your incredible Country and to be honest, I would move there if I could! I really enjoyed visiting there and everyone I met were very inviting, friendly, and good decent people. Your Country also has great food! LOL. Anyway, thanks for putting together some of the best detailing videos currently on RUclips. You're up there in the top 10% of RUclipsr's doing a vehicle detailing channel! Thanks again mate. Looking forward to the next one.
The look of nxt 💪, another great job! 👍 👍 👍
Awesome Vid mate...thanks for the review. 👍
Another great review. Thanks a lot.
Excellent show !
great review.love watching this.keep them coming.stay safe an god bless!!!!
Poorboys just came out with a coating. It would be interesting to see a review from a pro like you.
Love your channel. I'm also a big fan of poorboys. I have a black car and poorboys black hole polish and black paste wax is the best thing I've ever used. Hope to see more Poorboys reviews in the future. Well done on your channel.
Another great video mate 👍🏼
Great insight, NXT standing up for me
Hello, I had powerlock and I bought meguiars after watching this video and tested Menzerna Powerlock and Meguiars Nxt today. Meguiars is more slick and has better touch.
Thank you!
Great job !!!
Nice one, thankyou for your time and effort.
I will echo the other comments, this is useful and well presented 👍
Another very informative and relevant shootout, Sandro! Although it didn't lead the pack in hydrophobicity, Megs was the one that offered the most vs cost, for me. It just looked the best, even through the RUclips eye and it is way easier for me to get than the others. You know you've got your formula pretty darn good when you look even better than Wolfgang Concourse. For me, they are very hard to beat in the gloss dept. These videos are spectacular and thank you for putting the work into them!
Really appreciate that, and I’m glad the videos are allowing you to make the right choices based on your wants and needs!
Great reviews , subscribed⭐️⭐️
Colinite 845 and either Power Lock or Fast Finish is my go to wax/sealant combo. I really believe not only is it more cost effective when it comes to taking care of your cars paint compared to a ceramic coating but also looks better on some paints. Especially estoril blue.
Actually quite shocked that Meguiar's NXT makes the paint darker, wetter looking, and glossier, than Wolfgang Deep Gloss 3.0... and the others...
Good honest test, NXT For me , due to availability 👍🏻
My experience with EX-P is almost the complete opposite of yours. I’ve only used it in direct sun (I have zero shade on my property) in temperatures above 80 degrees (F). It went on and wiped off like a dream, with no sticking or streaking.
What I don’t like about it is that EX-P will stain black (or gray) trim pretty badly.
Superb, the anti friction on that McGuires product is crazy 👍🏻
An interesting comparison would be powerlock vs powerlock+ just to see if jescars formula is any different
I tried NXT once, applied after light polishing, no clay bar. Amazingly slick, parked my car out in the Australian summer sun the next day, didn't last to the end of the day.
Would be tempted to try another product but I'm not sure what would survive being in the sun
I love Wolfgang, but the recommended 45 minute haze time, and 12 hour cure time make it only viable with a garage kept car. It was on sale last year on Amazon for about 15 bucks a bottle, I'm good to go for a long time lol
Jimmyqballs sell me a bottle?
I brought a bottle of DP world sealant 10 years back when I took a beginner course at WAXIT headquarter, love it, too bad I seems to not be able to find it anymore.
Since then I move to NXT simply because its more accessible, and when supercheap etc do big sales, it just became the best value for money one (my last bottle paid only 22 dollars.)
Great video. You bring back memories with NXT. Was one of the first sealants I used when it came out.
Hey Sandro! Great video presentation! The only sealant I own is Powerlock. Matt from Obsessed Garage here in Florida was so In love with the Powerlock/Collinite 845 combo I had to give it a try a few years ago. It looks like there’re a few sealants out there that are better. I think down here in hot and humid Florida Powerlock may hold up a bit better under these conditions....I guess! Lol-Thanks for the video!
From what I’ve read about power lock. It takes 24 hrs to fully cure and the hot Sun helps it to cure fully. My car feels like it’s covered in plastic. So soft and smooth to touch.
Like always, nice video ! You should do a video of your favorite protection of all you have tested ! I guess polish angel cosmic of carpro ceramic ahah
These videos are great. Look forward to seeing some spray sealant videos in the future.
On another note. Was washing my car today using a bottle of recently bought Fireball Ultimate Hydrophobic Shampoo, a wash and sealant combo (not wash & wax). Would you be interested in making a video comparing some of these products?
You are welcome to use my Fireball for it. I'm in Melbourne so wouldn't be an issue.
Really glad to see wolgang here. It was also my first sealant and I had a hard time finding something better until I tried coatings.
By the way, what is your favorite sealant of all catagories?(traditioncal, hybrid, etc...)
Great video as per usual, if you do another sealant comparison i would like to see sonax polymer netshield 👌
yes Net-shield...the most forgotten about and unmatched sealant ....what other product can be applied to ALL surfaces and actually last 1 yr....cant find an equal I have been using it for years.
astraliaaaaa heyyy.i try to stick with 2 or 3 brands but bought Power Lock but in this video its going to buy nxt and ultimate.
tomorow wash the corsa got some all purpose cleaner rinseless wash.for later bought some chemical guys soap and turtle wax soap
yes catch ya later.
ps1 interesting start thinking of Australia and you came
nxt!!!
DGPS baby!!!
Great, some one did exp. I had bought a bottle of this maybe 4 years ago now and it just didnt perform. No water beading whatsoever. It was slick though. Seeing this video confirms that it's possible I got a bad batch.
Need clay and polish the car. Not sealant's fault. Its probably good.
I used that next gen undiluted in the foam cannon and I liked it
Best sealant is "Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant."
He was supposed to let Deep Gloss sit for 30-45 minutes before wiping it off, per the instructions for the application. Provides higher gloss and allows it to work properly.
I agree. NOTHING beats WolfGang, even to this day. It is the best.
I never had any joy using EXP. I could never got it to work on my paint and i have tried many combinations inc full 2 stage correction. On my car it just does not last past 1-2m. On recent trip to usa i pickup NXT, so i will give it a go.
Been wanting to try the Wolfgang for long time. I think I'll stick to EX-P. It's been my go-to for that sealant type. For a good while, their Polish with Sealant was my AIO of choice
I have a similar combo in Duragloss 111 for my sealant, and 101 for my Cleaner/Sealant.
@@danlc95 similar indeed :)
Excellent job mate! I used to have a bottle of meguires NXT Tech Wax 2.0, I wonder is the NXT Polymer Sealant the same product that's just been renamed or an actual improvement on the tech Wax? What do you think Sandro? I really enjoyed the NXT tech wax.
I’m still using Prima Epic - old school polymer sealant that will give 3-6 months altho my bottle is like 5yrs old but still working. Would be good to see your thoughts on that
great video as always, if you do another sealant comparison i would like to see DPC Armor/DPC Kingsguard 👌
DPC is junk, that is why no one is talking about it.
Great video could you some reviews on gyeon products
Do a review on the all new Jescar ULTRA LOCK 8 months +
Sounds like poor boys was the winner minus maybe nxt if you were going to a car show? Would you agree with that? Also do you believe in layering? Wondering if I could go turtle wax hybrid ceramic then something else on top for more shine.
Excellent comparison video sir, I used Chemical Guys JetSeal last year and though it was pretty good but now that it's
sued up I was looking for another brand to test with.
I'm a fan of Meguiar's products so NXT is probably going to be my pick.
Its simple why most professional detailers don't use NXT. Its something anyone can buy over the counter and is difficult to impress your customers with something they can buy themselves. Having these "boutique" brands it helps sell the service to the client. Not saying this person does this, but many do. Same thing with Si02 coatings. Pro's love them, why? BIG PAY OUT due to all the prep work involved. Coatings have their place, but the prep work involved and cure times ruin it for the do it yourselfer. Most people get 2 days off from work. Not enough time to do all the steps to properly apply a si02 coating, especially if you take into account curing times. So products like these used in this video are more suited for those who are weekend warriors that want their cars looking good. That is why products like these still need to exist.
please can i know the exact deference between APC and API and if they are same thing when polishing and decontamination
How is the durability of NXT wax ? I mean how many washes ?
I would say nxt looks slot darker in a deep black gloss
How Old was the NXT? It looks like the original bottle/formula, not the current 2.0 version. It seemed to preform very well considering it's age.
It was bought just prior to making the video, we have slightly different packaging here in Australia compared to the States.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing ah! Thank you Sandro!
What about the M21 2.0 meguiars? Compare to... nxt?
Would you recommend traditional sealants or spray sealants?
I've been using the NXT on a 6-9monthly basis and Bowden's Afterglow after every wash. In between, sometimes I might top it off with Seal and Shine or Bowden's Fully Slick. It's probably overkill...but it does make it easier to wash the car, which is so important when life is so busy...!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thanks for your thoughts!
Master Sandro you forgot about Fusso Soft 99.😱
Plz help a brother out
I wanna get menzerna usually u cut and hand polish when I detail cars at the yard quick jobs
What u record which menzerna products plz
I wanna use the pad to cut snd hand to polish
I like power lock as I can spread it with the DA very quickly and its good value. Lots of people think you can also top it with waxes and water-based QD.
Thanks, but I will still use power lock
I've been using Deep Gloss and I really liked it. I have one question though. I ran out of Meg's Gold and started to use Chemical Guys Glossworkz car soap. I feel almost like the soap leaves something behind and/or changes the behavior water on the Wolfgang sealant (for the worse). Does that sound plausible or is it my imagination at work?
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing oh I mean I applied the sealant before I ever used the car wash on a ipa cleaned panel. With a gold class it seem to just continue acting the way the sealant works. Now that I've switched to the Glossworkz the water behavior has changed. I don't know if some car soaps leave a residue that could actually change water behavior regardless of the sealant underneath it.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you so much for for the help and recommendations. You provide fantastic content for those of us that are just weekend warriors and lost in a sea of marketing.
I’ve found Meg’s Gold Class does a great job of cleaning the paint while resisting any water adherence. Any paint detailing task after seems to do better if I use that soap first.
Is it ok to apply paint sealant after washing the car with a wash and wax product?
It’s really not ideal, as the sealant really need to be applied to clean bare paint in order to have a good lasting bond.
Traditional sealant - Duragloss 111.
Spray sealant - Duragloss Aquawax.
AIO - Duragloss 101.
Duragloss polymer protective product tend to be what I gravitate towards.
Would be interesting to know how Bowdens Own Carnaba wax compares to the these
Not applicable in this test, its not a sealant
Hi, can i apply the menzerna sealing wax with a rotary at low rpm?
Yes you can
Hello Sandro , what is the benefit of slickness ? I noticed less slickness is better because attract less dust while more slickness attract more dust like magnetic 🧲
The main benefit of a slicker surface with less friction is that it helps prevent wash induced swirls as your wash mitt and the dirt on the panel are able to be removed with less resistance and glide off rather than being pushed into the paint. There’s also a tendency for things like bird poo and bug spatters to be removed more easily as it’s harder for them to bond to a slicker surface.
The other thing is more of a user experience benefit or characteristic that it just feels nice and rewarding to apply a slick wax sealant or coating and run you cloth over the paint with such a beautiful feeling. Some slick products can certainly attract fine dust particles so that’s definitely a con, but there’s also many benefits to an low friction surface
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thank You
The best for me is Duragloss #111.
Same here!
Could i top nxt or wolfgang with deep crystal carnuba or Pinnacle Souveran after curing over night? Another awesome video.
Thanks and yes you could
Any recommendations for a sealant as a base and high gloss topper? Or wolfgang toped with Pinnacle a good choice? Thanks again.
A lot of guys have enjoyed Deep Crystal topped with Souveran wax for about a decade so it’s definitely a popular choice
Would you recommend waiting the 12 hours on Wolfgang curing or could you layer it sooner than just avoid any water etc for those 12hrs? Would it drown the polymers so to say from curing correctly
It really depends on the environment. When I worked outside as a mobile detailer I found that a after a good hour or two the sunlight would cure the sealant quite well as UV light has fantastic curing abilities. But indoors I’d say wait at least 4hrs or even longer if it’s quite cold, but if you can wait 12hrs then that’s a safer period that should ensure the sealant is cured enough to accept the wax without issues.
Is this NXT 2.0?
Spray road salt and perhaps acidic lemons to mimic pollution and dew in the air. Those sealants won’t last long real world. Also scrub the surface with chamois
Como ago para obtenerlo trabaje en un carwas con wolfgan es lo máximo en sellador acrilico
What is the best paint sealant for gloss and self cleaning from dirt and dust? I just bought a new black car and want self cleaning properties with dust
Thank you for your videos
From what I’ve heard I lot of people seem to rate Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax at being good at resisting dust.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing do you think that is a good product or do you recommend something else?
I used the Meguiars ultimate polymer paste wax after I polished. Should I spray the sealant on top of that or does that not usually work well to do that?
@MaddoxVicRealtor applying Meguiar’s HCW (or really any sealant) over another wax does tend to reduce its effective bond and durability and may also make the application a touch more difficult. You still absolutely apply it over the wax - it done this many times - but the best results tend be applying to clean bare paint.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you
Last question,
I recently compounded and polished my car. Compound residue got onto the rubber seals between the doors and around the windows which leaves a white dried residue on the rubber. I cannot seem to take the residue off.
Is there an easy way to take the residue off the rubber?
How do paint correctors prevent this or is this normal?
Thank you
The way to prevent this is to use car masking tape to protect those trims prior to polishing because as you and all of us have experienced it can sometimes be near impossible to remove it depending on the specific trims. A dilution of isopropyl alcohol, wax and grease remover, All-purpose cleaners with brushes and microfibre cloths is what you can use to try to remove it. If all else fails you can use a trim dye such as Solution Finish to restore them in some cases.
I hope you can test Meguiars M27 Pro Hybrid Ceramic Sealant very soon. It’s shipping now in the USA and Meguiars claims it’s the longest lasting sealant they have made to date. You can apply it to the whole car and then come back and buff to perfection. It’s sounds like an efficient process that would save time for pro detailers.
When should you use a selant
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing is a selant a good option to apply over itched paint for protection
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thanks for that
Where is turtle seal-n-shine?
The absolute best sealant was not part of this video and it cost $25 for 5 years supply.
Fusso Coat Soft 99. Apply very, very sparingly. Wipe off after no more than 5 minutes. Wait 9 months to a year to reapply.
Meguiars looks good, but at £21.50 a bottle expensive.
Nxt full of fillers ?
How about fusso coat?
Why are you being so "fussy"?
@@maj8301 why are you being so "sensitive"?
Did megiuars NXT ever solve the dust magnet issue? I used to use NXT when it first came out, and I noticed that it was an EXTREME dust magnet. In fact, I noticed that most synthetic sealants attracts way more dust than natural carnauba products. I prefer the ease of use and longevity of synths, but here in LA, dust is a HUGE issue.
Hey Sandro! Looking back at your video reviewing some Shine Supply products - I had a question for you.
• Cool Guy
• Tuga Devil Special Wheel Cleaner
• Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus (New Formula)
Have you tried the other two? I know a lot of CarPro guys love the Tuga Devil, at least in the US!
I am curious as to which wheel cleaner you find more capable in general, or especially when prepping for a detail.
Car Craft Auto Detailing Thanks for the info! I believe the US just recently got an Nv distributor so I will have to give purge a try. I’m certainly not unhappy with Cool Guy but I do like trying things!
Cool Guy is really marketed as a pretty stout/heavy duty wheel cleaner here so that’s really interesting you find it weaker!
Collinite liquid 845 blows them all away.
Oh yeah??? That's YOUR opinion PAL!
Best Paint Sealant ? That's easy : Zaino ! LOL
Anyone of these will keep your car looking like new. It comes down to cost.
ok ok ok ok i understood stop wasting water lol
All those crap are absolutely nothing compared to Soft99's Fusso!
